I consider my apartment...

I consider my apartment a "retreat" from the busy areas of Raleigh/Cary. It is nice to come home and be able to relax. The community feels very peaceful and is well kept. Sometimes the noise above me is a bit loud (dog running around), but that is to be expected in an apartment complex. I feel very safe here living alone as a single female. I would prefer having 2 locks on my door as opposed to one.

    There are a lot of families....

    There are a lot of families. The trash situation is aweful - one shared unit for 3 buildings is not enough, plus the fact its ridiculously far from the buildings.

        I would not recommend these apartments. For the price you pay you have low quality in terms of service and management. The elevator is constantly malfunctioning and when you do get stuck inside I hope you brought a cell phone because the emergency call button does not work. They nickel and dime you to death and raised rent almost 100 dollars after the first year. You can hear noise above below and beside you. In addition the roof leaked and we had water damage in our apartment that was not taken care of. Save your money and look elsewhere

          Very Noisy - Terrible Service with this two combination who whats to live here. I moved in stayed for about 6 months and I couldn't handle it the BAD service to Bad management. I paid on-time and they miss placed my check and they are asking me to pay the rent with late fees. Apartment are look nice/open and noisy and not very efficient either. Slowest Elevator on the planet and recently not working properly. Stay Away from here. I would NOT recommend anyone to live here. Go Rent somewhere else then Here.

            I do not recommend the apartments at Weston Lakeside. You can hear everything your neighbors do because there is very little padding between apartments. I can hear the neighbors above us, below us, and even beside us. Also, we've had a lot of maintenance issues with the apartment where things were broken/falling apart and simply not built well. Several times I've put in work orders and the staff never comes and when I call the office, they've lost the request, or it accidentally was put on the bottom of the pile, or the maintenance team must have forgotten. These apartments are definitely beginning to show their age and if I was going to pay the amount they are in rent, I would look into some of the newer places that are right around them. There are some really nice places being built directly beside Weston Lakeside which look beautiful and have a better view of the lake.

              DO-NOT MOVE! My HUSBAND ALMOST DIED IN THEIR ELEVATOR! Pathetic, greedy for your DOLLARS(inflexible) & lousy services! 1) My husband & I got stuck in the ELEVATOR a few times. My husband almost died of lack of OXYGEN in the elevator. We had to call 911 to rescue as their service was NEVER responsive!! Elevator was down 70% of the time; We were on 4th floor & it feels like 7th floor whe you climb the stairs! 2)Once we were late ONE-DAY for droping our monthly rent check(we were on holiday)& had to pay $200 fine. 3)You often get smell of "----" from balcony because of the sewage tank are situated too close to the apartments. 4)If you do-not give WRITTEN NOTICE of terminating the contract 60 days prior you will be fined. We were fine $462.71 because we sent written termination contract 10 days late. We have communicated to "Rebecca"(leasing staff) 3.5 months prior in-person & via phone that we were leaving the apartment 3.5 months prior to lease expires. 5)We hated it so much; we left the apartment 3.5 month early & We are paying full for 2bed, 2bath apartment over looking the lake! I hate to think what they will charge if they are NOT happy with our cleaning of the apartmet! SCAM & SCUM of the SOUTH!! The staff seems nice until it comes to servicing or flexibility. Due to our work we have lived in many states & lived in numerous high-end property's but this places & their policies are WORST! Please DO-NOT MOVE if you want peace of mind!!

