This place was awful. The apartment was small and poorly laid out, but fairly priced. Until they started jacking up the rent. After the first year, it wasn't such a deal anymore. The management did not allow smoking in the apartments, which was nice for me as a non-smoker. The laundry area was gross, black gunk caked in driers, washing machines rusted out. They don't look like they had ever been cleaned. I had to take my laundry to a laundromat. Very inconvenient. The complex was very noisy. Lots of people banging around, partying, and listening to loud music at 3:00am. The staff was not helpful in resolving this problem. After several complaints to the Westminster police, they must have gotten tired of coming out to investigate the excessive noise. They finally told me to take it up with the office staff or that I should just move. After numerous complaints to the office staff, they told me that "I was going to hear my neighbors." Which is understandable, but I didn't want to hear them at 3:00am in the morning. About halfway through my lease, one of the office staff members moved into the apartment below me, and was one of the worst offenders regarding noise. He and his guests would stay up late, drinking and partying and would play loud music. There was lots of dog poop and cigarette butts on the grounds. I would no recommend this place to anyone. Parking wasn't a problem when I was there. The area felt nice and safe, I never worried about having my car broken into.

It's now been 3 months and most things have been good. However I'd go somewhere else if you expect decent customer service by phone or if you seek a place that takes responsibility for their actions instead of adding fees to your bill and sayin "oh well". I've been through everything to get the office to even contact me by phone for 5 days now. How hard is it to talk to a customer? Here's my experience the last 5 days. I got a 3 day notice (you get one if you're late on rent, as well as $50 late fee, $50 returned payment fee, and $35 notice fee. I think they like fees here...) and wanted to talk to someone about the amount it said I owed. I went to the office since it was sat. and was told only 1 person knows about billing, and they weren't there. So I waited till monday, all the while my account was being charged $10/day since it was still late (yes, another fee). Monday came and I got a voicemail saying to call them back if I still had questions. Great! I certainly did since I couldn't get them answered on sat. So I called back and was told the one lady who could answer, was out and would call back once she got back. Did she? Ya, no. No call back. I wanted answers, so I called the office after waiting 2 hours (lunch doesn't take 2 hours). Someone answered then immediately hung up before I could say anything. I thought "ok... That's rude and unprofessional, but maybe it was a glitch" and called right back. Ya... this time no one picked up and after awhile it went to voice mail. Phone calls clearly weren't working for me. So, since they have a handy dandy "email us" feature on their website I used it and sent a message asking someone to contact me. But do you think anyone did? Nope. No email, no call, no nothin in return. That is except another $10 late fee added to my account. By this point I gave up and wrote this apt complex off as just another company who could care less about their customers and stopped calling/emailing. Nothing was working and it'd been days of waiting. Then today (tue) I got another voicemail saying to call them if I still had questions. I did and finally got ahold of someone. I thought "Thank god! Maybe something can be done now", but that was short lived. When I asked the lady, who btw I think is awesome as a person, to explain the diff. I was getting in what I owed and what their site said I owed, she just listed the fees. She couldn't actually answer the simple question of "Why is there a diff." and said I'd have to come in. Even after I explained as clearly, step by step, what I was adding to get my numbers, she couldn't answer. Just so you can get a feel of the math, here it is. rent = 1168. I paid 226 already. Without any fees (take away their listed $145 so far in fees) how much do I still owe? That's simply 1168 - 226 = 942. Fine, so I added in their listed fees (late, service, etc) to see how much I really owe now. I got 942 + 145 = 1087. See, simple math. But wait, 1087 != 1136 (what their site says I owe). This is the diff. I wanted them to tell me about but still don't have answer to. I'm pretty sure one of the returned payment fees is being hidden in another fee, like rent, since that's $50 and if we add 50 to 1087 we get....... 1137. I figured that out in only 5 min. but can't get a conformation on it. To make things even worse, I was told I would get a list of the fees and everything for my bill emailed to me so i could see what was being charged. Ya.... as with everything else, I never got it. No email, no nothin. So I'm still without an answer or anything to show why the diff. of $50 exists. But wait, there's more! When I asked if something could be done about the late fees they charge per day since I'v been waiting on them I was told no. They wouldn't do anything, even though I've been trying everything to get a hold of someone and still don't have answer. They just said "the fees are in the lease" and since it's now the 3rd day I'll get a "layer" fee of over $200 added (man they lovvvve fees) and I have to pay. I think that's bogas and rude. Update-- Its now friday of the same week as above ^ and these people just closed the office knowing I would be coming back to pay my rent. I got there and asked what my balance was. Once I got it, I told them I'd be right back with money orders to pay. They said they'd see me when I came back. I got back at 6:02 since I had to go to my bank down the road. Just 2 min. late. They didn't even try waiting for me to come back. They just closed up and left, knowing I was on my way back. And the worst part? Tomorrow they'll add another late fee. I'd stay away. In fact I'd run far away from these people and that's exactly what I'm doing very soon. These people absolutely don't care 1 bit about you. They just want to charge you $100's (literally) in fees so they can pad their pockets. And if you try to talk to them, well.... you wont get very far. It's been hell for me. Just save your money and look for a better place

