I try to provide real feedback on these bc I know I read all reviews (with a grain of salt) before looking at any other apartments. I've lived here since Oct 12, and overall it has been fine. Nothing flashy, but not terrible. The office staff is very responsive and helpful. Gym is really nice. Apts. are OK, certainly a lot of noise from the floors above, but neighbors are all pretty quiet (aside from the random late nights in the game room area that seems to echo throughout the entire courtyard). Overall, for the price it's not bad. And at times, it actually feels like you don't live in Bailey's Crossroads, which was my biggest fear when moving in.

I moved into this apartment complex in 2011 and lived here for 2 years, the first year wasn't as bad and moving is a pain. It all went downhill the second year they got new management. The building looks nice but it is cheaply made. HORRIBLE noise and the management does NOTHING about it. You can literally hear the what the person in the next apartment is saying and it constantly felt like the person above you is STOMPING all day and night. It got so bad that I broke my lease and moved to a building that is concrete. I cannot begin to tell you how terrible and rude management is, do not move here you will have sleepless night and poor management to deal with any issues. Paying even $150 a month more somewhere else is worth it. Not to mention this place is overpriced for how bad the noise and management got. BEWARE!

We have lived here for 3 years and have loved it (obviously!) It's a great location close to the highway and shops but while still being quiet. We have never had any issues with neighbor noise or activity (and we live near a main door!) The apartments are well done with great finishes and are large for the area. They are very pet-friendly (and even have a dog run!). Since they are fairly new, we have rarely had any maintenance issues but one we did (when we first moved in) was resolved extremely quickly. We are very happy with our decision to live here and are sad to move (relocating to NY). It is absolutely a great place to live!

I was moving to the area for work and Bailey's Crossing had everything I needed. My own washer and dryer in unit, big balcony with a view, a dog friendly community, and the ability to get to and from the metro easily. The rent is affordable for the area, with underground parking that I love; when it's raining outside I don't have to worry about walking to and from in the rain with my groceries. The pool is awesome and the amenities are great! The staff are always willing to help and maintenance responds quickly to any maintenance calls. Only one thing I'd change is that I wish it was within walking distance from the metro. It would save a taxi cab fee coming home after a night of partying in the city.

There was no sound insulation between apartments. As a result, my life depended heavily on the mercy of my next-door neighbors. One of my neighbors happened to be a night owl who had parties often in the middle of the night. I wasn't able to sleep. When I had important meetings at work the following day and my neighbor was having a big party, I had to get up in the middle of the night and drove to a hotel in order to get some rest. The management did give me the option of switching to another apartment. However, after talking to potential new neighbors, I decided that there were noise concerns with most of those apartments. For instance, someone told me that a tenant played loud music almost every weekend. The main issue was lack of sound insulation. When your upstairs neighbor walked, it felt like an elephant! When my realtor walked with me in the hallway, someone probably happened to be running in the hallway upstairs. She heard it and commented that it would be quieter if I lived in the middle of the belt-way! Another inconvenience - My Verizon wireless got weak signals in that community. As a result, I sometimes missed calls. To test if the signal issue exists, you can go to the leasing office and make a phone call from there. If you cannot make a phone call near the leasing office (on the pool-side), there is no Verizon wirelss signal in that area.

My husband and I moved to Bailey s Crossing in August of 2012 after looking at dozens of apartments in Alexandria, Arlington, Springfield and Woodbridge. We chose apartment living 11 years ago and this is the third place we ve lived, the other two places were in Spotsylvania County. Bailey s is the best Apartment Community we ve seen or lived in. There is a sense of community very hard to find in other places and the apartments are new, clean, safe and sound proof. We love having visitors so we can show them what a beautiful apartment we are renting and how great apartment living can be. The leasing office staff and management contribute to this sense of community and take pride in their job and Bailey s. The maintenance crew is quick with repairs and are eager to assist residents in the not so simple regular tasks such as changing light bulbs in the high ceilings so that residents don t get injured. This community is very dog friendly and the grounds are well kept. This is Luxury Living at it's best!!!

