For the most part it is a nice apartment community. However, this year has been a bit of a challenge. Two of the pools were closed during the hottest part of the year for maintenance. The staff kept making excuses for the delay in completion of .

Pretty good. But pretty noise upstairs, if the community can help me solve that. They always working like moving stuffs in the midnight and my ceiling pass the sound. And they play music with loudspeaker on their floor. For me it like an earthquake, it really a disaster to me and really made me hard to get sleep. Please talk to my upstairs.

Been here a decade or so. Feel middle of the road about the place. Lot of turn over from ASU students. Location does put you close to everything you could need. Groceries, drugstores and other basics are all close. Light-rail is up the street and the tempe shuttles run right by.

The front office staff, maintenance, and location make Desert Palm Village pretty great. The buildings are old so there were a lot of maintenance needs, but they take care of them quickly. The units are large, great for having a room mate and walk / bike-able to campus, restaurants, and grocery stores. Over-all the area feels pretty safe, but it is near downtown tempe so be careful and keep your bike in your apartment.

Sheri in the office is not friendly, all the others are great. Roaches are a problem as well as the endless cats that roam and spray on everything. Dog poop is overwhelming. Friday and Saturday nights are a bit load for partying until late into the am.

In general, the apartment is good. It is near school and market. The house id big, which is perfect for a family. One of the three bedrooms ia rather big for one person. Maybe it will be more convenient if there is a knid of apartment convenient for three.

I love these apartments just dislike my upstairs neighbors. Eveyone else keeps the noise down. I would stay here forever but rent is pricey. But love the fact they take section 8 houseing so when i had section 8 here they were very polite also.

I loved it, until I moved in. First the room smelled like smoke and weed, and maintenance staff, when questioned, told us that it hadn't smelled like that before we moved in. Really? Because we moved in 5 minutes ago. Then one of our walls broke, because it had rained and the roof was unrepaired, so water dripped into the walls and leaning against it made it fold like paper. Then the AC broke, and started dripping and didn't work. Turns out there was no Freon left, as it hadn't been changed in months. Then plumbing failed in several apartments, and there was human crap on the lawn outside. Took em two days to clean that up. Today marks the end of our second week staying here! They still haven't fixed that roof. So in summary, we've had a real issue with preventative maintenance here. As far as I can tell, they just didn't care enough to fix up our room, and were hoping we wouldn't say anything. Once you walk into the office and talk to them and very clearly describe the problem, the staff is actually fairly quick at getting things fixed. Maintenance staff didn't put down towels when letting the AC drain, so it soaked our floor, but it's laminated, so whatever. That said, the office staff is, on the whole, friendly and helpful. If you move here, your neighbors will be a few ASU students (because it's so close to the university), but it's not necessarily dominating the community. Everyone so far has been friendly, and we've had no noise issues at all. The amenities are fairly nice. I'd love living here, if it weren't for the constant maintenance issues. The location is good: close to major roads while still being fairly separated from them. It seems safe at most hours. Parking is good and available, including shaded parking if you sign up for it with the office. Our neighbors and friends have had none of these issues, so it seems to be a relatively uncommon series of constant issues. You gotta ask yourself: Am I feeling lucky? With my experience, especially with the smoking issue, I'm not sure I can recommend it. (Also, if you plan on staying for a long period, but you only lease for single years at a time, they force you to move upon renewing the lease! It's small, but it's a factor.)

The move-in experience was quite painless. Experienced staff took care of us and our questions. Very welcoming experience overall. I am very satisfied with the apartment I was assigned. I would strongly recommend these apartments to people I know.

Spacious apartments. Management staff is nice. Very good experience so far. A bit noisy (at times neighbors make a lot of noise, especially @ midnight). Grocery store is nearby. Lawn mowers could mow the lawn after 8 instead of starting @ 6 in the morning.

My friend recommended me moving into this apartment. I think it is really good apartment. If someone wants to come Tempe and lives around, I will recommend him/her to choose DP. And I hope I will have a nice time when I study in ASU and live in this wonderful apartment. Thank you!

