We lived there 3 years. Overall I enjoyed this place a lot. There used to be a construction and many people suffered from it, but now it's over. Direct access to greenway and Umstead park - great location. There are several bike trails in Crabtree park. Love it. They have nicely maintained bikes but it's really hard to use them because of the hours policy. I never heard my neighbours. Comparing to Lakeside Lofts - it was much better here (we moved out from Lakeside Loft after 1 month because of the enormous noise from everything: neighbours laundry, ac units, even fans..) Stuff is nice but don't expect any concessions if you signed a lease (in Lakeside Loft they let me break the lease without paying fees).

Needs staff improvement overall, point blank. Better attitudes of staff, professionalism and at leasr acting like they care about customer/tenant service. Thoroughly cleaning apartments before a resident moves in. There was dirt all over on mismatched blinds in living room & blinds are still missing pieces in guest room, paint marks all over shower door & hall bathroom. The initial stove was dirty inside and the microwave buttons were peeling all over. Stove didn't heat properly and valid reasoning/proof was given yet it became an ongong questionable issue as if we're incompetent. Previous tenants hair and dirt was all over main shower & kitchen. Need a better maintenance request and follow up process, perhaps from the Supervisor when issues become ongoing. The facilites manager seemed to unwillingly come to a resolution regarding the stove issue as well. A step up in management leadership has been lacking every since the first day of moving in with 100 degree weather, the a/c being broken for at least 4 hours plus. Not one phone call or letter for any inconvenience. The cold water pressure in kitchen was lacking, it was discovered the previous tenant installed their own water filter that was not removed by them or the cleaning crew. Before signing we were told construction would be done in July shortly after our move in date yet we find out it won't be finished until September once we moved in.

Noisy and poorly built. Can hear the neighbors speaking in the apartment above me. My apartment flooded several times and had to be dried out for one- two days each time. I did receive one break on rent though. They staff is nice.

In a sentence: Do not live here. The location is great and living on the lake is really nice, but the experience has been horrible. If you are looking for lakefront living I highly recommend the Lofts just next door. From talking to people there they seem to have their act together. Issues I've had since moving in: 1) My neighbors have been awful. Imagine the typical losers that never really graduated college. They play music extremely loudly on weeknights, yell at each other, and generally are a complete pain. The office has done nothing about this even after I've complained upwards of five times. They've gone so far as to completely ignore messages I've left or requests for calls from management. This seems to be a general trend, most people I've talked to that have had any issues that they've brought to the office's attention have been ignored or snuffed. In one instance the construction workers punctured a hole in a wall and the office manager refused to get in contact with the resident about it. 2) The construction. I think this place hired the most incompetent construction company they could find as this process has been going on for almost two years now. They initially put up a ton of scaffolding and then left it unused for four months while they waited to find a structural engineer that could verify that it was safe. The office of course is selling a different line to new residents. As a personal example I haven't had access to my porch due to the construction for almost nine months, which is insane given that they are supposedly just redoing the outsides of the buildings. I also don't get to define my own sleep schedule during the week as the workers consistently start jack hammering and sawing at 7:30 each morning. Between the construction and my jerk-off neighbors I have absolutely no control over my sleep schedule. There have been many instances where the construction workers have broken things in apartments due to the banging, or straight up punctured holes in walls. This happened to me and meant that no only did I have a mess to clean up but I was also able to pay to air condition the outside for a week until it was fixed. 3) Bugs. There are lots. 4) The office is incompetent. They ignore issues, some are straight up rude, and the place is so understaffed that I've had times where it has taken me days just to get a package. 5) The rental policy is beyond draconian. If you ever are late with rent you are slapped with a late fee and have to pay via MoneyGram. These things are a pain to get, they are basically a special money order type deal that are only available from a few locations. It took me hours the one time I had to do it. Obviously this resulted in my setting up auto pay, which worked until the system glitched and I wasn't credited with a payment one month. 6) The pool has basically been taken over. The office doesn't enforce the rules with respect to residents and guests being the only ones allowed to use the pool. The fun result of this is that a group of losers has basically taken it over on most weekends. One year these geniuses brought glass into the pool area and broke it, resulting in the pool being closed for most of the summer while it was fixed. It should go without saying that pool hoppers don't have a vested interest in whether the pool is open and so would do stuff like this, but far be it from the office to care. I could go in short in case it still is not clear: Do not live here. The location is great but the experience is just not worth it.

