Not Bad!
Been here since March 2011. It's a decent place. I have less problems than other apts. I have lived in. Trash is picked up when said, although some person pick it out on off days. I guess they didn't get the memo. They pressure wash the hallway like twice a month. I have seen grounds people maintaining the grounds once every month, at least I have been here. The downside for most people might be that the walls are thin, but since noise isn't something that bothers me, I don't care much.

I wish I'd never moved here!
My husband and I moved in April thinking we were moving to a nice community, but from the first day it's been nothing but a nightmare. I wish I had paid more attention when we intially looked at the complex, but now that we here I see all sorts of things that should not be seeing how they call this a 'Luxury Community'. First and foremost are the roaches; tons of them. And from there the list goes on-- I've complained about the call box and access entry two times. The main call box is brick with twin caps; both caps are barely on the main structure. It looks as if someone has hit it multiple times. The resident entry has some kind of rigged red brick facade with red dirt thrown in the middle and all that's held together by white wire fencing (yes I said wire fencing). The sad thing is that it's been hit too and some of the red bricks have been thrown in the middle of the red dirt. The garage is FILTHY. People just throw fast food bags, containers, beer bottles/cans, dirty diapers and it takes management DAYS to clean this up. The hallways are disgusting. People allow thier pets to urinate in the halls, cig butts Everywhere...candy wrappers...chip bags. Before I moved in I asked how often they pressure wash the halls and was told at least once a month. BS!!! There are parts of the hallways were kids have either written on the walls or have taken something sharp and scrapped into the paint/drywall. Again, I've reported this and as of today it still has not been repainted. Tiles are missing at the entrances to the elevator. The mailbox center looks as if it'as part of a war zone; some boxes are bent others have what looks like the paint has been scratched off. There's a group of ------ hooligans that hang-out in the office EVERY EVENING; I guess for the pool table and large screen television...I can only image the scene once the pool opens. Although we have valet trash service, the people who gather the trash at night are trifling, too. On any given day you can see trash piled high at the dumpster AND thrown on the ground... you might say "what's the big deal -- it's the dumpster?" well, the dumpster is at the entrance to the parking garage!! It's there not only for you to see but also ALL YOUR GUESTS!!!! The landscapeing is not kept up. I can honestly say after walking around the complex NOT ONE FLOWER/PLANT OR EVEN GRASS SEED has been purchased IN YEARS. There are many decorative planters around the complex, but NONE OF THEM HAVE HAD THE FLOWERS REPLACED -- THEY'RE ALL JUST DIRT!! Some actually have been made into make-shift cig pots! The pool area at first glance is nice.... until you actually visit the pool area. The chairs/loungeRs are old and feel as if they will break at any time. The brick around the pool hasnt been cleaned in YEARS. So for all those reading -- take heed. DO NOT BE FOOLED; PL LOOK FOR SOMETHING BETTER!!! For the $1,250 I pay per month for this hell-hole I should've moved into the NEW complex across the street!!

I love my apartment! The neighbors are friendly, the facility is well kept, maintenance responds immediately and the staff are great! What more could you ask for?

My Opinion has Changed.
Although this could be a really nice place to live there are definitely disppointing issues here. The complex is still much too trashy. The computer/tv room is always full with young kids all night. If an adult wanted to hang in there they wouldn't feel comfortable. Also, I am tired of tenants allowing there pets to do their business in the hallways. I know this isn't managements fault, but it sucks to have to be subjected to watching where I step when walking down the hall. I am also VERY unhappy with Heartland. I have never paid so much money to a company managing the sevices for an apartment complex. Not worth it...so I'm moving. I still believe the staff are very nice and helpful.

Moved in February 2011
I moved into the complex in February. From what I have observed the property is nice but could be much better than it is. My apartment is beautiful and offers lots of space and great views. The leasing office has been wonderful to me but I must admit I do not feel completely safe. The gate is always broken then add the loud parties happening at the pool (alcohol and drugs) and the young adults hanging out in the billiard and computer area. I had a few repairs such as leaky shower head, washer hot water leaking, and ac inoperable but all of the repairs were fixed within 24 hours. The door-to-door trash service was an issue at first as residence would put out trash on non pickup days causing the hallways to smell but the complex quickly put out a reminder notice of pickup days to all residence and there have been no problems since. The Common Services Bill from Heartland Regional was not explained upon move in. I figured it would include water, sewer, and trash removal but not gate fee (especially since it is usually broken), pest control (you see bugs in the hall all the time), admin fee (have no idea what this covers), and common electric fee. I have lived in apartments in 6 states and have never had such a bill before. Recently the Comcast bill was added also. Initially I was miss billed but one call the the Leasing Office and all was corrected. Unfortunately the grounds are not kept clean. I walked out of my apartment one evening to find dog feces. The cleaning crew picked up my trash but left the little gift sitting there. Cigarette butts and trash can be found in the stairways. plus a box has been on the lower roof since I moved in. A suggestion would be to power wash the stairs atleast once a month to remove debris. As I said the property could be a lot better but overall I love my new home. It is close to I-85 and I-285, retail shopping, all types of restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores.

