I went into Westover Oaks today to ask about a one bedroom one bathroom apartment and the staff at this complex was more than helpful. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and really seemed like they had a passion for what they did. Most of the places I had gone to the last couple of days, definitely had a scripted feel to their interaction with me and some were just not helpful at all. They worked with me for about two hours trying to figure what was best for me and what would be available during the time I needed to move in. It is a bit pricey, but with this, community you definitely get what you pay for. I will more than likely sign a lease with them and I have no doubt that they will not disappoint!

I have lived here for almost a year and a half. I think they are great and any time we have a maintenance issue it is taken care of very quickly! One thing that has bothered me is there are children running up and down the stairs continuously. I have personally asked them to stop, but now that i know you can contact the courtesy officer i will do that next time. I also saw a kid peeing off of the 3rd floor balcony once The apartments are beautiful inside and out. Valet trash is picked up quickly! I never have an issue with parking. Staff is always great and helpful! A little pricey!

After living here for a year, this once beautiful complex has dramatically taken a turn for the worse. Pet owners continuously leave dog droppings allover the complex. Management has been notified but to no avail. Kids roam the parking lots all hours of the nite, kids that don't live in this complex. The neighborhood around the complex is run down, crime infested, and really not a feel safe environment. Management staff is so blind to what is really going on around the complex, but act like all is well. Security lighting is out and has been for the last 6 months. MGR doesn't seem to care

SO FAR WE LOVE OUR APARTMENT. MOSTLY I LOVE THE FLOOR PLAN AND THE AMOUNT OF SPACE, MOSTLY CLOSET SPACE. THE FINISHINGS ARE NICE AND THE OPEN FLOOR PLAN IS A PLUS. THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL, HOWEVER I DO THINK THE MAINTANCE STAFF CAN BE FRIENDLIER, MORE HELPFUL.

Overall I like Westover. Rent is a bit high though the product is worth I think. Only concern is parking is starting to become a Hassel. I wouldn't be opposed to designated guest and residents parking with some sort of parking sticker.

I am currently living at Wesover Oaks and I am very happy here. I have lived in several apartments but never in one where I didn't have any complaints until I moved here. The office staff if always very friendly and easy to talk to. Maintenance staff is very punctual and usually complete whatever it is I need on the same day, which is very impressive considering that I have lived in previous communities where it would take several days to get a simple light bulb replaced. The community and apartment itself is beautiful and very well maintained....I would definitely recommend living here!

When I was looking to move into my first apartment, I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for. All of the places I was looking all had something i did not like about it, and the majority of the 2 bedrooms were around $1300! Just driving by, after I had already made a decision, the beautiful stone buildings of Westover Oaks caught my eye, so I pulled in to check. I knew that something THIS nice could not be in my price range at all, but figured it would be nice to see what a nice home would look like. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Melissa, and offered a seat that conveniently had a bowl of my favorite candy sitting right in front of me! After the initial greeting exchange, Melissa told me that the two bedroom was not only in my price range, it was the most inexpensive 2 bedroom apartment I have seen in all of my time searching. I immediatly payed the deposit, without even consulting with my soon to be roommate. Another great thing was that the initial deposit, because I am in the military, was only $150, and it wasnt even a real deposit because it was put towards the rent the following month! After my roommate and I had already enjoyed our new home for roughly 6 months, another friend of mine fell on some tough times and wasnt being treated fairly by his apartment complex. He decided it was time to find a new place to live, and he needed to find somewhere fast. When we went down to the office at Westover Oaks and explained the situation, we were first told that we would not be able to move into a 3 bedroom until the beginning of the following month, which would be too late. As we left the office and headed up to my apartment, the office manager called us immediately, stating that she would like to help us, and asked if we would come in the following day to talk. We agreed, and thank goodness we did! Not only did her smiling face and upbeat attitude shed a better light on our day, but she was able to get us into the 3 bedroom apartment that we wanted, and get this-- we were able to move in the following week! We were given the following thursday-monday to finish moving into the new place. When thursday arrived, we were all ready to start the move in. Unfortunately, I had an emergency situation occur and in turn had to be hospitalized until tuesday(the day after our keys were due). The management was VERY understanding, and gave us an extension to friday(giving us a total of 7 days to move in). We were almost finished on thursday, but still not being well, I wasnt moving very fast. To make matters worse, one roommate was at work all night and the other had business in Houston he had to tend to. In the midst of lugging a couple bags down the stairs, i received a call from the office. The manager had called me to tell me that she understands how difficult my situation was, and she wanted to help. I was given a "direct order" to only get my things out of the apartment and turn in the keys the next day. She informed me that the cleaning of the apartment would be taken care of, free of charge! She really didnt know how much this helped me, nor does she realize how grateful both myself and my roommates are. Our stay at Westover Oaks has been such a pleasure. I would recommend these apartments to anyone We plan on staying here for a long time to come!