I really enjoyed my time at Weston Lakeside. I lived there for about 2 years. The staff was amazing - always willing to listen and help. Maintenance would fix within 24 hours. I felt very safe there. I lived on the top floor and had very little noise from neighbors. It was a great location! Gym is a little small and the treadmills break often but it was still usable. The trail by the lake was really an added bonus!

I am impressed by the scenery, location, and trails around this apartment complex. The area is generally very quite, with the exception of, on occasions, someone blasting music in the parking lot areas late at night. The amenities are great and the apartments spacey. I recommend Weston Lakeside if you're comfortable with living in a location with massive foreigners from India and other rich ethnicities and its continual active influx, and rapidly changing demographics in Cary. The crime rate appears to be low for now and areas clean. I feel okay here. Recommend it!

My husband and I moved in about 2 months ago and we absolutely love living at Weston Lakeside Apartments. In the short time that we've been here there have been so many awesome community events thrown by Josh and Brandy with the Weston Cares team. The events have ranged from community trail hikes to omelette and bagel brunches in the clubhouse. The management team have also done a few breakfast on the go days for us too. They really try to take great care of their residents and really do seem to care. We love going to the community events because we've met a lot of our great neighbors which is nice for us North Carolina newbies. The location our apartment is awesome. We live in building 3 and it's just a short 2 minute walk to get to the trail that leads to Lake Crabtree. We love taking strolls with our dog around the lake at sunset and going on our bike rides on the greenway. If you don't have a bike, no worries Weston Lakeside has several free rental bikes for their residents. Living near the lake really gives this apartment a resort like feel. Not only is it right on the lake but it's an easy commute to Raleigh, Durham and RTP. I work in RTP while my hubby works in downtown Raleigh. Our commutes are about 15-20 minutes each. Not too shabby. I like our apartment home too. The community is pretty peaceful and seems to consist of young families or adults. I haven't noticed any rowdy college kids or crazy apartment parties. It's a nice change because I've lived in many different apartment communities in my life and I've had my fair share of crazy neighbors that like to party it up until the early morning. I like living in a community where I can hear the crickets chirping at night when I walk the dog and feel safe walking around the community late at night. I've also noticed that this location has on site security that patrol the grounds. Great safety feature. Our apartment has pretty new GE appliances and super high ceilings even though we live on the ground floor. I love that the apartment doesn't have that cookie cutter apartment feel. It's got archways, columns and hanging bar lights. Makes it feel like a real home. Plus we love our neighbors. Everyone is friendly, courteous and we even had some people offer to help us move our furniture in when we moved in. Never had that happen before and let's face it, that's pretty cool. Sure there is construction right now which seems to be everyone's major complaint but the construction is only on weekdays and never on holidays or weekends. The construction workers can get rowdy and don't seem to be the best mannered but I can't fault the apartment community for that. We knew what we were getting into when we signed the lease but honestly it's not that bad. We've only been here 2 months and they've already finished our side of the apartment building. We just have to hear the construction noise from the distance. We do get community updates on the construction and it looks like construction will probably be done in the next few months. Other than construction, I really can't think of anything that we dislike about this apartment community. People are friendly, there's great community events, location is prime, it's a dog friendly community with a small dog park, free bike rentals, 24/7 business center and gym, quiet community (besides the construction), on site security, and quick maintenance repairs. What's not to love?

If convenient location, nice amenities, and affordable rent are your selling points, Weston Lakeside is definitely an apartment complex you want to consider. I love the fact I'm seconds away from shopping/entertainment/food, major highway, international airport, and my job. The only downside to Weston Lakeside is the apartment buildings themselves are not structurally strong (you can literally hear your neighbors' footsteps and sometimes even their voices). But again, for the price, this is a great place to live.

