I love living here. The staff and all the people living here are very friendly. The buildings and halls look outdated and worn down, but the apartments are up to date and look fantastic, so don't judge a book by its cover.

the staff and maintenance department at the flats a fox hill are excellent! Megan and Jessica do a great job. any maintenance issues I ever needed were taken care of in a very timely fashion. when I first moved in I was concerned about the very steep hill coming into the complex but it was always plowed and salted in the worst winter in a long time. great complex to live in!

When I first moved here I was very worried. I came to the area blind and had no idea what I was getting as I was unable to visit places before. On the outside 3/4 the buildings seem a bit run down. When you drive around you see an old playground that is iffy, and some trash. The main building on the other hand was well kept up. On entrance it seems very contemporary and nice. The hallways were very hotelish (bland walls, bland carpet, basic doors). All the outside aside the apartments themselves were great. Everything in ours was brand new. It was very large for the cost. The deck was big and provided ample storage and sitting area. There is also a separate storage facility 1 per apartment which was excellent. Some problems that could be better. There is 2 laundry units per floor which can be taken up for multiple hours. On top of this people from above and below floors come and seem to never get their laundry. Multiple times I had to wait 1-2 hours just to get 1 person to remove clothes from the washer for a 30 minute cycle. Elevators are programmed awfully. The main "freight" elevator tends to be the only one that picks people up from floor 1. I had many instances where I would come in the one elevator would be on T and I would hit up and had to wait for the other elevator to go from 2 to 6 then back to T then finally come to 1 to get me while the other just stayed at T. This was a daily occurrence which got very annoying when you are trying to carry in heavy objects. Lots of kids running around which can be loud. The people in the place are very friendly. The office staff is awesome and pretty much will do anything for you.

I can't wait to get out of here! I will admit that the rent is cheap and has allowed me to save money. However, this is one place I will be overjoyed to leave! - We can often hear yelling/ fighting from the neighbors - Hallways smell horrible - Stair construction is unsafe - Maintenance often has to repeat their work several times in order to fix a job - Too many things have broken in our apartment to count - The windows leak and mold gets in around them - Neighbors are creepy - The fire alarm goes off on a REGULAR basis. Usually it is a false alarm. And usually it is in the middle of the night. - The "gym" is a complete joke. The T.V. doesn't work and there are very few machines. No free weights. - The laundry area is dirty and the price to wash or dry is 1.75 per load. - The policy on breaking a lease is not written into the original lease agreement. Beware, it is 3 MONTHS EXTRA rent. That is robbbery. But WORTH IT to leave this place. - The hill going down to the apartments is a death trap. Very icy, and until recently there was no guardrail to prevent you from going over the hill. I have seen far too many accidents to count. Just last month, the city put up a guardrail. In short, living here is a good way to save money and is close to many things in Monroeville, but is barely worth the misery.

I have been living here for almost a year now and just renewed my lease for another year. I love the office staff they seem like they truly care about helping their tenants and ensuring that they are happy. Just like any apartment there are some good and bad things about this one. It really depends on the individual and what you can handle in an apartment building. Pros: * Swimming Pool great for the summer, although there was a time when a group of college age individuals were drinking up at the pool which really was annoying. * Gym - It's small but it has what I need. * Plenty of Free Parking - Some apartments in Pittsburgh do charge for this. * Office staff! * Package holding - If you're not home, UPS/Fedex/USPS (packages) will deliver to the office for you. * Laundry on site - It is expensive. $1.75 a load. My clothes are never dry on the first go but I'd rather have laundry on site than have to sit at a laundry mat for hours. * Location - Everything in Monroeville is so close. 5 minutes to the grocery store or mall. Plenty of shopping and restaurants 5-10 minutes away. 25 minutes to downtown Pittsburgh. * Cat Friendly * Huge Windows * Spacious Apartments * Lots of closet space! * Storage lockers. Cons: * Maintenance - Yes they fix stuff but it takes FOREVER. They have left the hallways looking like crap. I'm not sure if they are ever going to paint them or just leave them the way they currently are. They have to come back multiple times to fix a simple issue. The gentlemen are nice but it just takes them entirely too long to do anything. * Construction - My apartment looks like crap. Oh sure it has fancy new appliances but the counter top is cut unevenly or the wood below the counter is and so it sits at an angle. The door to my apartment was cut at an angle instead of a straight line. The paint job of the apartment is horrible with paint on the baseboards that should be on the walls. Paint on the walls that should be on the wood. Etc. * Noise - I do not hear a lot of noise from the surrounding apartments unless I'm walking in the hallway. However. Children play in the lobbies and run up and down the hallways at times, though this is getting significantly better than what it once was. The neighbor above me apparently thinks that it is cool to make as much noise as humanly possible all day long. You can hear every thing from the chairs moving back and forth in the apartment all day, to constantly moving furniture around, to letting their children run around back and forth all day. * Water/Sewage/Gas bill - It's all in one bill. It's a percentage of your apartment size and something. I don't quite understand it. I just know that if my neighbor upstairs takes 5 baths a day, I'm the one paying for it along with all the other tenants.

