All of the negative reviews are spot on. One thing I am appalled at is how the air circulation in these buildings-it is horrible. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE WITH CHILDREN! I am on the 4th floor. My apartment smells like a dispensary and I do not smoke. The management says they cannot do anything about it. WRONG you can. I will post a number for you to call where they can help. This is unacceptable that my 15 year ols son and I have to live like this. And be careful of those beautiful balconies. The main reason I choose this place. They vent the boilers outside on the bottom floor so if you sit on your balcony the smell of gas makes it impossible to breath. Because it is outside though the gas co. says its safe. No matter-you will not be able to open your windows or sit outside. Please if you have children find another place!

The complex is great and I leaved here for many years. But the New management stuffs are not nice. The way how treat people I don't like it. The manger she feels she is princess and she never get out from her office to help any one. She need to know that the Residence are the one who pay her salary. My lease is gonna be up on August and I can't wait to move.

I have lived here since January 2011. I originally loved the place. Neighbors were great leasing office was great. I had seen some bad reviews but I had not had the same expeiriences until all new management came in. They changed a lot of the rules without notice or letting current tenants know there was all new management. Now in the past 6 months the heat and hot water has been turned off every other week for 1-2 days for maintence. Mind you the weather has been lows in the teens every night. My fence is literally falling off. I have to call every week to get them to spray for bugs and this last work order i told them we found a couple cockroaches and im still waiting for someone to come and spray! I have a 9 yr old mimi italian greyhound and she has been on the lease for 2 years and I pay $15 a month and i have paid a $300 deposit for her. I get a notice on my door that I have an unauthorized pet and need to pay the office $250 or I will get evicted.I had to call and tell them to look at my lease. I call and ask how much i owe and they give a total. Then they call back say they forgot to add something so now i have to pay the extra $54 they didnt include plus $165 in late fees on $54. Then they just say oops sorry. Super noisy you can hear your upstairs neighbor pee and brush their teeth so it sucks if you get really loud ppl above you. YOU WILL NEVER SLEEP. They repaint the shower walls so paint is peeling off and sticking to my 3 year old in a bath. The cabinet doors keep falling off. I have had to drill new holes. And dont lean on the fence it will tip over. I thought ppl that were writing the bad reviews were ridiculous but nope these are all valid complaints. I asked them to paint the fence because you could see the rotting wood and the next day when i gor home there was a 5 gallon bucket of paint and a brush. The blinds were mising chunks so i asked them to replace them and i ended up having to replace them. They would not even take the cost out of rent or give me any credit.

I have lived here for two years and we moved in with a bunch of cockroaches! They worked on the problem but I still see one here and there once in a while. There was even a time when one cockroach ran across my husbands face when he was sleeping! We recently saw a mouse about a month ago and called the office about it. They just asked if I caught it and made no attempted to call a pest service or anything. We recently got new management and they have been the most strict management I have ever had in my life. Which has its pros and cons to it but they would not work with us even when a misunderstanding occured, when our rent that was due fell on a holiday and they had no overnight drop box. We always are on time with our rent because I absolute hate paying fines. Even with our good history they would not work with us. I have lived in apartments for the past six years in Denver and never came across so many problems with a place before! There are always water problems, heat problems, dryer problems and noise problems. There are a couple more problems Iam not even going to mention! Our apartment is decent and we enjoy the dog park but once I move out I will never recommend this place to anyone, ever!

Overall, it was a nightmare! The amount of times I had to call the Police for Noise Complaints against my neighbors was far too much! But even the new Management did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue, except blaming me for it! I lived there for a year! At least three, sometimes four, times a week I had to call the Police on my neighbors for either Harrassment or Disturbing the Peace! Again! The Management did nothing!

