Great amenities in the community. Staff are responsive for the most part. However, there is little follow-through on complaints about tenants who do not follow the lease terms (e.g. cigarette butts pile up on stoop, the office sends "letters" to everyone in the building, then do not do anything to stop the actual tenant responsible for the mess).

Very nice neighborhood to live in. Close to shopping center, great schools, good transportation connections. Whenever there's a problem in the house, maintenance crew is responding quickly and they do their job very well.

Excellent. I am very happy with the upkeep of the property overall. The staff and maintenance are very professional, they are responsive if you need anything, they take care of it right away. The maintenance folks respond promptly and do excellent job. Overall it is very well managed.

For the most part experience has been good. My apartment has not been up dated because I'm still living here,but most have been. Maintenance crew are the best,they come pretty quick. Office people are helpful too.

The apartments are spacious, but parking is very difficult. With each apartment only getting one designated parking spot, while we have four residents with cars, fighting to find parking in the unmarked available spaces is awful. I never know if I'll be able to park near my apartment, or if I'll have to park in the mall next door and walk ten minutes back to my home. Other than the terrible parking situation, the staff are very friendly, amenities are nice, and the apartments are nice.

We are living at this apartment around three years.Everything is not perfect but is ok.We suffer about the barking of the dogs in our building.The biulding is very old and rate is high and this is not good.I renewed my contract only about my son, because I didn't want to change his school.

This apartment community is average. Parking is a challenge and the rent is higher than it should be for the amenities that you receive in home. The walls can be apartment thin like anyway else but generally speaking the type of people that rent here are kind and considerate to one another.

We love this community and the amenities it offers. Our apartment is spacious for a one BR and all of our needs are met here. Maintenance requests are completed in a reasonable amount of time, sometimes even the same day. Everyone in the office is super kind and helpful with any questions and concerns we may have

Good environment of the community and warm and kind of staff and management people.kitchen appliance a little bit older. The maintenance team is good and can solve the problem timely and properly. This is the cheapest apartment complex that I could possibly find within the City of Fairfax! Great deals on apartments and offer wide variety. I very much enjoyed my time here at Fairfax Square Apartments.

I have really loved living in this community. The community is great, the leasing office is very helpful, and the amenities are wonderful. However a lot of the appliances seem to break and the issues with the apartment that we were told would be fixed before we moved in have not been fixed.

Good and have a lot of convenience, and the transportation is good and the services are easy to know and use. The environment is safety and quite, but the apartment sound insulation is not good, I can hear the sound clearly not only from outside but also from neighbors.

Great. Low price, fitness center, pool and nice staffs. Close to bus station. Maintenance requested are responsed very quickly. The apartment supports online rent payment (as well as online credit card payment and smartphone app payment), which is very convenient if you are on travel during each payment due date. The only issue is that I live in the first floor and there are a lot of mosquitos and bugs in room due to the lawn.

I'm happy with the location, maintenance, and amenities. The price and supplemental fees (i.e. pet fees) are appropriate for the location. My neighbors are mostly quiet and friendly. I recommend it as a good spot for people who are looking.

I've been here about 2 months and haven't had issues. Someone hit my car and left paint though and since no one say it I could not do much about it. And parking is terrible if you come back late at night expect to walk some ways.

So far so good and no complaints. Management team is pleasant and have quick response times. The residents in the community seem to be friendly and look out for their neighbors. As a new resident I feel safe.

Fairfax Square is a beautiful quiet community. We preferred this apartment over the many others we visited and read reviews about. The staff are amazing - maintenance is the best I have every encountered.

Fairfax Square is a great community and a great place to live, and I would recommend to family and friends. I have lived at the property for several years and enjoy many of the amenities: pool, exercise facilities, etc. But the best thing I've experienced is meeting two special neighbors, who have become very dear friends!

Worst management staff of my adult life. Status updates to work orders never provided proactively, always have to stalk the office for updates to ongoing issues. Each time I didn't get an answer or got the wrong answer, the excuse was "you didn't ask the right person." Excuse me? Moved in to this apartment only because I had taken a job with the parent company, under terms provided in writing that never were fulfilled 14 months later. Property Manager lied to me about the end of my employment terms lease language. Van Metre says they care but my experience as an employee and resident were completely opposite of that. I don't believe -------------- has any idea how ------------ actually treats people and how it trickles down to every individual and how they treat residents. Or, if he does? It's the opposite of what's said at the company meetings. My move out process has been a complete mess, further detailing the lack of organization of the management office, to me. Two different individuals asking me the same things days in a row....? Taking 4 days to fix my oven, without any communication or status update as to when I'd be able to cook in my home again, is the least of the terrible treatment I received at the hand of Van Metre Companies. Such a disappointing experience all the way around; regret moving here from California to take that job, and I can't wait for the relationship to be completely severed after I move out at the end of this month. I believed ---------. Everything you said at every single meeting. None of my experiences are congruent with the kind of company you hope you're leading. For example, --------- shamed me in June 2016 for participating in wellness activities not sponsored by Van Metre and tried to dictate how I spend my non-work wellness time or the one lunch hour I took per week. Nightmare all the way around. Glad to be done. It's such a shame what I experienced and didn't deserve, but great lessons learned!

Great and affordable Apartments. Great location, community, and management. Wonderful clubhouse with a huge swimming pool. All issues that occurred in my two years tenancy were fixed promptly. Highly recommended, please keep up the great job.

I recently moved out of a townhouse at Fairfax Square to move into a more affordable area. The office staff is very nice, but seem disorganized. I was added to the lease after one of the leaseholders move out of town and his name was still on documents being sent to us from the office a year after he had moved out. That caused some issues when I wanted to add my name to the lease. They said that it was because of an employee who is no longer working there. Now that I have moved out, I assumed my name was taken off the lease after we turned in paperwork to do so. However, I had recently received an e-mail from the office about expired renters insurance. They said they would fix it, but I will want to check back in a few weeks to make sure.

I am a visiting scholar to GMU. It is not easy to find a off-campus apartment when you are in another country. Fairfax Square provides apartment application online which is very convenient for international residents. Everything can be done with Internet. It is great!
