Overall I have been very pleased. Staff is always on point very pleasant and easy to talk with. As stated the appearance of the drive streets and ground AreS can be better looked after. I have not encountered a bad experience during my stay. I feel very comfortable along with the neighbours that are here in my building.

LOCATION: First of all nothing beats the location outside of in-scholol housing if you are planning on attending the University of Houston. You are literally 10 minutes away driving MAX. Just incase you do not have a car you can bike or take the metro. There is a metro stop within a minute max walking distance from the community entrance. Though the immediate area surrounding the apartment seems a bit sketchy there is a police department no less than a quarter mile from the complex to ease your mind. But still probably would not recommend walking or talking the metro at night to or from school. If you are looking to buy all your move in extras or just looking for a place to shop, eat, or do your banking there is the Gulfgate Mall no further than 15 minutes away with the absoulte worst traffic conditions, on average it takes me like 8 minutes to get there. The mall has stores like Best Buy, Ross, Marshalls, HEB, GameStop, Wendys, Whataburger, Home Depot, Lowes, Office Depot, Chase Bank, an animal hospital, Panda Express, Starbucks, Taco Bell and a lot more. So that mall is a huge plus, in actual distance I believe its about 2.5 miles away and because of construction happening all over the place it takes a bit longer than it should to get there but still 10 minutes drive is pretty close. Also in another direction you have a Wal-Mart that is about 1.8 miles away about 10 minutes drive. The only thing I do not like about that Wal-Mart is that getting out of the parking lot can be tricky so becareful. As for gas stations, there are everywhere in all directions, but if you get discounts at valero like myself there might not be one closeby so you will have to settle for one of the many other brands nearby. If you are new to the Houston area or big city life like myself you might be a little confused with the streets and all the different railway tracks so just make sure to drive carefully and look literally in all directions when you cross the streets especially near the railways. Also some of the roads are in bad shape so do not speed your way through because there are some dips and holes due to construction and probably heavy traffic use. If you are looking for exercising or walking your pets there is a park literally right next to the community with I believe a door access from the community to the park. The park includes shaded areas, a cool water feature for kids, a community garden, grilling area, and walking trails. As for exercise there is no gym or pool inside the community but the YMCA is within 5 minutes walking distance which I believe is like a club house, in which you can work out, swim, or be inloved in solo or team sports. All in all nothing beats the location for University of Houston Students. APARTMENT LAYOUT: As an architecture major and fairly large person while looking at apartments my primary concern was the floorplans and how spaces were laid out. Though I would have designed it a bit differently to save space you cannot get a bigger apartment for the price and location. We are talking about 1000 square feet. LIVING ROOM: The living room is huge, I have a full sized sofa bed, two lounge chairs, a big coffee table, tv stand, my drafting/work table, and drafting chair and there is still plenty of space. KITCHEN: The kitchen is absolutely enormous too. There are cabinets everywhere, counterspace for everything you might need, and wall outlets like every foot which might be code here but in my home town was never followed. In the kitchen/dinning area I fit a large table for 6 and still had space left over. There is so much space in between one side of the kitchen and the other it might be a good idea considering getting a moveable island for those that might do a lot of cooking. Not because of lack of countertop space but because there is so room it might break up that area and facilitate food prep. The kitchen comes almost fully equpied. It comes with a oven/range, range hood, sink, garabage disposal, regirator/freezer, and dish washer. The only negative is that I am used to some newer equipment so these are a bit older which took some getting used to but they do the job perfectly. The only thing you need to buy for major kitchen appliances is a microwave. BEDROOM: It might be getting old but the bedroom is huge too. I fit a gueen size bed with two night stands, a desk, and a narrow dresser in front of my bed and the area is not crowded. CLOSET: Here we go again, its big. You could fit a a big dresser if need be on the back wall in between the two shelf and rods for even more space. Would recommend to get some clothes organizers, because what you hang will be pretty high up leaving plenty of realestate underneath for shoes or anything else. LINEN CLOSET: Pretty big linen closet, so big I am using it as a place to put some of my clothes and junk. Negative side is that there is nolight so you might need to get one of those stick on lights. BATHROOM: Like everything else the size says it all. You have a regular sized tub, large mirror and lots of space in between. The only downside is the size of the toilet, its kinda small enough so it might be worth seeing if you can change it for one you own or something. Besides that everythings great. LAUNDRY: Lasty, the laundry room was a big plus feature for me because it saves time and money having to go to a laundry place like some other apartment communities have. The apartment comes with a dryer and washing machine that work just fine. On top of that you have plenty of space to put all your cleaning supplies on the shelf and can even having your ironing stuff there, plus a shoe rack if you take your shoes of when entering the apartment. LIGHTING: Since the spaces are just so big the built in lights do not provide enough light in all areas of the spaces for certain tasks so I would highly recommend getting lamps. Overall the apartment is super big. If you need space to work or whatever these apartments are definately for you. STAFF: All the staff I met with have been super polite and understanding. They take the time to help you out and listen to you. Very nice staff. Also there always seems to be a patrol going around in a golf cart for security purposes but the community feels safe as it is so the patrols are an added bonus. I have not needed to contact maintance as of yet so I do not know how they are but I am sure they are very helpful as well. PRICE: If you are a college student like myself you might find cheaper apartments with more community anemities but you will not find any apartments this big, that close to the University of Houston, for this price. Hope this review helps.

