I've had both good and bad experiences at this community. The management currently is good and I see changes being made for the betterment of the property. Management previous is rude, dry and very uninviting. Maintenance staff has always been nice and respectful. The only issue with maintenance is not resolving my current issue in a timely manner

I cannot stand this community. Since I've lived here, someone has gotten killed, several people have been robbed, and people hang out all hours of the night. Not to mention, I have growing mold in my unit. DO NOT MOVE HERE! You've been warned

There is a stark difference between the model apartment that is shown on your visit to the site and the real apartments. The majority of appliances at Metro 5514 are out of date and crumbling. Unfortunately, the property office refuse to do the necessary major upgrade. They are so cheap that they decline to replace even 10-15 year old appliances, which would cost them less than $50. Prepare yourself for a mediocre apartment if you plan to move in here. I'm looking forward to my move out date!

The only reason I came here is because it's closer to University of Houston. But the pests inside my apartment and the noise of train at night, and traffic blockage due to train right outside the community really made it difficult for us to stay longer. But still for students who need a budget apartment who is going to University of Houston, I would recommend it.

Okay experience so far. It hasn't even been 6 months yet that I've lived in this community. As far as the building itself and staff I'd say everything is great including maintenance. But the community I'm unsure on.

Upon moving in, it was crawling with tiny roaches, BUT with one call management sent in the pest control that is offered every Friday with an additional fee of $5(?*). Management is overall very responsive. Which makes any issue I have, very minor. My dryer has stopped working a couple times but within a couple days it was fixed each time. Note that it IS right by train tracks. Meaning, at all times of the day and night, you will hear trains. It's not hard to drain out. You get a huge amount of space for the price.

Outside hallway needs major cleaning, cement is disgusting. Flashing light in the hallway has been like that since I moved in. I relayed these issues to someone in the office over a week ago, yet to see a change.

The best things about the apartment are the layout, the amount of space and the price. I have a 2-bedroom/2 full-bath apartment that affords complete privacy for occupants. The U-shaped kitchen is spacious as well.

Upon moving in the AC didn't work for an entire week. This became a recurring theme at this place, as literally any urgent issue took at least several days to even acknowledge. Not to mention the LOCOMOTIVE 50 feet from our window that no one said anything about. I wish I could just paste the email I sent to the CEO and regional GM, which was the absolute only way to get anything done at this place. There was an instance where someone came to fix our toilet, sprayed raw sewage all over the bathroom and then just left. It wasn't until we put in another request a couple days later that they sent another maintenance guy to spray more raw sewage everywhere and then call a plumber. The plumber fixed the issue but left raw sewage all over our bathroom. Management agreed to send professional cleaners out to fix it but never did. I had to clean raw sewage off of my ceiling and cabinets and shower curtain. The AC flooded a huge section which I told them about for months. They finally addressed it when my floor was so rotten that you would fall through it if you walked on it. It took almost two weeks of me requesting them to come back and finish the job, because they just left it half finished several times. One of these times my front door was left wide open for over 12 hours with no one in my apartment, and then the apartment had been flooded by a pipe they didn't reconnect. There are just too many instances like this to fit in this review. I wish I could explain everything. Even more problems arose after this letter was sent. Problems that were never addressed. And guess who was billed for said problems upon move out despite literally hundreds of maintenance requests regarding these issues? The tenant of course! They tried billing us $800! I laughed pretty hard and then they brought it down to $400! For stained carpet and oh... a small tear the linoleum FAKE wood floor that they charge you extra for (it's cheaper than carpet guys). So basically this place lets your apartment fall apart and then charges you to fix it back up.

Me and my roommate moved in to the 2 bedroom upgraded apartment. We love the space and layout of the apartment. Not too many pests as we live on the 3rd floor. Maintenance issues usually get sorted out quickly, with the exception of high request volume. Friendly staff!

