Nice Place to live
I have lived here for about eight months now. I really do like it. I am a clean freak and I am very hard to please when it comes to cleaning. My apartment was extremely clean when I moved in. I was very impressed!! The grounds are very well kept. I have had very few maintenance requests, but so far everything has been taken care of within 24 hours. I had one minor emergency and I called after hours and the maintenance man was at my apartment within 5 minutes of my call and the problem was taken care of above and beyond. The location is great! The grocery store, dry cleaners, pharmacy, nice eating places, bookstores, video stores, coffee places, movies, banks, good schools, and parks are very close. La Cantera is not even that far. That has been very nice especially with the cost of gas right now. My apartment is very near the pool and I was quite concerned with the noise level. There were times in the first part of the spring that it was pretty loud, but actually it has not been bad this summer. For all the people who complain about the cost and among other things. I would like to ask them to try to find a place that is as nice, has yard service, maintenance, plumbing, pest control, nice pool, workout room, lots of storage, good schools, and in a secure place. I have been a home owner and a renter and you are going to have crime and problems no matter where you live. If you are home owner you also have a huge bill with all your problems. I am extremely happy living here.

This place is a ---- whole with BAD management
I wish i had good things to say but unfortunately i dont. The management here is completely uneducated!! we are moving out next saturday and today (sunday night) we go outside to walk our dogs and we see a parking violation on the window of our car stating that we have parked in a handicap spot but if they had any freaking brains, they would see that our vehicle was parked NEXT to a handicap space. our neighbors even witnessed that our vehicle had never been moved and was in the same spot all day. It is sooo typical of this place and management that of course we can not contact anyone at night. The violation states they will tow our car tomorrow morning. I can not wait to get out of this hell whole!! We are a military family and will be contacting jag. I can guarantee this place will be on the black list!! Go to ------------------!!

I agree!!! this place SUCKS
We moved frm out of state and I couldn't be more unhappy on my choice,I think the manager makes things up as she goes, her poor judgement on her staff is just unbelievable. They pick on concern people, they were very mean to single mom who lived there with her boys and one of her boys needed a lung transplant, they spent half there time in the hospital and the office was always towing her car, or putting nasty notes on her door, the poor lady was hardly ever there and the claimed they were making noise, I lived above her and her friend lived across her and the other apartment was vacant. We have written HARBOR company about the staff and have gone no response. DO NOT MOVE HERE~ I have since moved out and we are EVER SO HAPPY!!!

Have lived there for 5yrs..When Ed,Ruby and Cline were in the office it was THE BEST!! No problems..You got what you pay for and more..Now the new managment SUCKS!!We are finially out!! I would rate this place a -0..the owner should really rethink the people they hired, the manager is an awful person and the old lady is just as worse, she curses people who live there..sure you may call the manager and let her know but she tell you "I know she didn't say that, your lying" WORST PLACE TO LIVE!!!

bad management
if everyone that has a complaint with the management would send there concerns to the owners of the property it would help, the owners choose the management company and if they do not know how they are doing they will not make any changes. Trying to leave!
I agree with all the bad comments posted so far. Been here almost 3 years and dying to move out. Started out great but now that "new management" has come in it has been just awful! I was not late by one day, but only 4 hours!! They gave me an eviction notice, then once I confronted them they said it was policy! Then they charged me $110 for those 4 hours I was late!!! My car has been towed b/c there's nowhere to park. People park all over the place! handicapped, grass, curbs, everywhere...and MY car was towed b/c I was parked improperly!! Apt shopping as we speak...

Stay Away
I have lived here for about a year and a half, and I wish I could afford to break my lease. This used to be a nice quiet place a few years ago (I lived across the street) but now its more like a college campus, and I'm IN COLLEGE! There are always cars driving through the parking lot bumping their music, I've seen puke next to cars more than a few times, beer bottles, little kids running all over the place by themselves. I came out one day to find 4 cop cars and an ambulance in the parking lot. Apparently some under age kid got alcohol poisoning AND the office had been broken into ALL IN THE SAME NIGHT. I had to call the cops one night after catching a guy peeping into this girls apartment, and he was back doing the same thing the very next night. As for security, don't let the sign that says "There are cameras on this property" fool you. There are 2 cameras, and they both face the front office parking lot! Also, I was ONE day late on rent (my first time mind you) and I got an eviction notice! When I confronted the manager she said that it was normal to do that. The manager is EXTREMELY rude. I haven't had any problems with the other staff, but the manager for sure has some real issues. All in all, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! Oh, and if you have a dog: Not only do you have to pay a 250$ deposit (more if you have a big dog), but you then have to make monthly payments!!! Ridiculous.