Starting to get nightmarish here. Lived here nearly all of 2011 with no problems at all. 2012 has been a different issue. I'm not sure what the biggest issue is, the repeating waves of bedbugs, the apparently completely random way the pesticide companies treat/invade your premises, or the staff's apparent lack of control over these issues (both of them). Since May 2012 I have been sprayed for bedbugs 6 times; no idea where they came from, I have a somewhat cluttered but clean apartment, don't leave bug breeding conditions favorable. I was given an *insane* amount of preparing and material-moving to do; SO much in fact that 70% of my belongings sat outside on the balcony in boxes over the summer...because "they'd have to come in again in 1-2 weeks" and I didn't feel like spending 6 hrs a week reboxing my stuff and putting it out on the balcony again. after the 6th time, there were no problems...for a few months. Then I was warned that my place would have to be re-sprayed again: why? Because management had found a "nest" "nearby" in one of my neighbor's apartments -- wouldn't identify whom -- so couldn't protect myself from what direction they might be coming from when they fled the other apartment. Sure enough, within a week of them hitting "the nest", bugs are back in my bedroom -- just a few, but it's traumatizing now after the summer I had. And I got a notice saying I wasn't prepared for spraying, on a week *I wasn't even notified they were going to spray* -- they just invaded my place without due notice. I *really* love my top floor view and the balcony, and the location is good...and even the livinq quarters are ok, but honest to God? I've given them every chance under the sun; management has changed 2-3 times since I've been here in the last 1 3/4 years, and it's just not worth the heartache, headache, or stress anymore. I'm getting the **** out of here when my lease is up. I don't know whether it's this building, this neighborhood or further; but I didn't have any problems with bedbugs any other place I've lived in Denver or Broomfield over the last 10 years. They need to ****ing nuke this place with pesticides...but there's probably no way to get inside the infrastructure here...so...they just need to tear it all down and be conscientious and not slumlords making a profit off people's misery.

Don't let the reviews scare you away! I looked into them and asked the management company and staff what the response was. Majority of these comments were placed when there was a different staff and or different management company. I moved here from New York and I have received a great deal of help and assistance from the office since I arrived. I also was concerned with the bed bugs and was informed that all units are inspected prior to a new resident moves in by a well known pest control company. There is a patrol company that comes through the community three-four times a night and we have full access to their dispatch number if something happens during closed hours. BONUS! They take care of any noise issues (some have mentioned in previous listings) pool issues and loitering if occurs. I have only been here a short time but I am more than happy with my experience and re location assistance! Thanks staff

Please I am begging you DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! My wife and I had lived there for 3 years management has changed 5 times since then getting progressively worse. I never saw roaches everyone is referring to Bed Bugs there is an epidemic there they sprayed 3 times in the past year one reason why we left. Along with that the management is rude and nasty except one lady that should be the one running it. There has been car break-ins a shooting across the street and a rape near by just to name a few since I lived there yet another reason we left as well as the mail boxes got broken into 3 times in the two weeks leading to Christmas and again after that we had to walk to the post office to get our mail. They charge you $3 a month for pest control with is their responsibility and they have raised rent which is a joke I found a place in the same area for $80 more than my one bed room there for two bed room two bathroom and 520 sq. ft. more. In addition to the horrible upkeep with trees hanging so low branches can scratch your car horribly as well as the elevators smelling like urine and marijuana among vomit stains and graffiti. Only bright spot is the maintenance is good if you can get a hold of them due to the laziness of the management. We had a leaky faucet int he bath tub fixed 3 times a year every year and just now got fixed right the day we are set to move out. RENT ha this is my favorite subject at that hell hole you have til the 5th but non-business days count as due days the drop box has been torn off and removed because people broke into it so they expect you to slide it under the door? It is a glass door easy from someone to break in the weak door and steal you rent. That combined with $100 if you are a day late which is ridiculous because the place isn't that nice and it is about a 6th of your rent which I believe is illegal in Colorado. These are just a few reasons not to live at The Lodge At Aspen Grove I could go on and on about how the management is never in the building as well but I feel I have said enough.

                    Sadly - Don't live here.