If you are ok with never having a place to park and you have $300 to be towed if they decide you cannot park in a completely undesignated "no parking" area on any random day, this is the place for you. Terrible experience in dealing with landlords and concerns. The landlords will not take responsibility and will consistently respond to you with "Sorry. There is nothing we can do", even under circumstances caused by their action. If you get home after 6:00pm, plan on parking across the complex. If you need to carry in groceries, I suggest you make time for shopping during the week and return to your apartment before 6, otherwise enjoy the trek if you are lucky enough to even find a spot to park within the complex. We were also given the wrong mailbox key when moving in and the smoke detectors were never installed as promised. This has been a terrible experience. For the landlords/owners of this complex. You have proven to be incredibly unprofessional, unhelpful, and single sided. Consider actually providing your residents a place to park their cars. We will be moving soon and I am very disappointed in the amount of my time and money this place has wasted. Village Creek Brookhill Apartments will hold you responsible and liable for towing for reasons that are not included in the lease. Be prepared to deal with unexplained and unreasonable situations and as my advise have a good lawyer ready to be called. I truly hope new residents consider this incredibly unsatisfying situation I have been put in before signing a lease with Village Creek and potentially finding yourself in the same.

Do not rent here! Staff refuses to deal with problems of any kind. Everything is fine as long as you don't have a problem. Noisy, dog poop everywhere. College kids partying, illegal immigrants, just to name a few. The only good thing about this place is the maintainance crew, fast and friendly. Manager refuses to deal with noise problems. Rent is way to high for what you get. Tiny apartments, no washer and dryer and asking $1000 for a one bedroom. Insane! No grass, half the time the laundry room machines don't work. Pool light popped out and damn near killed a little girl, electricity shooting everywhere. Stay far away from this one.

Staff has always been friendly and helpful to my roommate and I, and after looking at multiple complexes for several months, they're the friendliest we've come across. The "fees" people complain about are actually in the lease if it's read, and the staff will answer and explain any concerns you have about it. While the complex is not as up to date as neighboring rentals, the pricing is fair and if you rent at the right time, can get a great deal. I would advise buying a parking spot because it can get stressful walking long distances from car to apartment, and convenient spots fill up quickly. The laundry room loves to take your money, so you'd be better off going to another laundromat, but thats the laundry companies fault. The pet policy is great, although the complex needs more responsible pet owners. Overall, this complex is a good place to live if you're looking for your first rental. Remember no complex is perfect, and you get what you pay for.

DO NOT RENT HERE!! Do not be fooled by cheap rents or move in specials . This place is ALL about fees and fines and crappy maintenance. You will be charged utilities for the apartment while it was vacant before you moved in, don't pay? They will evict you. When you move out, they will charge you "First and last months utilities" out of your deposit, so again, paying while you are not in the apartment, and they will charge the next tenant as well. Not sure HOW they get away with this legally, but they do it. Recently, they changed billing services and we are being charged twice for water and twice for trash. we pay MORE for water than my friends who have 3 people in a detached house. We are paying $50 a month for water!! for 2 people!! Not based on ACTUAL usage, but on a "per occupant" calculation. DO NOT RENT HERE, they are total crooks. Rude staff, lazy maintenance people who when you call at 7 pm make you wait until the next day to come unclog your sink. Poor grounds maintenance, overgrown bushes, hacked to death. They are spending money to remodel the clubhouse and laundry room, which I guess is why they stick with a fee every chance they get. When your lease is up,. EVEN if the same apartment you are in is renting for less, they will raise your lease. CROOKS. DO NOT BE FOOLED.

