I am dissatisfied with the management at Weston Lakeside apartments. They have twice failed to follow through on requests made. First when i signed my lease based on a promise they had made about the apartment itself and secondly with a service that was important to my health and well being that was completely ignored.

I have not lived in an apartment community since I was in college, and that was a long, long time ago. After selling a condo in 2013 and a house in 2021, I knew I had to pick my next home according to my specific wants and needs. Not only is my individual unit gorgeous, updated elegantly, open, and bright; I feel safe to walk around this complex with my dog at any time of the day or in the late evening hours, without fear of being out by myself. The staff that have remained here: Hailey, Bryan, Lindsey, Vaughn, Freddy, Alex, and D, have been amazingly kind, supportive, and very positive on a consistent basis. It is nice to know I am valued and treated as an important part of this community. You will feel at great ease knowing you have one main bill you are responsible for, aside from utilities, your rent check! If you were a previous home owner like I was, there is so much freedom and headache taken off your shoulders from the hassle of all things you are responsible for as a homeowner - roof, HVAC, windows, floors, bathroom leaks, etc... I could not ask for a better set-up! One final note, the residents here also look out for you but also don't intrude on your personal space when you aren't in the mood for being social. Most people that live here are young professionals or people like me who are retired and want life much less complicated. I am here for the long haul!

Nice Property, But Terrible Management
Just vacated the Weston Lakeside apartments. Nice grounds and location (near a lake); however, 4 Property and 5 Maintenance Managers over a period of 6 months. They charge very high (some duplicates) so called "utility fees." Watch out! There was drug smell in corridors and dog poop in elevators. Property Managers were not very cooperative and did not respond to my concerns. Will not recommend.

Weston Lake side is a beautiful place to live and enjoy all the amenities they have the staff is wonderful. The maintenance crew is very timely. Plenty of parking. I enjoy swimming in the pool, the running track and it's so close to so many different convenience, stores and restaurants.

While the apartments themselves are nice, nearly everything else about this property has been frustrating and poorly managed. Management is consistently unresponsive. Emails routinely go unanswered, and residents are rarely informed about ongoing issues or changes. The elevator is frequently out of service, often without any warning. I've lost count of how many times I've carried groceries to the elevator only to discover it wasn't working, with no sign posted and no communication sent out. There was a woman who was in labor that had to walk down four flights of stairs because the elevator was broken. Trash pickup is another ongoing issue. Only one bag is collected, and when pickup is missed, the dumpsters overflow. Trash regularly ends up scattered around the property and even into the road, creating an unsanitary and unpleasant environment. Residents are also charged a monthly extermination fee, yet roaches and other bugs continue to enter apartments from the hallways, which are often dirty. It's difficult to understand what this fee is actually covering, given the persistent pest problem. Maintenance has been equally unreliable. On multiple occasions, my work orders were marked as completed even though no one ever came to address the issue. The club room is also poorly designed and managed. Staff do not appear to have a dedicated office and instead work throughout the club area. There is a room intended for residents to use as a conference space and for printing, yet it is almost always occupied by an employee, making it uncomfortable and impractical for residents to use as intended. Overall, while the apartments themselves may look appealing, the ongoing issues with management, maintenance, cleanliness, and communication make this property one I cannot recommend.

This is a very nice community. They have events for the residents to get together and get to know each other along with doing something fun. The facilities are very well maintained. The staff and maintenance crew are very quick at responding to any messages.

Fantastic place to live if you want to be close to umstead and crabtree with a great commute to morrisville/ RTP companies. Quick ride to groceries and downtown Cary too. Overall peaceful and quiet place to live, the newly renovated apartments are very nice, and the common spaces are very well kept. My only complaint is that it is nearly impossible to get ahold of a real person when calling the apartment about anything, maintenance, leasing stuff, etc. When you do get ahold of a real person in the leasing office or maintenance dept they are super helpful and friendly, but you basically have to show up in person to the leasing office to get any help with anything. 100% a fault of the management company and not any employees at the complex.

