HATED IT
My family and I lived here for 5 years and the first 2 years were great- very quiet, grounds were clean, kind neighbors, etc. (when the old manager was around) and by the 3rd year we started to notice the grounds getting messier and loud people roaming around. I and my husband made several complaints to the office and then found out that there was a new manager (no wonder, the old manager would have never, ever dealt with such people like those). We notified her of this but, she didn't have any care in it in the beginning. My husband then told her that he would report her to corporate that she wasn't doing her job properly and only then did she start to give an ounce of notice. Luckily, those noisy people were evicted and all was well- actually, that was just the beginning. By the 4th year we started to notice that the office was letting more and more "------" people in. These people were absolutely disgusting leaving their trash out on the patios, letting their kids out until midnight screaming outside our doors and windows, throwing parties on the weekdays and weekends and having several pets living in the area. It was completely disgusting! Again, my husband and I (even our old neighbors) started to call the cops and made several complaints to the office. Again, these people were evicted. Sure, the office can just evict these loud-foul mouthed people out but, why did they continue to let them come back in? It's an annoying cycle to deal with. The only reason why we stayed for the 5th year was because we started to notice the property becoming "better" but, by the time we singed our renewal- the damned office let all the dirty teens move into our building. I swear, this was the toughest year I had ever dealt with in my entire life. I have witnessed a grown boy beat his girlfriend outside of our door to the point where my husband had to run out and stop the fight to sex noises from our children's bedrooms every night, loud parties and music thumping on all the walls and vandalism and break ins into our cars. Bottom line, if you wish to live in peace with civilized people- move elsewhere, this is not the place for families or sane adults. By the way, before we moved out, my husband and I got the carpets steamed cleaned and even took extra measures to re-caulk the cabinets and sink areas, etc. We even got out apartment inspected upon move-out by one of the --------------- girls in the office and she was very rude about the entire process but, she cleared us since we had filled out a form for damages and such when we first moved in but, guess what? The first month we left this hell hole we get a statement from collections for over $5,000 for "damages" to the apartment. I really don't understand what these people are doing- I don't think they are in their right minds. We left the apartment in better shape than it's ever been in and EVEN GOT IT CLEARED DURING INSPECTION and they are now charging me and my husband $5,000?! Even if a bomb blew the apartment off the face of the Earth, it would not cost $5,000 to rebuild it, honestly speaking. These apartments are old and all the piped and fixtures are torn, worn and broken. Give me a break! DON'T MOVE HERE.

worse than nightmare
Believe me when I say this place is hazard and a hassle. The office staff is a nightmare. Maintance has stolen from me and management lies and covers for them. The office staff is disrespectful, gossips. Dee is the only one who is remotely approachable but still nothing gets done, of course all she can do is report it. I take pictures of everything, have recordings of Erin and her office staff to play in court if Erin tries to collect on me. Record, document and post because if you don't Erin will make your life hell.

Ditto call comments!
Leasing agents are great, manager is a nightmare! Put me on a month to month lease at $1400.00 a mmonth, filed for eviction if you were 5 days late. Crazy. Moved out never heard from them again and when I went to go rent they told me that Silver Rock had put something on my credit for $7k and we cleaned everything. Never again!

DO NOT MOVE HERE
I'm very disappointed with this place due to several reasons: 1. Noise- The neighbors are always loud. They keep their bass on at all day, all hours. I have complained on numerous occasions and the office does nothing about it. Also, there are nasty little kids running around throwing rocks at peoples' cars, cursing, screaming and getting into fist fights as well as bullying other children. On several occasions I had to take my toddler away from the play area because the nasty older kids were getting aggressive towards my son. I have told the office about these occasions and they had nonchalantly told me to call the cops on them then. 2. Grounds- Pet owners get away with their dogs crapping all over the place! There is more dog feces than actual grass to be seen. It's very unpleasant and disgusting. I don't even think there is a grounds-keeper because of the trash and the grass and trees being unattended to. 3. Old Buildings- The pipes are leaky, the faucets are leaky and the knobs to the fixtures are falling apart. 4. Maintenance- They are so lazy. I had an emergency because it was the middle of summer and the AC went out completely. The maintenance guy told me to "wait until 2:00 PM but, I might not be able to make it..." I asked why he couldn't come sooner and he said "I just got out of bed and I need to run some errands for my wife....". I couldn't believe it! So, my family and I packed our things and went to my mother's house until the problem got resolved- that took a whole week. 5. RUDE OFFICE STAFF- They DO NOT CARE about any of their tenants. It's beyond ridiculous. When they try to get you to sign the lease they act all sweet but right after- they could care less. This is by far, the worst place I have ever lived and I'm so glad I left two months ago. 6. MOLD- This stuff is everywhere. I literally had to purchase bleach every month to try and stop it because that's all the office staff told me to do if I didn't like it. What? Are you serious?! Mold is a health hazard! This is not a good place for anyone nor is it a healthy environment for you or for your children. I suggest you move far away from Silver Rock.