BIGGEST MISTAKE!
MANAGEMENT ISNT HELPFUL AT ALL. THEY DOT EVEN SEND YOU A RENT BILL THEY MAKE YOU PAY WHAT THEY THINK IS DUE ON THE 1ST OF EVERY MONTH. DIRTY CONSTRUCTION WORKERS EVERYWHERE AND MANAGEMENT DOESNT EVEN ADVISE YOU ABOUT ALL THE CONSTRUCTION THAT WILL TAKE PLACE. THE WASHROOM MACHINES SUCK.. THEY ALWAYS EAT THE MONEY AND HALF THE TIME THEY NEVER WORK. THE NEW PAINT COLOR IS SOOO UGLY. I HATE IT THERE. I CANT WIAT TILL THE END OF MY LEASE!

For the price these people are charging, there should be a lot more options. It's hard to ever find some one to help you at the office or even pick up the phone.

Horrible Management !!!
I've only lived here a few months and I want out!!! Management is terrible at sending any notifications whatsoever! I was set up for AutoDebit and they didn't even have the courtesy of sending any memo or letter saying that it was being discontinued because of a changeover in ownership of the property. I showed them the letters we did get with a survey packet no less and they agreed to drop the late fees. I came back in the next month to check the rent balance after having overpaid and they charged me 137.00 in attorneys fees because they had filed an eviction notice against me for having been " late " on the rent the previous month! I contested it and was told they had been generous to have even waived the late fees! The night before I had to bomb my pantry with bug spray because of ants! They have never come in to spray, EVER! Our AC was locked out when we moved in after they replaced the thermostat with a digital one at my request and expense. It was turned on two days later! This was in July! The gate system never works and has been destroyed at least once. Our neighbors have played golf drunk in the parking lot. The gas station across the street schedules LOUD maintenance at 4:30 in the morning. People regularly park in the fire zone because there aren't enough spaces and management DID send out a letter saying anyone caught in the carport zone (without paying for it and getting a sticker) will be towed! The list of problems with this place it too long to go on here....Don't think about moving here, just keep looking!

Poor Quality/Overpriced
My apartment carpet was horribly filty when I moved in and I got gouged when I moved out. I kept rugs over the large majority of the carpet, protecting the shabby carpet and keeping me from being embarrassed by it's atrocious condition. They nickeled and dimed me for the move out. The blinds were in the same condition but I got charged for those. There were some things on the statement that were my fault but for the most part the apartment was in the exact same condition (if not better because I cleaned it a lot when I first moved in) then I left it and I got gouged for all these cleaning fees. The gates were ALWAYS open. That was one of the reasons I moved in, for the safety of living in a gated community. But the gates were left open anyway so what was the point? I didn't even bother going into the pool, it just looked bad. Over all this apartment was way overpriced.

Awsome
I have been living here for over 10 months. Only problem I had was my AC went out a lil to often for my taste, but fixed the same day every time and not a second later. Quick responses from staff to fix request. Never had a problem with this quick efficent and figured out the problem to my AC was a wire that got stripped. in the ceiling been working since. I have never had a noise problem. Been quiet to me. They keep the community updated of everything that goes on. I have had 1 inspection on my apt. Unlike the earlier post that said they had multiple inspections. Worked with me when they found out i had a pet I was hiding from them. let me still keep it even though it was under a year old at the time, even though it states in contract you can't. Pleasant staff. I have not had parking problems either. I think people judge to harshly and let everything bother them. Relax and live life people. =D Just wanted to voice my opinion since I see a lot of bad things said and I havn't seen any of those problems with this apartment. Also to people that say they got broken into. Crime is going to happen. You can't stop it. Get renters insurance, arm your alarm, and lock your doors. That's all you can really do.

