me and my husband had to move to atlanta to be closer to our new job locations. we loved how safe and secure this place looked and after looking online could not find anything about it but we were out of time and needed to move quickly so we chose this place and moved in in april 2012. at first we were in love with living here..but once we saw our rent we quickly got over it...our rent was at least $100 more than we were told it would be, we had alot of fees that were never mentioned to us. the office is full of people that are either too stupid to handle their jobs or just dont give a damn about the people living here. we have called the office and the "courtesy officer" a round about total of 30 times in 1 month about a noise complaint from our party-hard neighbors that play their music so loud that it shakes our walls and ceiling making relaxing and sleeping very difficult...every time we go in person to talk to the office about it they always tell us "oh really? we havent recieved any complaints." or "this is the first weve heard of this." and the officer is never on the property the very few times he actually answers the phone....hes always at least 2 hours away. the fire alarms seem to go off at random times so god forbid we actually have a real fire because no one will think its a real fire. just fair warning, if you call the emergency maintanence when your air is out and your apartment is 90 degrees they will make you wait 2 days to get it fixed and wont tell you a time it will be done they just rush you off the phone to not have to deal with the problem...i pray for the end of my lease to come faster, this is one of the worst apartments ive ever lived in.

Ok lets start with the good. The apartment set-up is beautiful. I love the crown molding and the peacefulness (is that a word) at night!! My boyfriend and I got a good location so noise wise is pretty good instead of our downstairs neighbor who likes to boom blast her music like she is in a club, but thank GOD it is only 3 or 4 times a month. Now lets get to the bad. When we moved in our microwave was trashed. Handle was not attached so upon about 4 maintenance calls they got it right. But still not satisfied with the caulked up white stuff they used to apply the handle. Oh lets talk about property up-keeps. First I shall blame this on the property manager because he/she allows this crap. There is constant trash in the garage from the nasty a&& tenants that the grounds-men Im pretty sure are tired of picking up. Maintenance does not work on the weekend so the trash shoot is always overflowing with trash. The pool is horrific. Algy (sp) all throughout the pool and when was the last time the bottom as has been scrubbed. Its brown! Just applying chemicals does not help. This beautiful property is going downhill fast. The pool lights are NEVER on at night. Even the cazibo area is poorly lit up. For this to be such an upscale property it will soon look like it is located off of Bankhead highway minus people hanging out, outside and what not. When we moved into the apartment it was not "move-in ready"!! My fiance does this for a living so of course we will see flaws immediately. Great price, but if they were charging us the actual rent for the apartment I would of faught my way up out of that lease and moved to Buckhead where I can pay the same price but with way more amentities and better upkeep of the property. Now lets talk the heartland bill. Not bad I can expect that. But all that extra stuff you guys are charging and not even keeping the property up to par. Cant wait till the lease is up!!! Would stay here is long as I could if they had a WHOLE NEW team. Maintenance/Leasing agents and all. Oh lets not add how ------ they are. They look all beat up and have the "mad black woman" mentality when you walk in the door, they do not acknowledge you...unless you are a man!! So Sad. So ready to move!

Meh.
So, my husband and I have lived here for almost a year. Our lease is up soon, and we will be leaving. Here are the pros: They really are trying to upgrade the place right now. The gym has new equipment, the garage has new lights. They are trying, but there is still room for improvement. Our apartment is decent, but small. We keep it clean and the appliances have never broken. The maintenance staff is quick to respond to issues that we do have. Here are the cons: They do NOT tell you about the Heartland bill - you will pay for a bundle of cable, trash pickup, and various other "fees" that don't make a lot of sense. Be prepared. The walls are thin, and we have a neighbor that likes a loud TV. People sometimes don't pickup after their dogs - outside, in the hallways, and in the elevator. The USPS delivery man is a moron. He always puts mail in the wrong boxes, and doesn't put a slip in your box if you have a package. We pay much more than we should for a tiny apartment. They say you can pay rent online, but they don't tell you that a $10 fee is charged to do so. People park anywhere they please, so be careful.

