Don't be deceived by the three good reviews
They were written by the managment. The place needs to be condemned. Horrible odors. Roaches everwhere. Flooding all the time. Better move to Rangoon. It would be a far better experience. And why is my rating showing as a 3 when I gave it a 1?

I guess I am lucky
I read all the horrible posts on here and am glad I got one of the not so bad apartments here. We do have roaches, but are able to control them with stuff from Home Depot, and it leaves only a few here and there. When my ceiling leaked, I had a maintenance person here within minutes, and they did a spectacular job of cleaning up after themselves and were very nice. The people in the office seemed helpful the few times I've needed them. I am sure there are apartments here that are terrible, it is a very old building. I guess I got lucky with my unit.

Do NOT move here!!!
This place is clearly the worst apartment I have ever rented. Thank god I only signed a 6 month lease. I am clean and keep my place very clean but nothing I have done including extreme measures can keep the roaches away. They are everywhere. The ownership recently changed and I am suspicious it is due to the lawsuits that have been filed by other tenants against these slumlords. Ignore the spacious floorplans and save yourself the horror of living here. I am not exaggerating one bit.

Renaissance Nightmare
Don't move here!<br>I thought that moving to Woodland Hills, would mean quiet, peace, and upscale! However, I am very disappointed with the empty promises the management and staff made me about this place. I have lived here two months now, and have put in three calls to the police for noise and domestic battery from one of my neighbors. I have also called the building's supposed security patrol at all hours of night to help control the noise coming from my upstairs neighbors. Believe it or not, the person renting above me, is a celebrity who has recording equipment playing all night. I have complained time and time again, but nothing is done. This is just a few of my complaints I have posted for you lucky readers to assess before considering this hellish place.

horrible experience
I don't know where the people who run this place got their training but nothing ever gets done. I think the streets of Cacutta are cleaner than the halls in this place. My family and I have lived her for about six months. It only gets worse and worse. I have had cockroaches crawing on my baby!!!! We only moved here because it was a $99 deposit but we didnt know how bad it was. I recommend if you are reading this you stay away and find someplace else to raise your family.

The Absolute Worst Place You Can Imagine!
I have gotten several fliers about a lawsuit going on or about to go on against this place and I hope they win. This place is the worst place anyone can possibly imagine. You can't call this home. Only hell. Roaches are everywhere. In your food. In your bed. On the toilet. They come from other apartments and from the walls. Did you see that new movie that says "What can be worse than being trapped in a cave with giant bugs? Nothing!" That's this place! Come live here if you love roaches. Look, if times are tough and if you get hungry, you can always make roach stew.

Nice place
I have been at Renaissance for several years and I want to say that I have enjoyed my apartment since day one. The staff has always been very nice and helpful whenever I need anything. I have recommended several of my friends to live here and they are all enjoying their apartments as well. I want to thank the office staff for all of their hard work.

unsanitary
this complex is dirty with roaches and mold.<br>they do nothing to keep it clean except keep the grass soaked at all times. the laundry facilities are discustingly dirty with holes in the ceiling that are dripping dirty water and buckets to catch the water.

Roaches etc.
They lure you in with a $99 deposit. The apartments come freshly painted. The carpets are clean. But beware!!!! Beneath it all is a tenement with slum landlords. Cockroaches are all over the place. The hallways are smelly and flithy. I've lived here three years and it was better then, but now there are gang bangers that hang out in or near the parking lots. The management is nonexistent even though there is an office with "managers" in it. It seems their only job is to take rent. The only reason I'm still here is because they apartments are a little larger than other places and there is rent control, but I am very very tempted to take my losses and move. When you are minding your own business and cockroaches crawl on you, it's a bit much.

ROACHES FROM OUTER SPACE
Recently there has been a campaign to stop the roach invasion. Fliers have apparently been circulated door to door though we only found out through out neighbor. Apparently the management has been taking them away as soon as they are placed by the door.<br><br>I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviews. This place is a breeding ground for cockroaches. They are everywhere, no matter how much the management sprays or how much you spray. The place needs to be tented or condemned. Just set down your sandwich for five minutes and roaches are joining the feast! Ugh! It didn't used to be this way.<br><br>By the way, yesterday I caught and killed 32 roaches!

Going downhill
This place has been sold multiple times in the past few years and the end-result has been that is fallign apart. Holes in the walls of the hallways, smells, coachroaches, and a management team that changes at least once a year. It used to be nice, but now is clearly heading towards slumsville. On top of that, one of the streets of the complex, Nevada, is a target for car thieves as it is poorly lighted.<br><br>Stay away from this place.