February. It has been since February that I have been able to open up my windows and porch doors. It has been since February that I have known what it's like to have the sunlight stream into my apartment, to breath fresh air from a nice breeze outside. I can no longer enjoy the spring rain or thunderstorms, because I cannot see them. I have had scaffolding, a green screen and a giant opaque tarp draped over my side of the building for MONTHS. M O N T H S. And to seal the deal there is a giant plank of wood sealing my balcony door shut. There are brand new apartments in the surrounding area that are being built faster than Weston Lakeside is getting "renovated". I genuinely do not understand. The little construction camp was set up in 2015, they definitely settled in also! They have their own power lines running to them and everything! And they definitely treat the area like a construction zone and not peoples homes, that's for sure. The work doesn't start until 8 but that doesn't stop anyone from standing right outside of my window and TALKING SUPER LOUDLY starting around 7:20am. Can you guys please address that? I know you read these reviews. Please tell them that it's not polite to scream and laugh outside of windows in the morning. As everyone can read, my complaints are actually not with an interior of the apartments, nor is it even with the office staff. It's just the super depressing environment that I have been subjected to. I use to be annoyed with the thin walls here, pre construction. That was my big complaint. I could sometimes hear my neighbors television. How spoiled was I? I would do anything to go back to that being my big complaint. Now all I hear on my days home during the week is loud constant beeping. The thing is, this apartments location is top of the line. Lake Crabtree is literally my backyard. It's a beautiful spot. We are so close to EVERYTHING, yet we are surrounded by trees and nature. My husband and I are on the fence if it's worth staying here or not. We're so tired of getting yanked around, not knowing when our side of the building will be completed. Back side of building 2000, we're suppose to have somewhat of a lake view. When will they finish our side..? It seems like it's being neglected while every other part of the apartment is getting worked on. Can we just get this over with? Thank you for reading.

This property is undergoing construction and I would not recommend it until the work is completely done as it is disrupting the experience of tenants - leaks into apartment from rain, disruption of phone service, disruption of electric service, construction noise during weekdays, etc...

We have only lived here about 6 months, but we love it. The only problem we've had is the elevator in our building squeaking very loudly, but it is always fixed the next day! The office staff is wonderful. I have to give a special shout-out to Sean who always remembers our name. The maintenance staff is also extremely quick to fix any problem we've had which is was our #1 concern when renting. We have two dogs and we love how pet friendly the community is. There is a dog park, but there's also plenty of trails near the apartment buildings for longer walks. We haven't been able to attend any of the resident events yet, but they've had a lot since we've been here including wings and pizza during the ACC & NCAA tournament, they've had a few mornings where they've provided a drive up breakfast for residents as they leave for work, and they recently had a kid-friendly spring event. As far as noise goes, you can hear your neighbors coming and going, but only if they're slamming their doors or if they walk heavy. The only reason they are not getting a full 5 from us is due to one office staff member who 90% of the time has an attitude when we come in. On the plus side, she is seemingly hardly there.

Maintenance team is the only exceptional accept of this apartment community. Everything else is subpar for this area, including the outdated apartment interiors and appliances. If rates were increased, even by a small amount, my guess is most residents would move for better value for their money.

I'd like to see more amenities geared towards busy professionals, especially those not around during office hours. Adding valet trash, dry cleaning, and package service would be great (e.g., pickup the trash from my apartment and drop off my dry cleaning and packages). This place is constantly under construction, especially in recent years.

I think the grounds (i.e.: the pool, gym, lobby, access to trails for walking) are beautiful but don't be deceived. The office staff is friendly but unegotiable. I moved in last January (2016) in a pinch to find somewhere to live and the office staff knew that. There was noted construction on the side of the main building but none visible from the main entrance otherwise. When asked to see the apartment I was given keys and sent down by myself to look at it. Little did I know I shouldn't of parked in the front of the building as I was instructed because the whole back side of the building was covered with scaffolding. I signed my lease and moved in, once I was there and exploring I realized the construction. As time went on in Oct/Nov scaffolding was erected in front of my balcony and apartment. Which shortly after began the rock blasting outside of my bedroom window and living room. When I approached the office staff in regards to the loud and almost unbearable noise they said "this loud part will only last a few weeks." Which I gave them the benefit of the doubt but I knew that was not true. As in the construction on the backside of the building that was started before I moved in, in January was still taking place at that time (Oct/Nov). My profession requires me to work night shift and I sleep during the day so this situation was not safe for me and for the individuals I care for at my job due to the unbearable drilling and hammering noise during the day while I needed to sleep. I approached the office staff and suggested I would leave gracefully out of my lease but they only offered me a "guest room" on premises that was fully furnished or the option to still buy out. I also verbalized the concern at this time that I was a single girl living on my own with construction workers outside my window all day! No privacy at all, and I got to listen to them converse all day outside my apartment. This construction was not only an inconvience on me but on my health and on my career and most importantly on the lives of the others I was responsible to care for. So I was basically forced into moving elsewhere and paying two rents. I continued (once every two weeks at a minimum) to check on my apt at Weston Lakeside while I wasn't living there and came in one day to find Sheetrock all on my carpet and bedroom dressers that were by the wall from the studs that were coming through the backside of the wall from drilling. During the day the construction workers placed pieces of plywood over windows and doors so there was no light or any safe way out in an emergency if needed but the front door. And just the other day I went by my apartment to clean out the last of my furniture as I end my lease there to find water damage all down my bedroom wall, which ruined my curtains and my collectible items given to me by my father through the span of my life. They were in a basket on the floor in my bedroom where the water damage must of soaked the carpet. When I picked up the basket the carpet underneath was still wet and my items on the bottom of the basket were covered in mold as well as that spot on the carpet. When I told the office team about this they did not say a word about my items being ruined but were only concerned about entering the apartment to ensure they dry their carpet out. I would never recommend this complex to anyone in the state that it is in. When I first moved in my unit was clean and modern, but never judge a book by its cover. The construction was going on long before I moved in for sure and I am positive it won't end anytime soon. So unless you own a hard hat don't live here EVER.

