Really Disappointed with large one bedroom 735 sq. ft.--also no local channels.
My husband and I just graduated from college and chose the large one bedroom. The master bedroom is big enough for us. We have room for a queen size bed, two nightstands, and a small dresser with a small TV on top. Its also the only room thats carpeted. Attached to the bedroom is the closet and although the closet is decent, we still had to downsize a bit. The bathroom is large and spacious, but it is not attached to the bedroom. One bedroom and one bath means that your bathroom acts as a guest bathroom also. There is lots of storage space in the bathroom, but only one sink. The water heater is fairly small, so if two of us are planning on taking a shower, we each have to be fairly fast or the other one will run out of hot water. There is one towel rack mounted to the wall by the shower and the other is inside the shower. There are no towel rings by the sink to dry hands. There is a small coat closet-we use it for coats, mop, broom, vaccuum cleaner, and other misc. stuff. The living room area is small. we can fit one sofa, a coffee table and our TV stand comfortably. My husband and I like to entertain and we had to purchase a second sofa just to have places to sit and its a tight awkward fit. The "dining area" is way too small to have a dining table. We've turned it into a bar area. we have a mini-fridge, and a liquor cabinet. The kitchen. Instead of a pantry, there is a large cabinet. The shelves are deep so you can fit a lot of food in there. What frustrates me most is instead of having a one door cabinet, you have two doors that open up to the middle, so going straight down the middle of your pantry is a bar. That really limits what you put in there, and then you have to work around that bar. Each side is 8.5 inches long, and the center bar is three inches wide. There is also three drawers in the whole kitchen. One of them is half the size of the other two, and I use that to hold my oven mits. The other one is used for silverware, and the other is overflowing with cooking utensils. There is only one cabinet by the fridge that made sense to put our plates and glasses in. Its the only cabinet above the counter that is large with one door. The other cabinets are really small, or like the pantry have two doors with a bar going down the middle. Also they've dual-purposed the kitchen by adding a desk area, so its a kitchen and an office. The dishwasher is loud. We only run it when we are leaving the apartment. It also leaves all of our dishes cloudy--we have to use Lemi-Sure detergent and it's quite expensive. The dishwasher does have an energy star logo on it, which is nice. I couldn't find that logo on the fridge nor the washer and dryer. The fridge/freezer are a good size, theres also an ice maker in the freezer. The patio is large, and the washer and dryer are out there. There are pros and cons to this. If its raining or dusty or really cold, you may not want to do your laundry. The washer and dryer do get dusty from being outside, so you have to wipe it often. The good things are that you dont hear it inside your apartment and it doesn't take up precious space. I hate the washer and dryer model they gave us. Its brand-new, but way cheap. Cheaper than the ones that my college apartments provided for us. And rent in college was a lot less than what we are paying. The washer has two cycles, casual and normal. You can set the washer to hot water and heavy, or warm and normal, or cold and light. I had to wash a pair of really dirty jeans twice on cold and light, because the hot water from the heavy option would have ruined them. You can also choose to wash a small load or a super load. Huge waste of water and energy if your washing a normal sized load. The dryer upsets me even more. You can choose from fluff air, normal or timed drying. On a separate dial you can choose from more dry, less dry or energy saving preferred. This means that there is only one heat option , so forget drying all your nice clothes that are tumble dry low, I hang dry most everything now. As of right now, AT&T is our only internet provider, so far we are happy with the service. DirectTV is the only TV provider. We have lots of channels, but we don't get NBC or CBS at all. We get FOX and ABC but not on HD. I've never been so dissatisfied with a service in my life. All of our shows come on NBC and CBS, not to mention Superbowl and other big events that are televised only on those channels. And we have the choice extra package, and it specifically says on our flier that we get local HD channels. DirectTV said that the reason we don't get those channels is because the signal doesn't reach our sattellite, but we get BBC from halfway across the world. As soon as we figured out that we don't get those channels, we tried to get a cable company out here, but they wouldn't because our apartments have a contract with directTV and won't let anyone else service us. I wanted to cancel, but my husband would rather have some TV than no TV. The floors are faux wood, the counters look like granite, but aren't. The thermostat isn't electric, you just move the dial. There are lots of internet and phone jacks as well as plug outlets. Whenever we park in the garage, we have to take the garage door opener with us so we can close the door and get back in there the next day. I like that its a closed community, no solicitors allowed. The office staff is alright, we haven't had any problems with them. We haven't tried to use any of the ammenities just yet. What aggravates me most is that they just recently took out all the dumpsters and now there is only one for the whole complex! It used to only take three minutes to toss the trash, now it takes 10-15 minutes. Its kind of scary to throw your trash out when its dark, because the dumpster is located in an area that hasn't been rented out yet, its not well lit, theres also a wall built all around it, so you have to walk inside the walls to get to the dumpster, without seeing who or what could be hiding around the corner. My husband and I pay 1010 dollars a month for one bedroom, a garage and a carport. Parking sucks, sometimes its difficult to find a spot if you don't want to pay for a reserved carport. And if one of the college kids are having a party, forget about parking--someone even parked in our reserved spot! We were not happy that day. We pay too much money for the crap we have to deal with--no local channels, inconveniently located dumpsters, and cheap appliances. I really want to move out.

