Park Ridge Estates is wonderful. I just moved in recently but the value really can't be beat. Tennis courts, dog park, car wash, paved trails, awesome pool, 24 hour fitness center... and completely renovated apartments - adding all that up the price is really amazing! Rita, Sarah, and Tenisia in the office are so friendly and helpful... not metion their knowledge of the industry is amazing! The maintenance guys are pretty nice too. TIP: If you are looking for a 2br - ask for a "5" the floor plan is somewhat different than the typical 2br. I LOVE MINE!!!

Someone almost got murdered at the apartments! PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE IT IS UNSAFE!!!! Do your self a favor and look ANYWHERE else. ---- is the most incompetent human beings on the face of the earth. ----- does not speak ------- which makes it impossible when he comes in your apartment. The only one in the staff that has any sense is ------- she actually cares about the tenants and knows what she is doing. The other girl still do not know her name is so incredibly rude and says one thing then turns around and denies it. I do not feel safe here I have had to buy pepper spray because it is very scary at night a lot of ------ people around making it a very uncomfortable walk to my apartment. It takes almost a month to get something fixed in my apartment and with the mold and broken thermostat never being fixed I am counting down the days to the end of my lease. I would rather live in a gutter than live here! Stay FAR away from here you will regret it from the day you move in..I hope what happened last week doesn't happen to me I am very scared now... http://www.heraldsun.com/view/full_story/19437061/article-Man-says-he-was-assaulted--shot-at--robbed-at-apartments

Stay Far Away!!!
They reel you in showing you the updated apartments, nut you get in to yours its nothing like that. It looks worn, alot of the wood is messed up do to leaks. I came in cable and water was included, two months later they took it away. Maintenance comes in to your house doesn't leave paperwork to let you know. It seems to me that the dont do alot of preventative maintenance to keep it up, the office people including the manager do not know whats going on. I wouldn't recommend this place to the homeless. It's dark I asked for a storm light to be put on the building there solution was to cut on my back porch light which doesn't help. Some buildings wood is old and rotten looking, they fix others but didn't do all. They do alot of patch work, never really fix the issues.

Love to call this home!
Ive lived here for almost a year now, and can't wait to renew my lease. Apartment hunting in this area was not a fun trip for me. Several places wanted me to sign a lease before I saw any of the apartments itself, and I even put in a deposit for another apartment and set a move in date with them before the current tenant said they decided not to leave and I was told "too bad." When I stumbled upon Park Ridge Estates, I was pleasantly surprised! The people in the office were so helpful and professional. In other offices I felt like I didnt get much help or respect because I am young, but Park Ridge was a different story. The buildings are older (built in the mid 80s i think I was told?)and some of my appliances are older as well, but it has been a wonderful experience to live here! I can submit work orders with ease on the website, and each one I submitted received a response the very next day. I once had a leak by the window after a big storm, and the workmen fixed it the next day, sealed it, and after several bad storms, have never had a problem since. To my fortune, I have never seen mice or roaches or anything of the sort since I've lived here. The landscaping is also beautiful! The drive through the front entrance is pleasant, and the grounds are well kept. It's a friendly neighborhood and I always feel safe. The parking lots are well lit, so I feel safe walking to my car or taking out the trash. The pool area is also very nice, and recently redone if I recall correctly. Grills nearby the pool are a plus as well! If you choose to live at Park Ridge Estates, I hope you have as much of a pleasant experience as I have! I am so happy to call this place my home and love the convenience of being near so many restaurants and shopping centers.

DON'T LIVE HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This apartment complex is the worst in history... from loud neighbors that scream, play guitar at the dead of night, and SLAM DOORS EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY USE THEM! The apartment itself was a joke... the AC is always breaking and LEAKING. The fridge also leaked for awhile but thank goodness it stopped b/c the maintenance guys just don't care about you. The drawers in the bathrooms FELL OFF after I touched them. To top it off every single trip to the office is a nightmare that SOMEHOW always costs you more money... I HATE this place and I've had three apartments before this one. Living here is a nightmare... please don't live at Park Ridge Estates and maybe one day they'll go out of business and a better company can redo it and even if they are a brand new company would do a FAR SUPERIOR job.

Mold and Mice? No thanks
I lived there from April 2011 to October 2011. In that time, my AC broke at least 5 times. And it took maintnence at least two days each time to come and fix it. This really wouldn't have been a huge issue had I not moved in with a 9 month old and was 6 months pregnant with my second. Within a month of living there, I noticed water dripping from the AC vent and into the living room carpet. Mold was starting to grow on my stuff. I alerted the staff and by the time I left there in October they still had done nothing about it. I had to throw out a lot of my stuff because mold was growing in my living room carpet. The floor in my kitchen was rotting out and I felt like I would be visiting my downstairs neighbor if I didn't practically walk on eggshells in the kitchen. The garbage disposal cracked and leaked everywhere and it took them almost a week to replace it. The wood in the cabinets warpped and rotted and ripped out. And another big issue, there was a MOUSE in my apartment. I called the office and was told they would do something about it in a few days. UM NO. I went and bought a mousetrap, caught, and released the mouse elsewhere. The office staff is so unbelieveably rude and know nothing about anything. The parking is hard to find, especially when you have people parking in 2-3 spaces so no one parks near their car. Maintence was a joke, I could have done better repairs on my stuff. And I'm not at all rasist, but if someone is going to come into my home to fix things, they need to speak English. I need to be able to understand you when you speak to me. I am so glad we were able to break our lease legally. Ugh, keep looking.