I have recommended this apartment to many friends but a recent incident with me has put me on back seat. I wish management could have handle the clear communication with third party vendor in a better way and know the residents' pain points. I didn't expect such a behavior from the management.

It has a good experience. The front office personnel as well as the maintenance personnel are all serviceable and do a great job. Requests for maintenance are answers and solved in within a 24 hours window and the job is well done. I would recommend this place to anyone. Especially the south side, not only because I live there, but also, because the train runs next to the north side, and it would take a week or so, for someone to get use to it.

Great apartment complex. The apartments are spacious and decently maintained, and have lots of storage. The front office is helpful and friendly. The complex grounds are maintained and clean, and maintenance is completed quickly. I would recommend this complex.

The staff and maintenance crew are Awesome. They always seem to be making new improvements to the Facility. It is a very quiet complex. The Dog park that was put in is really nice, and everyone that lives here are always polite and you never really hear loud music or loud people.

The staff is extremely cordial. Courtney was there to help me throughout my move-in process. Decent rent for a 1BHK. I don't have a pet but if you have one, they accommodate you. Easy access to ASU, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. They definitely have my recommendation.

I have enjoyed the six years I have resided at Desert Palm Village. Ive never had a prblem with the office staff they have always been polite and professional and maintenence responds quickly. The grounds are always maintianed; with the exception of a few irresponsible pet owners who dont pick up after their pets. This is truly a pet friendly great place to live.

The apartment and complex are in good condition. The staff has been very professional and helpful. We truly appreciate the policy to allow ALL breeds of dogs and feel this is a great community for us and our dog. We have so far enjoyed our stay here.

It is good. The equipment here are good, as well. The pool, basketball and the gym give us place to exercise. And the drinking water is provided. If the vending machine can accept the 5 cents or can give change, that will be batter. The laundry is OK.

I've lived here for almost a year. For the most part these apartments are fine. But if you like sleeping in it may not be possible. They start doing random grounds maintenance at 8 in the morning. Which is understandable because it's too hot to do it later I'm sure. But holy crap the walls are so thin I can hear all of it like they are working right outside my window even if they arent. Yesterday I couldn't sleep past 8 because they were weed wacking the grass for 3 hours. It was so loud even with all the windows closed I couldn't sleep. Today I couldn't sleep past 8 cuz they decided to replace just the screws on people's porches so all I could hear was this drill for 3 hours which shouldn't be loud enough to keep you up. But it is. I'm not a light sleeper either. And never mind replacing the old boards on the porches that are so cracked and us baked they look like theyre about to just fall apart. Nope they just painted them instead so they look less cracked. And then decided to replace just screws. Like that'll do a whole lot of good. It's almost like they have them doing busy work that doesn't even do any good except to wake you up at 8 and not let you go back to sleep. Yes this is pretty much my only complaint but seriously. I just wanna sleep in guys! This loud early outdoor maintenance is driving me nuts. Oh and the porches aren't covered. So if you want to go out on the porch in the summer forget about it. It's hot enough as it is but there's not even shade which would definitely be nice when it's already so hot in phoenix. We used to have a tree that shaded it. But then they took it down. Great. That tree was the one thing that made the porch usable.

Overall, I really like this apartment complex. I feel like I am getting a fairly large apartment compared to how much I pay in rent. The ladies in the office are very helpful and friendly. Maintenance requests are always responded to in a timely manner. I did have some issues with the power going out in summer a few times, but it was always fixed later that day. Communication about maintenance to the complex is not that great, though. I would get a sign on my door saying they are painting the building on X date, but that date is in the past, so I have no idea when they are actually painting. Or I would get a notice on my door that they are doing some maintenance that requires some action from me (such as clearing my balcony, or moving my car), that needs to be done that same day or the next day, which is not enough notice. And when they repaved the parking lot it was a disaster, because they did not keep to the schedule that they had posted, so I was never sure when my car needed to be moved, and there was a big problem with people parking in covered spots. Speaking of which, they never enforce the assigned parking, so there are always people parked in my spot, even when the parking lot isn't being repaved. This review has been kind of complainy, but these issues are not that frequent, and overall this is a great place to live. My only ongoing annoyance is dogs barking at all hours, but that's hardly the complex's fault.