I love being spoiled
I just signed to stay another year because I love being spoiled. I love the elevators and parking garage so that I can aviod ever walking stairs. The guys change out my lightbulbs and fix anything (even if I break it accidentally). I pay my rent online so I harldy go to the office. The place is clean for the most part. They are always having to clean the hallways because some of the people who live here are messy. I dont never hear my neighbors. I like it.

Happy Residents
The apartment has a wonderful staff that is extremely helpful and very caring. The apartments are priced well for their size and have nice storage room and balconies. The only thing that has been of concern is theft and some drug involvement. Although these things occur the environment for the most part feels safe.

Below Average Facilities for the Price
I have been a resident with Northlake Apartments for almost two years. One of my main concern is the additional fees of more than $100 per month that is accessed in addition to the rent. This fee is supposed to cover common electric, water, gate fee, monthly trash fee, and an expensive "processing fee." You may not opt out of any of these fees. The portion of the fees is associated with whether you have a one bed room or a two bedroom regardless of how many tenants live in the apartment. So me being a single person is charge more for the water bill because I live in a 2 bedroom apartment even though I am using less water. The portion of the water bill, common electric and trash, for example is not based on usage but whether you live in a larger apartment. My next concern is that when I called the security officer on duty, they never return the phone call ever days later. Moreover, I have left several messages on the office phone but my calls are NEVER returned. The only way I get my concerns resolved is if I physically visit the leasing office during business hours which is almost impossible due to my work schedule. When I first moved in, they were opened on Sunday; now they are not which reduces the amount of service to both current and prospective tenants. I agree with other tenants who state that Tenniel is always on the phone and ignores you when you come to the office to lodge a complaint. I have no complaints with Cynthia and the other girls in the office are too new for me to form an opinion. Lastly, if your rent is not paid on the first day of the month, there is a $100 late fee. I have never been late for rent and never will be but the thought of there not being any grace period is ludacris. So if one must travel for work for a couple of days that happens to be around the time that rent is due, you will have to make sure that you pay rent before you leave or pay the $100 late fee.

Home Sweet Home My A**!!!
Hey You, Yeah you!! Sitting in front of the computer. Don't do it!! I know it looks nice, especially after you've been apartment hunting for a while now but don't sign that damn lease. This is not the property you want to be living at. Luxury Apartments my foot. First off lets start with the property I got sucked into this apartment by Craiglist the wifi and the coffee was the tactic that got me "NEWS FLASH" their is no coffee and your wifi is off your fellow neighbors not Northlake. Their are a groupl of teenagers who chill in the lobby that smell like weed and liquor, there's constant trash in the hallways leading up to apartments, I'm talking bags and bags. And the front office does nothing about it. You have mulitiple kids running around writing and drawing profane pics and words all on the walls. Its looks like the projects at times seriously. My car has been broken into as well as 5 other residents vehicles in the past 2 months. Your right (break ins)it can happen anywhere but we are supposed to have a "security" officer who's not securing ----. And there not minor break ins I talking about missing windows, tires, and rims off cars not even to mention the lights are always out in the garage which makes it extremely dark... If your looking for sympathy from the front office dont bother. TEnniel can care less about your ---- and makes it known we u want to talk to her that its more important to talk on her phone or act like she doing some work while you wait damn near 15 mins to talk to your majesty.. The only time you will hear from her is if she needs rent or any other payment.. And don't get me started on Cynthia who's SOOOOO ------ and not even worth describing past that point ------!!!!!!!! I know your thinking this is a angry resident who doesn't pay their bills on time blah, blah, blah and thats so not the case I'm an angry resident that doesnt want you to have witness this.. JUst think all this money you spend and its like you live in the hood somewhere. so happy my lease is up in 2011.