Don't Move here! I'm writing this to hopefully help someone else not go through what I have seen so many of us here go through. Roaches Dirty Trash all around No secured doors very expensive for what you get not clean just painted over. Extremely high utilities they tell you it s shared by building tenants based off how many people in the apt and how many bedrooms. Yet they don t keep track of the 4-6 extra people living in apartments that aren t supposed to. You ll pay for them. And when everyone shares no one is contentious of closing doors or not leaving the water running YOU LL pay for that too. And the windows are single pained, aluminum, and not sealed translation an air conditioner in the winter. GO shared utilities!! Which by the way there is no transparency in billing or a way to track how much is actually used. So you may just be giving extra for someone s fat paycheck or what ever management didn't "budget" for. P.S. We ve had no air conditioning since May they said it d take 6-8 weeks for a chiller to be built It s now September and we ve all baked all summer no deduction in rent OR utilities. We were told that our leases say nothing about having air conditioning it s a luxury. Good luck in your apartment search I hope this saves a few.

                      Man and Dog vs. Mice

I didn't mind the lodge at first, overall its didnt seem too bad, but recently I've got some serious complaints. They messed up my initial payment, then came back two months later and demanded another $200, the summer came around and it was too hot to live in my 3rd floor apartment because they failed to fix my air-conditioner, actually they didn't even try. (I had to spend most of the summer at my girlfreinds). Now, and this is the last straw, mice have invaded my apartment and my dog and I have begun to wage a war against these rodents and we are loosing the war. I asked the maintenance crew to give me some traps and they said they would send the pest control people over in two weeks! Meanwhile, mice are climbing around in my pantry, and cuboards, etc. at night keeping me awake. Ridiculous! Then they tagged my door with a letter saying that they wanted me to sign a 12-15 month lease and they were going to raise my rent $15 a month. I wrote a response letter saying I would pay no more money and sign a 6 month lease, detailing out my extensive concerns about the -------- and they told me they didnt negotiate prices. I laughed at them, the audacity.

THE ONLY PLEASANT PART OF YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PROPERTY WILL BE THE NEW PAINT AND DECOR IN THE LEASING OFFICE..no joke! TENANTS OF ASPEN GROVE: *Being a LEASING AGENT MYSELF* You're management company is breaching their leasing agreements with you again and again. You're paying for heating and air that you haven't been receiving for months, the office staff violates fair housing laws left and right. You have say-so, you have a voice, you have power!!! Maybe you just need the knowledge of the actions you can take against this horribly run and awfully maintained property. *The office staff has had tenants entering leasing agreements under the false pretenses that you have heating and air in your units. You do not. Legally, there are laws with time restrictions on repairs such as these, they do not follow them. They will falsely tell that their new equipment is being built and will be in place shortly....can a few months truthfully be considered a short amount of time? Unless you're a fool, which the office staff will take you for...NO. *Hot Water, if your unit loses its hot water, they have 24 hours in which to have it resolved. anything more you have grounds to withdraw from your lease because they are breaching their own contract. *Bed Bugs... Just report that one to the Department of Health, the dept. loves to know properties with these infestations. *If you make a complaint to the staff and they back lash at you, fair housing. That's harassment and if they make your living experience a living hell with them afterward, you can get them for that too. THEY DO NOT EXIST WITH OUT CUSTOMERS. YOU HAVE POWER, GET INVOLVED IF YOURE NOT HAPPY.......TAKE ACTION!!!!

Our truck has been hit by someone in the parking lot overnight, truck was robbed, Trash keeps being thrown off the balconies above us including glass, glass flowers tubes used for crack are found in the parking lot, upgraded...not renovated, no primer on walls before the paint, broken thermostats, NO A/C for 3-4 months during the hottest time of yr and still going w/o(violating their own lease by NOT diligently working on the problem), NO hot water for 3 days and counting w/ NO contractor onsite like they claim, damaged motorcycles from unwatched/controlled kids, no insulation at all, single pane windows/doors, real estate tax paid by the tenant, dogs w/o leashes coming through our screen door to get to our dogs, NO security at all (building NOT secure), most staff is very unhelpful and blow you off w/ nose in the air, care more about "appearances" than the people living here, and they charge for the water they use for their sprinkler system that goes despite it raining cats and dogs, find ways to compensate drops of utilities by finding a way to up another, and no way to get quarters for laundry onsite. Whatever you do, DON'T judge this place by the words and appearances of what they say and try to show you.