Apartments are nice.............
Overall the apartments are very nice, there is a bad problem with dog poop everywhere but you will enjoy your apartment. MANAGEMENT.........this is a issue alone. I will agree with some of the responses they are "HORRIBLE!!!!" Now they will be very nice to you when your are signing your lease however when you do then they got you and they could care less what happens from there. The Connor group needs to stop letting children manage properties when they can't even manage themselves. You will be getting into a property where the residents are (my homegirl or homeboy)and this will be the type of neighbors you have. I must admit when I first moved there it was beautiful but it has gone down.

Shoppers Beware FOR REAL
So I recently visited these apartments to search for a new place to live. I liked the entrance, but as soon as I stepped inside the office, the aura was very negative. Not only did they trash talk the place across the street, but the property looked HORRIBLE. The grounds were full of trash and smelled like dog crap. The apartments were priced the same as the place across the way, but the lady was telling me that the other place was full of crime and accepted section 8. So, despite her trash talk, since I was not impressed at all with her property, I decided to visit village at Northlake (the "bad" property). I was VERY impressed with the property, people in the office, and the residents I saw in the halls. The smell and cleanliness was so nice. (very different from the crap who was talking crap at this property). I haven't made my decision yet, but for all of you who are looking in this area, DON'T LISTEN TO THIS PLACE! They are rude and should look in the mirror. If you are living here now and are looking to move you should. There is SOOO much better out there. Just sayin' from a unbiased point of view, well until now! HA! Don't waste your time. The Village at Northlake is actually really nice and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead and move there if I get the job around the corner. Happy shopping. Sorry for the poor residents who have to deal with the Mean office staff!

Survey
The apartment complex has made some improvements. The lights in the parking garage are wonderful and helps for security. The security doors are a step in the right direction. Keeping the pool clean more often is good. The door on the first floor of the parking garage does not work sometimes and it is an inconvenience to walk up the ramp and around to get to my apartment. The gym needs to be maintained with working equipment. I am concerned with the televison being left on all night, running up the common electric bill for everyone. I do not care for the dog poop and urine left in the hallways.

Amazing Place to Call Home
My wife and I moved into our apartment shortly after getting married and we were looking all around Atlanta to find somewhere to live. We found these great apartments at Northlake. The price was unreal and the apartments themselves are updated and modern with all the features you could hope for!! The staff is so personable and they always remember your name which makes it feel really comfortable. We would recommend these apartments to anyone!!

My Place
I call Heights at Northlake my home. I love the interior design of my apartment. I love the look of the buildings. I am proud to say this is where I live. The grounds are keep good, it could be better if the residents clean behind their pets better. The staff at Heights at Northlake are great, the are professional and friendly. I feel however, they could use more maintenance staff. I hope the rental rate does not go up to much more where I can not longer afford it.

I like it here!!
I have been at Northlake Heights for few months now. I like the floorplans, interiors, the open spaces are well kept and beautiful. The office staff is very helpful and cordial. The maintenance complaints are handled very promptly. Great location and gives an instant access to all the major interstates, close proximity to shopping and northlake mall. The only issue that I have is that the walls are thin and sometimes a neighbors late night party becomes noisy.

Lived here for 5 years! I would like to address management. I have came several times to the front office and not one time has the manager even said as much as said Hello to me. I am so unhappy with the grounds (TRASH EVERYWHERE)dumpster runs over. Thugs walking around and pool stayed so nasty I refused several times to let my grand kids get in. I can count on one hand, in five years the times I have had a complaint prior to the change from The Heights to City North. I completed a couple of request back in July for repairs. Not one time has anyone been there. I did ask to be notified by phone when they would be there to do the repairs. Maybe that is why they chose not to do the repairs. My balcony was half as_ painted by the painters. Tape is still on the storage door knob, and trim is not painted at all.