very bad experience
one of my worst experiences: I was paying $1.400 per month only because I needed to stay for 3 months. After I left, they sent some kind of bill full of non sence expenses, the worst part was sending the bill to a collection agency before sending to me so I had to beg the lady in the collection agency not to touch my credit. and few weeks later, they send another bill to my house.

Manager is a nightmare
I lived here for over a yr. in a 3 bed/2 bath. Im not one to write reviews but this management and staff was so bad I felt it necessary. The management totally ruined the experience of living here. Dee is the rep who dealt with our lease and getting us to sign, very friendly and positive person. Then we met the terrible manager and the nightmare began. Very unwelcoming and completely obnoxious. This manager is atrocious, would talk about us right in front of us to staff but never direct her questions or answers to us, like we were invisible. Very unprofessional. The assistant manager had the same attitude. I hated going to the office for any assistance or to pay rent. I used the drop box for everything. Moving out was also a hassle. Ive lived in several apts and have never had issues with any regarding my prompt payments, moving out, or move out walk thru. We left our apt clean, even had the carpets professionally steam cleaned because there were 5 of us in this 3 bedroom so a lot of foot traffic, and the manager sent our information to a collection agency about owing for cleaning and deodorizing fees. Never contacted us or gave us the proper amount of time to respond that was stated on the collections form. Of course the fees were ridiculous, charging $50 to clean a bathroom sink that we had cleaned before we moved out along with several other bogus charges, including a carpet cleaning fee!! This place isnt worth having to deal with the terrible management.

Sucks!
I thought it was going to be a nice place to live. But then we got the keys and we walked in and I wanted to screammmm!!! The carpets had stains in them and we asked them if they could fix it all they could do was clean them again but the stains were still there. At the other apartment complex we came from they changed the carpets out alot because i ALWAYS saw the truck with carpet in the back that they were about to replace. I should of never changed apartments. Then the mosquitoes were insane my poor infant looked like he had chicken pox for 2 months it was soo sad. Then they said we cant do anything get a fogger but with a infant we couldnt because of the risks and then they ended up filling the ditch with dirt and it helped till they came back and when i called again they said we cant do anything and then i reminded them they needed to fill it back up again. Then the ppl with dogs let them bark at all times. The porches look horrible ppl can keep anything and everything on them and they dont seem to care how trashy it looks. and gates are always broken takes them forever to fix them. and when you call them u have to keep calling back. Horrible experience!

Lying Bastards!!
My roomate lived there for a whole year, moved in to a ground floor apartment with already worn n stained carpets, when we called the office, they offered to lend us their personal home vac, instead of offering to professionally clean them. We moved in to warped and scraped countertops, serious plumbing issues and the constant rollypolly invasion that culminated with small crickets... and let me emphasize that WE R CLEAN PEOPLE. They did nothing to resolve our issues, other than supposedly sending somebody to fumigate. While we lived there my car was broken into and there was a stand off with th polic and one the tenants... it was on tv an everything. Not to mention the hidden valet trash pick up charges that jacked up our rent $45, for one bag!! Upon move out, we followed their instructions given, to then find out that not only did they keep most of out dep for admin fees, and then turned around and screwed us over by charging us for that same nasty --- countertop that was jacked up when we moved in and it was stated in the move in inspection!! They never called us or sent us notice of th charges, i didnt even fin out until th freakin credit bureau calld 3 mos later. I would not recommend this complex as a place to live. Unless u want to be screwed over.