My fiance and I moved into this apartment with some reservations at first but have since renewed our lease and will probably again at least one more time before we purchase a home. We looked at all the other apartments and some townhouses in the area but did not find anything that came close to what we saw at the Flats for this price. We chose a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom suite with a balcony that they finished remodeling just before we moved in and we love it. At first we were nervous to move into an apartment building because we are both light sleepers and were worried about excessive noise from the neighbors but we have had absolutely no problems with sound, especially at night. During the day it (mostly in the summer) it can get a little noisy outside with the lawn care going on and children playing in the grass but that itself isn't too disruptive and if you shut your windows you don't really hear it. But at night it is a very quiet complex. The walls aren't paper-thin like they are in a lot of newer places. Everyone we have met here has been friendly and the staff is great. They are so helpful and friendly and made us feel right at home. Maintenance always comes really quickly to fix any problems we have. The only downfalls to the apartment is that there is no laundry directly in the apartment but there is a laundry room on every floor that is easy to access. There also is not central air but there are two built in air conditions in the living room and main bedroom that get the job done just fine in the summer. Overall it has been a great place to live (and we have a great view from our balcony) and I'd definitely recommend it anyone looking to have a nice apartment for a reasonable price close to everything in Monroeville but without all the noise of the major roadways.

Our apartment at The Flats at Fox Hill is the best rental experience I have ever dealt with. From day one the staff was knowledgeable, courteous and helped us find the apartment we wanted. I am a light sleeper and I appreciate how quiet our apartment is and that I don't hear televisions or yelling from other apartments. Maintenance has been excellent and all problems have been fixed within a day. Overall, I like living at The Flats at Fox Hill because the apartments are modern and spacious, staff and maintenance are responsive and easy to deal with and I honestly have no complaints. The perfect apartment for picky people like me.

I have been a tenant at Fox Hill for almost a year now, and I absolutely love it here! We have a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath, and I couldn't say enough good things about this place! Everything is very well kept and clean, the office staff is a pleasure to talk to, and they are genuinely concerned about their residents! While they have raised their prices for the following year, they are very willing to work with their tenets to keep them happy and in an affordable living quarter! My neighbors are a joy to speak with and the noise level is practically non-existent! I would highly recommend The Flats at Fox Hill to anyone!!!! Keep up the fantastic work guys!!

The garden apartments are disgusting. They smell like curry all the time. The walls and carpets are dirty out in the hallways. One of the washers in the laundry room was broken for months. The laundry card machine was broken for about 3 weeks which is ridiculous. The walls are super thin so you hear everything your neighbors are doing. It is cheap so you are really paying for what you get. I know they are remodeling but unless your moving into the high rise apartments you will be disappointed. The actual apartment looks nothing like the models they show you. The positive aspect is that maintenance is really efficient. Management doesn't seem to be genuinely nice but they aren't BOLDLY rude. The gym is a joke. I have never seen anyone go to the pool or the so called tennis court. Like I said if you cant afford the high-rise don't move into that dump until the whole complex is remolded.

