STAY AWAY!
The newest staff is a nightmare. They are rarely "nice", rarely "helpful". It's been over 30 days and I've still not received my deposit refund OR notice of what they intend to deduct from my deposit. There were always police in the complex for some reason or another. It is not a SAFE place to live...most certainly do NOT bring your teenagers! It's the hood!

Horrible Management!
Management is very rude and horrible. They try to get as much money out of you as possible. If you are moving into this apartment make sure you get pictures b/f and a/f you leave.

Very helpful staff
I have to say out of all of the places that I have rented, this is by far the most prompt in maintenance, helpful staff and they gave me back my deposit! I actually work for the Gables, which has an array of upscale higher-end apartments, and I think that StoneRidge treated me just like we treat our residents, which is the best! Karen and Julie are awesome, and the maintenance, as well! These apartments have a great location for a great price!

Terrible
Quite simply put this is the worst place I have ever lived by far. Neighbours are noisy. Management are terrible especially Beth. Senior management do not respond to or return phone calls. Complains fall on deaf ears with the attitude if you do not like it move out. Management is without doubt the worst I have ever encounted in an apartment complex. I will never ever rent a propert run by Harbour Group Management again.

Will never recommend Harbor Group to anyone!!!
When it was archstone, the manager before was a delight. She did everything to work with you.... Now that they have been bought out..they painted the complex an ungodly puke green color, The managment has been nothing but rude. There is a creepy guy that comes around (whom we think is with the management) trying to talk people into staying. He is somewhat intrusive. They raised the 10 dollars for covered parking up to 25 dollars...especially when there is bad parking as it is. The walls are thin, and they jacked up the price to live here so much its not worth it. our apt has had leaks all over the place,The side entrance gate to the apt has been broken for about a month now. and the Call box to get in has been broken for about 3 weeks (saying its a computer glitch...a computer glitch that lasts three weeks..cmon). The only reason i give two stars is because of the maintanance, he is always nice and comes at a timely manner, and always says god bless you when he leaves. When we called the office to explain about the gates.(mainly because our friend got his car stolen when we were only gone for about 2 hours at a bar down the street) they said flat out "we are not in charge of having security" ( i guess they should just leave off its a controlled access complex) when it was archstone..they DID have a hired security guard who patrolled every now and then. We cannot wait to move out of here, we wish we could take the maintanence guy with us.

SRND
I am in the process of building a new home and just sold my previous home of 8 years. I looked at 10 different complexes in the frankford/bush/tollway area and SRND is hands down the highest quality complex there is. The office staff, especially Julie, went out of there way to make the transition simple and easy. Its a big move going from home to apartment after 8 years but SRND has been wonderful. The apartments are immaculate. Complex quiet. Maintenance staff is on top of it too. They have gone out of their way to remedy small problems I found on move in, always same day and always with a smile. Customer service is definitely lacking in today's business landscape but not at SRND. They go out of their way to make you feel right at home. I love it!

I like it here
I have lived at Stone Ridge for almost 8 months and have signed another lease. My rent stayed the same and did not increase. I read the other reviews, and I don't know why people ----- so much. I'll be honest though... the ex-assistant manager, Delisa, was not my favorite person in the office. She never smiled and was often very cold to residents and potential renters. It's amazing to me that she was there as long as she was. Don't know where she went, but she is no longer there, and that is a smart move by corporate. The new manager, Beth, is truly very nice and it shows. She always greets you with a genuine smile and is very friendly. The maintenance staff is very nice also and always gets work orders done on the same day (for me, at least). I don't have any issues with parking since I have a detached garage, but I always notice that there is plenty of parking by my building. The location of these apartments is perfect. Right off the Tollway and the Bush Turnpike. I also have to say, the upgrades in my apartment are great. Also the interior is very clean because in the 8 months I have lived here, I have not seen a single bug or rodent in my apartment. That is amazing because I have always dealt with spiders and such at other properties I have lived at (even brand new apartments). I definitely think this place is worth checking out, and the rent is reasonable too. They are always running specials... during my first lease, my garage was only $20/month. Now it is $40, but I'm not complaining. I've seen places charge up to $100/month for garages!

Average Apartment
I have lived at Stone Ridge since it was an Oakwood property three years ago. I have to admit we were much happier with the staff and the rent when we first signed our lease through Oakwood. However, it's really not that bad. Yes, in the transition some of the staff have been inexperienced and unpleasant to deal with but the current staff is quite nice. Regarding rent, we're probably paying a little more than the apartment is worth but it's been a safe, comfortable living situation. We originally moved into a two-bedroom with a garage but had to downsize once the new owners jacked the rent way up. But it's a convenient location with the Tollway and Turnpike nearby and despite all the cars, I find the apartments to be fairly quiet. I've never had problems with noisy neighbors and I don't find there is any more noise here than any apartment I've lived in before. It's just a fact of life when living in an apartment that you'll hear other people. The parking is sparse but I usually find a spot. And the maintenance staff is excellent. I'm sure there are better apartments out there in this price range but I wouldn't discourage anyone from at least checking this place out.

