Great location, walking distance to World Market, World of Beer, and several other restaurants. Right near the highway too so it's an easy commute wherever you're going! The management staff is super helpful and nice. It feels like they genuinely care about the well-being of The Lodge's tenants. Also this is the only complex I've ever known to have a dog park on grounds. Love it here.

My girlfriend and I have lived at The Lodge at Aspen Grove (recently rebranded as "The Lodge") since the end of 2015 and our entire time living here has been under the management of Greystar, so I cannot speak to how things were before they took over. Here is an honest review of our time so far in this complex... good as well as bad, please forgive the length. I agree with many reviews, that the renovation of the kitchen could have been done better. The issues that other reviewers speak to, that the microwave and fridge can't open 100% due to placement, are correct, however we've never found them to hinder our use of either appliance. They open about 90%, which is plenty to get all our food in and out as needed. What many reviewers fail to note is that these are older buildings being renovated. It's not cost efficient nor is it always possible (due to structural or code issues) to completely restructure the apartment layouts. With regards to the kitchen, frankly if it was laid out differently, some of the functionality would be lost, so the current layout is the most efficient use of the space. We did have a minor, one time issues with bugs when we moved in and management was quick to send pest control to our apartment. Honestly, we had no issues after the first time but the guy came out a few additional times as well, per management. We also keep our place pretty clean so there isn't anything to entice bugs to hang around. Our apartment is very comfortable overall and with my girlfriend's design skills, it is actually pretty spacious for the size being a smaller two bedroom based on square footage. The staff on site have been very friendly and helpful. Maintenance requests are usually resolved in less than a week, and on average in 1 or 2 days. The office will receive your packages, so you don't have to worry about them being stolen. They also seem to genuinely care about turning around the overall stigma of the complex. The laundry facility (one in each building) is generally very clean and the machines are repaired quickly when they break down. As well, the renovated gym is very nice and I like that it is open so early. It would be nicer if it was 24 hours, but my girlfriend and I work out around 5am and it is already open, so no big deal. The equipment is all pretty new and is in great condition. The renovated clubhouse is gorgeous, and if that is any indication of how nice the pool area will look when completed, then that will be a bonus as well. In the winter, management makes sure as well that snow is removed very quickly and it's definitely done quicker than at other places I've lived. During heavier snows, the plows only cover the main traffic areas of the complex, so you can have a small buildup of snow behind your car, which makes getting your car out a bit more troublesome. However, again, better than at previous complexes I've lived in. As well, the grounds are kept clean and the complex isn't overly loud for a large complex. We have enjoyed living here and have recommended it to others. We recently signed a second lease and are happy to remain living here. Over all we take things here with a grain of salt. It is an older complex (built in the 70's), and the management company is trying to improve it as best they can, but there is only so much you can get out of a place without tearing it down. Here's what's been the greatest indicator in the improvement of the complex, despite growing pains etc: when we first moved here, my car was the nicest in the parking lot, and it showed in some of the residents and their care for the place. My car is no longer the nicest in the parking lot, which speaks to the effort to bring in a better type of tenant, one who will respect the property a bit and help to raise the standard. It takes time to build a community, and I think that if people knew where they started from they'd be happy with where they are.

The Lodge at Aspen Grove is very basic. The buildings are very old. They are working to fix them up, but have no problem charging market prices until they do. Because my model was partially remodeled, I haven't experienced the pest issues that other people have. However, it is not something they seem concerned to stay on top of for overall maintenance. My recommendation would be to not fall for the models and the club house. They only do the minimum amount of work required to maintain.

I am very upset how my transfer process was handled. I was very cooperative and understanding through the whole process but it has now been one thing after another. I have had enough. I would not recommend living here.

Good location to Denver. Close to highway, about 15 minutes to downtown. Been here two weeks, noise levels from rest of the apartment have been mostly quiet so far. You could tell the inside of the apartment was torn out and everything was put in to make it look new(new carpet, paint, and caulk in bathrooms). Paint drops all over the hardwood floor and other small touch ups missed. Major problem has been with the staff and maintenance crew. Day one we noticed our shower handle was loose after testing it. Now the water won't shut off as it continuously drips. Notified management next day and they said a 72 hour work notice would be placed. Week later wasn't fixed and called the office. Two weeks later not fixed and gave a written notice it needed to be fixed or we would find another way to get it done with them paying for it. It's now been 17 days and the shower doesn't work. The management will tell you what you want to hear to get you to leave but then nothing will get fixed. It's nice having slightly cheaper rent then other buildings nearby, but not at the cost of only have one of two bathrooms working.

Don't move here. The management is careless, the maintenance team is incompetent, and there is a massive cockroach infestation. Literally any other apartment is a better choice than this awful, smelly dump.