HELL NO!!!
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Silver Rock is the worst apartment ever. Our experience here was DREADFUL at best. The pool was never able to be used. The gym has all broken equipment. The staff is very rude and to get anything worked on in your apartment will take FOREVER. When we left sathe apartments we had the carpets shampooed twice and we did the walk through with them when we left. They only told us that they would have to replace bulbs and clean the fan...THAT WAS IT...but when we got our bill they charged 75 for carpet cleaning and even charged us for things that as a resident you would get for free. We went back to dispute and they said there was nothing we could do because they charged for the carpet after we did the final walk through. Complete dishonesty. DO NOT MOVE HERE. There are places in the same area for the same price that will treat you way WAY better.

WORST Manager EVER!!
Skipped out - thats right I SKIPPED out with only a month left on my lease! I manage an apartment community in SA but would NEVER even treat my WORST resident the way Erin treated me. The apartment itself isn't bad but Erin is running the property into the ground. She cant keep a staff so the work orders take over a month to be done (including a/c in 100 degrees). Contacted the home office and they are obviously oblivious to their poor judgement of a manager. I had obvious mildew in my bathroom that they just covered up by "dapping" the tiles back on the mildew. Her staff continues to change because they cannot work with her. When you call her she talks to you like you are "lower" than her and seems put out that she even HAS to talk with you the resident. My apartment was infested with roaches which is documented and was never resolved. My neighbors wheels were stolen (which I don't blame on mgmt it happens EVERYWHERE) BUT they tagged his car the same day and threatened that they were going to tow it cause his tires were stolen!! REALLY!! Give the guy a break his tires were stolen and his car left on blocks!! Erin G. I pity you and and I feel sorry for Harbor Group cause as I said the apartments are nice but you have run the property into the ground and they are obviously blind to your LACK of management skills. Silver Rock Apartments in themselves are very nice but get rid of the trash in the office!! Watch out renters she will charge you for the dust on your plugs - seriously she needs to get a damn life. View my pictures to see for yourself!!

HORRIBLE WASTE OF MONEY AND MY TIME
Seriously! Do not waste your money here. Go to Verde Braun which is next door to this place. ---- the so called property manager is so rude and lazy. Every time I go into the office to report a maintaince problem she is never there. Then she has the nerve to tell me she doesnt know about my maintaince problems. If I was the property manager I would know what the hell is going on in my apartment buildings. Maintaince is quick at what they do, and clean up after they do what they need to. Ive had no problems with noise in my area, but if you have a newborn or baby dont get a complex near the main road. Fire trucks and ambulance go by every day and its loud.