                They say all's well that ends well, so I suppose all is not well that ends not well. This is how I would summarize my family's stay at Weston Lakeside Apartments (WLA). In summary: 1) WLA withheld our entire deposit based on their right to assess extra cleanup charges for items left after vacation which in our case were two bags of garbage in the kitchen and 1 box of packing peanuts in the living room plus whiteboard makers on the porch glass door (easily cleanable with a paper towel). And we had paid them to clean the apartment anyway. They offer that as a service. 2) WLA is a nice place to stay except for the thin walls. Details: We lived in building 1 which is probably the best building to live in except that now their is a new complex that has been built right next door. I say it is the best since it is a short walk to the gym, business office, pool room, cinema, game room and management office from within building 1 or 1000 as it is actually numbered. The apartments were built in 2007 and they are very nice on the inside. However, you will hear everything from your neighbors below you. Even while sitting on the sofa in the living room we could hear our neighbors below us talking in their living room. Lying on the floor to watch TV in our apartment if the neighbors were in their living room downstairs was not possible. I have heard others say that adjacent walls are also this way but we did not experience that. We were however, able to hear people coming up and down the steps outside of our kids room if the ceiling fan was not running, in the winter time for instance. The folks in the management office are nice and responsive. Maintenance was very responsive. However as mentioned above the management company is not flexible on anything and will exploit your lease to the $ for any offense or lateness of payments. I would say that in our case we were abused with the lease as we paid $69 for cleanup which means people were already in our apartment but they say fit to charge us $75 for the two bags of garbage, 1 box of packing peanuts and whiteboard marker drawings our kids made on the glass to the patio door. Whiteboard markers are made to wipe off of glass BTW. This things were left by us because I had to remove the remainder of our belongings out late on the last night of the lease and I was exhausted. But there was no understanding from the management but alas America is a place of no mercy when it comes to getting the most $$ possible out of a fellow human being so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Just wanted to add another detail that I did "plead my case" with the management directly via e-mail and even opened a BBB case in which dialog occurred. In the end I was ignored. Note that the Apartments at Weston Lakeside are not a member of the BBB so you will have little recourse there.

                  The apartments look great with all the upgrades, a beautiful lake view, walking trails, fitness center, clubhouse etc but think twice before you sign up the lease for an year, for an apartment which is on the first floor. The first floor apartments can most likely be the 'clubhouse' for so many varieties of pests which include frogs, mice and even small crawling worms. I lived here for quite a few months and never had a satisfied homely stay in this apartment.Don't ever make a mistake of leaving the patio door open. Not even when you want to enjoy the beautiful weather outside. You leave the door open and you would regret it later when u see mouse and frog in your living room. The maintenance service is equally bad. You call and place a request and they turn up days later and by that time the mouse messes up your entire kitchen.There is no such thing as emergency request here. You just have to wait for help.

                      I lived here two and a half years ago and moved due to issues at the pool mainly. I returned in May and have been loving it. The pool issues no longer exist. I have a perfect view of the sunset over the lake. The staff here are wonderful and take interest in making sure you are comfortable and taken care of. Rebecca especially has helped me and is always the utmost professional with a caring nature. I LOVE LIVING HERE! In my opinion it is the best/greatest place to live.

                        Well, I've been living here for 48 hours and so far everyone has been very friendly. My moving truck has yet to show up and everyone, both the office and neighbors, have been offering anything they can do to make not having my things less stressful. I haven't heard anything from neighbors at all so far, from neither below or to the sides of my apartment, just of course the expected gathering the kids into the car at the start of the day. The apartment certainly wasn't in perfect condition when I first inspected it. There are a few touch ups that could be made like scuffs on the baseboards, doors, and walls. I do wish there was garage parking but it is what it is. We'll have to see how it goes in the future.

                          My husband I stayed here for only a few months. Thank goodness this was a corporate apartment with a short stay, because I would never pay rent here on my own. The fitness center, game area, media room and computer room are fantastic additions, not to mention the walking trails and the lake behind the complex. But, I would give all of that up to live in an apartment with thicker walls. The walls are horribly thin. We could hear EVERYTHING and our neighbors were horrible and noisy. The worst part is that because the apartments are kind of at an angle, you may hear music, think it's coming from upstairs, and then realize it's coming from a completely different apartment. My husband and I were never able to locate where the loud music was coming from. It was extremely frustrating, especially at 11:15 on a Tuesday night. Also, the staff is great, but a bit rude. One lady in particular, everytime I came to the clubhouse for something (to get a package, to rent a bike, etc.), would ask if I lived in the complex. It was fine the first three or four times, but after the fifth and sixth, it was frustrating. And she was rude about it. Other than that, the complex is okay. I'd pay more for peace and quiet.

                            This place claims to be dog-friendly, but that's only if you have the perfect breed who behaves like an angel 24/7, otherwise you'll get kicked out. Which is a shame since it's only the other dog owners who are tolerable, everyone else seems to have a stick up their ---. The place is quite pretty at first glance, it's only later that you realize that all of the fancy decor is a facade (like the fake wainscoting around the living room and fake hardwood floor kitchen) to impress people who aren't looking closely. Whoever put together the closet interiors did a terrible job, stuff is always falling off the shelves. Kitchen sink is falling apart.

