I have lived in a variety of apartment complexes and the Elms at Kingstowne is by far one of the better places I have lived. I have to say you get what you pay for. Although it is a bit expensive, I have never had a pest problem, maintenance issues are handled the same day and the staff is kind helpful and go above and beyond for residents. I have enjoyed living at The Elms at Kingstowne for the past two years.

It's consistently good; I appreciate all the communications that are sent out; the property looks nice; reliable, responsive, friendly staff; the new signage looks very good and should appeal to new people

We have lived at Elms at Kingstowne for 6 months. The staff is wonderful as soon as we put in a work order they are at our apartment to fix the problem the same day. The ladies in the management office are super nice and always helpful when we have a question. We live in the newel renovated apartments and all the upgrades are great. We love the neighborhood it's quite, clean, and all the neighbors are super friendly. Great place to live!!1

This is a wonderful apartment community located in a great area of Norther Virginia. The location is very convenient for shopping and metro access is only a short bus ride away. The staff is very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. #WhyiloveTheElmsatKingstowne

#whyilovetheelmsatkingstowne My husband and I have lived here for four years and definitely made a home in our little community. The staff all know us, and our dog, by name. Maintenance is fast and efficient. Plenty of parking, convenient dog relief stations with bags, and I love the layout of our apartment. Guests are always so surprised when they walk in and see our high ceilings, fireplace and openish floor plan. If I had any constructive criticism it would be I wish we had more community trash cans. There's the compactor and one by the carwash, which is sufficient I suppose, but not convenient. We love it. You'll love it.

After being at the Elms for around a year, it's really the turning point of whether or not a place would work out. My fiancee and I love the apartment, and the neighborhood is fantastic! Close to everything we need, and it's awesome having some quiet in the city! Property is always well maintained, and staff is super friendly.

I really love living here. It is extremely quiet, nicely taken care of, and I have a great view. The maintenance staff is great and super helpful. They have always been quick to respond on the rare times we need something taken care of. I especially love the renovations that have been done. The new windows they put in all the units are great, and will really help out come winter time.

Been here two years since moving from Lorton, ample parking is what really makes living here different from alot of other cities. Most neighbors are quite respectful. Groundskeeper does an amazing job picking up after other people's messes which must be frustrating. All in all its a good place to live. #WhyiloveTheElmsatKingstowne

We have just moved into the apartment and have been living here a few days. The staff has been very friendly and no issues so far. Our unit was newly renovated and everything is great! The location is also perfect as there are so many grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping centers within five miles.

We moved to the Kingstowne area for work and selected the Elms because of the price, overall appearance of the community, and especially the reviews and ratings compared to the nearby complexes. We stayed for two years and would not have left if not for a change in job location. We could see why the Elms at Kingstowne received such high ratings, and would absolutely recommend them. For the area, the price of our two-bedroom apartment was about average or maybe a little better. The interior was spacious with plenty of windows. We especially liked the large sliding glass door in our living room, which let in a lot of light from the porch. Being on the top floor, bugs were never a problem, and we could rarely hear even a peep from our neighbors. The appliances, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer, were recent and functional, despite not being the newest renovation. The community itself is nice. It is quiet during the day and in the evenings, as there is no through traffic. There are large outdoor areas exposed to the sunlight, with a large grassy median and smaller grassy areas in front of and behind the buildings. There are plenty of bushes and flowers, giving an inviting feeling. The community is definitely pet friendly, with doggie bag stations scattered around the community, though they're occasionally empty of bags for weeks. There is ample parking, and I can count on one hand the number of times I had to park more than 100 feet away from my building. The trash compactor at the center of the community can be noisy and smelly, and seems to be broken or overflowing on a weekly basis. The recycling is less central, and always seems to be overflowing as well. Kingstowne is definitely suburban, so we weren't within walking distance of much. Two strip malls were close enough to walk to, while the Kingstowne Towne Center was less than a mile-and-a-half away with more restaurants and shopping. For a bigger mall, Springfield Mall is a ten-minute drive. There were at least five grocery stores within 3 miles, including a brand new Wegman's. Buses stop in front of the complex, with service to the Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Metros not far away. The local grade schools are right down the road. The management team was professional and generally responsive. Maintenance was adequate, although some minor things we considered to be issues were not repaired, as they were deemed functional somehow. We never had any major maintenance issues. There were community events hosted by the office staff at least monthly, and they seemed well-attended and appreciated throughout the community. We did have a few small issues with the community. Inside our apartment, the smoke detector was right above the stove, and went off every time we opened the oven at over 400 degrees. We could tell this was the case in other apartments too, as we could hear their smoke alarms go off for 30 seconds or so as well. This got obnoxious and frequently stressed the dog, as we used the oven all the time. Our biggest issue was construction. There were a few modernizing projects that were annoying, seemed unnecessary, or left the community in worse shape. The project to replace the siding on all of the buildings was noisy and went on for months, one building at a time, while scaffolding left ugly scars on the garden areas outside the buildings. The parking areas were repaved, but only a strip down the middle, and the paving equipment left ugly black streaks on the sidewalks. The HVAC replacement took a week and forced us to move our pantry to the bathroom, though I admit the system now seems more efficient and saved us money. Overall, I would certainly recommend the Elms. The small issues we found, and would probably be found just about anywhere, were far outweighed by the quality of the community.

