Staff is rude as hell, after I moved out they tried charging me $500 extra for 'damages' when absolutely nothing was wrong with the apartment. Plus the damages I reported when I first moved in were never fixed and now they tryna charge me tuh

I have been here at Brook Pines for five years. I've never had an issue with any of the workers here. If I had a workorder or. An issue it would be taken care of accordingly and on a timely manner. Thank you so much for being home.

My experience at Brook Pines has been very delightful. I love the wood scenery and the office staff always tries to stay on top of the simple things I ask them to do.Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for affordable housing and good quality.

Spoke to current resident and they stated the have been at Brook Pines for five years and said they definitely recommend for me to move there. I will be submitting my application in may to hopefully move.

It seem as a great place to stay when I went to take a tour. People seems nice and the apartment I tour is clean and I saw some dirty apartments before. Anyways what do they specifically look at when doing a credit check though?

I love this community because it is quiet and spacious. The staff are friendly and professional. I'm glad I moved here! The process to move in was quick and simple. You can pay your rent online which is awesome.

Worst Living experience I have had. Dangerous and rundown area. Apartment heavily smelled like smoke and was impossible to get rid of. Made up false reasons to deduct from my security deposit I was due to receive after moving out including: resurfacing bathtub, stains, and charred drip pan. Overall, terrible experience and will tell anyone it is a terrible idea to live there.

I have been a resident here since November, I must say it is lovely. Despite the negative things I was told about the complex and the staff, I am very pleased. I recently had a maintenance issue on today, however, I was EXTREMELY pleased and satisfied with how fast and pleasantly Cory, responded and handled it. Thank you guys so much.

Office is open everyday, maintenance replays in a reasonable time to request. The apartment complex is really neat and clean, affordable apartment and a overall great complex.

I moved into these apartments in late December. I was grateful to have a cheaper apartment because I was getting cheated out of money with my last apartments. When I first moved in, I had a problem with my toilet but the maintenance crew fixed it the next day. The neighborhood is quieter than I expected and I also don't have to worry about dodging deer in the street.

I ENJOY LIVING HERE...This is a large and diverse community complex and the most negative thing I have to say is you should expect to hear your neighbors; the walls and floors are connected - dah (their company, children and pets at some point and time. There is no neighborhood or apartment complex that is completely quiet unless your in the country with nothing in sight for miles (been there!!! lol). Living here is affordable and very convenient to public transportation and the Wal-mart neighborhood market. It is in walking distance (across the street). There is a multitude of other stores and services along the Broad River Rd strip and not to forget the easy access to I-20 and I-26. The staff is there for you; from the management office personnel to maintenance. No problem, issue or request is to small or big. Everyone is very polite, courteous and professional. Even the contractors (like painters, carpet cleaners, exterminators etc.) are nice too. The upkeep of the complex is fantastic!!! The grounds are maintained nicely. The swimming pool is monitored regular to adhere to regulations and policy. There always seem to be enough parking space for the residents and guest. The rooms are of ample size and I have plenty of closet space. An unexpected feature was the dishwasher and garbage disposal (being this is an affordable older apartment complex - NICE TOUCH!!!).The only suggestion I have is an amenity; I wish this complex had a fitness center. Overall I would recommend this community to anyone interested. This is a place you can truly call home. :-)

This is a great apartment for the price. They are quick to handle all maintenance issues. For the most part the office staff is friendly and helpful. It's actually pretty quiet out here, however there is a slight bug problem. The complex treats the issue but its still an issue.

Overall, Brook Pines is worth the relatively low rent. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. Staff and maintenance are both friendly. The complex is owned by a corporation, so sometimes the staff has to check in with corporate before they can make a decision. Maintenance is timely, considerate, and willing to explain what repairs are necessary. No, this is not the safest part of the city. However, there are streetlamps on every corner and lights above every doorway. The apartment itself does have some problems. The toilets have very low flushing power. Just part of having older pipes. It takes awhile for hot water to turn on and the faucets tend to leak. The rest of the problems can be traced back to cheapness and whoever actually sets up the apartments before the tenant moves in. Bad paint jobs; broken drawers; dirty cabinets; electrical plates not screwed in properly. Everything is fixable and maintenance will take care of it, but it shouldn't be a problem in the first place.