This place is great! I moved in in July of 2013 and have had no problems. The staff here treat everyone with respect and get to problems as soon as possible. I had a big toilet leak and within 1/2 a day the maintenance guys were there to fix it. The property is beautiful. The prices are pretty good especially for the area, I thought they'd be more, and no they are decent. i would highly recommend living here. It's an apartment, you aren't going to live in silence, but that is what expected in apartment life.

This is a miserable place with a dilapidated apartment. Outlets upside down & doors crooked; fuse box door that will not shut; kitchen appliances pop; crackle, and the water heater pilot light constantly going out with a maintenance crew that whines when you call them. Towel rails fall off on the floor; wood floor has gaps everywhere and a 40 year old thermostat that is accurate to about plus or minus 15 degrees. They do the typical bait and switch game of showing you a nice apartment only to put you in a dump when you move in. Village Creek Apartments is owned; managed by Riverstone. Corporate is in Dallas; TX.; and they have an F Better Business Rating. They have around 200 complaints against them for mostly billing; charges; move out disputes. Everything is plastered with Riverstone on it with Village Creek as a subordinate. When money is involved&; complaints with BBB and filings are directed to the Dallas office most of the time. Careful of those really high rated reviews.....it probably is the front office posing.

I've lived here almost a year and I'm really happy here. Very homely. Friendly neighbors, staff is great. Their old assistant manager is now the manager and she's fantastic (not a fan of the previous manager). Love the leasing agent. Personable and professional. Never had any issues with maintenance, always on time and professional. Grounds Keeper is a character but fun to have on property. Location is fantastic. You are close to everything. Close to shopping, eating, Boulder, Denver. Not a lot of traffic on Vance or 90th which is nice. The buildings are pretty old and sometimes it shows its age. But it's well maintained outside. The actual apartment is obviously not brand new, i.e. my closet door sticks sometimes, some patches on the walls, paint peeling on my balony railing, old furnace. But nothing serious. It's a really great apartment for the price. Lots of different kinds of people here. Younger, older, families, singles. Just kind of a mix. Parking can be an issue for some people. In the back there is a ton of parking so that's not a problem, but I've had neighbors that live 2 buildings down have to park by me before (I'm by the overflow parking). Never use the pool or fitness room so can't say anything about that. Weekends the laundry room can get pretty full and some people aren't good about taking their clothes out of the washer/dryer. But there are 16 washers and 16 dryers. It's nice to be able to load as many washers as you need and have it all done in an hour and a half. I haven't had any problems with noise. Once in a while I hear a toilet or some footsteps. It probably depends on your neighbors and all of my neighbors are pretty quiet I guess. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Cons: -The grounds are my biggest complaint, with maintenance quality at a close second. Some areas have no grass, just mud which runs off onto sidewalks when it rains and snows. -Everyone here has dogs so there is dog poop everywhere. Clean up stations often do not have any bags in them. -Quality of maintenance is very poor. Work done is only shortcut fixes. Sloppy paints jobs, fixes to holes that blatantly stand out (no bother to paint to same color or make the same texture). Sealing around outside doors is poor. Inside doors do not close nicely and often get stuck. -You can hear some noise from neighbors above (alarm clock ringing, toilet flush, muffled voices, footsteps). -The pool & hot tub are AWFUL. Big complaint. I don't think the maintenance guys know how to properly maintain either one with chemicals or temperature. The water was always very cloudy and murky; did not look clean EVER. Sometime the water was warm and most times ice cold. People party around the pool all hours of the night, leaving alcohol bottles and trash everywhere, even vomiting right next to the hot tub. -Most units have very old appliances though the model that you'll seehas newer ones. -Only one small recycle bin which is always overflowing so there is often containers lying on the ground. People often drop off bulk items (couches, tredmills, mattresses) next to the dumpster. Doesn't look pretty when you have people over. -No washer/dryer in-unit. Laundry room is often busy. Have to load money on a laundry card through a machine which doesn't often work; you can't just put coins into machines. The card machine also only takes $5's, $10s, and $20s, no $1's. Pros: -The biggest pro for me is location. Close to fast food, movie theater, mall, highway, etc. Also close to several good schools. Easy route to get to downtown in about 15 min. -Newly built park and playground across the street. -Staff has been nice and responsive to noise complaints and general issues. -You can rent online. -Some apartments have wood fireplaces. -Lots of kids in the neighborhood (if you have a family). Neighbors are all pretty friendly. -Flexible lease lengths. Overall, not a bad place to live but not the prettiest. Definitely not luxurious. If you like to spend your summer mostly at the pool, I would say not to move here. If you are a single adult who is probably not home most of time time or student, you'd probably be satisfied living here.