Park Ridge Apartments
The larger one bedroom apartment is a very nice space. Enough space to live very comfortably, with room, it is adult space... room for a real dining table and chairs... a fireplace... a screened in porch which is great... a very large closet and bathroom. Two nice sized storage areas too, where some other apartments in other complex's have none. The management is very professional, responsive, friendly and understanding. The maintenance team prompt and nice to deal with. They actually live in the complex, not much waiting! The location can not be beat.. for grocery shopping, restaurants or heading into Chapel Hill, Durham or even Raleigh or Cary. I have re-signed for a reason.

Gratitude for Mario's Excellent Repair
I wanted to clearly articulate how helpful the maintenance repair man, Mario, was in completing my request. He was timely, considerate, accurate, and made the repairs quickly. Many thanks!

Great Location, Good Price
Wow, I'm shocked by the amount of negative reviews. I was asked to write a review and saw it as a promotion, not a bribe. Think about it, how many times have you gone out to eat somewhere great and not even thought to write a review? but if you hated the place, I'm sure you'd take the time to spread the word. Come on, it's just a gift card for a cup of coffee! I would have given them a good review prior to the promotion, but just never took the time. To all those who are not happy here, move on and stop complaining. Clearly, you liked the apartment at one time or you wouldn't have moved in. I felt like the staff was very straight forward with what I should expect from my apartment, and I was not disappointed at move in. ANYWAY, I've been living at Park Ridge for almost a year now and so far I've had no problems. They DO RUN BACKGROUND CHECKS!! and I've never felt like my home here was unsafe. The interiors are a little bit old but I think it's a great deal compared to what you'd pay at a newer complex in the area. I'm hardly ever in the office but the staff was very helpful during my move. Parking can be tight at times, but I love my screened in porch and fireplace. The location is great - so close to grocery stores, Hwy 40, and Southpoint Mall. I took the time to post this because I really like where I live. I plan on renewing my lease. Be a nice neighbor, pay your rent (like an adult!), and take care of your apartment and you'll love living here.

Save your self the time and look else where
I toured the apartments with a friend a few weeks ago and it was an experience. While walking to see the apartment two guys were sitting on their car smoking weed, and the guy that showed us the apartment laughed it off like it was not a big deal! The apartment was OK, dated but I expected that. When we returned to the office the manager had a tenant yelling at her and seemed very flustered, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone but make your own choice. Do extensive research first though!

Great Place to Live
I have lived at Park Ridge Estates for over a year, renewing my lease in May of this year. The staff are very professional, friendly, and responsive to concerns or issues. The apartments themselves are wonderful, a nice combination of a wooded area but not too isolated, and then there's the screened-in balconies, wonderful on cool mornings/evenings. While parking can be a concern at times, that issues pales with all the wonderful other features. Come and check it out for yourself!!!

Be Wary Of Opinions Here!
OK, I have not seen Park Ridge in years, but, also, I have not seen positive reviews for them in a long time either...outside of this month which has been fantastic for them. Read these opinions with care (including mine), as you don't know who is writing them and what their reason(s) for doing so are. I wish you the best of luck in finding a home, and Park Ridge may or may not be fantastic for you. As a renter I always drive through the parking lot of the complex...Lots of Nice Cars = Likely Good, Lots of Bad Cars = Likely Bad. Just an idea for you.

September Reviews Here Are Breaking Records
Tons of reviews here this month. Lots of opinions, lots of thoughts. You, as the potential renter, must decide if they are honest or not....personally, I think they are a bunch of crap as an interested party may be posting reviews here! Be careful what you read!!!!!!!

Sketchy sketchy sketchy!!! And then, a LITTLE MORE SKETCHY!!!!!!!!!
Obviously, someone..."cough cough"....(maybe starts with the letter "M" ends with the letters "GENT") is writing tons of comments here this month. In doing so, they should make it pretty easy on you the potential renter.... If I thought someone had to sugar coat their property through reviews to entice renters, I would run run run the heck away! But, thats just me, do as you may.

easy living
hi my name is jean and have been living at parkridge estates for the last year and half i have nothing but good to say when i came here coming from indiana i called to let them know we wouldn't get in to late they left the key in the apartment for us any time i call for repairs they are here in less than 24 hours. maintenance dont walk pass cans or paper on the ground they pick it up on or off duty. the staff at the office is very nice and helpful, i put in a request for my counters. when they came to resurface them i left the apartment for a few hours came back and it was like WOW they were fantastic i thought i had new counters. the apartments are nice(me myself) don't have loud neighbor they are very nice the apartments are conveniently located to 1-40 the malls and grocery stores in either directions they don't have people hanging out i feel very safe in this area if you are new to north carolina or just looking for another apartment this is the place we would love to have you as a neighbor come take a look. oh i forgot screenin porch and fireplace.