Still a great place to live
The front office staff still deliver every ounce that they should. Erin, Dee, Christine (former and new staff as well) manage the place well, keep it clean, enforce the policies strictly and keep it safe. The problem with this website is that it's more used for a complaint forum and the satisfied residents need to step up to the plate and provide feedback as well. I last posted in May and I stand strong in my feelings about this place. The maintenance is great, management handles business and it's a good sound place to live. I've lived in a 3 bedroom on the 2nd floor and a 1 bedroom on the 3rd floor thus far. I received my post move out bill from the 3 bedroom and it was exactly what I expected in fees and cost...no more, no less (among other things I didn't clean the oven or stove and was rightfully charged). When you sign your lease you have to read it and understand that you're going to be charged for every hole, every thing left dirty and any amount of wear. That's apartment living folks. When you've lived in enough apartments, you'll come to understand this. They give you a list to use when you move out that lets you know the cost per item. You know up front what to expect when you move out so it shouldn't be a surprise when you're billed for every single item that they tell you that you'll be billed for in the beginning. The noise level is acceptable and the place definitely has families and kids and dogs...just like any other decent area does. It's a good place to have children and a great place to live once you get to meet your neighbors and become friends with the office staff. They regularly host social mixers and it's a great idea to attend if you truly value the Texan way of knowing your neighbors. Those naysayers on this site who complain otherwise just need to move to another complex or rent a house. My guess is that those who complain, will complain regardless of the circumstances. The pool is kept in good condition, the gym is kept in good condition. Despite a few vehicles being broken in to and several other incidents, it's a safe place to live and raise a family. You're going to have the bad seeds who cause harm to others and make life difficult regardless of where you live. Read the reviews for any other 10 apartments in San Antonio and you'll find that this place, even with the negative comments, is still better than most of them. The buildings are of sound construction and you'll get exactly the privacy that you should have in an apartment complex: your neighbors will hear you and you'll hear them when you crank your TVs and stereos, so be kind and courteous to each other to make it work. It's an apartment, not a house and some people expect WAY too much when living on top of, below and side by side one another. Parking is adequate and I've always been able to park in front of my units for the almost 4 years that I lived there. Door front trash service = A in my book, especially living on the 3rd floor...if you don't like the mandatory trash service, sign a lease somewhere else instead of complaining...it comes with the lease and that's how it is. No one is twisting your arm to live there. This is not a section 8 complex so you won't see much riff-raff hanging out here other than a few misguided teens. It's gated for the little bit of extra security and is much higher security than the other apartments down the road. Management is quick to respond with troubles and maintenance when you use the proper channels. Their web portal allows you to make maintenance requests online as well as pay your rent online. You get what you pay for here. If you choose an apartment with upgrades you're going to pay a little more. If you choose a unit that hasn't been upgraded you'll pay less and get some older fixtures and carpet that has been cleaned. You'll have the option to go month-to-month when your lease has ended and it will come at a premium. I stayed 4 months past my lease on a month-to-month basis on my first apartment at a charge of $200 more per month. The option was to sign a new lease, move or stay temporarily in this unit while I figured out what I wanted to do. It was a fair price for the option that I chose. In the end, due to circumstances beyond my control I was forced to move away and SR allowed me to exit my final lease early. The terms were fair and amicable and they did me a huge favor by letting me out of the lease. If I ever return to the area, I can promise you that SR will be the first place I look for apartment living. BTW, 3 bedroom CPS highest bill was $210/lowest was $70. 1 bedroom CPS bill highest was $115/lowest was $41. Avg water bill was $22 based on the system they used for billing. Carports and garages available for rent at your leisure. Love it or leave it...it's your choice to be there. Ridiculous
I wish I would have taken into consideration all of the bad reviews Silver Rock has before moving in. This place is ridiculous. First of all, it is mandatory to pay for valet trash even if you don't use it. If you want to get a pet you have to pay an exorbitant non-refundable fee in addition to monthly pet rent. Through my own experiences as well as those I have talked to, maintenance has a lot of improvement to make before being considered adequate. They advertise that they are a gated community but the gate is usually broken as well as the equipment in the gym. I read over the reviews of Silver Rock that are positive and I am convinced that they are probably written by employees.

Good Experience
We've had a really good experience living here. The property is well maintained, the pool is clean, the staff notifies you if they're going to shut the water off or anything like that. Newsletters and emails ask residents to clean up after their pets and keep their balconies clean and inform residents of social events going on in the clubhouse (like ice cream days and potlucks, visits from local physicians and banks). The mails area is well kept and has a bulletin board for residents. Maintenance responds in a timely matter, and quickly in emergencies. We had a toilet overflow late one night and they were there within an hour os so, vacuumed up all the water, pulled up the carpet and left a fan for the rest of the night to dry it out completely, and were back again early the next morning to take care of any water damage and re-secure the carpet. The management is always friendly and attentive whenever we go in to the office or need help in the business center. The kids who live near us occasionally run around yelling early in the morning, but we haven't complained to the management yet. And thats generally the fault of bad parenting. Also, the little boy in the apt above us often jumps and stomps around, sometimes shaking our whole apartment, and generally sounds like a tap dancing grizzly bear, but we talked to his parents about it once and they seemed a bit overwhelmed, so we've left management out of it. All in all though, my roommate and I have had a great experience living here.

This place is a JOKE!!!
They fail to notify you when people come out and blow damn dirt, rocks and leaves all over your car. And I'm pretty sure they know who I am since I went in today and told them they need to do something about it. It is required by law and I'm pretty sure by the apartment that they tell you when these people come out and do this. The assistant manager just looked at me and said well they come on Tuesdays. Okay -----, because I freaking work and I know the damn time's right. They are not busy, every time I go in there they are sitting on there --- with the exception of Mrs. Dee. Like they can't type up a letter or something and say hey this is whats happening on this and this day. Another reason I'm leaving after a short 6 month stay, is because they want us to re do our application and pay a fee on top of it as well. Really are you freaking kidding me. I pay damn 1000 a month for this apartment. Dont get me wrong its nice but not worth the price. And if you plan to get a carport and try to cancel it they wouldn't let you do it until your lease is up. We are going to Verde Braun, and we are paying so much less, and if we plan to get a carport we can cancel any time. The review are better and so are the apartments. I usually didn't judge by the comments that i saw on Silver Rock Apartments, but i should have. This place is horrible. Oh and they leave the gates open all the damn time. So no it's not a gated area.