Hello all you crrrazy peoples! I have lived have Village creek for just short to four years, and have found it to be a great place. Didn't. care for the color choice when the place was repainted but to well, what are you going to do. I have met and worked with two different office, and maint. Staffs and I find these folks that are here now friendly and competent. I Android 100% disabled and don't seem to mind my hanging you in the office. This makes it a home and not just a "COMPLEX". I hope to have a few more good years here.

I have only been in the apt. for 3 month, but find it to be VERY quiet and comfy. The way they handle allhas been outstanding and look forward to staying here for quite awhile. I am a big dog lover and they are great with allthey do for our furry friends. The appliances and all are quite new and work great. I happen to be a baker and cook and find it awesome a stove that actually is regulated-lol. I also love the carports, it was a savior in the winter months, not once did I have to clean my car off. Also very close to all the different store and resteraunts, ya need to go now where in a vehicle, so close.

My husband and I moved our family into these apartments at the end of June of 2012. We had moved to CO in Nov. of 2011 so this was the 2nd set of apts. I had lived in ever. So, being an extremely particular tenant that missed living in a house that means if I am not happy I will state that to whomever will listen! The first aptartments we lived in (which was in another town) was a nightmare! In June of 2013 our lease will be up and my husband and I are already going to resign a new lease for another year. When I was looking at Village Creek I walked through every possible model they had with a couple being twice. I also toured other apartments in the area and did not feel as welcome. The people that work here are professional employees and ARE friendly if your friendly! The emminities are clean and maintained. If there is a problem with one of the washers or dryers, tell the office staff and it is fixed as quickly as possible. Keep in mind, things break, they would if you owned them yourself in your own home. The apartments are clean. The day we did the inspection to moved in I have a very hard time finding something wrong and in no way did I feel like I was moving into someone else dirt. I do not have the upgraded apartment either. All appliances worked and have continued to work. I have requested 2 things to be replaced or fixed (the kitchen fawcet and tub fawcet) and they were both replaced within 24 hours. The maintence staff is pleasant and effecient. I have had no issues with my neighbors. As a matter of fact I have several I call friends. The community IS VERY pet friendly so if you have issues with dogs don't move here. They have doggies stations throughout the property. If you see doggies droppings that's because the dog owner has issues and doesn't do his job! If you see a dog station needs bags, tell the office. They are replaced. I have never had a problem finding a parking spot close to my apartment. My husband and I feel very safe when I am in my home. For three DIFFERENT apartment complexes that sit together this is a very quiet peaceful area. Do you hear a neighbor on occasions? Yes, it's an apartment! When I lived in a single family home I heard my neighbors! Do you hear a dog bark? Yes, on occasions. This is an animal friendly apartment complex remember......I stated that already. If an ambulance goes by it's going to hurt the dogs ears... if something hurts your ears don't you say ow? With regards to the rent, in comparison to the rent rates in the Denver Metro area they are very competitive. I would recommend these apartments to anyone with a very clear concious.