If you love yourself, don't live here.

My roommate and I moved in only four months ago and if we could get out of our lease today we would! The buildings are not secure - people basically just walk up and yank on the door to open them, the fitness center is terrible and is in the same room with a big kids' playroom, so there are kids just climbing on the exercise equipment. The apartments themselves are shady. I had to request a security bar on my sliding door because someone had broken it off, the paint has never been repaired, even though I've asked the office staff five times to have it fixed, their utilities are ridiculously high and don't even include electricity ($78 for "hot water energy"?? Really? That doesn't even include the actual water). The staff politely brushes you off when you tell them that there are people blaring music in the parking lot at 3 AM or if a dog poops inside the stairwell (I had to clean that up myself and I don't even own a dog). Short version: If you love yourself, don't live here. It's gross. PS: The rent price below doesn't include the $120-$150 they charge every month for: Water, Sewer, Trash, Hot Water Energy, Pest Control (but they don't spray unless you ask them to and we've had to ask 3 times), Real Estate Tax (hello, we're RENTING not owning!), Service Fee (Yes, they throw in $5 just because they can). My favorite part: I just opened up my thermostat because it doesn't seem to be working and there are NO WIRES in it at all. It's just for show. Grr.

They lure you in w/ bs. We pay for pest control...yet we have ants. We pay real estate tax...yet we rent. We pay too much for EVERYONE else using the heat when the heat has been off for near a whole month. Place is falling apart and cheaply...I mean cheaply...put together. We get blamed for peoples dogs that poop where ever they like, and get blamed for the dogs not being on leashes when WE are one of the FEW that do use a leash EVERY time. The staff is ignorant (Except 2 of the maintenence guys...those 2 are great) and treat you like an a**hole when you complain. We had paint peeling off the walls, water leak from the apartment above, toilet that does not work right, and now it has been almost 2 hrs since I called to tell the office that a hose blew right off the bottom of the toilet spraying water everywhere. THEY violate thier end of the contract...so we are getting out of this lease and moving ASAP. How do you do laundry w/ no quarters? The laundrymats up the road will NOT give you change to do your clothes unless you do them there. They have no way to make change. WE ARE NEVER LATE PAYING!!!!!

First of all, the office staff has no clue about customer service. Before moving in they will promise and say whatever you want to hear. The non-stop parties, loud music, fights and general disturbance is present in the building. When you try to report it or any other unusual events at the office, they will look at you as you were the bad guy. If you want your balcony door to be safe (they remove the imortant parts so you cannot lock it only with the metal bar)you are supposed to pay an extra fee, around $40.00. When you find problems upon doing your first inspection of the apartment, they will refuse acknowledge it and it will not be on your files, basically no protection. Before we moved in, the APARTMENT WAS NOT CLEANED AT ALL. We took over 200 pictures and wanted to show it to the office staff but they did not care. The place smelled like dog p. The so called painter sprinkled painting all over the carpet and the linos in the bathroom and the kitchen. The kitchen floor was damaged probably someone tried to drag the heavy fridge... The maintenance is a joke. The guy (poor thing) is polite but have no idea of how to fix a leaking pipe or any other thing in the household. For a year I lived with a leaking sink in the apartment that caused mold smell and a lot of hassle when I tried to clean. Even in a rainy weather the sprinkle system will turn on, we have water bills which we can prove with that the residents pay for the careless filling up the swimming pools and the constantly running sprinkle system. No matter what, you pay for everything that happens there even if they deny it! No security service. Basically anyone could walk in and out the property. The laundry facility is so nasty that we were forced to take our laundry to a landromat. The inside pool is dirty and it was this way for almost two years. They drained it in 2009 and ever since it has never been cleaned. We have seen pets in the pool outside having a good time and a wonderful swim with their owners. During the time we lived there we observed that it became a magnet for the drugies as we smelled the "usage" in the hallways frequently. We left the apartment basically in mint condition and they have still charged us for the carpet cleaning (we did not have pets) and for painting (which probably never been done even before they rented out the place again after we left). They sucked up a huge portion of our deposit. NO ONE CAN BE THAT DESPERATE TO WANTING TO LIVE IN THIS MESS! Unless you want to live with screaming people and music, being disturbed 24 hours a day with never a moment of peace...you would want to avoid living here! Ps.: Enjoy the view of the dishwasher! That is how we lived for over a year! This is how they installed it long time ago...:o)))Actually their website - server - does not allow me to upload the pictures or they have control over it... Great Place