Just looked....I wish i could get that 1/2 hour back of my life
I really dont know where to start. First- i walked into the leasing office and the girl looked like she was dressed to go out in Austin. See through white shirt and bright pink bra to boot. She was very unprofessional in the way that she talked to me about the apt. Not a great first impression. Next we go to look at the model. Good lord.... Tiny tiny tiny. and for 1220 a month and dont 4get about the $150 for Admin fee. The bedrooms are small. living room has enough space for maybe a small sofa. thats it. The flooring was extremely loud when you walked across. The first thing that i was told about were the "parties" that the office throw for residence. I want a home- i dont want to live in a party palace!!!! the only thing they offer is a fitmess room the size of a thimble and a pool with no hot tub. no other ameminities. A complete waste of my time. The girl that showed the the apt even said they get noise complaints. Great selling point!

Managment Lies
My husband got transfered to Midland so I went out looking for a nice apartment because my daughter and I would be visiting him often. He works for the government and is transfered often. I let the assistant manager know this and said if he had to break the lease it would not be a problem, because they could treat it as military. Well they are sending him to Georgia now and you guessed it, Vantage at Midland will not let him break the lease! So now we will be paying 1,300 a month for 4 months until the lease is up, we can not afford that! I am furious that these people could stoop so low just to get people to move into there complex! The management is not trustworthy do not believe their lies!

Do NOT Move IN
I wish our lease was up! The wood floors are cracking the cabinets are falling apart, the toilet runs, the walls are thin, and these are brand new! OH, and the worst thing is that the washer and dryer hook ups are outside in the patio. I didn't even think of this before we moved in, but it stinks going out to do laundry in 40 degree weather! We should have spent the extra 200 to rent at the other complex we were looking at! OH, and there is POOP all over the grounds, gross!

This place is GREAT!!!!!!
I personally love this place, the staff is GREAT Everyone is complaining of the price of rent well its high but the utility bills are way cheap so it all evens out in the long run. I have lived at several different apartments in midland and this one is by far the BEST. Now for the ladies in the front they are very helpful and can answer any question that you might have. it is very quiet out here the traffic noise is minimal. The view is just wonderful you have a very nice pool to hangout at and if you are into working out there is a very nice exercise room. So overall this is a wonderful place to call home.

I Love to call this place HOME!!
I moved into my BEAUTIFUL 2/2 in Sept. The apartments are a steal if you compare prices to the ONLY other nearby new apt. complex. Who else has wood floors, WORKING gates & gym(with an LCD), garages? I feel safer knowing we have a sprinkler system in the buildings too since ppl like to burn apts. down in Midland. I would have to disagree with other comments that the staff is unhelpful and disorganized. From what I have experienced they are more than willing to help out any way they can. They always call ppl by name. The maint. guy is great! He works hard.. never had to wait over 24 hrs for anything. The apartment was brand new when we moved in.. so I love that I don't have a TON of things to irritate me when I am trying to relax. The parties they have are AWESOME!! Thanks!

I don't recommend!!
The apartments are cheap! Rent is outragious for the quality of the apartment! I personally wish my lease was up! The whole "live green with us" is right...everything is so cheap...the floor, cabinets, walls, not to mention you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls! Don't spend your money on this place, even though it looks every bit worth your money! TRUST ME IT'S NOT!! WE HAVE TONS OF PROBLEMS YOU DON'T NEED!!

Other than cheap, but nice-looking aesthetics, not worth the money.
They are pricey. There isn t much square footage and though nice-looking, there is nothing top of the line about the apartments: cabinets, countertops which are laminate along with laminate hardwood floors, the fixtures and other odds and ends used in the apartment Aside from being newly constructed, I don t know exactly what I am paying for. I was hoping to not have as much noise or disturbances, with high rent, I am hoping it weeds out much of that, though I can hear everything through the floors and walls of my neighbors; the TV channel they are watching or radio station they are listening to, so I am sure they same goes for my neighbors. The staff isn t well coordinated with each other; everyone is always either misinformed or giving out wrong information. Overall most of the staff is wonderful, but those few ones that aren t actually made me want to move back out days after I moved in, I would ve if I didn t just move all of my furniture, and still want to. They do have residence parties which are a pleasant; I would attend more if I wasn t so displeased with the staff. You have to go through their cable and electric. They said their cable was Direct TV; it s not. It is a 3rd Party called Direct Tech that offers Direct TV, and I personally have had nothing but problems with. Electric is through Caprock, which is one of the most expensive companies in Midland, and phone and internet are offered through AT&T. Again, I am not sure what I am for the price other than cheap, but pretty aesthetics and an incompetent staff.