I went through the market and looked at 13 different places to live. I came across Village Creek @ Brook Hill and fell in love with the area immediately. I was given a tour by Brian L and found him to be very knowledgeable of the area. Additionally Brian, and Trina were both so welcoming it added value to living at Village Creek. Everyone in the office is so nice and pleasant to talk to. I have never had a relationship with my leasing company like this. They are always excited to see me and i love catching up with them and saying hello. They have made it a very comfortable, warm and enjoyable place to live. The people that work here are just amazing people. They are there for business but will also stop and have a conversation, and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. Something different about this place, they are also there to say hello in the morning and ask how you week is going, you cant ask for better people to be working here. The maintenance crew is no different. They are very nice and always say hello when they see you walk by. They are always on time and when something needs to be fixed they are all over it! And they get it done the first time. That is a big win in my book. And i always get the feeling the maintenance people love to help out the tenants. They show up with a smile and a hand shake! The area is nice and quiet, no loud music, no drunk people being drunk. It is covered with windy walkways and big pine trees. i love walking around the complex, i feel like i am in the mountains. There is animal life all over the place too. Squirrels, birds chirping in the morning. I cant say enough about how great this place is!! I was about to move out of my apartment in April 2013 to move in with a friend, but ultimately could not go through with it because i would miss the people, the pool, the workout room, and the atmosphere. If you are looking to move in Westminster, you MUST check this place out. You will NOT be disappointed. Brian, Amy, and Trina are some of the best people i have met and just having them there adds a whole new perspective on value. The weight room is never packed or smelly. They always have yummy orange water ready with green apples. If you want to do cardio or free weights, they got it! In the summer time the pool is a great thing to have. It's always clean and feels very welcoming. Laundry is on site and they have plenty of washer/dryers. I have never seen it full. I always can get a load in. They have places with carpet or wood floors. With fireplaces or without. I live in the one bedroom place and have found it to be a great home.

The staff seems more concerned with getting your money than providing you with a personable place to live. Much of the external maintenance is no taken care of. My patio railing was loss the entire time I lived here. The gutters on my building were never cleaned and water would run all over my bike. Terrible place to live and so happy when I moved out!

I am a current resident but am looking to move further north due to a career move. For the money my unit has been fine. Nothing fancy, but this place is pretty affordable relative to other complexes in the area. Many people have complained about the other residents in their reviews... Maybe I have just been lucky or things have changed since 2007, but my neighbors have been really good for the most part. No one around me is particularly noisy. The only safety issue I've really noticed is that people tend to drive excessively fast through the parking lot, to the point where trying to park / backing out can be kind of an issue. While I have not had to make any maintenance calls in my time here, I give the complex poor marks for maintenance, mainly because my unit was not "move-in ready" clean when I moved in. It was immediately evident that many previous repairs were done haphazardly (i.e. paint stains, uneven trim, etc.). The drain on my bathtub was almost completely clogged with the previous tenant's hair due to not being thoroughly cleaned after she moved out. The only large burner on my stove has never worked. To be honest this hasn't really been an issue for me which is why I've never complained. However, I know that a less than completely functional stove can be a big sticking point for other folks. My reason for not recommending this place to others is that the office staff is largely incompetent. I moved to Westminster straight out of college in order to be close to my job. Since I had not yet started that job, I had no real proof of income, so my parents acted as guarantors for my lease application. Long story short, the leasing agent caused a huge stink about rental insurance coverage and was really nasty to all of us. He insulted my folks several times both to their faces and mine. This was merely because State Farm's policy is to collect information about the unit before granting coverage The agent freaked out because it was different than what he was used to seeing and refused to accept my application. After a number of back and forth phone calls, I was finally able to get this resolved, but it was certainly not a pleasant experience. I've had several other issues with the staff since then. I was never given a copy of my lease because the trainee didn't know how to print one (someone else had printed the document for her that morning). Also, they offered to set up Xcel for me. Sounds great in theory, but like in other people's experiences, this was never done correctly. I never got an Xcel bill in the first 2 or 3 months and had to call and ask for one. As a result, I owed nearly $300 all at once. Furthermore, the lock on my door had to be changed before I could move in because they misplaced the keys, and I was not told that my mailbox number was different from my apartment number which was annoying. So in summary, the unit and complex have been mostly ok once I got past some initial hiccups. Even so, I would recommend looking elsewhere if you can afford to, simply because the management is incredibly frustrating to deal with.

