As seen in photo attached we almost got hit by car on sidewalk. On Oct 15th a shooting happened in one of the buildings. Lighting around property is very dime and wife does not feel safe walking outside at night. When our lease is up we are running from this place. Doors always proped open with rocks. Garage doors break down all the time have to go out other side that is long way out or go out the garage door you come in. Hallway carpets are dirty. Trash always around garage door entry on P2 with bugs running about. Its just gotten to be a nasty unsafe place to live.

Well appointed apartment complex for the amount of rent one pays for the general area. Local commute into Arlington and surrounding area is a breeze. If you're a pet inclined individual, this community is perfect for you.

We have lived t Baileys crossing for almost a year. It started off very but has gone down hill the fastest I have ever seen. I will explain why for me baileys hs gone down hill. 1. When we moved in we where told there is a dog restriction on size and bread. Now that still did not bother me to much but when the owners of these big dogs dont pick up there dogs crap its not a small mess ndnthe property grounds is full of that mess. We walk are dogs of site now. 2. The manager does not even ask tents to verify dogs shot records. 3.Turn over for there staff is very very high nd the staff on site act like they are doing you a faver by helping tenets. All thoe ther is one young blond haired lady who is the only one that goes out of her way to help. 4. I live in building A and the carpet in hallways seems to never been vacuumed. 5. In the middle of building A by the office building when the sprinkler turns on water shots up 10 feet from the ground and a few tenets have told buildin management and has yet to be fixed. Now this would not bother me if the apartments each had there own water meters but it based on how many poeple live in apartment and apartments size on what you pay for water. So they dont care about fixing it becuase they push it to the tenets. 6. Now I dont really care about the amenities becuase I dont use them. But they are a joke. 7. In the parking garage right by the doors going to the elevator is the recycling area and sinks to high heaven. With bugs running around and liquid coming out of the trash. Dont wear nice shoes when walking into building from P2 garage are at building A. 8. The windows do not stay open and are hard to close and open. I gave up on asking for them to be fixed. 9. I have asked a few times to speak with the min manager and they never seem to be in if there is even one. 10. When we moved in there was no special or discounts are rent is 2,850 month for a 2 bedroom and den with 2 1/12 baths. But now they have lowered the rents to fill apartments are you can tell. Used to walk down hallways and was quite now its like a frat house. 11. Are electric bill want from 89 a month to almost 300 dont now why nothing has changed in are apartment. 12. We where told there was reserved parking for an dded 75 a month when we moved in. When I want to the office to get reserved parking they told me they did not have that even when I told the lady when looking at the apartment that was one key thing I wanted. They tell you what you want to hear. 13. I attached ladys review and it was not good but the office manager t the time responded saying glad you are happy with livingn at Bailys and thank you for your kind review or something like that. That told me they dont really read the reviews to try to at least listen and make chnges. 14. I wish we had wlk the grounds more andnlooked around for a few days walking around and talked to the tenets if we did we would have moved to another place. 15. Llease do your own research ask round and look at the grounds hard then make your own judgement. I just stated some not all of what we have experienced.look at the one review I did a screen shot of.

Terrible. Don't live here. There is a reason they don't post unit pictures online. Misled us about amenities in the apartment, didn't paint, didn't have carpet ready when we moved in, and BUGS. Cant wait to leave

Good place to live in overall. Great location, secured and peaceful. Amenities are great. Very friendly staff and a decent class community. The floors smell fresh all the time. I wish they would install in-elevators cameras.

I have lived in this apartment complex for six years. This complex offers endless amenities as well as its beauty. The office staff is responsive, caring, hard-working and friendly. Most of the maintenance staff is caring and gets their job done as soon as possible. I would recommend this apartment complex to everyone.

Standard apartment...nothing special but nothing really bad. Main complaint is there are a lot of kids who run up and down the hallways. This causes a lot of noise and happens at all times of day/night.