I completely agree with the previous residents. The management company nickel and dime you and the staff are inflexible. The whole complex is a construction zone unsafe for children and pets. If you work from home good luck trying to talk on the phone over the noise. The buildings have settling issues and the HVAC units only work half the time. When the HVACs do work you can smell what you neighbors are cooking for dinner. The management company constantly gets their billing wrong and you have to put a lot of work in to get things corrected. Avoid Weston Lakeside.

Don't rent here. I got Lyme and tick born illnesses there I'm still trying to recover from (and that was years ago). The paint smell worsened my neuro symptoms and all they did was paint and use chemicals. I had a picc line to my heart and became disabled. My mom had to get movers and had manager sign something stating that I owed nothing upon leaving since I had no choice to break my lease with 0 income and $10 grand out of pocket medical expenses every 3 months! My savings and everyone close to ! I never heard from Weston, next thing I know I get something from collections. I've tried to get this removed but they won't budge. My next step is to bring a copy of the signed document and take them to court. I can't be on any lease thanks to this and has been a huge hassle!

I would strongly advise against moving here. The construction is unbearably loud - it begins at 8AM every morning and goes until 5. Beeping constantly; loud, rude and vulgar construction workers; difficulty parking due to so many spaces being blocked off. The building is being rebuilt due to shoddy building practices in the first place so the walls are not well-insulated. My apartment is a little over 800 sq ft and my electric bill for November was $150!!!! I leave my heat on 68 degrees at ALL TIMES, do 2 loads of laundry a week and never leave lights on when I'm gone. I have the same complaints from other neighbors. A few more reasons this place is TERRIBLE: 1. Management is awful - very rude and have no sense of urgency when something needs to be fixed. 2. Which leads me to number two - since I've been here the water is never hot, just luke warm for 5 minutes then cold, cabinets are cheaply made, one of the fire detectors didn't work at all and the garbage disposal is constantly breaking. The car vacuum and elevator are broken on a regular basis. Bottom line, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We have lived here for 9 months and have really enjoyed the experience. The staff are professional, the landscaping is well done, and we live on an access point to the trails around Lake Crabtree (plenty of hiking, running, biking trails). We have really enjoyed the community-like feel, with food truck Thursdays and a variety of events for residents (poolside pops, pumpkin carving, donut or crepe breakfasts, pizza and bingo, bar happy hours). We like the design of our top-floor, corner unit. Lots of light, and no noise from neighbors. We highly recommend!

This really has been a great community for us so far. We have loved the location, proximity to the greenways, amenities, the grounds of the complex, awesome dog community, and the friendly staff. There is obviously construction going on which isn't ideal, but it's not a deal breaker. We moved in with the construction already underway on our unit and it hasn't bothered us very much. From our perspective the construction is unfortunate, but necessary and not a hug distraction. The crews are polite, clean before they leave and are prompt on their start/stop times. There are also several events per month that help you meet your neighbors which I can say from experience is not the case for other complexes in the area. This is a great place to live!

Stayed here for 8 years.. Had to move because of Never- ending construction activities..Workers having a peepshow into your apartment..Patio's closed for almost a year..with mold on the doors and literally no fresh air circulation..Had Theft/safety issues earlier .. No attention/response..Will be writing a detailed review on this later. The big reason and concern is a Shifty team of Managers and a unconcernedly Director for this property.. Trying to pull a huge amount 2700$ for damages.. Which has 1600 for carpet replacement (The contract mentions after 5 years it will be 20% of the cost, In this case $8000 will be normal charge).. Earlier-on I had mentioned to a asst Manager that the rating of this place is going down and how do they feel about it and She had replied "That everybody has their own opinion", and I had said that some of the reviews were genuine, To which she just shrugged. The Management seems sketchy and trying to harness money from current residents and the ones who have just vacated .., Will try to post the developments.