The start was great. Since the summer of 2025 it has been subpar, and even very frustrating. No one answers our emails, our floor has a roach infestation, and the leasing office doesn't offer any solutions.

The apartments are spacious and updated and the location is fantastic. However, there has been so much turnover in the leasing office that's it's hard to know who to talk to. Communications with the leasing office is very difficult. When you do talk to them, they write down a note and then you're forgotten. There are nice grassy areas but they water it so much that it stays muddy.

Pros: Clean community, quiet living spaces, good maintenance team Cons: Roaches everywhere, outdated house appliances (even when community is advertised as luxury), hard to reach out to leasing staff, constant follow up with staff with unresolved requests. Move in day was disorganized. Was auto charged $6000 for first month's rent (3x more) due to staff incompetence. When I spoke with the then property manager, she didn't even apologize and lacked empathy. Walls/floors are built super thin that you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing (even if they didn't mean to be loud) and vis versa. Feels like sometimes I'm walking on eggshells.

Greedy corporation disregards tenant health and safety
Worst renting experience of my life. A few months back, we had our water heater replaced, which included maintenance to our front closet. Two weeks ago when packing for a trip, we noticed a huge black mold problem in the apartment and reported it immediately. Nearly two weeks later and they still have not even sent someone to come look at it, let alone fix the issue. They’ve also charged us a $400 “water reimbursement” fee for the last few months, without explaining why or working with us to fix the problem, which is literally illegal under North Carolina law. The only way we could get it fixed last time was having our lawyer threaten them, and even then, they still didn’t reimburse the full amount. Looks like we’ll be hiring a lawyer again, and this time, we won’t stop with just a letter…. The amount of emotional distress we’ve gone through these past eight months and the neglect of a serious risk to our health - can’t wait to see you guys try to squirm your way out of this one. Unless you enjoy living in conditions that shave literal years off your life while being priced gouged by a greedy corporation just because they think they can get away with it, I wouldn’t recommend this place. And before they come at me with some -- - I AM a resident, the lease is in my Fiancé’s name.

I've enjoyed living at Weston Lakeside in my short few months there. My apartment is very nice and the building is always pretty clean. Other than roaches every once in a while (which is pretty normal in an apartment), I've really never had any complaints about the quality of life. Maintenance team is great - they work hard to keep the place running. Management seems competent even though I haven't met them.

Management allows short-term storage of trailers, construction equipment, recreational vehicles, non-functioning automobiles, etc., making the property look like a U-Store-IT parking lot. And these eyesores are dumped directly in front of the mailboxes (instead of behind the residences in the back), so that every resident entering and leaving the property gets to "enjoy the view" anytime they enter or leave. Management removed the on-site car wash, which had been historically advertised as a primary selling point of the property, replacing it with an expansion of the maintenance storage building and a parking space for maintenance staff. Now broken maintenance items, including the maintenance's own broken garage door (!), are gleefully displayed to every resident entering and leaving the property. Interior hallways flood during heavy rains. Water flows into the small storage units available. Make sure you only store things there in plastic tubs. Residents have had wooden furniture and legal boxes of papers damaged/destroyed. One resident built a bridge over his threshold to avoid the 6ft puddle that accumulates after every rain. Management promised a fix years ago. Maintenance staff will close work orders without actually completing the job in order to appease Management. The interior cleaning crew don't seem to appear on a regular basis, and when they do they miss things like the monstrous cobwebs around each hall light. Want to discuss anything with the property manager ? She doesn't use her office. She has commandeered the Business Center, resulting in residents no longer having a quiet space in which to work if they need to leave their apartments for a short time. Management does not hold socials to discuss resident complaints. Perhaps due to the high turnover of property managers. Residents use the term "Manager of the Month" not as recognition for a job well done, but instead as a nod towards the high turnover rate. Sales staff manning the office do not ask delivery service drivers to "deliver packages to the resident's door" because of the newly installed package locker system. And they do not encourage drivers to make use of the package delivery system, nor to put each package into its own locker. The result is there is no security. All packages, regardless of size, are shoved into the one oversized locker. Once that locker is full (and it always is) the package gets left on a table or on the floor. Sales staff do not check ID of folks walking out with packages (grabbed off the floor or table) under their arms. Need a mystery birthday present ? Come "shopping" at the Lakeside clubhouse ! New residents are not briefed on the valet trash pickup procedures. The result is new residents set out trash on non-pickup days where it sits until the next pickup day ? up to 3 days later. And they get fined for breaking a rule of which they were never aware. Another result is the constant stream of roaches in the hallways.