Average facility
Overall, since I have moved here I have seen management change several times. The social class and standards of the tenants seems to have lowered. While there is nothing remarkable that has kept me living here, it does at least appear to be a safe place to live. It is likely though I will not be renewing my lease after my contract ends. I honestly don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth for the overall environment here

It's sad just how much this complex has gone down since the new management group has taken over. Dog feces on the grounds and on the steps. trash and broken glass in the poorly kept/maintained parking garage. The breeze way is absolutely disgusting. there is spilled drinks, leakage from grabage bags, and trash all in the hallway. The gates are never all working at 100% at the same time and I witnessed someone's car was recently vandalized of all 4 tires and rims. There is also an increase in the number of low-class looking ------(and this is coming from a tenant that is black) that have moved into the area. This used to be a nice complex, catered to young professionals. but it is now starting to look more and more like the projects to me. the name should be changed from City North to Section 8 North Apartments.

I love my apartment
I love my apartment, it is very quiet and I can't hear my neighbors. I regularly see them mopping the hallways and keeping them clean. Parking is adequate in the garage, even though the second gate in the parking garage is a royal pain going in and out and doesn't provide any extra security since people can follow someone in. Other than the pain of the gate and having guests over, I have no complaints about the property. The staff has always been very nice and helpful to me and I have gotten things fixed quickly and correctly. Overall, I love living here.

water and cable TOO HIGH!!!!!
When I first moved in, it was a nice quite complex...but after 3 months I received a letter stating that cable is $100.00a month... billed by the apartments for only internet and cable. which is a Rip Off! Plus my water bill is anywhere from $75-$85 dollars a month depending on how they feel that month ....Plus neighbors dogs awakes you up early...any barks for 20-30 mnutes. Plus, I can hear my next door neighbor when shes on the phone & especially the bathroom!!!...beware rent is $879.00 a month plus utilities with Ga.Power I pay $1154.00 a month which is way too Much...I'm moving.....

Scratch the surface, nasty beneath.
The apartments are nice, but don't be fooled. The grounds look nice, but are often dirty due to lots of littering and/or people not cleaning up after pets. The good news is that people didn't clean up anything and I found a good bit of money in the parking lot as well when walking my dog. Pool area is nice. Gym is undersized. Pool table is a nice touch, but nearly all the cues are broken. Generally the tenants ruin everything nice the apartment tries to do. If your unit doesn't face 285, it might be quiet, but mine had constant noise from the road as well as neighbors stomping upstairs and dogs barking. I did not feel safe here, mostly because of the cars! People fly around the corners not even looking and I was always afraid myself or my dog would get hit. If I had children I'd certainly worry about them too. There was also a lot of crime in the neighborhood, and I gave police officers directions to an apartment on a few occasions when I was outside. Doesn't give you the greatest feeling. Parking and maintenance are about the only things I would give a mark to, there was plenty of space in the garage and it was pretty convenient. And maintenance was always timely and helpful, even though things like my closet bar falling off the wall should never have happened in the first place. The office staff is nice, and helpful, if you don't do anything out of the ordinary. I had to terminate my lease early, and 6 months and $1300 later, the office staff is still presenting me with problems. Promises were not kept, things that should have been done were not. Whole place is profit-driven and will go to any means necessary to screw you out of $1. I hear they take Sec. 8 as well, which might explain why. If you are a cash paying customer, beware!! Not a good value, I didn't know better when I moved in and I wish I had. I am currently renting a 3br house for the same price as my old 1br apartment and am much happier.

Paper Thin Walls & Nasty Halls
If you enjoy smelling Marijuana seeping through the walls while you try and enjoy your afternoon or evening then this may be the place for you! Or if you enjoy looking at pet feces in your hallways or if your neighbors are to lazy to follow the trash schedule and you have to smell their rotten trash for days at a time, then this is definitely the place to be! Now I have heard rumors about them allowing section 8 renters but have yet to verify this but I can tell you that they have certainly upgraded their security to meet the standard requirements and there has been a definite increase of riff raff in the complex....I certainly would not recommend this place as it is in its current condition! Hopefully they will get their complex back to par and make it a wonderful community once again. I say good luck and good bye!

The Connor Group Lies
The heights is an awful place to live. Here is the truth...call dekalb county and ask about the crime in this community!!! The management sucks, the office staff lies big time, they've allowed section 8 vouchers which had totally demises the property. The pool area is nasty, the trash overflows, gates always broken. I wish I would have known what I know now. New residents will see the true colors of the Conner Group. Get out NOW!