Where can I possibly start. This place is loud, scary, and dirty. I live here for 1 year and could not run out of the door fast enough. In fact I almost got into a fight the last day I was living here because that is how sweet your neighbors are. They must not run backround checks and I know they must accept section 8. I lived in a building where the washer was broke for atleast two months. Your clothes had to be put on atleast 3 cycles in the dryer. The kids run rampant no control. It smells horrible and the cleaning people who knows what in the world they do. The office did not make the renewal process easy which at this point I should send a thank you card because they were my main reason of getting the ---- out of there. The place has bed bugs I heard from multiple tenants. It is cheap and I suppose you get what you pay for. Good Luck you will need it!!

I had lived here for 4 years: 2013-2017. At first I loved it. The apartment was clean and brand new and I never really had any issues. That being said, it's slowly going down hill. The hallways of the buildings have anyways had a funky smell to them, which was easy to get over because it didn't follow into your apartment, but they were constantly getting trashed. There was pop slashed all over the walls that had stayed there for over 4 months! Neighbors were loud and inconsiderate, although when I did complain to the office staff they did take care of it. Once the office stopped expecting packages, me and my room mate both had multiple things stolen after they had said they were delivered. I know other tenants had these issues too! I never felt like i could get anything shipped there bc I was always to worried it would go missing. The maintenance men were great! Larry always made sure everything was fixed right the first time and was very friendly. I had quite a few issues over the years but everything was fixed fast. The girls in the office were always very helpful with any issues also. Always able to answer my questions and take care of issues quickly! The fire alarm went off at least twice a month, usually to someone burning food or smoking weed. The trash chutes were closed because people would just leave there trash all over the place inside of putting it into the actual chute. Then the dumpsters would be over flowing all over the parking lots bc people just starting throwing stuff on the ground. If the company would put actual security cameras up in the halls and common areas I think that would solve a lot of the crime and vandalism problems, but they just don't care and it's really sad.

Fox Hill is cheap and, I guess, you get what you pay for. The maintenance is pretty good at fixing things. It's really the front office that's a real pain in the neck. Whenever you have problems, they never want to help and are extremely rude. They are unfair in the way they do things for residents. For example, when assigning storage lockers they made you empty out your lockers with heavy suitcases and storage items and assigned you new ones all the way on another floor in the opposite corner of the building. Since I have a lot of things, going there every time I need something is a serious inconvenience. They promised the lockers would be painted and fixed when you were assigned new ones and instead they were just renumbered coated with ugly blue paint. My new locker has screws poking outward on the inside that are dangerous. In addition, the door doesn't close unless pushed with great force. The gym is a joke and you can't breathe there. Dont pay the 100 dollars for it. There are 3 machines inside a tiny room without windows, which doesn't really constitute as a gym, now does it? There is a TV. But don't get too happy, it doesn't work most of the time. They don't plow snow early enough in the winter and salt the roads too late. The plow usually comes out at 9, sometimes 8am. If you leave for work at 6 am like me, you will have a hard time getting out. ETA: they recently sent out a note that said residents should allow them 48 hours to properly clean snow. ...Am i supposed to call off work for two days every time it snows? The "new" remodeled apt are made with cheap materials. You can hear your neighbors do everything. The people on top of me just have to walk back and forth and I can't sleep. The guy next to me just has to listen to his TV a little loudly and I can hear it. The woman on the other side of me can be heard showering every morning. A final note: Laundry is too expensive. The laundry used to be $1.00 a load. Ever since the new management took over, the machines were raised to $1.50 a load. That annoyed me. Why? Because the dryers never dry properly in one load no matter how small the load is. I take my big laundry to laundromat. Recently, the laundry price was increased to $1.75 for a load. So, now, i have to pay $3.50 for one load of clothes to wash and dry. That's not even all the way true since you almost always have to pay for another drying load. In my opinion, it's a nice place to stay for three months in order to find someplace better. Like I said, the apartments are cheap and you get what you pay for. You've heard the facts. YOU decide.