"OK space" "Horrible" service
I lived there for approx. 3 years. Among all of the terrible experiences i've had there..this one stands out. I upgraded from a 1bedrm to a two bdrm. I didnt check out the two bedroom before moving in. The day i moved in, i opened the door and the whole place smelled like fried fish. Old fried fish! Not only that but a I awoke at 4am to find a huge cockroach on my face on the first night there. I was horrified! i called and got nothing but smartass remarks from the leasing agents. They are extremely immature , have no customer service skills whatsoever! They dont care about your needs..just have the rent ready when its due! You will end up feeling stressed out if you call to politely have something fixed. Why? because they will be rude, hang up on you, or totally talk to you as if you were a total stranger on the street. Please just rent a house instead, or find a better apartment complex to live in. Promise it's a total disguise from your first impression. Go Ruby!!! She's the only one with class.

be careful
I have been here almost 2 months. Check the apartment prior to starting your lease. I moved in and opened the blinds to discover the window ledges were damaged from water, and were just painted over what appeared to be several times, mold was growing all over the window seals, they corrected it but I cannot believe they would lease apartments prior to correcting the damages, the window ledges were so water damaged the wood was expanded and damaged. Then I noticed water damage inside the utility room the same day, also wood damage, they did correct it, didn't replace the damaged wood, THEY PAINTED OVER IT! Didn't even try to find out why there was water damage. Maintanance said "I will seal it". Now there is the same issue next to the front door, wood damage to the base boards and water leak stains up the wall, also appear to have been painted over in the past. I have requested repair of this for the 3rd time (as of 7/2/2007) without any response. I can not believe in this day and age that any multi family complex would be this carefree in regards to mold and water leak issues. I am employed as a property inspector, inspecting over 1000 properties in a year and giving estimates on repairs and notifiying lenders of repair needs so I think I quality to say they should not be just painting over water damage issues and also need to find the source of the problem. Be leary of leasing from this apartment complex, They are not addressing my repair issues but I see them several times a day going into the vacant apartments near me to make them ready for the new tenants. They are much more interested in getting new tenants them providing safe, clean living areas for current tenants. Also look around at the grounds as you view the complex, badly in need of grass, look at the ac units on the outside, guaranteed they have no maintanace on these.

Not the best choice
My husband and I lived here for a year and more often than not the gate to the complex was broken. The area is nice and the apartments are in pretty good shape. However, the management was coming into the apartments almost monthly to check on the fireplaces, the alarm system, to do the annual inspection, etc. I have never had to deal with management entering my home that often in 8 years of renting combined. There are frequent Thurs/Fri/Sat parties thrown by the college residents which are loud and the "guests" use the resident's parking and leave residents hiking in from the visitor parking. When we moved in, there was a closet door missing in one of the bedrooms and it took three requests and 6 months to get it replaced. We had very unpleasant conversations with management in regards to moving out early where we were threatened with being sent to collections or otherwise reported for breaking a lease. Also, in spite of maintenence being called three or four times for plumbing issues with the toilets, the manager blamed us for the toilet problem at moveout. This is definitely a difficult place to call "home".