Nice apartments. The grounds are also very dog-friendly. I've never had any trouble with the staff, noise, etc. My only complaint would be that my apartment wasn't thoroughly prepped for my move in. I had to put in a lot of service requests to fix things; however, most had been tended to within a week. The amenities are a huge feature that I love. Especially the shuttle service since it runs on the weekends too!

The community is a nice place however the previous management teams have not done a good job of enforcing rules and maintaining property! The rents are high but care of community has been lacking there is high turn over because of that! Hopefuly new manager will rectify problems!

Bailey's Crossing is a wonderful community. It is close to anything you can think of, yet is set back from the traffic so it remains quiet and peaceful. Community amenities like the pool, metro shuttle, and underground tenant and guest parking are a great plus to the in-home features like an updated kitchen, big rooms, and high ceilings. I'm very happy I chose to live here and absolutely recommend this community.

Bailey's Crossing is a quiet community conveniently located close to I-395 with luxury finishes in each apartment. My favorite features are the garden tub, huge walk-in closet, linen closet and spacious balcony. I also have a unit with a gas fireplace, which is especially nice in the winter. The crown molding, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances are bonuses you wouldn't get in a lot of apartments in the area. The community pool is especially nice, well-maintained, and surrounded by beautiful landscaping.

An OK place, where the staff changes frequently. Some are very eager and helpful - some, not so much. There are very nice amenities within the apartments, but you may have to stay on maintenance to fully resolve the issue. The apartment complex is conveniently located to downtown DC as well Old Town VA.

Do not move here. I am always telling people who are touring the community not to move here because everything about it is awful. Maintenance requests take weeks (I had a leak in my water heater and my bedroom window wouldn't open, both hazards) to fix. Management is horrendous and talks down to everyone.

I have lived here for going on two years and had a wonderful experience Wednesday evening at the resident social that I had to comment on. During the event, the Community Director approached me, introduced herself and extended her hand to greet me. She asked me to share my experiences at Bailey's Crossing and listened to my concerns. She offered explanation of changes and new procedures that had been put in place to address issues, such as, relocating the recycling area, the hiring of a new janitorial service, and the change in time for trash collection. After only a short time, the difference these efforts have made is significant. Its important to give credit when credit is due. So, to the staff at Bailey's Crossing, KUDOS. You are bringing new life to this community and I look forward to more great things coming.

Poor sound proofing, poor experience with maintenance requests and repeated outages of security doors, elevator, dryer. Whole renting experience has been less than satisfactory. I don't know that I will even stay til my lease is up.

Bailey's is a good community to live in that is very close to the 395 and various routes to get into town. The overall management and maintenance have declined with staff turnover and a new management company but they are making moves to fix the property and bring it back to where it was when I first moved in. The variety of floor plans makes it so you can find any sized apartment to fit your needs.

There was an emergency in the middle of the night; the maintenance person was over an hour responding. He did a good job of neutralizing the situation once he showed up, but the worst of it had happened and been handled by myself, neighbors and the fire department. I think an on-sight maintenance worker would be very helpful to residents in emergency situations.

My wife and I have been living here for a year now and recently signed our lease for an additional 6 months. I would definitely recommend this place to live. PROS: Since our stay, management has always been friendly and helpful with anything issues or questions we had. Maintenance usually fixed our requests the same or next day. I can only think of one time when I had to call the office because the request was still open a week later. CONS: There are only two cons we really have: Thin walls and door sensors not always working. We constantly hear our neighbor(s) above us walking around (you would think they were a giant) and making loud noises. In addition, we seem to always here neighbors sound systems vibrating our walls (usually stops before it gets too late: 10ish). As for the door sensors, this is in regard to the doors to get into the building. Numerous times have the door sensors not worked and we had to walk all the way around to a separate entrance. I admit this isn't a deal breaker, but it's very inconvenient nonetheless. Overall, this is definitely a great place to live and would recommend it any day.

