It is nice and peaceful. The community looks decent and makes you feel home. Everything is accessible and easy to walk around. The rooms are spacious and have balcony for that fresh air. Parking is there for everyone. All in all you are connected to nature and your professional life.

Apartment landscape, interior and utilities are good. There are no security concerns I've seen in my last 2 years of staying in this place. Only dissatisfaction initially I had is they charged onetime higher fee for using gym felicities although I had outside membership. But now they have upgraded and it's better.

Rents are pricey for the type of apartments. They are basic and a little outdated. However, for all the amenities, quick maintenance response, clean grounds, varies lease options, kid holiday parties throughout the year and pet friendly it is worth the higher cost.

Parking has gotten more limited by my building, but other than that it has been great to live here. All of my maintenance requests have been answered promptly and the staff clean up after they are finished working. I would recommend living here!

The experience at this community has mostly been a positive one although there is not adequate parking. Most times the complex is a quiet one. The neighbors are friendly and there are great amenities on the property. Limited closet space. 1

The staff is amazing. Beautiful & Serene area that is highly maintained. The few minor & one major issues we have had were all handled professionally and courteously. The were understanding of our personal lives, and accommodated our schedules, but got the issues resolved in a very timely manner.

Feel very welcomed and safe. Spacious bedroom and lots of closet. Very convenient to I 95. Have not lived in an apartment for 40 years and after looking extensively I chose Top of the Hill. It is well maintained and requests are honored immediately.

Great apartment. Nice staff, beautiful environment, quick service and convenient to shop around. I am very glad to choose here since 2014. Now I have baby and want to change apartment from 1 bed room to 2 bed room, I still choose here. One con I thought is sometimes the running machine in the gym often broke last year, but this year, they changed all the new equipments.

UPDATE BASED ON POST MOVE-OUT EXPERIENCE: We rented a Penske truck with a car trailer for our move. We parked it along the curb, making sure not to obstruct any cars, roads, or sidewalks, for one and a half days. During that time, we received several calls from the rude office staff urging us to move our truck immediately due to complaints. How can you possibly expect anyone to pack up an entire apartment without a moving truck of some sort parked somewhere? Thanks for the added stress, ladies. After settling in our new apartment across the country, we received a final deposit statement from TotH. They kept our entire $500 pet deposit and most of our security deposit (still haven't received the remaing deposit in the mail). We have two cats, I'm sure they caused catastrophic damage to the already worn carpets that you had to use our entire deposit to replace the carpet with other crappy carpet. $125 was taken out for repainting the apartment. We painted when we moved in, and I spent a good amount of money on gallons of primer when we moved out. Why did I even bother repainting in the first place if you were just gonna charge me to do it yourself? Disregard the end of my previous (below) review - Don't live here. It's not worth the price and management is downright greedy. ============================ At Top of the Hill, you just have to take the bad with the good. With that being said, our lease expires in a month and we are excited to move it. The good - Beautiful grounds, our apartment looks out to the woods and creek, it's a very pretty place to live all four seasons. Laundry is convenient (enough), quater-operated machines literally inches from our apartment door, but it meant added noise from other tenants and several trips to the bank for quarters. Maintenance is quick and usually knows that they're doing. Water temperature, despite living in a 6-unit building, we never ran out of hot (gets very hot) water. The location is key, with close access to i95, several grocery stores and restaurants, and Bellevue State Park. There's a kinda big pool, which is nice I guess. Overall, Top of the Hill is a nice place to live, but there are some things you should know about before you sign that lease. The meh - Noise level. We never had any major problems, then again, our neighbor was out of town more often than not, which was nice. We heard our upstairs neighbors every day in the form of their constantly barking dog. The fitness 'center'. It has two tredmills, two bikes, elliptical, stairmaster, and an all-in-one bowflex type of thing. It's nice when there's just a couple people in there, but when it fills up in the evenings, it's just plain awkward. The bad - Parking. If your building is off Haven Rd., prepare to do some walking to/from your car, especially if you work late like I do. The community. People who drive badly, park cars anywhere they want, and have late night powwows in the middle of the road. The complaining about parking is far worse than the offenses, on TotH's activebuilding online forum, where 'if you park on the line, you'll show up online'. It's actually pretty funny. The ugly - Rent. Come on. $1,200/month for a 1BR/1BA in North Wilmington (Claymont)? Also, we just got our notice to renew/vacate, which literally said they were "pleased" to offer us an INCREASE in rent for the new term. No thanks. If Top of the Hill is super close to your office or needed access to 95, go for it. If you're on a bit of a budget and don't wanna pay that much, that's cool too.

I relocated to this area to accept a new position. My search for a new home was primarily based on safety and security, then cleanliness of the units. I did my research and visited a few other apartment complexes and Top of the Hill was by far the best choice for me. Due to the concrete floors between each floor, I rarely hear a sound from the outside world and tip-toeing is not necessary. Nice appliances and counterspace helped make my final choice.

Staff are very cooperative, apartments are well maintained. Nice neighborhood. But no in-unit washing and drying machine is a pity. And my rent is much higher than some other people i know, which i don't feel good.......Overall i'm very satisfied and hopefully the rent won't go up next renew of lease since i'm paying pretty high already...

