Bad way to treat new tenants
The managment treats residents as if they have no value as to what they are saying. For over two weeks I was talked down too just because there emplyees did not do there job. They want to charge you for damages to the apartment but they do not want to take the responsability when it is there fault for the damages. As soon as I moved in water was all over the kithen and dining room floor. It was from water coming from a non working a/c unit that they felt was working just fine. It took over a week for them to finally come to the conclution that the water needed to be cleaned up. I was treated as though I was imagining the water that caused mold to grow in the unit. My unit was so hot I could not sleep inside what I was paying for. I had to sleep outside by the pool with my child because they felt that it was cooling the way it should only because I could manipulate it to get atleast 80 degrees at night. No person paying to live anywhere should be talked down to like I was. Een after they hae come to the conclution that I was not exadurating they had someone come fix mine after a un ocupied unit was fixed. Lets just say nothing has been offered to ompensate me or even an apology to being treated like I was. If managers and managment companies learned how to deal with situations better there would be a lot more happier residents.

Great Improvements
I just read a terrible review of this place and I can tell you that she is dead wrong at least for how it is NOW. We moved here last Summer and I would definitely recommend living here. The office people are very nice and more responsive than the last places I lived BY FAR!!! We have only had two maintainence requests and one was was easy. The other was a problem with our ac and the guy came over right away. He needed a part, but they got them that same day and it was fixed. Very good in my opininon.

Worst managment EVER!!
I lived here with my fiance for a year. We had the loft apartment. It was nice on the inside but the kitchen was very small and the only bathroom was upstairs (I was pregnant at the time too). The stair way is extremly narrow and the second step started to change color, like something was seeping through. We had a leak in our bathroom that eventually ruined our kitchen ceiling and cabinets. After the leak was fixed they wanted US to pay for it. Our patio door only had a security bar that didnt work most of the time. We were 2 days late on our rent at one point and we got an eviction notice..after 2 days!! WTF! Did I mention we paid it before they gave the notice to us? Our ac broke constantly, and the people in the office are the worst to deal with. A man named Cole was the manager when I was there, but it has changed hands since. There are also alot of drug deals and I've even seen a prostitue or two. Not a good place for family. I wouldnt even wish my enemies to live in these conditions.

Overall Good.
I moved to Bryan/College for a job opportunity in July of 2006. Needless to say, the apartment market gets pretty tight just before the beginning of the college semester, so I had few choices. I needed something under $500 with washer/dryer connections and luckily, I found WilloWind just in time. I pretty much enjoyed my stay at WilloWind for the year I was there. I moved out in July of 2007 and some changes were made to the complex and the management during my stay. I would have renewed my lease had I not desperately wanted to get out of Bryan/College Station and go back to Houston. But for all the pros, there were definitely some cons. Here's a list of my experiences, good and bad. Pros: 1. Free gym membership to Aerofit, the local Bryan gym. It's not a designer gym as it has the most basic equipment and closes at 11:00, but it helped me get off my butt and lose 25 lbs! 2. Quiet and safe grounds. I walked my trash to the dumpsters at all hours of the night without feeling even the slightest bit paranoid, and I'm a 5'2" 120 lb girl! 3. Plentiful parking. I routinely had friends come over and park right in front of my apartment without issues. 4. Rent discounts. My name was pulled for paying my rent early twice and I received $100 off my rent, which was already dirt-cheap at $495. 5. Good area/location. Bryan definitely has some sketchy areas far removed from civilization. WilloWind is 2 minutes away from Blinn, Walmart, HEB, jogging/dog parks, and countless restaurants and shopping as well as 5 minutes from Historic downtown. Funky! Cons: 1. Old old old fixtures and appliances. The hot water dial on my bathtub broke twice and leaked hot water in a steady stream for days, causing steam damage to everything in the bathroom, including the wallpaper, which I paid for out of my security deposit. The door even swelled so much that I couldn't close it. My washing machine never got hot water because the hot water dial was broken. The A/C unit consumed too much power and made odd suction noises when I tried to cool my apartment down below 78 degrees. 2. Some repairs take forever to service, if at all. I have to be fair - a lot of the repairs I called in were taken care of within 24 hours with no problems. But the first time my hot water bathtub dial broke, the repairman never came and it leaked a steady stream of hot water for a week! When I physically went to the office to figure out why it had not been repaired, they claimed that they had tried to repair it, but that they did not have a key to my apartment and could not get in. (?!) I had to accompany the repairman to a key-making facility so they could make a copy of my apartment key. Classy! 3. They will not have the Aerofit membership card about half of the time. In order for a resident to make good use of the free Aerofit membership, they have to get a membership card at the office to be allowed into the gym. The office did not have any cards about half of the time. A lot of times, I would have to jog at the local high school or at a park. WilloWind should just catch up with the times and get a fitness center. I know, it's not an essential thing, but I'm a firm believer in exercise and its health benefits, and if an apartment offers a free gym membership, they should have the cards available at all times. If they find that their cards are consistently checked out, then that shows that their residents are interested in their fitness and that they should invest in a fitness center. 4. Shoddy appearance. WilloWind has recently raised its rent due to some renovations. They were sorely needed, as the stairs were rusting and the parking lot was peppered with potholes and broken concrete. But to be honest, the renovations were cheaply done and not very pleasing. I have seen property managers go to extreme lengths to renovate older apartments and attract tenants, from wood floors to modern light fixtures without raising the rent above $550 (check out Houston's Montrose/Museum District). But that's just personal taste. 5. The pet deposit is ridiculous. I had a small cat I wanted to bring to Bryan with me. The flat pet deposit was $400 per pet, no matter what the size. This may have changed under the new management. Overall, I had a good experience at WilloWind. You get what you pay for, and for the price, this apartment gave me relatively few issues. I think I got an excellent deal while I was there and I have already recommended this apartment to a friend who is also satisfied with his move.