The apartment complex serves my every need. The staff are the most impressive feature of the place, as they are very professional and are there for anything a tenant needs. The apartment layout is excellent.

The mamagement company seems to be interested in improving the community. Nice exercise facility and general landscaping. Biggest negative is the community-wide pest infestation. Pest control is provided, but as soon as someone else has their apartment sprayed, they come back.

Improve your inspections and consider a pest inspection prior to move in due to lots of very poor reviews on pests. Something to highly consider. You should never rush any move in process with the fridge and dish washer, why were they not plugged in?..

Living here has been a great experience. Excellent spacious apartment. Secured building. Great amenities such as swimming pool and barbeque area, fitness center, court yard and dog park. Close to buses and lightrail station. Close to Cherry Creek Mall and other stores and restaurants.

I am in the field of marketing and SEO brand recognition and am usually able to spin a negative into a positive. At this time, between the cockroaches and the bedbugs, nothing I can offer regarding my time at the Lodge could possibly be spun in a positive light.

The office rarely picks up the phone. Messages and emails are barely responded too. Maintaince is known to take up to a month to fix issues. The layouts are great but not worth in trouble of dealing with the staff. If you want anything done in a timely manner, don't hold your breath!!!

The people in the leasing office are worthless human beings - I've waited to get packages for hours while they tour other people around because all they wanna do is suck you in and once your in they don't pay you any attention and not one time ever answer the phone - not once while I lived there - scum of the earth. Rats outside everywhere and they refuse to do anything about it except leave poison out in the open for your dog to get into. Packages get stolen all the time. The lazy maintenance crew never fixed anything - the banister in the stairwell would be on the ground for weeks at a time. They never shoveled, plowed or even dumped salt one time all winter long. They were remodeling my place after I left and I had to pay $800 dollars because the 30 year old shag carpet that I had was "damaged" when they were going to replace it with a hardwood floor anyway. One of the pieces of trash that lived in the complex broke my sliding glass door with a brick and I also had to pay for that - another $400. $200 to resurface the tub which I left cleaner than how I got it. $100 for paint which was going to be redone anyway. I essentially paid for the remodel for them with "damages" when I spent 3 days with the place empty and left it much cleaner than how I got it and was denied my right to have a final walk though because they were "too busy". Every person that I talked to there hated it. You couldn't pay me to live at a like this place. After all the extra BS that they charged me it would've made more sense to buy a place even though the plan was just to stay for one year. Don't waste your time or money dealing with this place and those people. After I posted what is written above on Google, I got a call from Greystar corporate in Washington, a guy named Kevin Parker, after a meaningless conversation he threatened me and then hung up the phone. He was an idiot to say the least and said that the evidence and proof of the damage was "in the inspector's paperwork in black and white" I told him it is 2016 and to prove damages you need color photos (like Court furniture, and everybody else who rents stuff out does) and that was when he threatened me and told me I was "making bad decisions" and hung up. That is about as low as it gets.

When we first moved here the office staff was horrible and nasty but the community was quiet and good. Now the office staff are awesome but we are noticing more parties in the community. Strong smell of marijuana smoke in the hallways and people yelling in the parking lots. We just renewed our lease but if it had gone up in rent a great deal we were going to move. Now there was a lot more empty apartments so I think they didn't raise it to much. Shouldn't have raised it at all. Michael Underwood

I've lived here less than month but so far everything has been great. The neighbors are quiet, the management has been very communicative about some maintenance issues, and the apartment itself has been wonderful.

We toured this property a little of a year ago and was not impressed with the property as a whole, we have heard of a lot of amazing things about the new improvements and the staff and have also kept a close eye on the property and they have done such an amazing job with everything. Very pleased and satisfied. We Deffinatley recommend this property especially with the new and hard working team they have brought in!