If you would like to have a place to call "home," I would not recommend moving here. Every apartment has it's good and bad points, but the bad outweighs the good here. Good: *Prices are low and competitive with other apartments in the area *Pets (cats) are allowed *Apartments are a nice size *The office and maintenance staff are pretty nice *Good security lighting in the parking lot *Big window in living room *Big bedroom closet *Usually, it's fairly quiet *There is a lot of parking *Usually endless hot water (there have been a couple random occasions where there has been no hot water) Bad: *Laundry is overpriced. $1.75 to wash and $1.75 to dry, but one round on the dryer will never dry your clothes. *Good luck finding a clean laundry room or machines to do your laundry. I wipe mine down before I throw my clothes in. Today I had the pleasure of visiting two different laundry rooms to try to find a reasonably clean dryer. I finally had to settle for scraping gum off the inside of one washer drum because that was the best available option. *Someone is always leaving the windows open in the laundry rooms. This lets the stink bugs in. On more than one occasion, I have found a dead stink bug in the washer or dryer. *The building is never clean. It gets "cleaned" by a "cleaning company" once a week. Ha, so funny. Today was "cleaning" day; the hallways are still littered with trash and dead stink bugs. Once, somebody dropped eggs in the hallway. They were left there for at least two weeks, and you can see still the dried yolk matted into the carpet. *I just stopped using the trash chute altogether. People would constantly leave bags of trash or rotting food on the floor of the small closet-area with the trash chute. There was moldy food on the floor for at least a month, which is when I stopped using it. *There is a lot of trash and litter on the grounds that never seems to get picked up. *There is a constant weird smell in the hallways. *Neighbors smoke (not just cigarettes) in their apartments, and the smell will waft into yours. *The windows have horrible condensation in the winter; you can look forward to moldy windowsills in the spring. *Sometimes people let their kids hang out in the hallways, and they can be very loud but the parents do nothing. *When your friends come over, they will ask if it is safe for them to walk to their cars at night. *The renovations are cheaply done. There are bumps and cracks in the flooring. Random pieces of baseboard are missing and the painting is spotty. *When I moved in about a year ago, I was told the interior of the buildings would be renovated. Funny. The wall paper is ripped and coming off, the carpet is filthy, and nothing has been changed since I moved in. *People occasionally prop the building doors open for no reason. The front security door to the building breaks a lot. *The apartment was not cleaned thoroughly before I moved in. My father had to remove the covers from the heaters and clean out more dead insects than I care to remember, including a bumblebee that had been smushed and melted onto the heating element. Like I said; good and bad points. It's not the worst place ever, but it's far from the best. If I had it to do over, I would not move here. I plan to move in the next few months and am really looking forward to it.

The appliances and new flooring are awesome!!, I understand that they are still renovating some of the other apartments in the building but the noise is not bad at all. I grew up not too far from here and remember that it wasn t the best place to live, but the new company has completely made it a pleasure. I would highly recommend the community to anyone.

Parking, There is plenty of parking space but in the winter time the maintenance guys will only plow out a path way for you to get in and out of the complex. I've slipped a few times because they don't know how to plow or salt empty parking spaces. The main hill coming down is always very icy and not safe to come down in the winter time. Ive seen so many accidents happen in just one year of being here that I just have to say its unsafe. On the other hand, The parking lot is well lit, and there is a good amount of space. Noise, You can't really hear your neighbors that well in other apartments, How ever... you can hear domestic abuse and people screaming at each other out side at night. Grounds, I See that they are trying to make an effort in the upkeep of the grounds but its really nothing special at all. the pa Safety, I've never encountered any problems living here, But... There are a lot of shady people living in here. Construction, Everything in the apartments is cheap, The floors are linoleum and very easy to scratch, I have theory that the only reason why they put such cheap floors down is so that you can scratch them up easily, so you can't get your security deposit back. Walls are paper thin. You can hear perfectly hear a conversation going on in the next room behind closed doors. Grouting in the showers is awful, Paint splatters every where, and everything in the building just seems to fall apart. Maintenance, Is the worst. If you call in about anything, It will take them about 4 months to do anything. They never vacuum the hall ways or change light bulbs in any of the fixtures. Also in the winter time as I said before you will most likely fall due to the poor effort into shoveling a simple pathway. Staff, I will say the girls in the office are very nice. They seem willing and put a lot of effort into representing the complex as a great place to live. But as far as communication between them and the maintenance part of the staff, I can see something that they can work on a little better. Overall, I would not recommend living here. The hallways smell like curry and armpits. Its dirty, I don't like any of the neighbors, and everything is just piss poor. I don't like living here at all and my lease could not have run up any sooner.

