Barrington will be even better with Van Metre!
This place is great, especially since Van Metre has taken it over. I've seen constant changes daily to the place and I feel like the new management will make it even better than it was before. I've looked at the reviews of their other properties and it shows their residents are extremely satisfied. They are northern virginia based, not some other state, so I'm sure they really care about their communities. I can't wait for Barrington to get even better!

Been here for a year and really enjoy it!
I have a 2 bedroom 2 and 1 half bath townhouse with a garage. I never have to fight for parking which is awesome because I work late hours. When I have guests visit there's always a place for them. The kitchen is great, I love cooking with gas and there's loads of cabinets. I love my fireplace and hardwood floors. The washer and dryer are regular sized not the little ones and they are on the same level as the bedrooms which is really convenient. Yes some of the landscaping shows that it is def a work in progress as the previous poster said. However I've never seen anyone "hanging around" at the basketball courts and I'm never uncomfortable when I get home late or am walking the dog.

Not "Luxury" as advertised
They advertise as "luxury", which the complex is not. Originally, the units were meant to be for sale. However, no one was biting and they were forced to rent out the units. It's so bad they have stopped development on Phase IV. It's an eye soar with a big mound of dirt in front of the property and unfinished units. The complex is cheaply built and quickly developed. If you look carefully at the doorways, you could see obvious gaps where air leaks through, the poor craftsmanship in the walls and cabinets. Though everything is new, the carpet is thin. The show curtain bar is cheap. The tub is plastic and not metallic. The paint is cheap. Limited storage space. Water boiler next to the bedroom that could often be noisy. They consider that "luxury"? Another nuisance is the racetrack. You could here cars revving all evening. There are non-residents that play basketball at the resident only court. The mail is always mishandled. Maintenance is slow to respond. Even though there is a designated area for dogs, some dog owners do not clean after their pets. I moved to a different city because of work, but wouldn't recommend the complex to a friend unless they lowered their rates.