                              Moved Out After a Year

                              We lived at Weston Lakeside for one year....a year of misery. The soundproofing is non-existent, and we heard sounds from other residents around our apt. as if they were in the same room with us engaging in whatever activity they were in the privacy of their home. The sewage smell's intensity is dependent on which building you live in. It is most pungent around building one where all the amenities are located. If the glitz of these fancy apartments, and the lovely views of the lake and the trail system is more important than hearing neighbor's conversations, on the toilet, stomping above, and in the bed frolicking...not to mention the pungent odors from the sewage treatment plant just through the woods, then I recommend this complex.

                                Loved it and miss it!

                                I lived here. I don't know why people always think a good review is a fake one. You can go see for yourself. The apartments are unique- they do have pillars and a different color than most apartments. They do have huge tubs. Track lighting and black appliances. How can you lie about that??? Dorks. I can honestly say I never smelled the treatment plant until I went right on the trail so just go the other way. I road my bike and walked and didn't smell until I walked the other way. I loved the view and miss that part the most. It just makes your day better when you have a pretty view. I would not have rented from anywhere else in the area. Now true, I miss Steve and the other people that left but that wouldn't stop me from living there. I will say that the very, very blonde lady that works in the office- she just annoys me but maybe it is just me. I found the manager guy to be quite friendly and helpful. I think he is honest and that means a lot in apartment renting. Oh yeah, occassionally there is a loud shreaking that sounds like a woman screaming. It will scare you to death around 12am. It put chills all over me every time I heard it. I looked the noise up on youtube. It is just a fox. You might here that sometimes.

                                  Poor New Managment

                                  I have lived at Weston Lakeside for five years and did enjoy it very much until the management changed in the past year and a half. The maintenance staff now is VERY slow and I have had to call repeatedly to get things fixed. I have had a lot of problems with water. The first apartment I had at the complex flooded and I have had multiple leaks in the second apartment and mold. A major window leak where the sheetrock was failing off took five months to fix under the new management. Also this past year, my rent for a renewal lease was increased by 30% which was the last straw and forced me to move. It is a great location and the staff is pleasant and appear eager to please but I rarely have had problems resolved and frequently have simply been ignored. (Manager would not return my call and in three days had an assistant call to see what was my problem). Since the management and maintenance is very poor and because of the water issues I have had I would not recommend this place.

                                    I do recomend living at Weston Lakeside! You will find the staff simply wonderful. They will take care of any problem you my encounter. The residents are very friendly and if you love dogs you will find these apartments to be the best! Maintance and office staff are always professional, cheerful and willing to help you with whatever your needs are. A great place to live!

                                      Great Apartment Community!

                                      I enjoyed my time at Weston Lakeside, the apartments are nice, the location is great and the staff are friendly. I would really like to thank Rebecca, she was outstanding during my time here. I am only moving because I have found a house closer to my job. If I were to go back into apartments, Weston Lakeside is where I would return. I am a young female and lived for a time in the apartment by myself, I never once felt unsafe, great location and good residents. The only complaint I could possibly have, has nothing to do with the property or management but my above neighbor who liked to vaccum at 11pm or after on week nights. Overall a great place to live and I have been highly recommending it to other young professionals moving to the area.

                                        We really liked it here

                                        We lived here for six months while searching for a house in the area (which we found) and we found it a great place to live. We moved from out of town and never saw the place before we moved (except for info on the Internet) and it turned out great. Great grounds, nicely laid out apartment, nice balcony with limited views of the lake, great location, 10 mins to the airport, close to RTP. And if you enjoying mountain biking or just walking the greenway is right outside your door and couldn't be easier to get to. There is great singletrack around lake Crabtree which is a 5 minute ride from the complex. The staff was great and we have 0 complaints and would have stayed longer if we didn't find a house.

                                          All That Glitters Is Not Gold!