You pay for what you get. As an apartment building/complex goes, Fox Hill Flats serves its purpose no more, no less. The walls are thin (although they tell you the walls are made of concrete and this is supposed to create a more solid sound barrier). We can hear our neighbors on all sides, and above. There used to be a couple next to us that screamed at each other so loudly, we thought they were going to kill one another. Then they disappeared and the man's car (with expired registration) was left abandoned in our parking lot for several months before it was removed. Honestly, the word ------ sums up Fox Hill Flats (or at least our specific building). The area where the garbage bins are (right beside the entrance and the area) is filthy and dirty. Residents don't seem to understand the concept of throwing garbage IN the bins and seem instead, to think that dumping garbage on the ground anywhere within a 10 foot radius is acceptable. The hallways smell horrible. Recently, someone vomited in our hallway (I took a photo of it below). We called maintenance to have the issue addressed. It was 2 days before anything was done about it. Back in the fall, someone spilled part of their milkshake/smoothie drink on the lobby area floor. It was over a week before anybody came by to clean this now dried/caked mess up. The neighbors are rowdy, in fact so much so, that sometimes while they are screaming/laughing/talking in the hall, I think there is someone on the other side of my bedroom door. The laundry rooms are filthy and it s become a game I play each time I do laundry - to see how little surface area of anything I can touch (having said this, they just increased the per load fees for washing and drying). That having said, the rent is very affordable. So like I said in the beginning, you pay for what you get. I'm surprised I haven't seen cockroaches and rats yet. Renter beware.