We are just a rent check
The changing staff is an issue, the current management promises you one thing but a month later the new management denies it. One of the biggest problems with these apts is that they are old and the utilites are extremely high in part because of the old A/C's units in the apts (this was confirmed by BTU) These people do not care about keeping loyal renters, once your contract is up the rent goes sky high. I lived there for one year and I was quite, paid my rent in advance and would have stayed but the new rent offer was at least 1/3 higher than before. Goodbye Willow Wind!!

I love these apartments
This is my first apartment and since the day I moved the the staff has been very helpful and nice. I was here 2 days and my hot water heater busted while I was at work. They called me to let me know what was going on and by the time I got home a new one was installed and everything was cleaned up and almost dry. I counldn't ask for a more helpful or freindly staff. You can tell the apartments are older but overall i would highly recommend them to anyone.

Great place
I have lived in a one bedroom with my boyfriend for the past year and a half and while there has been, as many reviews say, a lot of staff turnaround, the new staff has done nothing but great things. One manager isn't going to turn me away from a great living environment. I talked to Lou and some of the other employees and expressed my concern and as a result, the owners have made a complete turnaround of the properties and the new management and staff is awesome. I had a leak in my bathroom and it was fixed that day. The pricing is extremely reasonable for the service and security you're going to get. Some of the staff even lives in the apartments, so you know you'll always have someone there to take care of you should you need help after hours. What more could you ask for?

Great place to live
I moved here for a job from a large city and was impressed with the size and quality of all of the apartments I viewed in Bryan and College Station. I ultimately chose Willow Wind in Bryan for the location, it doesn't feel like a college dorm, and the feeling that management took an interest in me as a resident and not as merely a rent check every month. I also enjoyed the sense that I lived in a community rather than a "complex". Having left Bryan in the last few months for another job tranfer, I find myself missing the staff and community of Willow Wind. Apartment life can be very cold and impersonal, but Willow Wind is neither of those things. If you're looking for a community in the Bryan-College Station area, stop by Willow Wind and I'm sure you'll be glad you did.

Don't live here
at first, when i moved in, they seemed helpful, pricing seemed reasonable and management and staff was good. Soon, I realized that staff is constantly changing. New management took over. A woman name Lou is now there. There have been security issues with "flashers", "drugs", etc. I've never experienced this, but we've been made aware of it. My biggest complaint is with management who is extremely ignorant and unhelpful right after lease signing. Lou does not have "time" to deal with you. She is rude and ignorant and does not deal with apartment issues, does not have "time" for tenents. Don't expect issues to be taken care of promptly. Don't expect to be listened to or taken seriously. She has a "stick up her ---" for lack of better words and could care less about you or any issues you may have. I recommend STRONGLY against this place. Do not be fooled by the kindness they portray up until lease signing. Once under contract, you can forget about it. If anyone reads this post in the near future and finds out the ownerships contact information, please post it, because I am having difficulty locating the information and would like to place a formal complaint so they are aware of their managment's behavior. This place is not worth it. Please, for your own sake, do not come here. At least not under this management.

where to start...
On initial appearances I was very pleased with my apartment. I got new carpeting and most of the other fixtures are old but if something breaks down they repair it quickly. Even though the employees in the office always seem to be changing, they are helpful and go out of their way to work with their tenants. Rent, I belive, is also pretty reasonable for the area. Parking is also excellent.