High pressure sales tactics and flat out lies on their website about price. Listed: $920/mo. Actual: $1050. "Community utilities" and "daily fluctuations in the website price". Of course. And $3/mo for pest control. Keep in mind that $3! I've had three separate insect infestations in 6 months living there. They brought in a second rate exterminator, and for 6 weeks I diligently emptied my kitchen and bathroom every thursday to let them work. And the roaches never went away. I was given 24 hours notice to do this the second time they called exterminators in. Since I have to work two jobs to pay for this place, I had to find two hours in an 18-hour workday, or else I'd have been fined $120 for not cooperating with pest control. And I still have roaches. Oh, and the leasing office promised me they were hiring better exterminators (since by this point I was already trying as hard as I could to break my lease), but since the exterminators leave their business cards every week when they leave, I know for a fact that the leasing office just lied to keep me there. They had the nerve to offer me more expensive and smaller apartments in their other buildings to keep me around. "We only have 2 complaints in this other building!" Oh, and maggots. I awoke one morning to find maggots covering my kitchen and bathroom floor, spilling out of an empty kitchen cupboard. The leasing office sent maintenance, who scooped up a handful and said "good luck!". Needless to say, after taking a day off of work to deal with the maggots, I had flies in my apartment for weeks. No follow-up from the leasing office, and my request for another round of pest control went ignored. Appliances are awful. Dishwasher completely ineffective. Laundry machines have never worked reliably. When I complained, the leasing office told me to rally my building together to all call the manufacturer to come and service their broken washers and dryers. Completely unacceptable, lazy, slumlord behavior. The website is horrendous. Frequent login and payment problems. Your bill will come in two parts on different days. And if there's any problem or delay, your fault or not, you will have to go to the leasing office and hand them a cashier's check (personal checks aren't accepted! why should they trust you?) So after six months I wanted out. Breaking the lease cost two full months rent upfront, and they wont let you leave for another 60 days, during which you must also pay rent. $4000 to get out of their infested, cheap apartments.

We have lived here for three years, the complex is quite. Anytime we put in a maintenance request it was always done within 24 to 48 hours, and the nice thing is the office would always call to make sure the work was done, and to our satisfaction. We have enjoyed living here for the last three years. The replaced all windows recently and renovating the fitness center now. I would totally recommend this place.....

I did hours of apartment research online in preparation of moving from the East to Colorado. I had a hard time finding anything in my price range that had good reviews. When I came for a weekend to scout things out, I had a list of 5 communities that I hoped would be as good as they looked in the pictures. The first two I visited were awful, I did not even tour the properties. Then I went to The Lodge. There was an immediate difference in curb appeal so I decided to go in to the office. In short, I was very pleased with everything and signed a lease the next day. Since moving in, I have discovered many other reasons to be happy here. The location is awesome! The staff is very responsive and friendly. Maintenance issues have been resolved within 24 hours. The new fitness room should be completed soon.

The staff here is fantastic. The new windows and washer/dryers in the buildings as well as the remodeled units are major improvements implemented by the new management company. All the common areas still need a major overhaul. While the inside of your apartment might be updated, the outside is still a bit embarrassing. Some of the residents are overly rowdy but those "types" will probably be priced out eventually. Additionally, my car window was broken right out in the very brightly lit parking lot in the middle of the night but that's not necessarily the fault of the property managers and has more to do with the facts of life in Denver.

I have lived here for about 9 months now and like it a lot. The staff is friendly and the property was recently bought by a top management company. There are new washer and dryers in every building. New windows were installed recently in the unit and a new dog park. The price is reasonable for a one bedroom and location is everything with this apartment. Hallways are a little dingy but I don't spend a lot of time in the hallways. Never an issue with parking and hopefully the inside will get a full remodel in the next few years.

Worst experience in my entire life. A dump that's run by liars who have no sense of urgency, decency or community. Greystar acquired a dud with this complex. The moment we moved in there were numerous issues that were not addressed ever. The quality of maintenance work is so low. DO NOT LIVE HERE

They rip you off! They charge about 50 bucks a month for "common area electricity" even though there's a separate electric bill from Excel Energy, and we have to pay about 3 bucks a load for laundry. So.... what are we paying the common area electricity bill for- the outside lights, and that somehow costs every resident 50 bucks??? Also, we pay a monthly fee for fumigation of the apartment even though they NEVER do it, and the place is infested with cockroaches. So what are we paying for? The hallways and laundry room are a mess and reek of pot, and maintenance never fixes anything. It's NOT worth your money.

This fall was the third time I have renewed my lease here. I am a little surprised by all the negative reviews. I love the location, and a nice thing is that parking has never been an issue. I feel it's a safe neighborhood. That alone is a comfort. The newest Leasing office staff are the friendliest we have had in years. They seem to generally "care" about any concerns I have brought to them, and very willing to help. Most specifically the Leasing Manager. While We did have a problem with roaches, they addressed the problem and it has been taken care of. I feel the maintenance Dept. addresses issues as soon as they are notified and in a timely manner. I would recommend this Complex to others.

Some of the most incompetent office workers I have ever met, they take weeks to fix simple issues not because the maintenance men are slow but because the office staff can't even get the ball rolling on a simple work order. Don't expect your calls to be answers or messages returned. Honestly folks I saw the bad reviews and thought it was all over-exaggerated but this is a horrible place to live. I am one of the lucky ones because I have nice and quite neighbors and no bugs in my building, but most aren't so lucky. You can find a much better place for the price! Hopefully now that there is a new owner they will fire everyone and start fresh, they can't even post payments on time so I elect to use the electronic payment method since I don't trust them with my account!