And Another Post? Really?
I am very confused. This is an opinion based website, and it seems that someone may be continuously posting false reviews for Park Ridge to perpetuate their own goals, whatever they may be? Just do the math...look at how many reviews have suddenly been posted here - you, the potential renter, decide if you think they are genuine. Personally, I think that Apartmentratings.com should delete all of the September posts and check to make sure there isn't any misrepresentation, I answered the questions on the post honestly, did everyone else? "By submitting this Opinion, you represent to ApartmentRatings.com that it is truthful and contains no false statement of fact." Opinion, like what I have written, is one thing, but submitting false facts is another.........

Very Sketchy Posts Here - BEWARE
In my humble opinion, someone is posting very favorable reviews of park ridge with the goal of enticing people to stay there. In 2009 there were 9 reviews all year, 2010 had 1, 2011 had 4 until September, since September 2 of this year, there have been 9 reviews, all very positive, and one other one also noting there was something sketchy going on. Every review this month, with the exception of one, seems to be a sales pitch rather than a personal opinion....be critical of what you read here! If I were looking to move here, I would disregard the previous 9 entries during this month and look back to what previous people stated.

A wonderful place to live.
I've been at Park Ridge since 2006. From the first day the staff was friendly and supportive - the manager even stayed late because I got lost on the way to Durham. A few years later, when I required an emergency move, they moved me the very next day, and did everything possible to make the transition smooth and worry-free. The surroundings couldn't be better if you're a nature lover. The trails are there for long walks, and the woods around the complex have beautiful birds, deer, and other wildlife. (One of my favorites is the bunny who comes by every day.) Neighbors are friendly, the complex is safe, and the pool is a wonderful asset in the summer. Shopping is easy and local: it's only a mile in either direction to a supermarket, and there's a mall about two miles away. The screen porches are another great feature - even though you are in an apartment, you have outdoor space.

Staff is bribing renters to write reviews
Staff is offering giftcards to residents if they write good reviews. That's why there has been such an increase lately so don't pay attention to all the recent positive reviews. HEY STAFF: IF YOU WANT GOOD REVIEWS THEN START MAKING CHANGES AND GET GENUINE POSITIVE REVIEWS. Park Ridge is a horrible place to live. I would rather move back in with my parents!! When I first moved in, this place seemed too good to be true...well, it was. There were 2 great office staff employees but now they are gone so now the entire office staff is a joke. The parking sucks and there is not enough light at night in the parking lots. The grounds are dirty and the breezeways in between the apartments look like they have never been cleaned. They don't require background checks so you never know who your neighbors are. I see cops coming in and out all the time (and not for added security, they call because someone called 911!!!). There has been plenty of vehicle break ins. The fixtures in the apartments are all old and dated. Repairs are made to simply cover up the problem and not actually fix it. The people below me smoke inside their apartment so my place constantly smells like cigarette smoke and weed. They also don't know how to parent their children because they scream and carry on during all hours of the night. The gym is a joke and the only way you can get to it is by going around the main office and it's sketchy back there -- would NOT go at night. The maintenance department is a joke. My A/C broke in the heat of the summer and it did not get fixed for 2 months. UNBELIEVABLE! Don't live here. It sucks.

I Love Living at Park Ridge Estates!
When I first saw this beautiful place in 2008, I knew this was where I wanted to live. Being able to look out at the trees and birds from my screened in porch was and is the best thing for me. There are many wonderful things about this place, but most recently was last month when I discovered water leaking from the water heater pipe. It was after 11pm, but when I called the emergency maintenance number, someone came to fix it in less than 2 minutes! He was so pleasant and efficient that evening. The staff here are always so friendly and courteous. It's just so peaceful and the walking trails are just what I need for exercise. I just can't imagine anywhere else I would want to live right now. It may sound like an exaggeration, but it is the truth.

Park Ridge Apartments
I have been very satisfied with living here at Park Ridge. City living in a country setting. Once you drive into the complex you leave the city outside. There's a pool, exercise room, laundry room, ample parking, dog park and walking trail. The neighbors are friendly. The office staff are very helpful and knowledgable. The few times I had to have maintenance come to my apartment, they were there within a few hours after I put in my ticket and usually had the problem corrected in no time. There is no insect problem as management stays on top of this. I will definately be renewing my lease.

I love Park Ridge Apartments
I have been a resident of Park Ridge Estates for over three years. In my experience, I have found teh office staff very helpful, the grounds well maintained, and the apartments well-up-to my standards. I would recommend Park Ridge to any and all members of the Durham, Chapel Hill, or Raleigh communities.
