Horrible management
I cannot begin to tell you how horrible the new manager is! As if the property didn't have enough rude people in the office, the assistant manager is terrible, thinks he is better than everyone else, I could go on and on but why bother! The new manager is so nasty and rude it is not even funny! Not to mention, she is white trash! Whoever hired this broad made a BIG BIG BIG mistake!

Beware Dont Move Here
----- and her entire team are anything but what they would like you to believe. ----- has the demeanor of a cruise ship hostess to your face, but will soon have a knife in your back. Wait to you see here get drunk at the pool parities. The pet fees are excessive, the apartments are drafty, the HVAC systems are old and cheap to begin with so expect huge electric bills, they will tow your guests cars, they don t like children of any kind, oh they like the ones who stay in the house and don t make any noise. Allot of the review postings you see are posted by the office staff on here, read through the reviews, the ones where the office staff are referred to as TEAM are BS and posted by the office there, it is a dead giveaway.

The BEST!
We love living here! Jamie and her entire team are the BEST! The only reason we may not renew our lease is because we hope to purchase our first home, otherwise we would love to continue living here.

Nice Property
I have lived here for a couple of years and the property is nice and clean, the office staff is nice and the maintenance guys are also very good. Sure the staff is a little strict with certain things, but I wouldnt expect it to be any other way. They want to keep the property at a high level of excellence and the people who live here should want the same.

I am very pleased
I am very pleased w/the property itself and am enjoying the area a lot. There's not much traffic & it's very quiet. It's also a shame you cannot have personal BBQ grills, but at least there is one in the pool area.

From a prospective tenant...
I called to check availability on 2bd/2ba units on 2-18-10. A leasing agent IN TRAINING took my call and read me a sales script about the property amenities. Despite telling him that I'm well aware of what Northlake Park has to offer, he continued on for another 3-5 minutes with his sales pitch. When it came down to price, he said the 2/2 units are between $1,175 - $1,300/month. This is $275-$350/month ABOVE market prices for similar units in the area. He went on with another sales tactic by stating they're not available long because their occupancy rate is very high. This was a boldface lie! I know their occupancy rate is low and they're struggling as I have a very close relationship with one of their vendors. If you're going to work prospective tenants on price, at least have sales people who can pitch and don't lie.

---- Management
I moved into Northlake Park Apartments in 10/09 everything seemed great at first until we found out there nothing for the children to do, we started recieving complaints in the form of letters from the office(7day notice to cure)letters for things like washing our clothes after 8pm at night. The trafic in the the complex is unregulated and people speed through at twice the normal speed, the noise of the storm drain covers is unbearable from being hit at such a high rate of speed, mind you there are no children at play signs, but you will find plenty of signs directing you where to curb your dog. There is a nonrefundable pet fee of $500.00 and we were told that this was for maitaining the outside areas for the dogs and not for interior damage, just how much does $500.00 OF DOG POOP WEIGH??? A word to the wise the office staff is great just as long as you dont stand up for yourself, if you do thats when things get ugly, ----- is well known for not liking children and has a very vindictive personality, ---- is her croney and does her bidding for fear of loosing his job. ---------------------------------------- lives on the property at a discount and pushes up on the residents jamies doesent like following them off property and giving them trafic ciatations, you can see them walking the dogs together in the mornings, he keeps his --- in her garage. (Her leaving his house in her PJ's in the morning, how unprofessional) If you are smart run from this place and keep runing as far as you can! PS you can rent a 2000 sqft house in the area for lees that you can rent here!!!!

Northlake Apartments
I had to write this review do to the one negative review written by someone that did not live at Northlake Apartments. I did live at Northlake Apartments for a number of years and it is just a great place to live. And yes I know all of the staff but name. If you are looking to live in a great community stop looking and call them and see for your self. I would still be living at Northlake Apartments if it was not for the Crazy Government $8,000 tax credit that I received for buying a new home in 2009. I will also be happy to provide my name and contact information for anyone that is thinking of moveing to Northlake and has questions. Joe Farro E-mail: joefarro@aol.com

We love it here!
Everything during our time at Northlake Park has been wonderful. Edna, Tony and Jamie are very good at what they do. They are prompt, professional and always available. The only reason my wife and I are not planning to renew our lease is because we hope to buy our first home at the end of this year. I will gladly recommend Northlake Park to everyone!

I've been very pleased with my stay at Northlake Park. Jamie, Edna and Tony are very responsive to any needs or concerns that the community may have. Maintenance is top notch and has issues resovled quickly and correctly. I'm a little concerned about the noise level from my new neighbors, which would be the only reason I wouldn't renew my lease.

Not Friendly to Children
If you have children this is not the place for you! We moved in after losing our home, looking for an alternative, it seemed like a good Idea at the time. We soon found out that there was really no place for the children to play, no playground. They mentioned in their ad that they had kids club which is an 8x8 room with a TV, in the exercise room WOW! The kids soon started riding their bikes in the parking lots (no other place to play) soon after we started receiving complaints from the office in letter form which soon became harassing with threatening eviction letters demanding that the children not be able to play without supervision. It became more and more apparent that the children were not welcome, if you want to keep your children in the house 24 hours a day this is the place for you. If not stay away! There are no traffic signs, cars speed through the community from about 6pm on, stolen property and vandalism, and the apartment smelled like an ashtray when we moved in! There is a Pet Fee that is non refundable of $350.00 for the first dog if you have two it is $500.00 this is for the privilege of having a dog not for damage to the apartment this is additional! Rip-Off. The management is very aggressive and rude. $450.00 electric bill, apartment AC broken 3 times the AC unit is cheap bargain basement equipment installed by the lowest bidder. The lights are not needed during the day because of windows of three sides of the apartment , I only used the lights in the evening, go figure. Bottom line it would be cheaper to rent a house, you can 4 bedroom homes in this area for non of the hassle and less money! Good luck!