That said...I have several issues. First, these apartments are old and poorly made, resulting in abnormally high power bills. My bills averaged between $75 and $115 a month (even without air or heat!!); my friends who live in houses in BCS have cheaper power bills than me. Second, I don't feel safe here. Even after the peeper was caught I don't feel safe walking around here at night. There are rumors of major drug deals going on, but I haven't actually seen anything. Just some domestic disputes every now and again. My neighbors are extremely rowdy, noisy, and inconsiderate (meaning, shouting and yelling at 3 am on a Monday morning). Complaints seem to have no effect on this, and the management is in no way poised to kick out noisy tenants, as has been the case in other places I have lived. Not all areas are noisy, though, I just got unlucky.

Basically, if you are a female I would reconsider or be prepared to have your apt on lockdown 24/7 (including your back gate...it NEEDS a padlock so strangers won't wander on to your patio).

What did anyone do to deserve this?
My boyfriend lived with his mother in these from February to November (2004), with me living there for practically four months. First hand, I will tell you, HORRIBLE place!

At first it seemed fine. Two bedroom, two story... no no. The rent for that is as much as a one bedroom so people in one bedrooms are getting the shaft. One of the apartment managers/leasing guy was doing drug deals with the crazed old crackhead man across from us. In saying that, there were a lot of drug deals transpiring. Which is sad, since this community had many families.

The A/C froze over I don't know how many times, and they'd make us take care of most of it before they would come look at it a day or two later.

There was a leak from the upstairs bathroom over the dining area, which eventually rotted out the ceiling. It took about a month for them to fix this. Mind you, fix the leak, not the massive HOLE in the ceiling, plus mold.

We had a window get broken once, and they are a**holes about getting that paid and fixed pronto, but their maintenance varies from a three to eight month wait!

Lastly, while living here, we had many problems with cops walking all over the complex, 24/7. This was due to the drug deals, a FLASHER- who was 'loose' for a month or more, serving warrants, etc... I never figured out what they were doing sometimes, but it's unnerrving to see about 8 walking around at 3 a.m.

I could see how this might be 'doable' for a short duration, but the niceness wears off shortly after move in. Then, you'll want out. And, they are stubborn on working out of leases, even for reasons they cause.

Do yourself a favor, don't live here!

A great place to live
Since I have moved into Willow wind apartments the management has done nothing but SATISFY my every request. It is an affordable place for college students. We have brand new carpet, tile and a new fridge. Our Back yard has limestone gravel. And the pool is nice to relax at after school. I feel right at home... I would DEFINATELY recommend these apartments to any college student. Its also very peacful so you will have no trouble studying. It may not be pretty on the outside but the apartments are wonderful on the inside. :)

gone with the wind
I'm glad I left that place, I've made a comment to the manager to tell the owners to think seriosly of of taking down the old buildings and build up new onesits very old and I hated that, I had kids and nothing in there is good for kids, the yard in front of us was never taken care of, they always had bad ant bites, if there was friends thinking of moving in there, I would never encourige them.

bearable
I lived here for almost 18 months. The lock on our sliding glass door was broken for most of that time. Granted, they made attempts to fix the problem, and even replaced the entire handle/lock assembly---it was still broken. When we would leave for the day we had to rig the security bar to fall after we shut the door, in turn, forcing us to walk all the way around the building to enter through the front door when we got home at night. Cracks in the fireplace caused our carpet to get soaked on two occasions. After many phone calls, the staff gave in and called a company to come clean the standing water and treat the carpets, trim and sheetrock so they wouldn´t mildew.

My depression was caused by this place.
Lets just start off by saying that our air conditioner froze and flooded our down stairs (ruining some of our stuff) and the apartment complex was willing to move us to another crappy apartment but not break our lease to find a better place or replace our stuff. A lot of people with small children live there and some people are rude to the people with children. You can´t sit out on your porch and drink beer with friends without someone copmplaining. The only bathroom in the apartment was upstairs..yeah it really sucked having to walk all the way upstairs to pee. The overall appearance of the apartment interior was shabby and poor quality. The carpet was steam cleaned upon our arrival but the cleaners used so much detergent that after a month the carpet was almost black from just walking on it. I am just glad I will never ever have to live there again. I served my time.

It´s not as good as it used to be
The complex, known as Willowind for the past 5 years, is in desperate need of change, either in ownership or management. The current management does not seem to care about the job or the tenants.

The condition of the complex has severely deteriorated over the past few years.

There is not enough maintenace personnel to adequately cover the needs of the aging complex.

There is no garuntee of security. Security lights are not well maintained, and there have been several incidents of robery.

Several apartments have serious mold problems, that are not seen to. This is the type of mold can cause seriouse health risks.