I moved in August 2019 and so far I love it!! The nearby train takes some getting used to, the friendly staff makes it easy to live I this complex. Christina, Erica and Susie are very thorough and make sure you understand everything and are available for questions and if they don't have an answer they we will get back with you ASAP. Keep up the good work ladies!!!

Although we couldn't move in on our move in date, I like the place itself, the atmosphere. The community is quite, the apartment is very spacious, I love the roommate style layout and the appliances are nice.

Great apartment for uh and tsu students who are on budget. A bit old but everything is functional. Maintenance is super fast although you might need to call them multiple times to get the job done. The community is relatively calm. There are no useless pool and gym on property so the rent is lower than other places. In turn, you get washer and dryer in unit and spacious rooms. Most community/security prones are due to the residents unfortunately.

Overall, I like the unit. Very spacious and good quality. The only thing i'm not happy about is the roaches. I have killed about 20+ roaches since I moved in. If the roaches are gone soon then I have no complaints.

This is will be my first apartment I have moved into. So far, so good. Front desk ladies helped plentiful and made everything so easy moving in. There have been minor problems, but maintenance have been on their game, fixing it as soon as possible.

The apartment complex is a 6/10 until I can get my issues resolved. Initial move-in was not the best but I'm still giving this property hope. Main issues are the cleanliness and support of the office staff.

My experience at these apartments has been absolutely horrible. The roach infestation is throughout the entire apartments, I've lived in 2 units on opposite sides of this complex and the roach issue is the same. I've heard multiple accounts from others about the same issue. There is also a possum infestation that makes it disgusting and uncomfortable to take trash out. Everything is always breaking down, and there is always trash on the grounds that never seems to be handled. On top of that, management is rude and unaccomodating. The only reason I even resigned for a second year here is because I was in a rush at the end of my first lease and needed to move quickly. I highly regret it and do not advise ANYONE to EVER live here under ANY circumstance.

Cons: NOT SAFE. My neighbor was murdered, my roommate's car was stolen, my guest's car was broken into, there was a break-in attempt, packages got stolen, all within less than 2 years. Authorities did little to nothing to improve security, but tries to cover it up. They will say " the past 2 years i've worked here, I did't hear anything bad happening" - you can call them rn before they see it and everyone will read the same script, even the security. Also, the cargo train passing next to the apartments at random times at night will give you anxiety attacks when they blow their horns, the apartments even shake too! Pros: Maintenance is swift; they do good work too.

I really love how quiet the community is. I also like how big the apartments are. It's also very close to my school, which is very very convenient for me. It is also a reasonable priced apartment for a college student like me.

Due to the new apartment buildings surrounding UH, Metro is now increasing their rent. Yet, the property fails to meet the standards of their new rent prices. In 2017, we went 8 weeks without a working A/C and we ended up buying our own window unit and had to pay double the electric bill. In 2018, our building had sewage back up in our toilets, in our bathtubs, and on our sidewalks for three weeks. They didn't even put down plastic or wood so we could enter and exit without slipping and sliding in sewage which is a health violation. The only feedback we were given by management was "it's not our fault." They turn our water off without prior warning and while it isn't management's fault that the pipes are bad on the property, they never offer back up plans like accessible water on the property so we can flush our toilets or cook for our kids. I've lived here 3 years and the water has been turned off for 12 + hours at a time at least a dozen times. This experience is becoming very disappointing and I feel very taken advantage of as a resident. Their prices used to be competitive but now with the increase it is easy to find somewhere else to live that at least has a gym, pool, or bottled water when you need to take your medicine and don't have water in your home all day.

they were very helpful while I was trying to lease. Also whenever I had an issue with maintenance the maintenance people were very quick to come and resolve it. The apartment was very nice when I moved in and was very similar to the model if not exactly the same.

I moved into metro thinking it was going to be a nice clean and spatious, however I moved in to the microwave not working and a house infested with over 50 roaches. They do have an exterminator come every Friday if you request it but these bugs arent going anywhere and Im pissed. Its only been 1 week since I moved in but still. Its irritating