Staff is pleasant, easy to deal with. The maintenance workers are always friendly, hard working and respond in a timely manner. We find them to be neat and clean, always leaving the apartment neat and clean after completing repairs. Grounds are well maintained.

Beautiful community. Seconds away from shopping centers and minutes away from inner city wilmington but still in a safe area that is quiet. The apartments have lots of closet space, beautiful kitchens, with a small patio that has a great view.

my experience at this community has been great so far. the grounds are maintained daily. All of the neighbors pretty much keep to themselves but are very friendly. the community is very quiet and peaceful. the scenery is amazing.I enjoy sitting out on my deck just admiring the landscaping. I am in a 3 bedroom apartment and it is very spacious.we are a four-member family with two small dogs, and we do not feel like we're crowded.my only issues are the steps because we are on the third level, but I can't blame the community for that. But the hallways and laundry room can be a little unkept at times.the community does have an outside cleaning company that comes in and cleans the hallways and the rugs but it would be nice if they could come more often and if they could dust as well.the spider webs along the windowsill and the light fixtures are a bit unsightly. the downside to living around all of this beautiful greenery is that we can track in some of the leaves and mulch into the building's hallways. but other than that I'm very pleased with my decision to live here with my family. I would definitely recommend this place.and I'd like to add a recommendation. it would be nice if the community had a hall or a clubhouse we could rent out from time to time to host or entertain family and friends.

Top of the Hill is a clean, affordable apartment community with many amenities included. The staff is helpful and friendly as well. It is a great place to live and convenient to many places in the Delaware and Philadelphia area. The community has been upgraded over the last few years to make it even more welcoming.

Everything has been as expected and I'm content with the options available. Any problem has been handled with speed and haste. No complaints so far. Apartments are clean, quiet and everyone has been friendly throughout my time here. I appreciate all the hard work.

The apartments are very old and mouldy. I left the apartment for a week with the heat off and the kitchen sink flooded cuz of the pipes brook!! Parking is horrible and if very far from the apartments and if you have lot of groceries or luggage, it's a nightmare. Staff acts very nice before they rent the apartments and then they act like they own you and it's a huge privilege to be living in their apartments!!

The community is good but the buildings are old and will have noise problems. I.e. the AC unit is like running a vaccine cleaner all day, we here water and pipes noise from other unit and it's quite loud. The apartments have mice problems and the maintanence is unable to resolve any of the above problems. At one point I also had a leaking roof and the maintanence took almost a year to resolve this issue, every time we had a raid we had to move the furniture. We are just staying here as we have friends in this apartment.

It's peaceful around here. Apt units are decent. Maintenance crew does a great job! Parking after 6 pm is the only issue. Management should probably look into giving parking tags and designate guest parking areas. The only downside I find is that the gymnasium definitely needs to be fixed. They keep saying that new equipment is ordered but I never find it installed.

I've only been a resident here for a few weeks so Im still adjusting. This seems to be a very clean and quiet community. The only 2 complaints I have are the lack of parking and the extemely loud air/heating units. The office staff has been pleasant to work with and maintenance responded immediately to my first work order.

The neighbors are friendly, the staff are helpful and the rooms are laid out decently. The grounds are well kept and look nice. The issue I personally run into with my stay here is the consistent leaks. You can easily see the locations where they occur because the walls are water damaged. The issues should be fully fixed the first time instead of a temporary fix which seems to happen because they reoccur and then paint over the problem.

This apartment is perfect, with a lot of parking space, and fitness center, and beautiful view around. I moved in the building in April this year, only in one month's time, I have satisified with it. Besides, this place is quite safe and quiet. I can sleep very nice in the evening.

So far the experience is very pleasant. The Leasing office is very professional and courteous. The only slight problem is finding parking in front of the apartment - but overall the ambience, the community, the aesthetics and facilities is fantastic.

We moved here after selling our home. (We are looking to start over with owning a home). Karlyn and Dawn made the process very easy. We had to wait for the sell of the home to be finalized before accepting the apartment. (Which they patiently waited). I love the area a lot quieter and nicer and cleaner than where we owned our home. The kids go to a really good school. Their reading level has improved too. In regards to the apartments, it would be nice if they remodel the units. There is one washer and one dryer in the small laundry room. There are 6 units in each building (2 in each floor). However, remodeling the buildings and units and maybe adding washers and dryers to each unit would be great. Adding a basketball court would be awesome too (maybe right next to the tennis court). The downfall to me would be the parking. As much rent that the tenants pay, and the limited space to find a parking spot. We sometimes work til very late at night, and to come home tired and struggle to find a parking space is a hassle. Other tenants or visitors don't care how they park their cars, wether it takes up space or hit your car and leave without a note or anything. I like the area, the kids can play outside without any major worries, but I can't wait to own a house again. This apartment will go for now. The staff is great. Maintenance gets the job done immediately. Our apartment wasn't cable ready, but Comcast did come out and got the job done. If you looking for a nice, quiet, clean, pet friendly, kid friendly, nice school, great outdoor area for a temporary resolution then this is it. But be prepare to find parking from time to time.