I THOUGHT THAT ROACHES CAME ASSOCIATED WITH MJ NOT AJ
The management at this place is horrible. The apartment manager, AJ Lopez pays not attention to any problems and laughs at tennant complaints or hangs right up on them. "Not my problem," he says. It's like teenagers are running the place." "Thank you for calling Macbeth Apartments, professionally managed by Macbeth Apartments," the recording says and the recording is one big lie. Nobody will come afterhours or with security issues. The place is uninhabitable. You have a place to live, but you don't hame a home. You can't eat, because the roaches are right on your plate. The parking is filty. There are dog and cat feces everywhere. The hallways stink. No one cleans them, not even vacuuming. All the tennants complain, but they do nothing. The management says if you don't like it, clean it yourself. The laundry rooms are always filthy with no ventilation. I have existed here for three years and my name has yet to be placed on the mailboxes or the buzzers. Best of all, there have been a string of arsen fires here. Tell me, if this old place burns down, who benefits? Be sure and take out tons of insurance to protect yourself. I have just found out that there is asbestos in the ceilings. When I moved it, I saw a notice that some substances here may cause cancer. AJ told me that it was just the cleaning fluids the maintenance staff use and keep in their janitorial rooms.

Manager, A.J. Lopez, is the worst I have ever seen !!!
I have lived here for 9 years. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Because....here's what you'll find:<br><br>Lopez, the manager, should be a waiter at McDonald's - not a manger. He puts everyone down and has no compassion whatsoever. He will belittle you, say everything is YOUR fault, smiles and say, gee, sorry, I can't do anything about it.<br><br>Apartments are in terrible shape...i.e., carpeting coming up at the seams and away from the walls, but mgmt. will do nothing about it.<br><br>Maintenance is nonexistent because there are not enough of them. Hugo has to do the work of 3 men just to keep up and then can't even. And, FYI, he is the nicest person on the staff !!<br><br>The little under parking that there is is disgusting. There is dirt under your car an inch thick..they have not cleaned the parking areas in 4 years. And you know, a hose would do the trick! Lyon Management kept everything ---- and span. McBeth is the WORST management company I've ever seen.<br><br>The pool, which is SUPPOSED to be heated is never heated enough. When Lyon was managing, the pool temp was always put higher in the winter so we could swim. Now, you can only use it in the summer.<br><br>The elevators are FILTHY. They have not been cleaned (except for the occasional mopping on the FLOOR only) for years. The walls have snot and gum and smudges all over. The floor area in front of them is absolutely a mess. Not something you want your guests to have to pass when coming to visit.<br><br>Roaches. The ONLY reason why I don't have them is because I attack them the ecological way....spreading around a mixture of boric acid powder and flour (3 parts boric acid to 1 part flour). You'll not see a roach again. Everyone else, however, complains about them and rightly so. Management needs to spray NOT IN the apartments, but IN the walls!!!!<br><br>If manager A.J. doesn't like what you have to say, he will try to evict you.<br><br>There are prostitutes, call girls, drug dealers, and gang members living all throughout the apartment complex.<br><br>The trash rooms on each floor have the original shutes and shute doors. I can't describe the filth.<br><br>The owners of the building are trying to sell this place. But NO ONE WANTS TO BUY!! I wonder why? Present owners (some guys sitting in million dollar homes) don't want to waste their money on improvements here BECAUSE they are trying to sell. Also, because they are cheap. Don't move here!<br><br>

Not what its cracked up to be...
The tennis court blinds have been gone for a year, and the noise in that corridor when people are playing would wake the dead! Don't trust that pleasant smell when they show you your prospective apartment, The mold stench will surface in a few days.

NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY
I lived here for almost 3 years now and it has been awful. Management has changed 3 times since I have been here. The only reason I am still here is because the apt's are fairly large in size. Management won't fix anything. You can put in 3 work orders with AJ & nothing gets done. They are short staffed for such a large complex only having 3 maintance workers. I highly recommend not living here.

This is not an apartment, it is a roach motel!
Oh, My God! I have never seen so many roaches in my life. Kill one and another one pops up. It's like Night of the Living Dead only with bugs! It doesn't matter how many times you clean or how much you spray. These are the roaches that will survive nuclear blasts and they are all at the Renaissance! Somebody help!

broken keyholes, burned out lights, smelly hallways
It seems lke the locks for the hallway doors are always being broken. It took months once for management to fix a blinking light, and the smell in some of the hallways makes you nauseous.

THE "WONDERFUL" FOUNTAINS ARE INSIDE THE APARTMENTS
I have lived in this complex now for 10 months and it has been a nightmare. Water has poured down from the ceiling five times. The management tells me not to worry. It's not sewer water—just water from the toilets overflowing upstairs. I have had so many things precious to me ruined, but the management says I'm to blame for not having taken out flood insurance. How do you replace a program from the funeral of a friend who died years ago with insurance? Or her photographs? Or special books or keepsakes?<br><br>The water has now poured down in five rooms of my two-bedroom apartment. The last time was two days ago. The carpeting is still soaked from when it happened before that four days ago. The management does not offer towels or rags or fans. The air is musty when you enter the place. The ceiling the one of the bedrooms is now falling down in several places. Oh, the management told me they would replace the ceiling and the carpeting, but where do I put things while they are doing this and will I then live in a construction zone?<br><br>Cockroaches are a nightmare as well. There are so many, you would think I could get them to pay some of the rent. Think a dozen or so a day—brown ones with probing antennae or little black ones that scamper about.<br><br>The trash outside is always overflowing. There is a woman in an adjacent building who is deaf, who blasts her TV from four AM almost every day. The hot water takes forever to wind its way to the shower. The air conditioning is on the order of a swamp cooler with wet coolish air. The parking lot (I do not have a space because I am on the first floor) is plagued with oil slicks here and there. Parking on the street is a nightmare. There's no space as it is and then there is street cleaning twice a week, so that one side of the street must be evacuated and sometimes you need to park blocks away.<br><br>Oh, and they just installed low flush toilets, that may as well be called no flush toilets.<br><br>If you want to know what hell is like, be sure and move here. I can't wait to leave.