I've lived in Brook pines since Febuary of 2016 and for the most part had no major problems until recently. My apartment became infested with fleas. Now, I hadn't had a dog for nearly 3 months AND when I did have my dog he was legally on the lease and treated for fleas, and heart worms. I rehomed my dog due to my rigorous work schedule as an EMT. I worked 12 hour shifts at night and it wasn't fair to my dog. i didn't think to have him taken off the lease! My neighbors got a new puppy and within a two weeks my apartment had fleas! I tried to spray myself but realized they were coming through the vents and walls. I contacted the office and was told that the exterminator only comes on Thursday. It was Monday. So I was polite and waited. I couldn't stay in my apartment and started driving an hour to stay with my gf. On the next Friday I went and inspected my apartment. Immediately I was covered in fleas. I went to the office and they informed me that the bug guy had sprayed and he would come back in a week. I tried to explain that I couldn't live there and that by the time NEXT Thursday got here I would be carried away by the fleas but they didn't care and told me the office manager would call me Monday to discuss prorating my rent. I never received a call! So I called her and she was extremely rude. I have never been so disrespected and talked down to in my life! I was told the fleas were my fault and told I had no common sense. I was told not only would my rent not be prorated for the 2.5 weeks I hadn't been able to live there but that I was being charged for the exterminator! My apartment is very clean! Even the exterminator said it! The fleas aren't coming from me and my apartment is infested and unsafe to stay in! Fleas do carry diseases! It's going on 3 weeks and I haven't been able to live in my apartment or get my stuff! And the staff have been very rude and refuse to return my calls! I've never had to break a lease and I'm a good resident! But I'm being treated like crap. Do not rent here. I had been recommending the place until now. But unless you like fleas, a lot, move somewhere else! And from reading the reviews on here, I'm not the first to have insect infestations! Luckily I have enough COMMON SENSE to go to the housing authority, as well as health and human services. And my cousin is a lawyer. I really had no intentions of it having to go this far. I only asked for help. Driving an hour to and from work is very tiring and expensive! Also, the apartments is ate up in crime. I don't go outside after dark and my apartment smells like weed constantly bc my neighbors smoke it and it comes through the old duct system. I'm an EMT I do not use any type of drugs! But I'm sure they'd say that my fault too!

Brook pines, well the entire move in process for me was less then a week. There is still a bug problem, seems its been that way since '06 from the beginning of these reviews. The roaches come out of small cracks in the kitchen walls along with the bathroom for some reason, it became a problem after the flood happened, before that o RARELY saw one, now its very often, even after they spray. I will be getting traps now because its just annoying, they seem to be in the walls. Another problem would still be parking, which could be handled by assigning spots, or at least painting spots because people seem to park slanted and take up more room then needed. I dont use the laundry services here but they recently replaced everything. Over then that the rent is cheap, just get used to the walls being thin and be smart with how you store your things. This place has nothing against some places ive lived in up north.

I've been here since September 2015 and have relatively few complaints. Anything that I have brought to the attention of the office has been fixed promptly. 24 hour maintenance and security is a really nice feature, although I have seldom had to use them. My neighbors are SUPER loud pretty much all the time, and there are only so many times you can complain about them before you become an annoyance to anyone, staff included. I do wish the office would send out a reminder flyer to remind everyone, "hey, you're in an apartment, the walls aren't exactly built like a bunker, so keep the noise down and respect your neighbors." The only other thing I could complain about would be parking...there is almost never space on the front row, and often not on the second row either, resulting in having to park in overflow. People will have visitors and not tell them to park in overflow, or throw parties or whatever, so everyone takes up the first row. But really, when you think about it, stuff like that is negligible. The rent is decently cheap, electricity costs can be kept within a budget, and water is included. Shannon is caring and nice, and definitely does what she says she'll do. I haven't had too much interaction with others in the office, but they seem nice enough, I suppose. I love how close the complex is to everything, it's only minutes to get to restaurants, shopping, and the like. Bottom line, it is a great complex and well worth it.

Awful cant wait to get out. Maintenance don't come when needed, but they do come when you not home and steal things. The staff is very rude as if they pay your rent. The manager they have now was no better then the last manager. How their office look better then the apartments, they put the money we pay them to stay here; all in the office and not in the repairs of the apartments. I have been here since 2008 and nothing has changed. Always hearing fights and gun shots. At this point I am more then willing to pay higher rent for better service.

This place rents out to any and all criminals that you can think of. Don't be stupid and rent from here. You'll have items stolen from you, neighbor had his car stolen from him in the complex. I've never seen such a trashy area, this isn't Chicago. Clean up who you let rent, it's not that complicated to do. This place is more focused on making money than residents safety.

I am currently a resident at the Brook Pines apartments. I have been staying here for five months and I have had nothing but problems. False accusations of dogs, loud music, and recently thing have been missing out of my apartment. I stay alone, im on the third floor, and there has been no damages to my door. Clearly it was an inside job! I do not recommend this apartment complex to anyone!!!