HINT: USE CLAUSE 29 I live right next door and I concur - this management team is THE WORST. What's even worse is the crap-cheap labor they hire to do work around here - then they've spent 2 months out of the last 4 over in our area b/c this idiot posting reviews has these idiots in here fixing something every other day. WE HAT THIS NEIGHBOR, WE HATE THIS MANAGEMENT< WE HATE THIS PLACE. between this idiot and her obsession with a puddle and the idiot upstairs knocking on our door at 2 am drunk. Lady, you DO NOT LIVE HERE FOREVER - just GET OVER IT - THIS PLACE SUCKS AND YOU MADE A BAD DECISION - LEAVE ALREADY break your lease, leave STOP MAKING THEM FIX THIS CRAP AND MAKING ME DEAL WITH THIS!!!! We've already broken our lease - why don't you?? HINT: USE CLAUSE 29 THIS WAS IN RESPONSE TO IN RESPONSE TO: I have had numerous issues with the management of this property. Only when I complain profusely do they respond. I am not referring to routine maintenance but major issues such as mice, bad wiring, no hot water, and miscommunication. To date there is a lake to wade through and get your feet wet to get into and out of the apartment every time it rains. After many suggestions and supposed "fixes" the problem remains. It will most likely require resurfacing the pavement to make it even. The quick fixes just don't work. These apartments are old and they have had a "facelift" so you are now aware of what you will deal with. Oh did I mention to coil stoves? Aren't they just so antique??? Cheap is the word. If you are a mediocre person who thinks they don't deserve the best, then you will be at home here. Only reason I'm still here is because I am finding similar issues with so many apartments in this area

The Elms is a great place to live. First off the amenities are top notch and I haven't found any comparable in the area. Second, the apartments themselves were very clean when I moved in and was very satisfied with the ease of the move. Lastly, the management staff here at the Elms is always so nice, I couldn't ask for anything else from a community.

Pretty good overall...thin walls, so you will hear your neighbors. I've had neighbors next door argue and I could hear what was going on. Other than the noise and occasional grass clippings on my car from the landscapers, no complaints.

I recently signed a renewal lease at The Elms at Kingstown and want to share my experience. A year later I remain extremely satisfied with the timely and courteous service I receive when submitting a service order (response in less than 24 hrs. on most occasions) and the level of professionalism of the team on this property. All orders resolved, cleanup of any debris, note explaining the work done and recommendations for reducing the opportunity for reoccurrence. I actually feel like they are an extended family. This apartment is in a beautiful community which is very convenient to everything you need. I was really surprised and pleased by the number of improvements/renovations in this short period of time...all done with residents in mind. A lot of care went into advising of their plans and every convenience to minimize amount of interference with daily living. Needless to say it has enhanced an already beautiful property. There are numerous amenities (on site car wash area, trash and recycle bin, pool, on site exercise room, package pick-up, tennis court and planned events...just to name a few. I am very appreciative of having a place I can call "home" where I feel safe and welcomed.

Wonderful! I was very happy with the staff and the treatment from the time I first came in to inquire about the property. The activities and all the complex has to offer. The best thing about the complex is the fact you all offer handicapped parking!

It was quiet. The staff were awesome. The maintenance crew fixed anything with the apartment in a timely manner. They were all professional when dealing with me. The grounds around were well maintained. The pool was kept clean. The racquetball court was a plus.