RUN from this place!
These people are CROOKS! This property has changed ownership TWICE in less than a 2-year period. I moved in when Oakwood was the owner, and I selected the property because it was easy to see they genuinely cared about their tenants, and offered EXCELLENT deals i.e. I rented the townhome apartment and got a free garage. Then Archstone bought the property, and at renewal wanted to start charging me for the garage ($70/month!). I managed to negotiate a deal with them, because they valued tenant retention. Some of the staff had been retained from Oakwood, and they were wonderful to work with. Then Harbor Group bought the property, and hired all new office staff. They are AWFUL! The Property Manager especially!! All they care about is getting your money. I had to put up with the loud noise of the elevated tollway (constant car noise if you live on the west side of the property); some idiot making as much racket on a motorcycle in the middle of the night as he could; POOR insulation I could hear EVERYTHING my neighbors were doing, and I do mean EVERYTHING. You could hear the pipes every time the neighbor next door or downstairs ran water. The cabinetry in the kitchen and bathroom were on shared walls with the next door neighbor, so I was startled by a slam every time they closed any cabinets or drawers. They allow huge dogs in this property, so you have to deal with the constant smell and sight of the messes that their owners never clean up. I will say though that the maintenance staff is excellent. I never had any issues with getting needed repairs. Don t let their recent renovations fool you RUN! I have now moved into a wonderful 2-bedroom apartment, with an attached garage, for nearly the same rent that Stone Ridge wanted to charge me for my 1-bedroom and detached garage. So keep looking, it s worth it!!!

worse than greenhaven village, which has since been condemned
We lived at Oakwood,Archstone,Stone Ridge for two years. We had no problems until HARBOR GROUP (stone ridge) took over. The management took a very visible and noticable plummet to depths i didnt think possible from apartment management. While the maintenance staff was great (they didnt change) the management was keen on overcharging for a multitude of tiny instances. Also, their means of handling complaints was non-existant. If you want to get something resolved, expect to call everyday and try to get somebody, because they will not return calls, (indicitive of their lack of managerial skill). I highly recommend a different property, as a touch of new paint does not cover up deteriorating buildings, bad carpet, or a horrible staff. Trust me.

Great Living Experience -- But Yes, Parking Sucks
I've lived at Stone Ridge/Archstone for two years and have loved it. The management and maintainence folks have always been very responsive. Never hear neighbors. The pool is always clean, and the property is well kept. The only drawback is the parking -- small spots and not enough of them. I'm sure it would be better if people actually USED their garage spots, but since many people use them for storage, it contributes to the parking problem. Overall a nice place, good location.

Love it here!!!
I've been her for roughly 2 months and its great. The apartments are very very nice. Maintenance is consistently available. The leasing agents Stacy and Amanda have always been extremely friendly and helpful. Any requests that I have had in regards to service have been promptly handled in a quick and efficient manner. Its quiet, comfortable and convenient.

Very happy
Stoneridge is a very nice property! I am very happy so far and I have been here 6 months. The maintenance responds in a timely manner between 24 -48 hours, which in my experience is phenomenal. At previous apartments, I would have to call 2 or 3 times just to get a response and then it wouldn't be done correctly. The management staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy their job, which you don't see very often either. I plan on staying here as long as they will have me :)

Great!
I lived at Oakwood/Archstone from 2003-2005 and I have to say, the apartments are nice, and just because they are inexpensive dosen't mean you have to sacrifice comfort and security...If you are looking for a nice apartment that is inexpensive then move here

Don't lease here-keep looking
I lived at this property 10 years ago and it was great. Recently moved back to the area and am so dissappointed to have signed a lease here. The apartment they promised was not ready, said it was my mistake even after I played the saved voicemail in which they stated apt *** will be ready for move in on Feb ***, let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. They put me into a different apartment but due to switching apartments, my mattresses, washer and dryer and dining room furniture were delivered to wrong apartment. Furniture being moved from out of state was same problem. Try getting a semi moved around in this parking lot!! Now I am fighting with the mail and still have a paycheck lost in the mail because it was originally sent to the other apartment. Parking is a nightmare, they gave me 2 covered spaces that belonged to someone else, finally gave me a vacant one on the third try. Someone is parked there so much I tried to get a garage and now they gave me one that is used by someone else and gave away my covered space. I have been into the office every day for a week and get a different story about the garage, "its programmed to the same frequency as the one next to you and the gentleman didn't know which one to park in", "we have switched him to the correct garage. We asked him not to park in there and told him it was yours, he is now assigned to one on the other side of the property." "The door is broken so we can't let you use it now." "We can't assign any more because it might be someone else's and we don't know who parks in which garage and we don't want to give them away if they are being used." (that comment was after a "parking inventory" was suppossedly completed by each resident!) Terrible customer service, I know no one likes to deal with upset residents, but they refuse to return phone calls. Believe me, I have bent over backwards to be nice about this, always being very courteous, never raised voice or anything like that, I just want to be able to leave my apartment and not have to park on the street when I get back! The management has changed several times since I lived here last and I know the change makes it difficult, but serious organization is in order here!