MOVE
I have lived in this complex for almost 3 years. I am on my 2nd management company. MAS is the WORST company. The first one seemed pretty good. However, this new staff lets ANYBODY into the complex. The place was nice and now is an embarassment. Lights are always burned out, gate locks do not work, and I have seen countless "gang bangers" in there. I have a pretty good deal on my rent, but I will definately be leaving the place within a few months.

ROACHES!!!!
I have lived here for about 6 months and am BLESSED to have only signed a 6 month lease. I will be moving out ASAP. The ROACHES are horrible. I spray daily and have the apt. management spray often as well YET I still kill AT LEAST (sometimes MUCH MUCH MORE) 7 cockroaches a day in my kitchen. NASTY! The size of the apt is great, but DEFINATELY NOT WORTH THE DIRTINESS. Mgmt is unresponsive as well.

Great Place to Live and Enjoy.
I have been staying here for last few months only, but i have realized that this is an amazing place.<br><br>Houses are well maintained and absolutely clean. No smell, no mosquitoes or roaches. <br><br>AC is the best i have seen in last couple of years. There is even no dearth of hot water.<br><br>Swimming pool is well cleaned and spacious. Jaccuzi is the best part as there is a bar-be-q adjacent to it.<br><br>Manager AJ, Hugo, Vickey and others have been of great help to us in all possible ways.<br><br>We are surely enjoying staying here. Not only us, but our other friends also.<br><br>This is surely the best apartment homes in this area. Specially its close proximity to Macy's, Sear's, Best Buy, Fry's, Walmart, AMC etc...

This place SUCKS
I moved in in June 04, I have had leaks every month and the management is non responsive. You can call the numbers, and maybe even talk to someone, but that does not mean they are going to do anything about your request. I have even been told countless times that I never called. The roaches are the worst. They are everywhere. <br>At christmas my place flooded bad and they let my furniture sit in the water three weeks beofre moving it to another unit (they put us in the model, the model with no tv, no cable no hot water...) I have had to go stay somewhere else for days at a time on three seperate occassions and not once did they even offer me a days rent to cover the expence or inconvienence. The comments are "the lease says you need renters insurance so we are not responsible" RENTERS BEWARE" they will take your money, but they will provide no service. Mulitple management changes, no parking, other than the pool and gym, this place sucks.

HELL ON EARTH
This is going to be a bumpy ride...... The grounds are well kept (to fool you into thinking you are moving somewhere nice).... DONT FALL FOR THE TRICK!!!<br>For the amount you pay in rent, you get screwed in the worst way. The parking is the worst I have ever seen! You are LUCKY if you get stuck half way across the parking area! The Laundry facilities are VERY inadequate for the number of residents! The manager seems like he just stepped into his very first job, minus the eagerness! They dont seem to care much for the residents they house. <br> Nobody checked to see if our "cooling unit" (NOT air conditioning)worked before we moved in the apartment. My family and I traveled 4 days across country to move to California. We soon find its the hottest month of the year (mid 90 degrees)..... and we have no way of cooling off our apartment ON TOP OF MOVING FURNITURE TO THE 3rd FLOOR.<br>Management says "sorry there is nothing we can do". You would think for almost $2,000.00 a month they could have someone fix or replace the "cooling unit". No, they "contract out" the repairs! If the contracting company cant make it....TOUGH! We sat in the 90 degree heat for 5 days. No offer to put us in a hotel, no discount, or anything! <br> I have lived all across the country and this is by far the worst I have ever lived in! Please do yourself and family a favor..... GO ELSWHERE!!!!<br>

I've relocated here from midwest. this apartment is small for the price. For the amount I pay here while lliving in chicago, the space was muchhhhhh larger. there are certainly a large amount of knats, and bugs in the buildings. Maintenance don't seems to care much about fixing things. You have to practically threaten a suit to get something done here. The parking sucks pretty much, so close together, can't help but hit someones elses car. MAINTENEANCE IA LAZY AS HELL. They have been countless management changes. If you like living with senior citizen's, then this is the place for you, other wise, there isn't a lot for younger kids to do. It's pretty safe right now, but who's to say what it will be like later on. Overall, this was a last resort for me, because of the price.