I don't like living here and I cannot wait for my lease to be up. I can hear everything my neighbors do... Insulation doesn't exist here! If you ask to be moved to a different apartment you will have to pay a transfer fee and renew your contract!!! I can't wait to get out. The only good thing about this place is the parking and the leasing office employees. The only problem is that they cannot fix problems with noises... many have complained and all they say is that they will have to investigate. Don't waste your time for the kind of money that you will be paying. If these apartments were insulated I would give it a 5. If you can sleep for 4 hours daily and be ok then move here. I hate this place!

I went to visit this place after reading some of the reviews and I can understand why there are complaints about the customer service. The front office seems to be juggling too much which I was willing to look past. But the person who was very nice, but did something that was very unprofessionl. Then this same person shared some information with me that I later realized contradicted itself. (My details are vague b/c the place has my contact info and you never know how people might react. The place is really nice and the residents who live there seem friendly, but after reading some of these reviews coupled with the experience I had, I am not confident that if I had a problem while staying there, it would be addressed. The cost of the place does not seem to match the level of service from management.

Horrible customer service. Overpriced. Did I mention horrible customer service? If you dont prefer building alarms that randomly go off for a few hours, don't rent here. If you want to see some awesome customer service, look at the comment below. Yeah, you're not the post office, Einstein, at least those gov't workers have slightly ok customer service!

Used to be a nice place. The units are still very nice and the grounds are generally pretty well kept. The pool is always clean. The neighborhood itself has gone downhill with at least two break ins at the complex in the last year. Cops are showing up a lot more frequently and the type of clientele that seems to be renting is discourteous and filthy. Trash shoots are clogged, people throw food, trash, dirty diapers etc on the floor of the trash rooms instead of walking the extra five feet to the shoot. (Hello roaches and other pests with all that food on the floor). Families don't reign in their children half the time and the noise from some neighbors is rediculous. We can hear our neighbors screaming at each other almost nightly. We can hear the neighbor baby cry/ scream at all hours, and if your neighbor (like ours) has an obnoxious untrained dog? Good luck... The leasing office has tried to help but can only do so much. Some people are just jerks and poor neighbors. It's hard to recommend a place when you just don't know what you'll be living next to. If you are a non smoker and live anywhere near a smokers unit, expect to have your unit smell like smoke.

Overall Great Place to Live and Reasonable Management
Hi there, I am renewing my lease at Bailey's Crossing because I think it is an overall great place to live. Although it is a bit pricey and there have been some recent changes that annoy people, I feel the staff is very accomidating and professional, as long as you are professional. Here are the things I enjoy about the complex: VERY nice and new amenities within the apartments. The kitchen and countertops are very nice and the bathrooms are great. Closets are HUGE. There are small touches that make this place charming such as heated doornobs and an extra layer of insulation in the walls. However, the A/c units are not the best and don't heat cool the units completely evenly. We have also had issues with our fire alarms, which were waaayy too sensitive, so we had to disconnect in order to cook at all. Once we had to evacuate the building at 2 am due to a fire alarm going off. The club house and gym are great features and the pool area is large with a pretty shaded patio for lounging. There is no playground. I have found parking for residents and guests to be easy. They changed there guest policy for a short while, but now guests can park freely which is nice. Staff is flexible yet professional. If you want to install different fans etc. it is OK and they will even help you do it! I have found the staff very accomidating, as well as very nice and profesional. I have had my concerns regarding shuttle changes and increases in the renewel in the lease, but the staff has effortlessly worked to help find reasonable solutions. Regarding noise and construction...This apt. is next to Leesburg Pike so expect some noise. However, it was constructed very well and I have found sound penetration minimal despite having an apt. close to the Pike and despite being a lite sleeper. Make sure you are aware of the shuttle schedule and whether it fits your needs prior to signing your lease. The apt. is not the most convenient for commuting into the city. Overall, I would reccomend.

Not a great place for Kids
We live on the top floor and the people that live below us always complain about the noise. We probably got 3 complain letters within the a month that we moved in. My son is turning two and he's very active, he likes to run around. We constantly telling him to be quiet but it's not easy when he's only two and still trying to explore. We put him to bed early so that our neighbor downstairs stop complaining but even if we try to move slightly without shoes, people still complain.. In addition, when I bring my son to walk with me outside, again I have to tell him to not run around or carry him becuase one of the staff member rudely told me to be quiet. We cannot bring my son to play at the clubhouse either becuase there were couple of instance that people had to comment not to let him play. This apartment is great for people without kids. Definitely do not recommend for someone who have kids. It's very stresssful to constantly tell your kids to stop playing, or stop runninng because you are worried that people will complain.

