Have been here since opened phase II, had to work out a couple of new construction issues, but management has been generally good to work with. We enjoy the property, amenities and view.

The Highlands at Hilltop is conveniently located close to transportation into NYC, and it offers spectacular amenities, including two gyms, two pools, and a golf simulator. It is also right next to Hilltop Reservation, making it a great place for dog-walking and running.

I live here only 7 months a year. If I didn't like it here or the people I would move!!!I wish that their weren't so many dogs here.My last rental did not allow animals. I also do not like that people who smoke are allowed to smoke right outside the doors, so if I'm walking out I walk into smoke, which I despise.

My husband and I have felt the whole last year as though we have been living on vacation in complete comfort. We could not ask for anything better than living here. The location, construction, amenities, staff are superb. The fact we can have a dog with us is the icing on the cake.

Expensive to live here,but if you can afford it,it is the best apartments complex in the area. It is about 5 years old in phase I and about 2 years old in phase II. Management had some growing pain but it looks that they got their staff tougher. Nice pools,nice club houses, Great view.

We love it. We have 2 dogs and only wish that other people who do have dogs start cleaning up after their pet. It's not fair and is gross. I step in someone elses dog droppings weekly. Other than taht we have absolutely no complaints with hill top.

Excellent experience. I can go on about the quality of maintenance, the thorough landscaping, and the high quality of life enjoyed at the Highlands. It is, however, the office staff and maintenance staff that assure clean, well managed, and attractive living conditions. Everything works while everyone is attentive to the residents needs.

The Highlands at Hilltop could be one of the best place among northern NJ. But I'm desperately counting every single day for moving out as soon as my lease is expired. The biggest reasons are upstair and contraction quality. Imagine you feel earthquake every time upstair walks around. I'm extremely stressed out and depressed by that. Positive: Surrounding Area: many other luxury condos have been built around crappy places such as factory/warehouse area or below average to low income town. The Highlands at Hilltop has the best surrounding for most people, except youngsters who desire city life. This place is extremely suburban. The place is dead quiet. Yes, I concern this most and loved it. But there is huge exception. See negative side below. Forgot to mention, it has plenty of place for walking dogs. If you're dog owner, you would love this place Staffs: they are above average. I wouldn't say they are the best but meet most residents' needs. Management Staffs: mostly work hard and keep property in shape. Amenity: well equipped. Neighbors: mostly kind and reasonable except my upstair Covered Parking Negative: Construction Quality: truly disappoint with money they charge. Fit and finish is the worst among luxury condos I have lived in. I'm not saying the place is like an old garden apartment quality. But the place should be much better for asking price. The living room has laminate floor, very flimsy one. I can feel the floor shakes up and down when my wife softly walks by. When heavy foot upstair walks around, I feel vibration and pots in the kitchen rattle. I also had to change light bulbs from living room ceiling because they rattled crazy when upstair pounded the floor with bare feet. The floor also collects a lot of dust. When upstair is out, the place is extremely quiet. Then it turns to totally different world when she comes back. My previous place has real wooden floor. Rock solid one. I had never felt any sort of vibration from it. Bedroom Carpet: it's one of the cheapest quality. Carpet lint comes out endlessly. Half room of vacuum completely fills canister. If you have allergy or asthma, you would have a lot of problem with it. Some would say it's because of new carpet. I came from anther new contraction condo. Their carpet was high quality and I used to empty canister every other month with once or twice a week of cleaning. Washer and Dryer: speechless. Washer always over flooded while running. Dryer damages clothing. They look very outdated even though they are brand new. I have no idea how they even found those. Again, my previous place had brand new HE whirlpool. Elevators: useless. Way too slow. Cost: this place is total rip off. They charge $200 to $300 more than other luxury places in general with all above conditions.

Highlands at Hilltop is a beautiful, well maintained community. It is convenient to many excellent restaurants, parks, and shopping. The staff is very responsive to resident's needs and requests in a very timely manner. Even though the rents are high, the quality of service and maintainence of the community support the rent structure. As a single person, I feel very safe & secure here. The grounds & parking areas are well lighted, the buildings locked at all times and a security system is provided in every unit. While there are many rules and regulations they help to keep the community clean, quiet and well maintained.

So impressed with the care taken of the property by the maintenance staff! They obviously take pride in this complex and the buildings and grounds show it! The staff in the office are equally friendly and always helpful. When there's a problem in the apartment the response to my maintenance request is answered in a timely manner!

Nice community, close to restaurants in Montclair NJ. Great access to NY,Pa. Quite nice view Parking garage availability and storage options are also a plus. Very close to major Highways and shopping. Also acres of open park spaces at Hilltop Reservation.

I like the community, and have recommended to friends. The pet friendly aspect is great. The doors into the building are way too heavy, and the AC is way too loud - so that I can't open my windows on a cool night because my neighbor is running the AC.