This "yes" recommendation is conditional. Our experience at the Flats at Fox Hill was a mixed bag truly. This review is based on our experience in a non renovated unit NOT located in the main building containing the leasing office. If you are new to the area and come from a different part of the country with newer development, something to be aware of is that most places, here in Pittsburgh's greater area, are old. The tendency for renovation is very much lacking. We looked at more than a handful of locations and finding an apartment with decent aesthetic and repair is like finding a "diamond in the rough." Compared to other cities we've lived in, this apartment was under average when it came to the unrenovated unit. Normally we wouldn't have considered a unit in such condition, but for the price and in this location, it doesn't get a whole lot better. Amazingly, this complex was one of the best we looked at for the price. Expect to pay more for a renovated unit. I can't help but state that the nice apartments you'd find in other cities for a decent competitive rate will run you over a grand a month here (and that's for a one bedroom!). Places like The Cork Factory Lofts (in style, aesthetics, layout, and updating), believe it or not, are more common and better priced in other cities in the country. I don't mean to sound snobby, this has just been our experience. It's been an adjustment and a major compromise putting it politely. Now that our expectations have been forcibly reduced and standards lowered to local realism, I'll get on with it. We rented here from January to July 2012. We needed to find a decent and reasonably priced place very quickly. The leasing staff were very understanding, friendly and helpful. Maintenance was very prompt. They usually responded to a request that same day or the next which is faster than where we currently live. The maintenance men were never unpleasant. It's a shame because the staff seem to do a decent job and the managing company is one of very few whom are doing renovation, but they are underscored by the aging buildings. The renovation of the rest of the property is very overdue. One reason we felt we couldn't stay was that the bathroom was in such a sad state, we knew it was just going to get worse. No amount of cleaning and re-caulking was going to improve the recurrence of mold on a disintegrating backing. I am holding back on ranting about it's condition. One might fare better in a renovated unit. Another reason was that we really missed having our own washer and dryer. The building seemed to only contain two of each per floor which is hardly enough for the amount of people residing there. That is if you can't wash during the middle of the day weekdays. Not to mention, the condition and cleanliness of the wash room on our floor made my skin crawl. It quickly became necessary to use a local laundromat. No offense to any, my cleanliness standards are exacting. The major final reason was that cigarette smoke, from other tenants around us, seeped into the cracks around the piping in the bathroom. I'm not a smoker and very much dislike when this issue occurs. Smokers smoking outside the front doors of the building sent smoke up to the windows of our apartment making it particularly troublesome trying to use a fan in the windows to curb the use of the air conditioning. It smelled so gross! After moving in and taking a closer look, it seemed doubtful that the unit had been professionally cleaned beforehand. Some pros and cons for your consideration: Pros: *Nice landscaping. Beautiful trees, but may aid in the stink bug problem. *Nice large windows in the living room. *Didn't seem to run into any issues with snow removal. *Walking distance to many establishments such as a CVS and strip mall. *Upper floors stay warmer in winter resulting in manageable electric bill. *Short term leases. *Parking lots are sizable with a good amount of parking. We couldn't always park very close, but there was always a parking spot available. *No break-ins, damage to our personal property, car etc. Never had a safety issue. *Central water heater for whole building. We never ran out of hot water. *Decent amount of cabinet space in kitchen. Cons: *Old buildings and mostly old appliances. No built in microwaves. *Common areas were dirty, abused and smelly. There was always a weird smell in the hallways! It doesn't infiltrate into the units as readily, but even our air conditioner smelled weird. *Police were seen in the building a couple times during our stay. I heard rumors that under previous management it was a worse place to live. *Much condensation at windows in winter causing water puddles on window sills that warp and ruin the sills. *Baseboard heaters are old and slightly rusty, but they do their job. *Some of the metal closet doors have bending in their slats. The metal shelving were stained/abused looking. Contact paper was my solution. *Awkward intersections and placement of yield sign that can be ignored at times. Witnessed one accident on premises. People do drive fast through the parking lot sometimes. *We saw children playing in common areas at times, loud and seemingly without parental supervision and they also play out in the parking lot. *Faux hard wood floor that was terribly bumpy because they are unable to smooth out the concrete underneath. Unfortunately it just wasn't installed very well. A better alternative to carpet for allergies. *Small bathroom, small shower, overall not good condition. *O the stink bugs! They are more of a problem here than where I currently reside. We caught stink bugs, spiders and house centipedes, but more so stink bugs. They like to congregate in the hallway lights and make a mass migration through the apartments to the outside in the springtime. *There was a couple that lived near us that had some domestic issues/arguments. Thankfully it did not persist. *You CAN hear your neighbors to the sides. It's not as bad as how well noises come into the apartment from the parking lot and main door to the hallway. The building really creaks during storms. The lights flicker during storms, but rarely go out. *Fox Hill does not allow dogs or exotic pets. (More of a personal con) *Kitchen cabinets at closer inspection seemed dusty and old. *Our junk mail was always addressed to other units. I'm guessing the mailman just gave everyone wrongly addressed junk mail to quicken the delivery process. *The fire department responded to a carbon dioxide leak in the boiler room on the ground level of our building, from what we understand. No exaggeration, the building fire alarms are so loud they hurt one's ears. Yes, I know this is lengthy, but I hope this helps your decision. If you are seriously deciding to rent at the Flats at Fox Hill, my recommendation would definitely be to choose a renovated unit. You may require the use of a local laundromat as there are no hook-ups for a personally owned washer and dryer. The managing staff were kind, helpful and prompt. The aging buildings really are working against them. I'm very grateful nonetheless. We had no problems upon moving out. We received our security deposit back in the time frame promised. I bid you good luck!