So Far...So Good!
Just moved in recently and so far it has been great. Suzanne was my leasing specialist and she was so helpful and personable. The apartments are very nice, and believe me I have been doing my research in the area before choosing Baileys Crossing. The amenities are definitely Class-A and they even allow you to rent out their cool clubroom. I have not heard any noise from my neighbors. The office staff has been very nice and they even accepted my packages when I was out of town. Being a renter for 7 years, I would definitely recommend this community.

SHAME ON BAILY'S CROSSING!!!! !
While my son was deployed in IRAQ, he needed for me to locate an apartment for him for his return to the USA. I called Baily's Crossing and they required me to send them a refundable deposit to hold apartment #325 until I could drive to Virginia the following week to view the apartment and complete the paperwork. I mailed the deposit that day. I drove to Baily's the following week, from Pennsylvania, only to discover that they already had assigned the apartment to another applicant. Of course, they had another higher price apartment available. The new apartment was out of his price range, so I told them he would not be renting there. I have been calling them for months trying to get my son's money refunded. They have been avoiding my calls. I cannot not even get an explanation as to why they have not refunded the money. I asked the receptionist if she could inquire with the manager as to what the problem is, and why he, the manager, will not take my calls and asked her to please call me back with an explanation. Still no response from anyone. He needs to grow some kahunas and stop hiding behind the receptionist and start handling his job responsibilities. Shame on you for not refunding my son's deposit!!!! Great way to take care of our deployed military!! NOT!!!

ELEVATORS NEVER WORK
This place totally sucks. The elevators in at least one of the buildings are always breaking. When you're inside the elevator, it won't go to the 6th floor. And the other elevator won't COME to the 6th floor. This has happened at least 7 times in the last 8 weeks. Instead of fixing the problem properly, they apparently just "rig" it so it works for a few days, but then breaks again. Just awful. For the outrageous rent we pay ($3200!), the elevators SHOULD be working flawlessly, esp in a brand new building.

THE STAFF IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!
Good luck if you have a problem and need to deal with the staff at Baily's Crossing. They avoid taking your call and will not return your call. They avoid solving the problem or addressing the issue. They are extremely frustrating to deal with. When you do reach them and request a contact name and number of a person that is higher than them, they claim ignorance and do not who is higher than them?????

Just renewed my lease
I've been here a year and I love it! The staff treats me like family and any maintenance issues resolved asap. I work out at the gym all the time (the equipment is just what I need) and there is tons of parking (unlike other apartment complexes I have lived in in the area). The kitchen is my favorite part...granite and the open layout are great! Just renewed for the 2nd year.

Why am I living with the neighbors upstairs!
What do you consider neighbors? Beside you or above you? I feel like I live with the neighbors above me. I know when they walk because I hear bump bump bump, where they walk whoever lives there must have big --- feet or need to lose weight, that they have a kid who likes to run in the house back and forth back and forth, I know when they come in because I hear the door close, go on the balcony because I hear the door slide open, when they wash clothes because I hear the washer and dryer running (like now), use the toilet because I hear the flush, wash the dishes or use the faucet because I hear the water in the pipes clicking, turn on the ac because I hear it (it's on now), and THANK GOD when they finally go to bed! WHY! because I can hear it ALL,My apartment is NEVER quiet until they either go to sleep or leave and I am a very quiet person. The positive is when they are in bed sleep because they can't do anything else. The floors are pretty thick and there's carpet,so I'm not understanding why do I hear their every move. I almost hope I lose my job so I can't pay the rent. This for a whole YEAR!!!! OMGOSH!!!!!! I loved this place for a month until people started moving in around me and sadly above me. Now I have 11 more months of noise HELL!

