When we first moved in the community was well taken care of and staff was responsive. Within the last couple years (well before the pandemic) there was a drastic change in the quality of upkeep (especially the grounds) and access to staff became very difficult. I am a long term resident who takes good care of our unit and cares about the appearance of the community. It is ironic that I live in the most unattractive town home in the community. We have no bushes in front, dead grass, a board with rusted nails sticking out of the side of our outdoor stairs, paint pealing badly from our railings & balcony floor and one side of the front step rail has come unattached from the house. All of this was shared during an unscheduled inspection well before the pandemic.

Fairfax Square responds promptly to maintenance requests and their staff are courteous. However, sometimes they do not respond promptly to less urgent requests. We have also had some problems with insects.

So at the beginning when I found these apartments rent price $1500 was reasonable for 2 bedroom apartment and thats what caught our attention and took the decision of living here. However after the year passed they increased it to 1900 not including billls!!!! I was paying almost 2,000 for 2 bedroom and 1 bath apartment. And they are not that big in size. Whenever I had a problem I would call the office and the respond was always negative, saying "no" we can't help you or "no is impossible". Even in these hard times of COVID they did NOTHING for residents that were affected by unemployment. They care about themselves first, care about the money and NOT THE CUSTOMERS. They don't care if u facing sickeness, Unemployed or difficult time they never do anything if u ask for help. It was always pointless to call. Also for visitor parking is horrible if you want your friends or family over a lot don't rent here. They have horrible visitor parking policies and I could never have anybody over because of a pass and would get towed. Just stay away, nice area but not worth it for the price.

I had a wonderful experience while searching for the apartment at Fairfax Square. The staff were very supportive. This is a wonderful garden apartment community. It is a walking distance to the Mall including Shoppers, eateries, Seven Eleven, Dunkin Donuts, Hair Cuttery, Shell Gas Station and many more. Here you feel welcome!

I like the apartment which is spacious and quiet neighbourhood. Some restaurants and shopping malls are just 5_10 minutes walking distance from our apartment. But rental fees is a bit expensive for us.

Fairfax square is a well maintained community with high standards. The apartments are high quality and the clubhouse is beautiful. Some of their standards can be tough to keep up with such as not having bikes on the balcony.

The community is in a nice neighborhood, and the office management staff provides excellent services. However, I'm not impressed with the skill level of the maintenance staff, nor am I impressed by the upkeep off the residence. I'm constantly reporting roaches in my residence.

I will not be signing on to my lease again the house is not to code and is a safety hazard and I do not want to be here with the floor collapses in the kitchen or when the mold in the house gets worse. My washer broke twice and they had to put the wifi router outside which is stupid so very frustrated with a lot of things here. The only plus is the front office staff they try their best to help us an any way they can and are so friendly.

With everything that is going on I would like to thank management with the rent help issue. I stopped in the office beginning of March to talk about how the virus will affect me and my roommates financially. I spoke with Amy the front desk person and Asia and they both gave me some information on what we could do as far as paying rent and being short on cash. They told me they would speak with the managers Halley and Daise about it. I was really concerned about how we were going to pay rent with all our other bills. I followed up a little bit later and Amy told m her manager Melody was given the ok by the other managers for my roommates and I to pay as much as we can and the late fees wont be charged. This helped so much with our financial hardship right now. I just want to thank management for helping out myself, my roommates and other residents right now with everything going on.

This community is beautiful! The cherry blossoms were so amazing from the view of the balcony. Melanie was super sweet and malakye was extremely helpful in finding the right price for me. I love this apartment!

This is one of the worst places to live in Fairfax. Not only the price is too high for the aged crumbling and tiny apartment, the neighbors smoked weed every single day. The management was promising to do something for 1 year every single week and never did anything, literally nothing. Complete ignorance from the management makes it even worse. When it was finally almost time for us to move out, the assistant manager of Fairfax Square - Hallie Aden, when we came to the office to clarify the move out procedures explained that the carpets will be replaced anyway and we don't have to worry. However, we still cleaned them for the whole day after the move out and still got charged $400 for random and completely unreasonable things such as carpet stains. Also, be ready to pay closer to $360/month for electricity for a 3 bedroom 1000 sq ft apartment in the summer and winter as the AC system is extremely old and can't keep up with the hot and cold weather. With the COVID-19 and the tough situation which we're all in right now, there was no solution or attempt to assist us with the unreasonable charges which were promised by Hallie Aden not to be there. The worst place to live, starting with the aged buildings to the ignorant management.

As graduate students, my roommates and I needed to be close to school, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Fairfax Square is a fantastic and safe living space. Great amenities (including the pool and pool house) and dog park. We love living here and couldn't recommend it more!

For the past almost year it's been a great community to live that great employees at the front office are there to assist you pretty much every day. The pool is very nice in the fitness room is to. I would say it would be nice if they would do a little bit more cleaning in the front entrance ways of our building and sometimes we have had neighbors that are very loud and I wish they were enforce the rule of being really loud at night time. This being an old building and all the walls are not as thick as you would think so you can hear your upstairs neighbors and or your neighbors to the side of you.All and all for the price of this place it is not a bad location to live

The dog park is always dirty and property and cleaning staff dont come by to maintain the yard. The maintenance tickets dont get completed right away. I've been waiting 2 weeks to get some of my work orders done. I submit everything at once rather than a number of tickets. The walls are thin so if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend, your neighbors will here you. Some of the neighbors dont leave you alone. Staff is mediocre and dont really care about you.

Good location, but think apartments need to be updated. Also, I have an issue with the apartments not being smoke free. People smoke in the building in their apartments, and the smell comes into other people's apartments, including my own. You can continuously smell smoke.

Safe and well maintained community. Maintenance requests are handled on time. Only knock is they bump up the rent $100 bucks a year which is about 8% (for our apartment) although the economy grows at about 2-2.5%. They are unwilling to budge and attribute it to the economy which in the DMV is semi-understandable. We have rented for over 2 years now with no late payments or complaints, one might think that would be taken into account. They bank on you not wanting to deal with the moving expenses to justify such a steep increase. When I did ask for a reduction after seeing my new lease options, my phone calls/emails were ignored by the leasing manager. I saw this coming as when I asked why the increase was so high, they said "I don't have control over that, but I'll see if I can reach out to my superiors to help you." Wound up getting too close to the resign time after multiple attempts to contact the them, and we re-signed. Long story long, great place to live for a year or two, but be wary of the steep price hikes with no one in your corner.

Everything is great, cleanliness, spaciness, great staff. Only issue is the noise level coming from the ceiling level, I can hear every step very loudly along with the floor squeeking. The adjacent units I can't hear through the walls so that's a plus.

Although the apartments are fairly old, our unit was well maintained, clean, with everything in working order. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and made the move in a breeze. The area is also very safe, neighbors are quite and friendly, and dogs are kept on a leash. The pet-friendly environment was a big plus for us and the small fenced in dog park was one of the reasons we chose Fairfax Square. The gym is also in great condition and has everythign you need.

The staff took such good care of us as applicants. The level of superior care that we received guaranteed we would be very well taken care of as residents in the community. This has been proven to be true. We love it here.

Compared to other communities in which my friends are living in, it is much below. Google map doesn't recognize the house number. Very slow response when raising maintenance request. The falling leafs are everywhere and no one has shown up to clean the areas in front of the houses.

Overall, the community is good clean and friendly. The room is relatively old, but they are taking good care of the facilities. The staff is helpful and friendly. However, there are some downsides. I still don't understand why they send the paper letter to your unit not email to residents.