Metro 5514 overall is a good complex to live in its quiet and the front office is sometimes helpful if you ask for assistance from the right person. Outside of my issues with my AC being broke constantly, and the front office having maintenance partially fixing it only so it can break a week later it ok to live here.

My husband applied here over a month a go and last week they called to say they gave him the wrong unit # , due to it being leased to someone else. When he asked for the deposit back they stated its nom refundable because he was already approved and that unit he wanted is still available. This just shows the lack of professionalism and communication in the office.

Very nice community. The inside of the apartment is very spacious, and the carpet and interior is very nice also. It comes with washer/dryer and that is one of the hardest thing to find while searching for an apartment. I really love it

I've been robbed twice and endless ac problems at my original apartment in the back, but Erica at the office and the maintenance men have been amazing. The apartments are well kept, but there is a bug and trash issue.

If you at looking for a place near UH this is the place, and the customer service the ladies provide at the office makes you wana go in every time you have a chance just to say "Hi". HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! Pipes burst in apartment. Service workers were here for hours working on flooring that they already came for when I first moved in and didn't fix properly. They left walls open, floorboards open. Had to beg them to come get new carpet put in after pipes burst and soaked the whole thing and they put the soaked and stained carpet BACK ON THE FLOOR( I have several pictures). My energy bill was over 200.00 because the water heaters on BOTH sides were leaking and the manager had the audacity to ask me "why didn't you call earlier" like I had super powers and could see an internal leak happening. I now have RATS that are chewing holes in my master bedroom carpet, baseboards, and my BRAND NEW sofa set!!! Today I waited an hour and fifteen minutes for contractors to complete the job that they started a week ago, and they Didn't show up, and the job IS STILL NOT DONE! The walls are still open in the closet and more rats are coming in!! For 1300.00 a month I am VERY VERY disappointed and will never renew my lease here. I've only been here for 4 months and am completely regretting my decision on moving here. I need to be compensated for this foolishness. I am never late on rent, pay all bills on time, am not a complaining tenant and have got nothing more than the short end of the stick at Metro 5514. I am not only vexed but also not comfortable in my home. This place is a disaster. -Management also comes in your apartment without 24 hours notice. I was not happy with this at all.

This apartment is generally good so far from the day I moved in. Two things I really like to live here because the unit is very spacious and the parking lot is big. You never find hard to park your vehicle close to your unit unless u get home too late. The staff is very nice and friendly with residents. They respond you promptly when you have any issue regarding the unit. But I m not sure about the rate of crimes here because I m very careful watching out my unit as well as my belongs whenever I go in and out of the unit. So far so good to me.

So far, no real issues other than high rent which I am presently applying for aid through the Housing Authority. I am retired and a senior citizen and hoping that the Housing Authority can help with this.

I like the location of the property. My main issue is the appliances are dated. The grounds are clean, which is very important. There s/b more security. I see a lot of young ladies getting out of their cars at night, there's no security near.

Security is always around which makes me feel very safe. The location is perfect being that we are so close to downtown, medical center and Port of Houston. The light rail is an added bonus to get to downtown.

Great community. Really quiet. We love it because it's full of people who have something to do everyday school, work etc. No people hanging out like others. Great space! (square footage ) The only thing lacking is a pool, but it's doable the ymca is in walking distance.

Love the location of the apartments as they are very close to my campus. Very secure grounds and nice units. The one bedrooms are a bit expensive but this is probably due to the size of the units as well as the central location of the complex. Overall, I would recommend.

Nice ans safe place. The only problem is the train. But one can accommodate the sound after several weeks. The manager is kind and the apartment is safe with the guard traveling around all the day. It is close to Metro station and postal office and Fiesta market.

The apartment buildings themselves are quite, but the neighbors absolutely ruin the community. Loud music, domestic assaults, and even the occasional murder keep this place from being peaceful. Chalk that up to the section 8 vouchers that they allow to exist here. Also the leasing practices are pretty predatory. Wanting to end your lease a day early is going to cost you 2400 dollars. But hey, if you're looking for a nice place to beat your wife and play your stereo at max volume, come on in!