Wonderful Place
I've been here for a little over 6 months. Havent had a problem with the staff the 2 front girls are nice. The manager is kind of loud though. Everything has been good so far. Some of the stories on here are pretty hiliarious. There is a little parking issue. But I've actually looked at several apartment complex on here to decide where I would want to move, and every apartment complex had the same issue with parking. I think thats just part of apartment living. I could probably go and complain to the office staff, but its not their fault the way they built the parking area. With all said, I would highly recomment living here.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!
I have never experienced more headache with an apartment complex than I have with silver rock. I made the worst mistake when I decided to move in. Good luck getting any kind of maintenance work done in less than two weeks. Oh, but they only get it done that quickly if you call every other day to remind them. Pest control takes about a month. About three months before my lease was up, I received my and my roommates rent checks back. When I went to the office to find out why, they said they sent out a letter stating that they would no longer be taking separate checks. I never received such a letter. The woman in the office said that she was sure that our building received it because about 3 out of the 7 or 8 apartments that usually paid with two checks only paid with one that month. Well I asked her if she hand delivered them herself in order to make such a guarantee and she said no that the maintenance crew had. (I already mentioned how trusty they are.) Well if I go off the odds she gave then I guess that means I was right since the majority of people did not comply with the new rules. Who would knowingly submit themselves to fines and fees? I ended up with about $100 worth. I guess the worst headache I received was upon move out and the subsequent months following. I had a walk through scheduled upon my move out day but nobody ever showed up for it. When I went down to the office to get somebody, the woman in the office said that the one who was scheduled to go out and see the apartment was showing the property to people and would not be able to make it and since she was the only one in the office, she would not be able to leave. So of course they ended up keeping all of my deposit although I had just spent the entire previous week cleaning it spotless. Well to my surprise, I just received a phone call from a collection agency telling me that silver rock will no longer be contacting me and that I have and outstanding balance! Are you kidding me??? I could not believe this. I gave silver rock my forwarding address and have not received a single piece of mail this past year from them. I was never contacted at all. And now I have creditors after me and my previously immaculate credit. Needless to say my lawyer will be in contact with the manager should this misunderstanding reflect negatively on my credit in any way. So now that I m done venting, I have two pieces of advice to any who dare. 1. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING 2. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I loved it
I moved out of Silver Rock in May this year and had lived there for a little over two years. I want to say that I did like it very much. My first apartment was a two bedroom in which I had a roommate who married a guy in the military and she moved out. She was protected under the military clause but I wasnt. So the staff helped me out tremendously in transfering me to a one bedroom. The price was a bit high for me though and again they worked with me again and transfered me into a small one bedroom. So I cant complain that they werent helpful. At the end of my least term I began to have some serious health problems and needed to break my lease. The staff was able to work with me and I was very much appreciated. I for the most part had a good experience living there. College students do live there...I being one of them, but I never got rowdy and to tell you the truth...now come to think of it all my neighbors were families. I highly recommend these apartments to good service, nice staff, helpful staff, and a cute place to live.

Do not move here!!!!
We moved into Silver Rock being told that it was a nice family community as well. Well, we were lied to of course! Many college students having parties not only on weekends but during the week as well. We bought a house towards the end of our lease and was told by management that we would not have to pay the fee to break our lease. We only had a few weeks left anyway. Turns out we were lied to and ended up having to pay an enormous fee. Once again we were told that as long as we were paying some money toward our balance that we would not be in default on our balance and not be sent to collections. 6 months later we are told that we have to pay the remaining balance in 3 months or we will be sent to collections. Management very unprofessional. They promise you one thing and the total opposite occurs. They will tell you what you want to hear and once they have your money, they could care less!!!!! The parking area by our apartment was dimly lit. Made management aware of some lights that were out. Never fixed.

way overrated
with many i talk to including myself there is a lack of managemant to include poor maint. and false security. while i lived here i made many attempts to have my garbage disposal fixed and never was. after 2 1/2 months and 6 attempts i gave up and hired a personal contractor. i paid the bill and never said a word. now i get a lease voilation for having trash outside for less than 30 min. while i cleaned my apt. on sunday. PRIORITY'S!!! they do not care for their residents as much as trying to make them leave. Further, as you will see in other reports about Silver Rock people broke into and robbed the apt. next to me. It took the management me telling them two days later that the apt. was robbed. Then, it took two days just to replace the window which was broken. <br>IN CLOSING, UNLESS MANAGEMENT IS REMOVED AND REPLACED ALONG WITH THE MAINT. I WOULD STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPLEX!!

Silver Rock Rocks!!
I have lived here at Silver Rock for 3 years now and would recommend this property to any and everyone! Over the past years I have lived at plenty of other apartment complexes and they do not even compare to Silver Rock. The property is beautiful and well taken care of not to mention the office staff is awesome and everytime I have ever needed help with anything Ruby has gone above and beyond to help.

I was broken into!
I am afraid to live here my apartment was broken into I want to break my lease ! I talked to the office staff and they are not intrested in helping me. I was told by my neighbors they received a notice that had a list of safety tips. I think it is a little too late for that. I got home and my entire apartment was turned upside down. I am waiting to see what the managers will do for me. I am now hearing cars are often broken into here and there are cameras that dont work thru out the property . Please take my advice move somewhere else .
