Initial Contact
I walked in on Sat 13th Aug 2011 for lease inquiry. I got an enthusiastic response from Lindsey who answered all my questions including negative ratings and I was satisfied with her response. I can see that a new management has taken over this apartment complex and spending a good deal of money to turn it around. I checked out the remodeled 1 bed apt and they looked great, ready to move in. I'm still exploring my options and may close on one soon. I'm recommending this place for the recently remodeled flats. I do think this place deserves an opportunity and it's is my personal opinion. Regards, afuturerenter

Actually I needed an appartment for a short term (6 months) lease and also I was in a rush to find a place to live as I already spent $1000 for 3 weeks staying in a motel ( In Town Suites). Ayway, when I went to the leasing office, the lady (Ms.Jnnifer) showed me the model appartment. Then next day I came back to see the appartment which I was going to take. The appartment looked nice, I took it and I have asked her to prepare the lease fot 6 months ( Jul'10-Dec'10) but she made the lease for a year, thank to the almight that I read the lease and caught it, she said that she didn't knew abt it which was a pure lie. It was summer, I moved in on July 1st a hot-humid day and when I walked into the appartment, my bed room A/C was not working and after complaining, It took them 17 days to replace it ( I had to sleep in my living room for 17 days). Their management office staffs are very rude and no matter what your problem is, they will always tell you that " I'm writing the ticket for our maintanance dept. and they will fix the problem as soon as they are done with their current job." The complex is very in-secured. I went to the pool oneday arounf 3pm with my wife, was in the pool for abt 20 mins and saw abt 7-8 boys agtherd at the corner of the pool area and started smoking something which smels like weed, we didn't feel safe at that point and left the place right at that moment. Even the pool guy was kinda scared to say anuthing to those men. This place really felt like a slum...I just stayed because already signed the lease and my work place was very close to my hose. Now I moved to VA, living in one of the great area in Alexadria. FINALLY...I STRONGLY RECOMEND THAT THIS FOX HILL APPARTMENT IS NOT AT ALL A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE WITH YOUR FAMILY AND CHILDREN.

A sad decline
This was once a decent place to live, but over the years it has declined terribly! You can expect unpleasant neighbors who are loud, likely to just dump their trash anywhere, and extremely poor repairs and upkeep. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone!

I lived in building 4. Everything was exceptional until Shirley and Tom (the management) left. The building was kept clean, the management was helpful and was always there for you if you had a problem. The maintenance was very good and professional. Then the new management fired Big Tom and everything was down hill from there. They have been through 3 or 4 guys since then that do not know what they are doing. They couldn't fix anything or they robbed you. I think they hired a professional thief instead of a maintenance man. We missed Tom and felt safe when he worked here and knew he could fix anything and be trusted in our apartment whether we were home or not. Firing the best maintenance man was the worst mistake they ever made. That's why I moved out.

To tell the truth.I have been a Tenant at Fox Hill Apartments for more than three years and have not have any problems. The Maintenance Department is very excellence They will response to your problem when you called them right away.About a year after l have been living there, my Refrigirator was having some problems.I called the Office and a bright new one was brought in the next day.The hard-working Ladies who keep the Hall ways CLEANED are very courteous and always busy. They do a fantastic job of keeping the Hall Ways clean The grounds are always Well Maintained. There new Office Staffs are the best. The Manager Roselyn Schemidt and all of them in the Office are the Best. They will work with you if you have a problem. There are very very Freindly and Courteous. I moved out on 10/31/09 because My Employer Transfered me to another States.I told the Manager that l wanted them to Know that l will definately recommend the Fox Hill Apartments to anybody looking for a quite and peacefull place to call Home in Pittsburgh or Monroeville Area.So please as you are reading this reveiw you should have confidence and go ahead rent from Fox Hill Managment. There are a few issues l need to also mention here which l think there are very important for the Owner of Fox Hill Management.I was living in Building One and I was on the third Floor. The Owner. You need to install Elevators in those Buildings. Here are my reasons: 1, Retired Elderly people who have Money and want to rent an Apartment there now in the Garden Apartment can not do so because they have to Climb Four set of Stairs. 2, You have the very best of Employees Working for you right now. They need a Services Elevator to be able to get to the third Floor. It is extemely hard to carry heavy equipments to the second third Floors without an Elevator.I feel bad each time I see the Maintenance Guys struggling with a Refrigirator to the third Floor. 3, Management should stress out that Parents have to advice their Kids to repect the Property. 4, The Camera in Building One should be Fixed immediately. 5, The light bulbs in Hall Ways and Stairs should be replaced as soon as they burned out. That is a safety issue because someone is going to miss a stair and fall down the Stairs and end up in a Hospital. 6, Any form of solicitation or use of forbiden substance(s) on the Property will be cause for immediate Eviction. The Fox Hill Apartment is one of the very best in The Monroeville area and should be protected from abuse in anyway.I will again 100% recomend this Apartments to any One looking to rent an Apartment in Monroeville,PA.