Northlake Park
Hello, I spent one year with Van Metre at Northlake Park however, I had only spent around five months living on the property due to travel with my work. I will list the problems I had while living there below. 1. Being issued a loud noise complaint. After recieving the complaint I went down to the main office and spoke with Management and asked what the complaint was regarding and management had no idea. I wanted to know what the problem was so I could prevent any future problems. No one ever contacted me as requested about the complaint. It is very upsetting to recieve a complaint and not know why. 2. Unsupervised kids everywhere. Aside from balls and toys hitting my vehicle in my driveway the noise caused by screaming children is very annoying. I paid a lot of money each month to relax when I am not working and to have to move toys from behind my vehicle to go somewhere is unacceptable. 3. With the office notified that I was away working I contacted them via email about a lease extension. No response, email after email, no response. So with no time left and no response I had to leave my job site and fly to FL and move out of my apartment, only to find out they had been answering my emails with notes on my door. To top it off I was told by management that it would have been no problem to extend on a daily basis if I could not get home by the end of the month to move out. That was extremely aggravating especally when it had a direct impact on the schedule on the job that I was working on. 4. Monthly extension rate. Extra $250? with two vacant properties listed on the website it isnt like renters were standing in line for me to move out. I told them I would extend for the same rate. They would not budge on the extension charge. Unacceptable! This is not how you treat excellent tenants. 5. Parking. Once again I was out of town and called about parking. If it had been communicated that we were able to park extra vehicles out on Northlake Pkwy. I never would have had a problem. 6. Fire safety inpections? Everyone in the community could see through the --------. Van Metre did not care about fire safety they just wanted cars put in the garages. Why a lie? I lost a lot of respect for Van Metre after experienceing that. 7. Final day at Northlake Park. 0845 I am moved out of my apartment and need to hand in my key so I can catch a plane. I see Management and say good morning, Im all moved out and I just have to hand in my key. Managements first response "You are going to have to wait until 9 O'Clock" What a terrible thing to say to someone who has just given over $14,000 to Van Metre in rent.

From a Genuine Tenant
We've lived here for over a year now and have had no issues until recently. It seems that an over abundance of families have moved in and have absolutely NO control over their children. They are running, riding bikes and skateboarding all over the property, screaming and carrying on. In addition, you almost have to get out of your car to be sure that you don't run them over. The office has tried to control the situation by sending out emails and putting flyers on doors but it has not improved. Obviously the parents could care less. Luckily we don't live in the buildings they do...otherwise I would've demanded to move to another unit. It's sad that the parents have no respect for their neighbors and can't control their own children. As far as the office staff, I have no issue with them. Any complaints I've had are resolved in a timely manner and I find them all very friendly. Maintenance is extremely efficient as well and usually resolves issues the same or next day. I've never had any issues or problems. So get rid of the screaming kids and you make the majority of your tenants extremely happy!!!!

----, ----, ------, and ----!!! Gag me...
I do not live here, but am also a prospective tenant looking for a nice place to live with my husband and frequent this site to check out HONEST, REAL comments about an area, as well as putting up my own reviews in the past. Reading through these I find it HILARIOUS (if not a bit sad) that it is PLAINLY OBVIOUS that someone who works there is posting tons of faulty reviews about the community (My guess would be ----...who touts for a promotion online? Like, really?). NEVER on any site have I ever heard every other entry mention over, and over, and over the staff by name, (coincidentally, the SAME 3, ----, ----, and ------ and always followed by 3 exclamation points...!!!) as well as the maintenance guy ----. No offense at all, who the hell really associates with their maintenance people so often that they know them by name? Unless the property is so shoddy that they need to frequently go to the units fix things (which would then be an obvious area of concern). And out of all the things I look for and want to know in a potential place to move into, office and maintenace staff (while important, yes) are SOOOO not my priority as much as SAFETY, SPACE, PRICE, AREA, and NEIGHBORS to name a few...Not only that but when I read a review titled "READ THIS FIRST!!!" (among many of other reviews that had comments also obviously made by the office staff defending the property. Who does that??? I don't go back to my old apartment reviews and go to "defend my complex's honor"...get real...) and the person wrote their review, there is a comment made by one of the office staff members (surely either ----, ------, ----, or ----) wrote a comment to their reviews addressing (bitching is a better term actually) their complaints, so OBVIOUSLY they constantly monitor this site and I would be surprised if it is not one of them, if not all of them, writing and posting all these reviews...VERY unproffessional, in my opinion. Not to mention the 5-star ratings...Oh, and the token kid's one about ---- always helping them with their homework (instead of the kid's parent??? At an apartment complex???)...nice touch... I will keep reading and try to take the reviews with a grain of salt but I have to say that not only is it really annoying to not be able to read the real reviews and having to waste so much time having to filter through the fake ones, but it makes me think twice about moving into a place that feels the need to do so much "damage control" to keep their rating up. And it sucks that I may look over a real, genuine, good review and overlook it thinking that it was one of their office staff's reviews. I am SO not even going to bother going to look at this property because of this, so maybe I SHOULD say THANK YOU ----, ------, ----, and/or ---- for showing your true colors and saving me from making a HUGE mistake!!! Good luck to all.

Nice Apartments
I am undecided if I will be renewing my lease as you never know what to expect 9 months down the road. My family and I really enjoy living at Northlake Park, it is a quiet and safe neighborhood with friendly neighbors.