I ve NEVER written a review, however; I feel its necessary to inform those of you who are thinking about moving here about what I have experienced. I've been living in Bailey's Crossings for almost four years and decided not to renew my lease in June for several reasons, which I will list momentarily, but first I would like to address two of the reviews I read. I'm not sure how the person who's been living here for 3 years has not had a rent increase, but my rent has gone up (as well as others whom I know that live here or have moved because of the increases) by 2-3% EVERY year. Most of the complaints about this place are true. I too experienced the same issue with my bill being incorrect for months. I turned in the keys to the storage unit I was renting and for three months straight I saw the charges on my rent statement. Each time I wrote an e-mail to the property manager asking him to remove the charges, despite going to the rental office to sign some type of amendment to my lease to remove it. Not to mention, today (1/07/14), I went to the rental office after tracking a package I should have received. The package was supposively delivered to my apartment on December 31st, so I checked with the rental office. Low and behold, my package was there. To make matters worse, the property manager signed for it that morning and did not notify me of it s arrival. If I had not checked, I m not sure if I would have received notification from anyone in that office. Maybe he (property manager) planned to let me know about my package upon his return from vacation (on 1/09/14). THE GOOD: When we first moved in we feel in love with our apartment. We have a 2br/2ba w/den, white cabinets (rare, most are dark wood), fireplace, crown molding, SS appliances, granite countertops, walk-in closets. Apparently, this place was suppose to be condo's until the market tanked so it has nice high-end finishes. The location is superb, its close to several grocery stores, shopping and the highway. The amenities are also nice (although it cost an arm and a leg to rent the rec. room and the pool is kinda small), I often use the yoga room to workout and parking is plentiful. The maintenance staff is very responsive and can usually fix the issue on the spot. Despite these positive remarks, there are several negatives I can no longer overlook that have me wishing June would arrive sooner because I'm tempted to break my lease. These issues are: THE BAD: 1. NOISE- These apartments are POORLY constructed. I can hear my neighbor's conversation word for word, and what's going on in her apartment (this is the third neighbor in three years). She has a pool table and plays until the wee hours of the morning-I can hear her hitting pool balls all night, which has disturbed my normal sleep pattern. 1a. STREET NOISE-The courtyard view is appealing, but it s NOISY. Be prepared to be awaken by the garbage and recycling trucks, one comes around 7am (forget about sleeping in) and the other in the afternoon. 1b.TRAFFIC- On S.George Mason Dr. can get a bid loud, opening your balcony door during the warmer months is an option, if you don't mind hearing cars speeding up and down the street or can drown out the noise by turning up your t.v. and/or music. 2. DOGS-This place caters to and is overrun with dogs. I like dogs, however; inconsiderate pet owners are constantly using the courtyard at ALL TIMES of the DAY and NIGHT (sometimes after 10pm). Many of them do not clean up after their pets and the little patch of grass that was green and lush (in the courtyard), is now yellow and no longer desirable to use (unless you want to step in poo). There was a dog park area recently built, but it seems as though the majority of pet owners in building D are NOT using it. The frequency and number of dog owners in the courtyard gets worse during the Summer time, so forget about sleeping with your windows open. Also, when leaving the building, the smell of ammonia is soooo strong when walking out the front door. I believe management put up a sign asking to stay off the grass, but the smell is still atrocious. 3.RENT INCREASE- Every year, there is a rent increase. This 2-3% adds up. I recall paying less than $2100 upon moving in, now I pay almost $2400 (including $50 for parking) Today when I picked up my package, I overheard the leasing agent state a DUPONT model being available in March (1255 sq.ft.) for $2110. WHAT?!? She warned that prices change daily (the cost is market value, concessions are no longer given), however, she did let the prospective tenant know that it could get cheaper because they receive more vacate notices during warmer months. The market rate can work for or against you, depending on when you move in. That apartment is larger and cheaper than what we pay now (but it was in the same building facing the courtyard, I wanted to warn the poor woman, lol). Also, there is no loading dock so it's hard to move-in/out. 4. CLIENTLE- I noticed the type of people moving in here is on a steady decline. Many do not care to pick up after themselves. The amount of trash being left in common areas (i.e. the garage and hallways) is frequent (although I do see maintenance walking around picking up trash) and recently someone stole the last remote to the television in the yoga room (Who does that)? I reported it to management and was told a universal remote will be ordered. Someone has also stolen weights in the past. The elevator breaking down and the fire alarm issues has improved dramatically (those would have been my complaints the first year). OVERALL: In a nutshell, this review wasn t meant to scare anyone away. I simply wanted to share my experience to help others make an informed decision about where to reside. In my case, I read the reviews, saw a picture of someone s Escalade sitting on center blocks because the tires were stolen, (it happened in the same building where I reside because I met the guy-cameras are now mounted in the garage), but I still moved to Baileys Crossings because I figured my experience would be different (and it had nice features and was pretty new). If you do decide to move here, You should analyze the comments of others because if the comments/complaints seem repetitive, many people have experienced it and the probability of you experiencing the same increases. Whatever you do, I would definitely advise AGAINST moving into an apartment that overlooks the courtyard.