The lodge is a great place and all. A month after leaving I recieved a bill for $140 for the apartment to be painted. I must have hung 10 paintings and there was nothing more than I handful of tiny holes. I must say that I've stayed in over 15 residences in my time, I even worked for a property management company, and not once have a heard of charging the resident for normal wear and tear when it comes to painting. Just giving anyone a heads up prior to moving in, go ahead and add $140 to the final bill for paint that is not needed. Either that or spend 7 minutes with a similar colored paint and avoid the charge. Again, as far as the big picture, I really did enjoy my time at the lodge.

Not even close to as bad as people are saying!

I live at the lodge and I think that you are CRAZY! I have never heard gun shots ever and I have lived here for 3 years. The pool is heated and always nice to go into. And if you have bugs in your aparment let the office know and they will send the exterminator out. Or it could just be that you need to clean your house! If your a/c is not working then the whole building would not have a/c. And I know that if the whole building had no a/c it would already be fixed. I have had such a nice experience living here! Any time I need anything I just let the office know. They are always honest and that is why I think that some times people say they are rude. They dont sugar coat anything. I Do also know that the office dose their part in making sure that everyone picks up the dog poop, but the office people dont see everything at every moment. So if you know a neighbor is not picking up after their dog let the office know their name or apt# they will take care of it. So all of you that just complain about this place and hate it so much then move!!! It will make it a nicer place for the rest of us!

Another day at the Lodge er the hood

9am - Gunshots inside the building somewhere. Good morning, another lovely day at the Lodge (how the hell did they name this place a lodge?) and where the hell are the aspen trees? 10 am - Good morning Mr. Cockroach, where are all your friends? Oh there they are 10:15 am - Neighbors outside my door smoking. Apparently hallways qualify as 'outside', I mean its a lodge and all 10:30 am - Oh yes, lady downstairs is walking her dogs. They bark when a leaf blows. Two of them, barking in tandem. These plastic windows do nothing to stop the noise from being heard loud and clear inside my apartment 10:35 -, time to take a walk and get some peace and quiet. What did I just step in? Oh the dogs pile of steaming cr@p. Oh theres another pile, and another. Kinda hard to see since the lawn hasnt been mowed in a week 11:00 am - Need to go shower to remove the stench of dog from me. Oh great, cold water, where is the hot water at 11 am on a WEEKDAY? hmm, the leak in my ceiling seems to be warm, that will work 11:30 - Its 100 degrees out, my air conditioner cranks out air at about 95 degrees. I guess inside wins. Plus there is less of a chance of being shot inside my home Noon - Smokers are back, they are having a party this time. Drinking? Well I guess its after noon (Barely) 1:00 - Pool sounds nice, lets go try that. 1:05 - Pool is murky and cloudy. Probably not safe. I do know there is no working heater in pool, so its probably nice and cool 1:10, cant get myself in pool, have an idea. Hot Tub doesnt work, its probably cool water too. 1:11 - What the hell is on the bottom of the Hot Tub? 1:12 - Screw it back to my apartment 1:15 - Reeks of smoke in hallway 1:17 - Someones trash didnt exactly make it to the dumpster. A for effort though. I give up Stay away from this (Lodge) and these (Aspens). Go find a real lodge with real aspens you will be much happier