Be careful.
This place has turned downhill. Over 90% of the tenants break into other apartments and steal belongings of others. Drug dealing occurs on a regular basis. Cops frequently stop by as a result of numerous calls. It is also louder than college dorms, because the tenants simply do not care. For a good while the foreigners used to play outside in the parking lot at night, which made the area feel safer. Now that the manager forced them to stop- the criminals are out and about even more.. and getting away with it! Be careful if you choose to live here because it can get scary.

Was Ok, then It All Changed
When we moved in, in 2007, we were happy with Fox Hill, the office was nice, the maintenance was great, then, after several office management changes, it all started to change. The building we lived in became dirty, never cleaned. Domestic disputes breaking out in the hallways, stairwells, and lobby of the building. Finding out someone was shot in the neighboring building, babies falling out of windows. This place is a joke. DO NOT LIVE HERE. People that lived here for 20 years are moving out now. I also heard it became section 8 approved, which could also be a big part of the downturn. If you are smart, you will rent somewhere else.

Fox Hill Slums
I lived in here and couldnt wait for my lease to end. My neighbor was paying 25.00 to live in the same apartment I was paying 600. for. And during the day they steal anything that isnt nailed down. Beware of this place!

USED TO BE GREAT
I have lived at Fox HIll 6 years; when I moved there it was wonderful; clean, quiet, reasonably priced. Now it is the projects of Monroeville. They now are HUD/Section 8 and let anyone move in. The people don't care about the place thus it's a mess; cars speeding thru the lots playing loud music. It annoys me that I work hard to pay the whole amount of my rent and utilities and then there are people moving in that don't pay rent and don't care about wrecking the place. The manager Shirley has no clue how to run a rental community. This place is true ------!

worst of the worst
I didnt have to pay for water but the electric was outrageous. Their idea of fixing something was use duct tape. Shirley the apt. manager is very unprofessional and will rent to anyone. Well recently they started doing criminal checks because half the tenants were criminals. Spend a little more and go elsewhere

Watch Out for Additional Fees!
The rent might be low when comparing to surrounding apartments. But they didn't tell you that water and sewage costs $30 per month! And when signing the contract, the lady worked there told me that heat would be coverd by landlord, however it turned out I had electrical heating, and my monthly electirc bill is $80 (for single person)!!!

Fox Hill is Wonderful
I love my spacious one bedroom apartment. You can't beat the price. I got my apartment on special for $399 / month. The staff is wonderful. They fix things right away. I enjoy spending time at the pool. <br>

Crime, Drugs, What are you people reviewing?
If you go to the laundry and leave the door unlocked don't expect anything of value to still be there when you get back. People have been robbed in the hallways. Its a security building but its the people who live in here that you have to be afraid of. The heat is baseboard electric which is outrageous and not very warm. This is the ------ in Monroeville. Read the Times Express police blotter Fox Hill is in it regular. And dont let them fool you by telling you they check criminal records. Two people originally move in and then move in 6 more a week later. Horrible experience. Shirley the manager should be fired!

Loved Fox Hill
This apartment complex is great. Its close to down town. Very close to shopping and downtown Monroeville, but in a quiet area. My boyfriend and I loved living here. Wonderful apartments, very spacious, not too expensive, and very nice people. The staff is always cleaning and upkeeping the buildings. Very nice apartment complex.

Not too bad
This place is not too bad for the money you pay. You get a lot of space, the management is courteous and prompt in attending to problems. Something could probably be done to improve the look of the apartment building and the corridors inside. Close to a lot of shopping and good restaurants.

Can get noisy at times but I guess everywhere does. Maintainance very prompt and efficient. Could use more security people working longer hours. In winter parking lot and hill are cleaned quickley.