I just moved in and all I can say is .........I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!!! What an awesome staff. Melissa was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! She kept me informed at every moment, which was awesome being I was moving from another state. When I finally moved in I had the pleasure of meeting The manager who came out her office to greet me on the day I moved in. I felt as if she was someone I had knew all my life as we traded dog stories, honestly I felt like they were personally waiting to meet me; Everything was so prepared and flowed effortlessly. My apartment and the community itself makes me feel like I'm staying in a suite at a 5 star resort! They say home is where the heart is, and I say with confidence, IT SURE FEELS GOOD TO BE HOME!

Hi, I have just moved here from Australia and will be working downtown for the next three years. Westover oaks is in a great location convenient to downtown about twenty minutes drive and North West Vista College for my daughter about thirty minutes by bus with a bus stop right outside the front entrance to the complex. The process of obtaining this rental apartment was made so easy with the assistance of the staff from the office As you can imagine this could be quite difficult but not for these guys. They are friendly and courteous and always willing to help. The three bedroom apartment is near new and very comfortable and suits our needs well. Plenty of car parking and also lock up garage for a nominal monthly fee. The facilities here are first class with a large pool and entertainment area and convenient gym. and I would highly recommend this apartment complex to any of my work collegues friends.

I been living in this apartments for a while and everything has been great. I live in front of the pool and I have no complains!! I don't understand the people that say that it's noise in front of the pool because its not. Yeah people go to the pool and once in a while they have parties that end by 9:30 no later then 10pm which i am surprise. They have music or the TV on at the pool but i can barely hear them, i have never seen them fight or be rude. People around here mind their own business and are nice. I think the walls are thick because i have never heard my neighbors, unless they are super quiet. Its very safe, pet friendly and the girls at the office are helpful. They are a little pricier but that's what i like, because the apartments are very nice, clean, cozy and everything works and if something breaks they send someone right away to fix it.

I recently moved into Westover Oaks, and every aspect has been great so far! The management staff has remained in constant contact, making sure everything is to my satisfaction. The apartment itself is top notch and extremely comfortable; it felt like "home" from the day I moved in. I'm looking forward to my future here!

Is there even a security officer at night. I was told there was but not only is he never seen but the pool parties get way out of hand and no one does anything. Beautiful place to live but not the best place to get good sleep due to the parties that occur in the after hours.

Dear Prospective Resident, :) Let me preface this by saying that up until a month ago, I was in the multi-family housing industry for going on 5 years. I was a leasing consultant for 1.5 years and an assistant manager for 2.5 years. The company I worked for before moving to San Antonio has been at the top of the 'Forbes Top 100 Companies' for the past 6 years (and was in the top ten 6 years in a row). So I know what good customer service is when it comes to multi- family management and what it isn't. My family and I looked at several communities that a locator sent us to. (Be careful when using a locator, sometimes they will take you to communities that pay them the best commission instead of those that would be the best fit for you.) We went to Alamo Ranch (yuck) and The Lodge at Westover Hills (condescending staff). When we arrived at Westover Oaks, we were greeted right away, thanked for waiting and was shown the model without being rushed (although they were busy that day). I always used to tell people that came to see me looking for apartments "You get what you pay for" You can go down the street for something that is a little less expensive, but good customer service and nice apartments are worth the piece of mind. Parking in my area is harder to find at night, but that is normal at any apartment community. The maintenance is responsive and friendly as is office staff. Ask for Claudia if possible. I feel safe in my apartment. Our electricity bill is not out of control as other reviews try to make it seem. I stay home all day, every day, we eat 90 percent of our meals at home and we live on the third floor which is always harder to cool than a first or second floor. As far as noise, I am actually in shock that I never hear my neighbors even talking. Maybe they are super quiet people, I don't know but I'm shocked that I don't ever hear them. I have introduced myself to all of my neighbors and everyone is kind and neighborly. I would like to respond to some of the negative comments that continue to show up. When I first arrived in early July, the pool was very full and very loud. I have a pool view so I know what I'm talking about. It has been at least 3- 4 weeks since I have seen large crowds of people at the pool. This may be due to the emails that have been sent regarding pool tags, it could be due to the office staff calling those residents who were inviting too many people, it could have been due to the responsive courtesy officer. Who knows, but its not an issue anymore. I also want all prospective residents to know that if this is the only issue that people have, then count your blessings. I have heard horror stories of people being without AC for days and days, appliances not working, apathetic staff, the list goes on. Please take 'anonymous' posts with a grain of salt. If they are legit complaints, why wouldn't someone take ownership and put their name on it? Secondly, if it's a legitimate complaint write a review and move on. But to continue to troll new reviews and respond to each one, really? People may set out to try to make the office staff look bad, but they are actually just making their own complaints seem trifle. If they respond to this review, they prove my point. Most of the time people who complain here, complained about the last place and will complain about the next one too. Don't let them get in your head. You will love living here. P.S. If your from out of town..location is great too. A lot of stuff to do in the area.