                                      DISGUSTING

I lived at the lodge at aspen grove for only 6 months, but i was ready to run the first month. first 3 months we lived infested with cockroaches, no matter how much we complained and asked for a transfer nothing was done, we had to take it in our own hands to raid every single inch of the apartment. our microvae was broken 4 of the 6 months we lived there, the parking lot was like an ice rink in the winter, and we were actually left without heat for a whole week in january, and a bunch of times without hot water or waater at all. A pipe burst in the apartment above mine (i was in A403) and the water made the ceiling in my master bathroom burst, there was bugs, dirty pipe water wood chips and roaches clogging the bath tub, and it stunk up my whole apartment. maintenence said there was nothing they could do because it would distrupt my upstairs neighbors, so i went the next 4 months of my lease unabl to use that bathroom or even sleep in the bedroom at times due to the stench, and it was never fixed. the workout room was a joke all the machines were broken, the miantence staff was nice but very over worked and useless, the office staff was rude and always unhappy and unwilling to listen, especially terri, sandy at least tried nto be nice. The elevator was always broken or vandalized with gang signs and covered ib racial slurs. The laundry room was unsafe had my clothes stolen once, and the majority of the dryers were always broken.A random man walked into my apartment once, the building is supposed to be secure but anyone can come in with a code thats written in the front entrance 0696.Utilities bills were always overpriced. The only good thing was that the apartment was very spacious but definetly not worth the hell i had to live in, they seemed really nice when i frist saw them but it was horrible, all my neighbors agreed and quickly moved away as well. if anyone has any questions i would be happy to answer, email me!!!

                                      Beware of this place

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with mgmt here. the bldg in in forclosure and its bank owned at this point and they will not repair anything! Elevators are broken down a lot of the time, I have had water pouring down my kitchen walls and they have not been in to even check it out let alone to repair it. No indoor pool and the outdoor one is not heated but by the sun and they are renting to anyone because of a high vac rating. Everyone is moving out. They say 2 excersizing rooms nothing works. The hot tub is never cleaned out they just add cold water and let the kids jump in from the pool, which the gang bangers have taken control of. Jets dont work on hot tub. They let people let their dogs ---- everywhere and dont make them pick it up, a few of us that have dogs have to pick up other peoples dogs, you can't let your kids play on the grounds fear of them getting sick. they water every night 3-4 times and the bugs are terrible, and speaking of bugs roaches and bedbugs galore. Don't move here!!!!!

If I were to personify this apartment complex,I would call it a crack addict one step away from performing fellatio on strangers is a dark alley for its next hit. It is roach INFESTED. The staff has been telling me they will take care of it for 9 months and it is still the same. The exterminator has been coming every week for 9 months-still the same. Supposedly the health department came to investigate a dirty tenant a couple months ago-still the same! I can open any cupboard door and 1-4 roaches will run out of site. I have found them in my livingroom, bathroom and on MY BED! I have had to throw food away because they got into it. This place is a filthy hole. If you have any amount of self-respect, no matter how dire your situation, STAY AWAY from this ---- hole.

DONT MOVE INTO THOSE P.O.S APARTMENTS

These apts. are HORRIBLE. Management sucks, place stinks,Potheads all over the place. My microwave was broken for 6 months and they never fixed it. I was not in a contract at all and they insisted on having 3 months notice before I moved out. Now ive been out of there for about 4 months (Thank God) and now they are trying to charge me for paint and other stuff. I did not even see a penny from the deposit i gave 2 years ago. If you dont want to deal with unproffesional management and want to avoid headaches, just look somewhere else.

Glad to be out of there. You do not want to live there!

My wife and I lived at the Lodge at Aspen Grove for more than two years and watched the place steadily decline. Trash in the building and parking lot didn't get cleaned, the broken mirror in the elevator never got replaced. Locks on two of the four building doors broke and instead of being replaced they were removed. We were on the top floor and had a leaky ceiling anytime it rained or snowed heavily. Despite repeatedly telling staff of the problem for a full year, they did not do anything until my wife withheld rent. The staff when we moved in were nice enough. But the staff that took over this year seems at best indifferent at worst downright rude. Don't expect to get your deposit back when you leave. We left our place spotless, but were informed that as a matter of routine we should expect to pay $150 for painting, $45 for shampooing the carpet, and $20 to replace the drip pan on the oven. The only positive thing I can say about the Lodge is I liked the location. It was convenient to grocery stores, library, bus and light rail, cherry creek. But there are plenty of other apartments in the area that you should consider before this place.