Terrible office management & the head of maintenance is the worst. Maintenance requests are deleted or marked complete when never done. Housekeeping is completely absent. Common areas are filthy. Housekeeping does not come regularly and you can't tell when they do because nothing ever looks cleaned

This apartment is in a great location, next to a lake and a state park. The units and the front office are being updated. Problems are the management office - poor communication, poor trash management.

Loved living there, worst office EVER!
Lived there for 4 years, 2020-2024. Moved out Feb 2025. I told the office i no longer had access to my online portal account. Spoke to Tangela several times about it and asked her to send me via email my final bill. 2 months later, never received it. Received a voicemail from Hailey advising if i didnt pay immediately, they would send to collections. No notice, no nothing. Loved living in the complex, but the office is the most frustrating group of people. If you call, no one answers. Only if you press the button requesting information about the property can you maybe get someone on the phone. DO NOT MOVE THERE. Very expensive for small apartments. Much better places in the area.

There is a huge and pervasive pest control problem, even for people who maintain a clean home and lifestyle. Other than that, this is a wonderful community with easy access to the lake and trail. People are friendly and it's mostly always quiet.

The community is in a great location, close to a lot of shopping, restaurants and interstate. The management team changes too much! When you get to know them they are gone! I don't feel like they take your concerns to heart! They have the don't care attitude regarding the residents. The elevator is always having issues and sometimes scared to use it.

The newly renovated units at Weston Lakeside are well appointed and comparable to similar communities in Cary. The location is great, with wooded lakeside grounds convenient to shopping and parks. The amenities are on par with similar local apartment complexes. The rent is reasonable but there are a number of fees that increase the cost. Unfortunately, the construction of the buildings allows for noise to easily pass between units and noise from the Interstate and airport can be noticeable at times.

We have been generally satisfied for some minor items, dissatisfied for only one item, and very satisfied overall for the eleven years at Weston Lakeside Apartments. There have been renovations and changes in ownership and property management. My wife and I think the overall living conditions here are exceptionally good. It is a beautiful property with good amenities and strategically located to get places quickly while being somewhat secluded and quiet. Rent cost is reasonable for location in the Raleigh Area.

Great complex and staff, and maintenance is quick. But it is so hard to get in contact with the office. I have never been able to call and successfully get through to someone in the office, I always have to go in person. Same with maintenance emergency line, it goes straight to voicemail.

Walls are too thin. I can literally hear a full conversation of someone in the living room from my bedroom without trying. The person above me stumps so hard but I don't know if that's cause of the thin wall or not. Maintenance is really great. Overall I'll give this place a 6-7/10

I have no comparisons to other complexes because I am usually in a single family home, and this is a temporary situation. It is nice here, and fairly well maintained. There has been a lot of turnover here in management as well as reps, so inconsistencies are regular. I have a current issue regarding a maintenance need, and if it isn't resolved, I will elevate it to the corporate level. The contract is pretty clear and I abide by that and I expect management to do the same, but they sometimes try not to. Noise can be a problem at times, especially with dogs barking for long periods of time after owners leave. Structurally, flooring allows for sounds to come thru and people upstairs walk loudly like godzilla. I look forward to being in my own, serene home in the very near future.