If you are thinking of living here get ready to constantly check your bills and be a watch dog of the staff with your money! Since moving in in late 2012, we have experienced several MAJOR account discripiences which took months to sort out. Be sure to check all of your bills and what they are recording as your charges because math and communication seems to be a sore spot for the staff.

Since I always wish that non-disgruntled tenants would post reviews more often, I'm posting this. With that said, I've been here for almost 3 years and I actually like it. I haven't had any pests, parking issues or major maintenance problems. Utilities are low because the apts are well insulated and use gas. My 4th floor pool view apt has 12ft ceilings, a fireplace, double vanity and all the nice finishes in the brochure. I've also had NO rent increase for 3 YEARS! The area has tons of shopping within walking distance or a 5-10min drive. I've experienced some of the negatives talked about by others, like the fire alarm fiasco and frustratingly bad management. Big improvement once Behringer Harvard took over. Maintenance usually comes on the same day and the community is kept very clean. The pool/clubhouse area gets noisy, even at night (management needs to crack down on that). It's not convenient to the Metro except using the apt's shuttle during rush hours. Buses run nearby but usually don't take you (at least not quickly) to the nearest Metro Station. All in all, I would renew my lease. Living with 1000 people always has problems, but BC handles it pretty well.

lease is ending at the end of the month - I am glad to be leaving. when moving in we asked about noise, we were told that there was not a noise problem. I can hear the conversations my upstairs neighbor has ... put in several maintenance requests about in unit washer dryer - it did not get fixed until husband diagnosed problem and told them specifically what needs to be fixed. Bailey's Crossing is like the Mona Lisa - pretty from a distance but when you get close ...