                                          Upon reading good reviews, I moved in! What a mistake! The staff here is incompetent at best. The maintenance staff here is rude and they rule the roost. The manager named Trip(name appropriate) acts on no emergencies. The smoking parties in the ,"shed," by maintenance and occasionally joined by the manager are a disgrace! The maintenance staff, mainly a skinny spanish fellow(don't know his name) and his girlfriend and child are at the pool all summer long. He drinks with the residents(alcohol). Is this done? REALLY? HELP US!!!!! I have witnessed staff at parties here with residents(maintenance), maybe that is why trash is often time over flowing and stinks to the high heavens most times. Can somebody do something?? I PAY WAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS %&^#$%^&^%$!!!I would love to leave my name but I can imagine even more bad treatment! I got a notice that management is changing! GREAT! If the maintenance staff and incompetent office staff remains, I AM NOT RENEWING MY LEASE!

                                            Great Place, but....

                                            I move in here about year and a half ago. I really love it here, very scenic with a lake nearby and walking trails. Great staff in general. The apartments are very trendy with columns and granite kitchens....If I were single this would be THE place. They have a car-wash, which is pretty cool. Despite the fact that I love it here, there are cons one need to keep in mind before deciding to rent here. This is a great place if your plan is stay here for a short while 1-2 years. But, long-term, this place could get very pricey. Cons: (1) It is a little pricey. When I moved into a unit 2br/2bth with no patio (unlucky me) the rent was 892, raised to 917 after my 12-month lease ended, and are raising it by 50 to 967 at the end of another 6-month lease. When I asked why they were raising by 50 after 6 months, they said the original rent is 1200 , and that they are only increasing it to reflect the original rent. I told them that however great the apartment complex, if their idea is to increase the rent this fast then the apt is not worth the rent. They don't seem to care about it. If you plan on moving here beware that the initial promotional rent will go up pretty high next time you renew the lease. (2) The apartments DO NOT HAVE much of STORAGE SPACE. You will have to rent one or more of their ~5070sqft storage spaces for about $20-50 a piece. I had two bicycles and I was forced to rent a storage unit to just store the bikes because they don't allow to park your bikes elsewhere. And, in general, the closets are tiny and you can't store much.

                                              Best Apartment Complex Ever

                                              Hi, I just want to give my endorsement for Weston Lakeside. I've been fortunate to rent at great properties in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Charlotte, but I must say that Weston Lakeside is apartment living perfected. The apartments are much more than the beige boxes you would find at similar prices all over the Triangle. I was very proud to rent there, and loved coming home to the arched walkways, living room pillars, huuuuuuuge bath tub, black appliances, upgraded lighting, and amazing view of the lake. The sunsets were great, the business center always had a computer open, and with six grills, there was always one available (unlike my current community). The staff is amazing, especially Steve. If I ever return to N.C., I will definitely live here again. Oh, did I mention the 30 miles of running trails in the park a half mile away? Between the peace, the park, and the solid apartments, this is simply a great place to live a healthy life.

                                                Wonderful Apartment Complex

                                                I don't normally do reviews but when you live in a place that is truly special I just had to. This apartment complex has been wonderful with absolutely zero complaints in our first year here. We are gladly renewing our lease in a month or so. We have a dog and the place is very dog friendly most other residents are very respectful of picking up after them as well. Maintenance and management are second to none. My job has taken my wife and I to 4-5 different apartments over the last three years and we really researched this one and we are sooo happy. A good example of how proactive the management is; we have a couple younger people that were getting rowdy at the pool area inviting many non residents and really disrupting the relaxing experience. They took on the problem with warnings and after that didnt work adopted a pool band policy for residents most places would have looked the other way. Maintenance does a great job with the grounds and fix all problems virtually immediately. Amenities especially pool, BBQ, Fitness Room, and movie room are well maintained and very nice.                                                   Short stay but a great time...

                                                  My wife and I stayed at Weston Lakeside for about 5 months while shopping for a home in the area. Everyone in the office was very friendly and helpful, and I never had to wait more than a minute or two when picking up packages from them. The unit itself was very nice, clean, and had an AMAZING view of lake crabtree. We only ever had one issue with noise. It seemed that the unit below us decided to have a raging party one night with people screaming etc., so we called the police and they came and shut them up. Since then that unit was dead silent...weird! The units are also constructed somewhat cheaply, but not in a way that would really be a problem. I just noticed some cracking around the windows, appliances could have been a bit nicer, etc. Overall I'd recommend Weston Lakeside to anyone, but definitely try for a lake-view unit in the 3000 building!