In 2013, We stopped in, were greeted by ----, and were quickly sold on a top floor unit overlooking the pool & lake. The only negative thing at this time was the $200+ application fee, but I overlooked it as we were about to score the premier apartment on the property. Move in day came in October, and we were very excited to head on over, get the paperwork done, get the keys, and move into an awesome apartment. That was until we arrived and were greeted by a former employee, -------. This lady, was nothing short of horrible. Unfriendly, rude, and hardly anyone you'd want representing a property. We actually almost backed out on signing the lease because of her, but with literally all of our belongings in a U-Haul, and time not on our side, we went on with signing. Upon entering the unit for the first time, we said hello to our new neighbors...Roaches. Big ones, Waterbugs, Palmetto Bugs, whatever you want to call them. Killed a few, went about our business moving in. Decided to wash dishes that had been in boxes and after the wash and heated dry, guess what was in our dishwasher? Roaches! People! THIS IS NO LIE OR EXAGGERATION. This was a legit problem for 2 years while residents here. If you visit the model and like their furnishings like dining area lights or ceiling fans don't expect them to be in your apartment, because they won't be. Maybe you liked the faux wood floors in the kitchen & doorway. Well don't fall in love because they were different. Maybe it was the half-wall and column in the entry way, well that wasn't there either. Within a few days of settling in, I was on the elevator, main building, the one closest to the pool, riding with another resident. It made some awful strange noises, griding, and violently shaking, ect. I must have looked concerned, because he said to me, "Oh don't worry, its normal, happens all the time." Well, happening all the time, yes, normal NO! This continued on and on and on, some days it was just legit not operable. You know what, the 4th floor is really the 5th floor off the ground and when you have a load of groceries, its really inconvenient. This was a sticking point for me, not just because of convenience, but for safety. So, what did I do? What any normal person would do when their daily use elevator kept breaking down because of lack of routine maintenance, I called the North Carolina Department of Labor and reported the issue! And they responded, QUICKLY! Absolutely unbelievable that I had to contact the State of North Carolina to get this to be fixed. That should NEVER happen. EVER!! We stayed for a 2nd year, but only because our rent was only increased by about $5. When you factor the cost of a move and the time & energy, it was a better option. By no means, did we stay for a second year for any other reason. We were fortunate enough to only experience the roof being replaced, but let me tell you that was no cake walk. Constant banging, machinery right out your window, construction overtaking parking. And let me tell you, I never saw the original roof but it must have been bad, there were swaths of drips from the eaves of the ceiling that came down the walls. Makes for some very nice discoloration and marks. We luckily made it out before what is taking place there now. Could not be a more unsightly mess. I feel awful for the residents who have no deck or windows. How can they even still be bound to a lease with that going on? Can only hope their rent is heavily discounted, but knowing these folks...I have a feeling they'd still be paying $1100-1200 during this mess. In August of 2015, we returned home from a beach vacation only to find maintenance had entered our apartment without noticed and changed our faucets to "low flow" aerators. I had to go to Lowes and repurchase a functional one for the kitchen because this made cleaning pots and pans next to impossible. Also, they removed every light bulb above the sink in both bathooms and replaced them with energy efficient bulbs. Why? Who knows! I'm the one paying for the electricity. Our bulbs that we paid for that were perfectly fine where not left for us and were thrown out for seemingly no reason. Here's a run down of other things: - Called Cary Police time after time for noise complaints - Called Cary Police numerous times for teenage parties & non residents at the pool well past midnight - Management does not stop glass from entering the pool (side note, it had to be drained JULY 4, 2014 week because of GLASS) - Legit watched people have sex in the pool, multiple occasions. No lie! - Roaches, Roaches, Roaches, and Ants - Missing packages on multiples occasions, when they were in the office the whole time - Overflowing dumpster, REALLY bad on weekends and holidays - Very small bedrooms - Clogged toilets - Outdated appliances - Total lack of storage space without paying for a storage room Listen, I could bore you for hours about reasons why not to live here. Trust me, spare yourself.

If you like being nailed into your apartment, looking at scaffolding all day and listening to loud noise for a premium price - this is the place for you! It is unsafe for kids, dogs & anyone else who can't out run flying stones or fork lifts. Management feels they have the right to move you, or your personal items, on a moments notice & privacy is a thing of the past. Nothing that made this place such a nice home in 2014 & 2015 exists any more. Don't be fooled by old promo pictures! These apartments & grounds will never recover from this management mess!!!! Find yourself anywhere else to live but here!!!