We've lived in Village Creek for 6 months and have been happy with the experience. The community is very dog friendly and priced right. The staff is very nice, helpful, and quick to respond. Our apartment isn't perfect, but for this price range it's great! There are downfalls with apartment living, outside noise, messy neighbors, etc. If you're sensitive to those things rent a single family home.

I, too have just moved in and I find these apartments to be "a dump." The wood floor unit where I have is dirty. The kitchen cupboards are old & need a new coat of varnish. It is an "old unit" that I have and has been well lived in. I'm always finding something either not working well, dingy & dirty & I have to put a work order in to have it fixed. I'm so disappointed! I miss my old place; it was a mistake for me to move here. The last blow came when I cannot have Directv--which I've had for years. Maybe if I complain enough, they'll let me out of my lease. Either that or I am looking to stay 1 year & move on!

-I just moved a little less than a month ago. -The staff is very nice and genuine, not too cheesy but not rude either. -The maintenance was very nice when they fixed my garbage disposal. They fixed it the very next morning after I called, which I've never had happen in other apartments. -I love all the trees and plants, but the leaves can be a bit much when it's windy. -I love the horse ranches and creek by the laundry room. -I wish they had reserved parking spots without having to get a carport, but no big deal. -It was very pretty when it snowed 4-6 inches the other day, and they had the sidewalks and parking lot cleared off when I left for work. -Washer and Dryers would be nice, but at least the laundry room is big. -I looked at a lot of apartments and this is the nicest one in my price range. -Someone else said they would update in 6 months, so I will do the same.

My reveiw for Villiage Creek is an absolute NO MOVING IN was a nightmare, it was dirty, underneath the stove fridge discusting. The bathroom had crud on the cabintry and rodiants are in the attick chewing all the electrical wires and the lights short out. Villige creek has a younger group that has moved in the past year and partying is every night of the week, beer bottles left on balconies looks like a frat house. The management has lost alot of tenants from fining residents for whatever they can there money grubbing tactics has chased alot of people away. Three months ago the complex was 98% full there is thirty two aparments avavailable that should tell you!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been here for a few years. At first, it was decent. It had interesting floor plans and was a good price-point for the neighborhood. That definitely changed. 1. The walls are paper-thin. There is no insulation and you can hear everything, and I mean everything. 2. The apartment management will not call you back. I have been trying to get them to call me on an issue for over a year. I have been promised a call back over and over, and have yet to have one. 3. The customer service isn't. They have no concern for the tenants and they are not the brightest people. 4. The lights on the south-east side of the property haven't worked for over a year. It's been reported over and over without any response. 5. Parking sucks, unless you purchase a car port. You MIGHT have a spot when you get home, if you're luck. 6. Maintenance is rarely helpful. My toilet was overflowing (1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment). It took an hour for them to arrive and they left without it being fixed. This is normal for this place. 7. The tenants party and refuse to adhere to the community guidelines. 8. The laundry room is teeny-tiny for the size of the complex. Overall, this place sucks. The rent has doubled in 2 years and it is not worth it. Find a different place.

Well we have lived at Village Creek for 2 1/2 weeks so far. I am going to try to write another review in 6 months to follow up from this. I looked for 2 months for an apartment that would be adaquate for my family of myself, husband and 5 year old daughter. I viewed apts. here at Brookhill 3 different times and I liked all of them. Because of finances and wanting to stay below budget we picked a large 1 bedroom floor plan and for us it is working out fine. I like the apts. because for me they have character. Everyone seems very pleasant. The laundry room is more than big enough. Pool area is very nice. Weight room appears to have everything you need for a good workout although I have not used it yet. A wonderful park across the street for the little ones that our little one dearly loves. Maintenence has been johnny on the spot for just a couple little things (a drawer had an issue in the kitchen). We haven't received a utility bill yet so can't voice an opinion on that yet. They do have doggie stations in quite a few places but I have noticed that even after they put bags and dumped the full bags people are not good at picking up their own dogs bizness :) Apartment living is not perfect but it "appears" that they do what they can here to take care of things. I am glad I chose this place.