I live here and I see many crappy reviews. I have never experienced the problems people list. I hardly see my neighbors, and hear them even less. This is not a sections 8 housing, it once was but a new company bought it years ago and raised the standards. There is a field where kids play which is cute, I heard them once yesterday at about 3pm playing outside. Nothing wrong with that. I think people get together for volleyball on nice days out there, I should join that. Washers have always worked for me.. they did raise the price a quarter last year.. but oh well. Dryers works when not over filled, if I fill it with towels it will have to be run again understandably. Only time I ever noticed a smell was labor day because the garbage pick up was not running on that holiday. It was taken care of that next day. If I have to complain, I would say it's the fact that I never see my neighbors. I would like to meet more of them and have cook outs and just hang out. Usually only get a polite hello while picking up my mail in the mailbox room. I remember someone posting a complaint about the carpets in the hallways here (I get emails when people post her since I posted here before) and 2 days later ALL of them were steamed clean. I kinda want to hang some extra pictures I have in my section of the hallway. When I moved in 2 years ago, my flat had just finished being renovated days before. Granite counters, new appliances, fresh paint. Floors are easy to keep clean and no carpet means no allergy problems for me. I guess the experience depends on the tenant.. Plenty of parking, I live on the first floor and still rarely hear other people. THe grounds aren't bad, most of it is pretty good, other parts they are in the process of improving and should be very nice when done. The field and pavilion area is very cool, I had lunch out there last month and a little kid ran up to me as asked if I saw a few other little kids he was trying to find. It's nice to know all the kids can play together. The staff was a main reason we took the place. Had experienced some very rude landlords the day we were looking at various places. I remember once being almost snobby and I can only guess that the reason was because I'm 24 and was looking at their very very nice place. I would have taken it if they had been nice to me. After looking at that place, we came here. The staff was very helpful and super nice. Which was refreshing. For this apartment being a third cheaper yet just as nice, I was sold. Cats are allowed here so I once jokingly asked if I was allowed to get a tiger. The office said only if they could come up and pet it. Feel free to ask me about this place.. my lease is over at the end of the year and I might get a house, but if not, I'll probably stay.

                                      Absolutely Awful

I am a tenant at Fox Hill and have been renting with this company for just over six months. I have been living in apartments for 7 years and this has been the worst experience thus far. The building is NOT secure due to people leaving the side doors propped open daily. My fiance and I have complained several times about children playing ball in the parking lot and hitting vehicles, which has never been resolved. We had no hot water for the first 4 months of living there, we made several phone calls about it and every person that responded to the complaint stated there was nothing wrong. The last complaint we made about this issue, we were rude about it because we were very fed up with not being able to take a hot shower or wash our dishes in hot water. After complaining for the seventh time they sent down the maintenance manager who finally took care of the problem (which took 2 weeks to correct). Other tenants in the building, not all, are very rude and inconsiderate. We have had to call the police on multiple occasions for violent domestics, loud music, people smoking pot in the parking lot, and the list goes one. The up keep of the grounds in the winter are horrid. We've seen multiple accidents coming down the driveway because they do not plow, salt, or shovel any of the snow. The only road that is ever clear is the side road to building #3 where they keep the appliances for new apartments. When we signed the lease we were told that they are no longer accepting section 8 applications and by January of 2012 all of the section 8 occupants would be gone. This, however, is not true. There are still section 8 occupants in the apartments. Don't be fooled by the remodeled apartments. The floors are cheap, their painting of the apartments are sloppy, there is barely any room in the cupboard in the kitchen (which is definitely their selling point), as well as other things. The smoke detectors in the apartment do not work properly (and yes there is one that is hardwired into the system). The fire department and police are constantly there (at least 3 times a week). This place is definitely way over priced. Living there has caused more stress than it should. In addition to this, you shouldn't have to worry about your personal safety walking into your "home" at night. This review really doesn't do justice to the horrible experience we have had. The bottom line is, do not fall for the hype that the leasing office gives you during your tours and lease signings. This place is insecure, dangerous, poorly maintained, and has a horrible public atmosphere. My recommendation is look else where despite the lies you are told by the leasing office.