very noisy -day and night
We thought the apartments looked terrific until we moved in and found that the pool is not clean and is so dirty we don't even use it and the gym equipment is ALWAYS broken. Our neighbors have loud parties at wee hours of the morning and children are "allowed" to play in the stairwell (which echos ) and makes for lots of noise -it is so loud we have to turn our TV up way loud just to hear it especially on weekends when the kids have no school. I love kids don't get me wrong but they should not play and litter in the hall and stairs. The parking is terrible -if you get home as I do after 6 PM -you have to park far away from your building. I have made many complaints about the pool and gym to no avail -the staff makes excuses ' the pool guy was sick ' -I guess he has been sick for over 9 months now because I haven't seen the pool clean enough to go into since we moved in. The appearance is deceptive when you go on a tour of the model unit and the living room is TINY !! All in all we cannot wait for our lease to be up and move out.........

The office staff is very incompetent, nonprofessional, and very unhelpful. All the good reviews written are by the staff. Some do live here but of course they do that to get on the managers good side. The gym is always broken. At least 5 machines are broken and haven't been fixed for a LONG time. I wouldn't suggest moving here!!!

THE SO CALLED MANAGEMENT TEAM ARE -------!!!
They are all smiles and friendly when you are trying to move into the apartment, thats what had me sold. But as soon as I moved in and started asking questions they were all ------- and kept changing stuff around. The only person who was nice from the begining was Mrs. Dee, she is incredibly nice. But the bigger one, and the skinny one with the big nose dont know how to run a business. The apartments look nice, but if you look closely at your walls they just patch things over, and paint over stuff. This isn't the place to be waisting your money. The trash service is a joke. Why the hell do I want to pay $25 plus to have someone pick up my trash when there is a damn trash can across the way. Hopefully people see this review b/c its a waste of time and money.

Save yourself now....don't move here.
Worst rental experience I've ever had. The office management team at Silver Rock is extremely unprofessional and the property manager takes everything personally. She is rude and seems to enjoy talking down to tenants. Trust that she will be completely vindictive when it comes to move-out time...boy, you are gonna PAY! Other than that, the maintenance staff is incompetent. Had an alarm system that never worked even though they had come to "fix it" 3 times and the lead maintenance man was completely wasted drunk when he returned an emergency maintenance phone call one night. He basically told me to deal with the issue until the next morning. I had some really great neighbors and the place has nice curb appeal, but watch your back! You are a big, fat dollar sign once you sign that dotted line at Silver Rock.

Overall an enjoyable stay
I lived in Silver Rock for over a year and a half and overall I was satisfied with my stay. It was very quiet and the one time I did have a issue with noise it was taken care of. The same can be said for any maintenance issues I ran into. They even have events at the office so that fellow residents and the staff can get to know each other.I can't speak for others, but everything is laid out in the lease in terms of fees, policies, etc. I switched units and did have a charge(which I was responsible for),but the office worked with me and when I moved out for good I made sure everything was thoroughly clean and in order. I had to end my lease early and had no problems in doing so and in fact they made sure I had all of the info I needed to make my move an easy one. All in all I enjoyed my time at Silver Rock and recommend it as great place for working professionals. Just be sure thoroughly read your lease and call or go to the office and see any of the ladies for any issues. If I ever come back to SA they will be on my list of places.

Silver Rock
This place is a joke. Signed a six month lease and let me tell you it was a HORRIBLE. They will tow you car if you park under the carports for a second, or if u forgot something and have to run back in. Very rude staff especially the lady who seems to always be pregnant. OLD OLD OLD appliances and the so called "tile" lifts up daily. And also you should be scared of the rain when you live here because these apts leak like crazy. So after moving out i thought my bad luck changed until i received a bill from silver rock.... OVER 500.00 in so called "damages" I left the apt they same way i received it, i even shampooed the carpet. bottom line was there is no way i should owe anything in damages. This place is horrible, SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE <OR SILVERROCK WILL TAKE IT AND GIVE YOU A HORRIBLE APT AND HORRIBlE SERVICE.
