We just moved in so we cannot rate everything but the leasing process went smoothly. Vijil, our leasing agent, was efficient and got all the details correct for the lease and our move-in. We have only been here for a week but so far so good. It seems quiet and the groundskeepers do a great job of keeping the place looking great. The area has a number of restaurants/grocery stores within walking distance.

Moved into a one bedroom apartment last year with my girlfriend, am honestly very pleased with it. was renovated right before we moved in and so it had new appliances, granite counters, and carpet. Its right next to two major shopping centers and easy access to metro and the freeway. the only downside is there is no crosswalk to go across Hayfield road, and traffic speeds quite often which makes crossing on foot more dangerous than I would like. all in all 4.9 out of 5 stars.

I moved into this community about a year and a half ago, and have not had any issues. It is a well kept community. Great location, close to a lot of different shopping and recreation locations. Good value for your money.

We have lived at the Elms for almost 12 years in 2 different units on the Spring Faire Ct side. Overall our time here has been excellent. The grounds are clean, the maintenance service is fast, and the management company is responsive. It's mostly a quiet community with some families, a few older long time residents, and some younger couples just starting out. The location is convenient and pretty quiet.

Very clean & safe place to live. Convenient for shopping , socialising & public transportation. Parking always available. Trash area always clean , snow clean up always done in a timely manner. Staff very nice & friendly. Have had visitors who always have a positive feedback back.

Community is nice and clean. Very safe and pet friendly. Grounds are kept well and we'll lit at night. Besides a few things such as noisy neighbors which isn't really within management control, everything is pretty good.

Rent is way too high and the quality of the apartment is not good. Even after "renovations" it still looks terrible. Every time there is a problem, the maintanence team says they'll take care of it but never do or if they do they take weeks to get around to your issue. I was without hot water for a week and it was a problem with the kitchen sink!! If you live in the back faceing the woods you will be woken up every morning at 7am from a tree blower. Absolutely TERRIBLE considering I work late hours and sleep until 10 or 11. Also, there was an incident where a tenant (I think he was a tenant in the affordable housing area of the community) tried to rape me by the pool. The lifeguard was in the bathroom and the male exposed his private parts to me. I informed the community staff and called the police to report him. The community staff did not do ONE thing. Clearly they don't care about their tenants.

Let's face it, apartments are all pretty much the same once you've figured out what you need and want in a space. The front office staff - and the fact that this community has been company-owned and managed since it opened - was the selling point for me. From application to now, everyone has been very friendly.

I love living here at The Elms at Kingstowne. The property in general is kept clean and in very good repair. There's definitely enough parking, easy access to local shops and entertainment, and a great sense of community. This will be my second year at The Elms, and probably not my last.

I wasn't intending to take an apartment at Elms at Kingstowne. I only stopped on a whim because of the landscaping and easy-to-reach location. But once inside the office, I was struck by the friendliness of the staff and, after viewing a couple different apartments, I decided on-the-spot to lease one. Now, going into my second month here at Elms at Kingstowne, I'm convinced I made the right decision. Ms. Vijil, my leasing agent, was professional and knowledgeable, and my neighbors have all gone out of their way to introduce themselves and make me feel at home.

I've lived in Northern Virginia before and knew I had to do research to get the most for my tight budget. When looking online the Elms was not my top choice because they did not have covered parking or a garage. However after meeting the staff they won me over. I never felt like they looked at me as a dollar sign filling a place for them. Vijil was super helpful and even when my sister in law grilled her with invasive questioning she remained happy and professional. I was moving by myself and also went on a long vacation so I hadn't seen her in awhile. She remembered my name and that I owed her paperwork (oops). Joseph has had to do a couple of repairs on my apartment and has been very professional. If I wasn't moving for my job I would continue to stay here. I really loved living here.

Beginning very not very good. No hot water for shower on my first day on a new job. Mouse found in unit. Electrical issues. The noise is absolutely a turn off because there is insufficient padding between walls and ceiling so I hear EVERYTHING. I pray for considerate neighbors but neighbors cannot be responsible for poor insulation especially with creaking floors. I do not understand how to rate the "noise level" in the section below so please take this into consideration. I gave it no star because noise is SUCH A PROBLEM.

MY husband andI have lived here since April 2016 and overall are very satisfied with this community. The only complaint i have is that we just got the paperwork to renew our lease and apparently there is a $125 fee to renew the lease... I just don't understand if they want you to renew the lease and continue to live here why charge that large of a "resigning" fee??

Great comunity to leave in. Quick response by the staff on any issues from normal cosmetic stuff to big items such as plumbing or electrical. Apartment are always up kept and provide a warm welcome feeling.

My husband and I moved to the Alexandria in April of 2016. We looked at many apartments. We choose the Elms and Kingstowne. The staff are very friendly and work well for the residents. I feel very safe here. The location is great. Anything you would need is close. Lots of things to do all around. If I were to leave area I would come back here to rent again!

We've been in this community for 10 years and love the amenities, and courteousness and promptness of the staff and maintenance workers. Rates go up every year, though. It is close to multiple shops and restaurants, and transportation. Would recommend.