Soon to be rats and roaches because of unclean parking garages!
I'm having a problem with them getting rid of the boxes and trash in the yellow P1 parking garage. they are piling up so bad that they overflow into the handicap space. They empty P1 brown twice a week but the other trash just stays there. I complained once and they came an hauled off half the boxes. its been 2 weeks and now more boxes and trash are piling up on top of the old. What we will soon have is unexpected tenants in the form of rats and roaches!!!! Another issue is that people put their nasty food trash down there too. Someone had a bag full of nastiness and it spilled and ran sticky juice in the area, know what maintenace did? They picked up all the trash then 2 days later found some flat boxes and paper and covered it up. Rats and roaches people!!!!! Also watch out for the bedbug epicdemic when they start selling apts for cheap because they can't sell well at the price offered now. Another point, what is the purpose of a gated community if it takes 20 second for the garage doors to open and 30- 40 seconds before they close? Anyone could follow you in in that time span.

Bad ventilation- enough to be a deal breaker.
My biggest problem with this place is the bad ventilation in the apartment and the smell of cheap paint everywhere (INSIDE my apartment, in the stairways and the corridors). This smell is going nowhere even when we have left the doors and windows wide open to air out our apartment. They have a vent hood above the stove which essentially sucks in the air and spits it right back out...so that only makes things worse. And the AC is also circulating the same air in the house so there is no ventilation whatsoever. Believe me, this is an issue that we live with everyday and is a problem big enough to be a deal breaker next year when our lease expires. Also, as mentioned in a previous post, the management did advertise a 24 hour gym which isn't the case. Another thing that we have lived and learned is that a shuttle to the metro would have been very convenient which Bailey's does not have. Now on the positive side, we hardly ever hear our neighbors.

Nice, but Its what you make of it.
I moved into a 785 sq. foot 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment four months ago. I pay $1523 a month and utilities vary between $100-$200 a month based on your electricity, water, and gas usage. I was graciously given a free year of parking which they usually charge $50 a month extra. As some previous reviews have stated, the leasing staff states that the market rate for this apartment is $1800 a month- I wouldn't pay that. After my 12 month contract expires, I'm kinda worried about how much they will jack up rent because it's an additional $200/month if you go month-to-month. The community and location is quite and I do not usually hear my neighbors. This complex does allow cats and dogs and I am fortunate enough, thus far, to not have any ankle bitters or yappy dogs by me. The entire complex is brand new and has a small work out center; business center; community room with a shuffle board, bar (for rent), pool table, flat screen TV with a WII, and an outdoor pool. Security wise, every door has magnetic locks that require a fob to gain access in addition to your own apartment keys. The same fob gives you access to the gated underground parking garage. Location wise, there is plenty of supermarkets within driving distance or a short walk. The closest Metro stop is about 4 miles away King St. (Blue Line) or Van Doran St. where you can park your car (Blue Line). The apartment staff seems attentive; however, I haven't had to complain to them and really only interact with them when I drop off my monthly rent check.

I guess i just got a good deal?
Reading the other reviews made me happy I went in August. I rented a 785 sq ft apartment for $1403 a month. They had this great deal and no parking fee, no amenity fee, no security deposit and no application fee. I absolutely love my apartment and will be moving in this Sunday. The original price of my apartment is $2004 which it will go back up to in a year, but i will be moving into a condo anyways.

the price
Enough said, the price is outrageous. They have a so called special going on, they quote 1800 for a tiny 670 sq ft (marketing price they say) my dogs house is bigger than that. But the special gives it to you for 1580 with a 12 month lease. They are in alexandria not arlington. Nice apartments but they definitely are taking advantage of the consumer. Prices online are reasonsible but they won't give you the special based on those prices. They are trying to say those prices include the special. Please! They are truly hiking up the prices. They have young employees out for a buck too. One says she lives there and pays regular rent. Sure she does, at those prices she might, if they pay her salary for three of those she makes a pretty penny.

Nice, but overpriced
I understand where the previous poster is coming from. I like my apartment, but I also believe its overpriced. I want to stay another year, and I'm hoping that they will lower the prices next year. The comfort of the place is great, however the features are not worth the high price. The appliances are sub-par, though they look very nice in the apartment. I do think that for the asking price, there should be waaaay more amenities (shuttle to the metro, concierge service, etc.). The only reason that I wouldn't recommend it to a friend is because of the price.