About my living situation at Bailey's Crossing: I'm living in a one bed, one bath model unit with a balcony in approximately 950 square feet. I have lived in the unit for just over a month at this point (May - June 2013). The unit which we are renting is also in the main building, which I am told is not concrete - unlike the taller building on the premises. I'm going to base my review on the metrics provided by Apartment Ratings to provide more detail. ***TL;DR summary - I fully recommend this property and am extremely glad that I 'moved up' about $400 from a $1500.00 a month competitor located in the area. I feel safe inside and outside of the complex, and I know that my new car is safe in the garage. Neighbors are extremely friendly, quiet, and clean.*** Parking 5 /5 There are parking garages, two levels underground on the property. I have yet to have trouble parking, and usually back into a nice space right by the elevator regardless of when I come home. Amazing! After having my car broken into and rained into for a day during one of those severe storms last spring, parking is enough to make the move worth it financially. Considering the total cost of the break-in, I would have been ahead of the game moving over a year ago despite the cost difference. Noise 5/5 I have not heard a neighbor in my time here while in my apartment. That said, in walking to the trash room from my unit I usually hear someone here or there, but nothing more than quiet conversation or a TV. I am not in the 'concrete' building (the tallest structure has concrete floors and is supposedly quieter) and the location of your unit may be something your interested in. Grounds 4/5 The grounds are wonderfully manicured and are planted with a diverse selection of plants that are groomed, watered, and maintained professionally. One complaint would have to be that the grass is soggy after it rains as there is poor drainage where I walk my dog. Maybe this is a concern for you if you're a dog lover. Also, the hydrangea most likely shouldn't be planted on the south east sides of the building as they're shade plants. All in all, these aren't serious complaints. Safety 5/5 See above comments. There's key fob entry on all the exterior doors, parking, elevators, and interior floors via the stair wells. The property is well lit at night, and I have yet to see anything 'suspicious.' Construction 5/5 I have to say that the layout of the unit is superb, the wide doors and hallways made moving in much easer than I could have hoped for. That said, if you move in, you'll need to plan on how to get your furniture inside the unit. Located in the garages, the elevators are difficult to access with most moving trucks. Personally, I paid for movers and we used dollies to bring heavy items around to the elevators. I see others on this site have complained about sub par construction, but I haven't noticed anything sup par myself. Wall mounting a 60" HDTV (my first time) was a breeze and the kitchen and bath are both a dream. In our floor plan, the washer dryer is off the bathroom in an enclosed room. While in our last property, we found ourselves unable to wash king size bedding. We even started taking our clothes, in addition to the sheets, to a coin laundry because the stacked washer didn't get the job done. Not anymore! This washer gets our clothes nice and clean, while the dryer takes much less time to dry our clothes. Having a washer dryer is a must for us, and we are very grateful for this seemingly small amenity that has a huge impact on our weekly routine. Maintenance ???/5 I have not put in a request so I am unable to rate this service. I see that workers leave a hangtag outside apartments after they are done completing a request. Looks like they leave their name and a summary of the work completed. I noted that while I was moving in, an AC unit was being replaced down the hall. It looked like a monster job, and the workers cleaned up (including vacuuming the hallway) before they left. Staff 5/5 I worked with both Wil P. and Alphonso from the leasing office when leasing and moving in. Both men are professional, friendly, and in addition to always being there, have an amazing knack for names - seriously how do you remember everyone's name? I felt as though I was making the right decision to move while touring the community with Wil, a feeling that I can only say has been confirmed through our ongoing interactions bumping into one another and in my anecdotal experiences over the past month. Wil's friendly attitude and willingness to answer all of our questions with a no pressure demeanor was a big part of our decision to make the commitment from a 'money saving' lease at a less desirable property. Since moving in, I have also worked with Catherine who helped me host a meeting in the business area (there's also a recreation room, computer room, and workout facilities - all in addition to the pool and grill areas). Fantastic staff! Overall 5/5 I want to just briefly mention that there is an appreciable and ongoing effort to establish a sense of community at this complex. From the discount for National baseball games, community cookouts, a sponsored pet adoption event (yeah, that seriously happened!), it's clear that the management is interested in a business model that puts tenant happiness first. From what I can tell, our neighbors are like my fianc and me who enjoy the friendly vibe. During our first weekend, we went down to the grill to cook dinner and ended up staying to eat and drink with another couple instead of returning to our apartment. For over a year my fianc and I have repeated the mantra 'we're saving money by living here' - now, thank goodness, 'here' is firmly in the past as 'there.' While Bailey's Crossing is more expensive than our previous apartment, the amenities, peace of mind, and our overall wellbeing that living here has afforded us is priceless. I strongly encourage you to stop by and tour the property. Sincerely, Nathan B. & Ashley S.

I unfortunately had to break my lease. The management staff was entirely to rude. They did not help with any of my concerns, and when addressing concerns the attitude level was unbelievable. Unfortunately I was forced to pay fees in order to leave, but it was WORTH it. This place felt as if I was stuck with a bad roommate in a college dorm. DON'T MOVE HERE! You pay way to much for the nice exterior and the crappy inside. Construction is awful. Noise is awful. Management is awful. I can honestly say the only thing I liked about this place was my in home washer and dryer unit. It's not worth the money you are spending.