Looks Can Be Deceiving
I have lived at Archstone, now Stoneridge, since March 2006. I WILL NOT be renewing my lease. Parking is crap, there have been nights where my fiancee had to park outside the gate in the office parking spots. Make sure you pay the carport charge and buy a carport! Two if you have two vehicles! The walls inside the apartment are NOT sound proof. When some one takes a shower, you hear it in the bathroom and in your bedroom. When your neighbor upstairs does laundry, you hear it every where in YOUR apartment. Plumbing is crap aswell. If you run your water or your neighbor above you does, the pipes start knocking against the wall. The noise is so loud it wakes me up from a dead sleep. If you do choose to live here, choose an apartment in the BACK, away from Haverwood. People constantly ride their motorcylces and cars up and down that street late, late at night. Speeding and making their car sound as loud as it can. Just don't move here is my opinion! I didn't listen to the previous reviews, please listen to mine!

EXTREMLY BAD PARKING
They have the worst parking ever!! Almost all spots are covered parking or garage. Then the spots that are not covered are to small to park in. The parking spots are painted much smaller than any normal parking spot, they must be for compact cars. I have a normal size car, Chevy Malibu, and I can barley fit and even when I get a spot I am sure my doors will get dinged. My wife just got a new Jetta and the door have dints in them already only a few months old. Then when you want to park most of the time two spots are taken because the parking space is too small.

Also the appliance in the apartment are very cheap. Disposal deafening loud. And not enough power in the kitchen to use and eletrical appliances. We were using two items and then the breakers goes off.

Then they have gates but then NEVER work, always open, What are the point of having gates when they are always left open!

Find somewhere els to rent don't go here!!

Ex Employee
I worked with Oakwood for a short time, then Archstone bought the community. Archstone is a great company. They have extensive training, etc. etc. I left because it was too much stress for me trying to learn everything, keep up with the paperwork, leasing and taking care of the residents, whom I liked very much. I feel Archstone will do as much as they can for their residents. You can't please everyone and crime is everywhere in Dallas, you can't get away from it, no matter what you pay for rent. I would live at Archstone North Dallas if I could afford it, and maybe one day I will. The one bedroom townhome is awesome!
Janet is very nice and cares for the residents. Give them some credit, they really do want to make you feel at home at Archstone. If you are resident reading this, then you probably know who I am and I miss all of you.

Not a great place to live
My husband and I moved in Dec 04. Rent is pretty good for the apt (garden tub, nice mirrors, etc). Still there are problems- we can hear every step the upstairs neighbor makes, when they take a shower, etc. The grounds have lots of dog poop on them- no one picks up after the pets. Our car was broken into- right in front of our bldg. Someone was robbed at gunpoint about 6 months ago. There is a night security truck- but he mostly sits in one spot. Mgmt has changed 3 times in the 18mos we have been here, and it just got progressivly worse. Takes multiple calls to get any attn- even when messages are left for staff. That all being said, it's about as good as any place in Dallas- you take the good with the bad. I did renew our lease 6 mos ago (mostly b/c I didn't want to deal with the hassle of moving) but am looking forward to moving out this summer.

Just Alright
I have lived here a year. The apartment is nice and seems to be a good value. My lease price i was locked into is much higher than the market rate. I am already paying more than anyone who would like to move there yet the insist on raising my rent by two hundred dollars if i want to resign my lease. The manager stated that they are in a money making business, investors want to see a return, and that it will cost me more to move than paying additional rent. I like the place but i dont appreciate that additude. Feel free to email with any questions!

Very Nice
I must say that I enjoyed my stay there. The floor plans were great, the management team was nice and maintenance was excellent. Maintenance handled things very expeditiously. I would definitely go back there if I had to choose an apartment home to live in again. However, just as in any complex things are pretty much dictated by your neighbors (tenants). Sure complexes can do their part but with all due respect tenants must as well. If you want a clean environment you must do your part as well as the visitors you invite to make sure that you do not contribute to its nastiness, management can do its part but they also cannot choose the noise level your neighbors and their visitors exhibit. I never saw bugs however there was a few silverfish. Parking depending on the time for visitors can be a bite of a problem as well.

I would definitely recommend these apartments to those who like a quiet, warm environment.