When I was looking for a neighborhood to move to I blindly chose this neighborhood because they were brand spanking new and opened around the time of my prospective move in date. Initially it was owned for a short term by "Lincoln property" which my lease was through. After some time it was taken over by Venterra realty, and you can tell their heart and soul is into making the property decent and liveable for EVERYONE. Granted a lot more rules and restrictions were brought along with the acquisition, but they weren't anything a mature resident couldn't handle ( park in your own carport, pool curfew, random audits etc...) The only few inadequacies are the lack of parking ( which in no way is at the fault of management) and the occasionally shoddy gate (electric equipment and rain don't mix wel, but there's two and one always works) . The rent went up, but that shouldn't be any surprise to anyone with a basic understanding of how the simple concept of "Supply/Demand" works. Also lease terms didn't change with the acquisitions; but only if you signed a new lease with Venterra. They are extremely clean, fair, nice, and work extremely hard. Its obvious the property manager loves what she does, and her heart is in the property. Naturally we're all stressed out and unfortunately I have a bad habit of emanating my stresses; but every time I'd walk into that office with a complaint ( one time a plain clothed courtesy officer mistakenly knocked on my door at a weird hour) and they apologized profusely and sent me on my way with a smile. I can't say I've always felt the same at my previous neighborhoods ( I've lived all over the united states for a number of reasons.) Plus there's nothing ore comforting than knowing a City officer is patrolling the neighborhood. The fees are a bit steep, but relatively decent compared to neighborhoods in the area. As service member and I value attention to detail greatly, even if it means upsetting a few bad apples for the greater good. Its evident every day that Westover Oaks clearly values their residents and their time with the utmost integrity. In short, if you want a frat house style rule-free type neighborhood- This neighborhood is NOT for you. However, if you want a safe, clean, beautiful, mindful, out of your business, respectful neighborhood- Westover Oaks is the place for you.

I am (1) smart enough not to lease an apt by a pool and (2) nowhere near the pool so can't testify as to what these people are saying. However, I can address the electricity issue. I live in one of the largest apts here and my electric bill runs around $80/mo. It runs 24/7 on 74 degrees. It's cold in here. As for the rest of the complaints, if a pool party is your major concern, count yourself lucky. I just came from an apt complex where cabinet doors fell off, the refrigerator broke down, the AC went out twice, the carpets had huge rips in them. It was awful. Maintenance showed up whenever. And with all of that, I STILL say that Venterra properties have the best apts in Texas. I've lived in 4 of them over the years. Mgmt has always been great and is here too.

To start off on a positive note the apartments themselves are beautiful, the interior layout, counter tops and bathrooms are top notch. I love my apartment. Alberto is very tedious with making sure the pool area is clean and that the chemicals in the pool are balanced. He definitely is a great addition to the westover oaks team. But it is truly a shame that there is ALWAYS parties by the pool every weekend, the residents that actually live here avoid the pool on the weekends because of it. The huge social gatherings are crazy, management makes rules but does not enforce them. I watched a manager give a tour and pass by the pool and children were hanging off the fountain and she didn't say a thing just walked by and continued with her tour. Trying to get in touch with anyone in the office is a project unless you go down there directly. As residents we pay top of the dollar prices for these apartments versus surrounding complexes. With the price we payee should get nothing less but the best. Inside the apartments that is what we get, outside not so much. Not being able to go to the pool and relax on the weekends because people are throwing parties and inviting 20-30 people who don't live here ? The rule is 2 guests per lease holder. That rule is never enforced and I have talked to many residents who have the same complaints. The door to door salesmen and the flyers all over the place don't make this place look any better. It's gated but anyone could come in and out of here with no problem if they have a little patience.Water is always cheap here but if you actually cook clean and use the utilities and air conditioning expect a 150$ electric bill, when we signed our lease we where actually told that the utilities wouldn't usually exceed 20 dollars for water and 50 dollars for electricity for a family of 4 because everything was energy efficient. That was a LIE ! Hopefully with the new courtesy officer things will get a little better. Apartments get an A Management gets a D. We will be waiting to see an improvement !

I had just found this review, first we love living here, but could you address a few things?Back to the issues of parties and the pool.I still think you could limit the number of guests at a party, this weekend there were 2 large parties, one had a large number of guests and I knew who they were, they were not several families. The mother lived here, daughter had the party about 3rd at least. In the large number in the pool maybe a handful lived here.It was very hot,I should not have to stay home so many non-residents can have fun. When you have to have one high table, two umbrella tables, and one table of your own that's large.Another issue, below us as I've mentioned leave trash can out 24/7,that shouldn't matter to me but it doesn't look nice, then people are using patio's and balconies as there own storage unit with large bikes etc.We still rent a unit in Illinois because it looks junky if you load it with stuff. But all and all we love it here,Vanessa thank you for coming to the pool so fast when I mentioned some people at the pool, you guys are doing a good job. Thanks!