Me and my boyfriend moved in a couple months ago. We love it here. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. They have been great from the very begining. This was my first experience with living in an apt they made me feel comfortable during the application process. Our apt was clean and updated when we moved in. It has plenty of room and has lots of natural light. We live in building 3, the common areas are kept up pretty well and it is pretty quiet. The neighbors are friendly. Any problems we have had, which were all minor have been quickly taken care of. I can not say enough good things about the maintenance staff. They are fast and efficient. I love that I can send a request for maintenance through the website.

I wanted to take a minute today to correct previous comments made prior to 2011. I was looking for a reasonable place to live in the PGH area because I wanted to be closer to my work. I seen several apartments on different sites but something about The Flats at Foxhill caught my eye. First and foremost they have an online application which I really like because it saves time. Second it's under new management and the staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. They were very accommodating to my schedule and that was something that I also appreciated. Third, the apartment is nice and very spacious for what you will pay in rent relative to what else is around the area. You're close to the city as well as the many various business/restaurants that are in Monroeville - right off of William Penn. I'm seriously happy with my move and have had a great experience thus far. If you're looking for a place I would recommend this one!

This Place was a pleasant surprise. I was looking at a few places in the Monroeville area, and I couldn't find anything I liked. Pittsburgh area apartments aren't nearly as nice as Atlanta where I'm from. This was one of the last places I came too, and I was praying it would be nice. When I entered the complex, I was like "Heck NO, I'm not living in this dump." But since it was the last place, I decided to check it out. It's a good thing I did, because the inside completely changed my mind. It's very nice. I spoke with the people in the leasing office, and they are all some of the nicest people I've spoken too. They explained that the complex in under new ownership, and EVERYTHING is being remodeled. They showed me the apartments, and they are very nice. New hardwood floors, nice and spacious, and at a good price. There are two types of apartments, one with all new kitchen appliances and bathroom, and one without the updated kitchen and bathroom. I chose the one without because it was still very nice. They also gave me a 32in 1080p HD Samsung Flatscreen television as a move in gift!!! I couldn't believe it! I've never heard of that before. They had other options as well, ipad2, free months rent after 6 month, or gift card I also like the complex because there is a nice mix of people here. I wanted to be around a young crowd, and there are quite a few people in their 20's. Pros: 1. Very Nice staff. They are very helpful 2. Maintenance people are fast and fix any problems u might have. 3. Apartments are Very nice. 4. Nice group of people living here. 5. Free Gym with brand new equipment 6. LOCATION!!! Nice area. I'm no more than 15 min away from ANYTHING!! So great. Restaurants, shopping mall, work, downtown, church, LA Fitness, etc. are all right down the street Cons: 1. The grounds are shabby.(However, they are updating the grounds as well. New pavilion, cutting down trees, planting new shrubbery and plants, fixing up the pool and tennis area.) 2. Security in my build is lax at the moment because of the construction.(Construction people keep blocking the doors from closing. Not too hard to get in the apartment at the moment) In between: 1. While construction can be annoying...the place is gonna look really nice when it's done.

When I walked into the main building I was shocked! the difference was night and day. Everything looked brand new. The upgrated room looked great with heard wood floors, brand new appliences and a great price. The place looks a little shabby but the apartments themselves look great! I met with the lease staff, they were all very nice. the maitinance man even intorduced himself and showed us his apartment. I got a deal on the 1 bedroom just because I asked which knocked off 60 bucks a month. After looking around at other places I was sold on Fox hill. I couldnt beat the price for what an upscale apartment I was getting. On top of everything since I put a deposit down on the same day they offered me a move in gift. An Ipad 2! I know the place looks run down but they are putting a lot of work into it and I'm sold on the benifits, well minus the fact that there is no W/D in unit. Give it a chance and join this new young commmunity.