Reporting to All major Atlanta News Agencies!
Yes, you read correctly. There are so many problems with this property, so many! They actually have the nerve to BILL US for things they don't even do? Broken door knobs to enter the building. Piss infested elevator! There are so many dead lights on the property (BUT HEARTLAND CHARGES US ANYWAYS)! Broken gate(s), people constantly running over the card reader to enter! What's the Connor Groups fix? Simple! Duct tape, or tie it back up! People this is a business NOT YOUR DAMN HOUSE, just because the office is full of HOOD RATS and Disgusting people, doesn't mean WE THE TENANTS should have to live like it. Piss / spit / vomit filled hallways that NEVER get cleaned (health code violation? YEP), top of the parking garage is used as neighborhood storage. Drug deals ALWAYS happen in the parking garage. No mirrors to see around corners (possible violation) so accidents can happen! SLOW DOWN PEOPLE! Kids running around without parents, broken equipment in the workout room, UNSAFE, have photos and video, sending to press! If somebody was injured due to bad equipment comment! I will provide evidence so you can SUE the Connor Group! There are so many problems. Management only cares about MONEY MONEY. Get the HOOD RATS out of the office and get REAL business people. NEWS FLASH - You don't have to let the HOOD in to make money, RICH PEOPLE HAVE MONEY TOO! EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE PROOF THIS PLACE IS A DUMP, I HAVE PLENTY, BUT THE NEWS STATIONS ASKED FOR AS MUCH AS I CAN GET! PEOPLEVSCONNOR@HOTMAIL.COM

I'm a resident and I love it here
As I'm reading through all of these ill comments, I wonder to myself if these people live here. If you live here and not happy, move. I haven't had any major problems here. Of course there are a few issues, but I sure I would have the same or worst somewhere else. The only major problem I have with this place is the secondary charge from the conner group. Yeah I think it's a rip off, but there's nothing I can do about it. The apartments here are very nice and well maintained.

Don't Rent Here !!!
The staff are nice enough; but will say exactly what you want to hear to get you to rent an apartment. The vistas/landscaping and floor plans are attractive. However, this only masks the fact that this an expensive housing project occupied by certain residents who allow their dogs to urinate on interior walkways. I'm greeted daily by gum, food, and urine along my pathway home. IT IS DEPRESSING!!! The toilets back up regularly and the neighbors can't seem to remember which days are "valet" trash days (leaving trash outside of their doors all weekend). There are unsupervised children in the "lounge," workout room, and sometimes in the parking lot. I have witnessed individuals working on their cars in front of the complex. There was almost a brawl at 1am outside of my apartment on Memorial Day weekend. To top it off, there are gate fees, common electric fees, valet trash fees, etc. I feel that I have been bamboozled. I hope that management will make changes to protect the integrity of the property and the residents who follow the rules. Unfortunately, as it currently stands, I advise that you DON'T RENT HERE!!!

The people in the leasing office are making new reviews to offset the real ones about how awful these apartments really are. Research a bit before moving here...

Its funny that there are 2 new 5.0 ratings
Its funny that there are 2 new 5.0 ratings. The management needs to stop trying to do damage control by making false statements and rating the place a 5 to get the ratings up. This complex is GARBAGE. I was a resident in the Heights in December 2006 when Bldg 12 first opened. I was actually one of the first residents residing in that building. The complex was beautiful. The Worthing staff was amazing. Every first Saturday of the month, a personal chef would come to the clubhouse and cook a themed lunch, gatherings were later held @ the lounge in the Doubletree as a mix and mingle. The maintenance staff responded to issues within minutes of your phone call. Everything was perfect. Worthing made a mistake when they leased apartments to the Le Cordon Bleu students and the property begin to go downhill from there. Once Worthing sold it to the Connor Group, I knew to get the heck away from there because I did a search of other properties in the Metro area that the Connor Group manages and no one had anything nice to say. The went up on water fees and charged ridiculous utilties rates through a company in Ohio (Heartland I think) which is owned by the Connor Group. They begin making residents pay for pest control which was never charged by Worthing. I ended my lease in February 2008 when my lease was up. I am so glad I did b/c friends that remained in the complex due to their leases not being up yet, told me of the horrible break-ins, nasty pool and lack of customer service by the reps never answering the phone. To this day I never received my deposit nor can I get anyone in the office. I just charged it to the game and let them keep the $100 I paid to move in. Im glad to be gone. DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS COMPLEX!!

I Love Northlake
I have lived here for about two years now and my experience here has been nothing but great. The only people that complain is the people that cant afford to live here anyway. I have been here through both management groups and they both have been great to work with. Anytime i need something they always take care of me and I feel like I can always talk to any staff member about any concerns. We should all take care of the place we call home.

Don't have any complaints!
I am going against the grain here and say that my experience at Northlake thus far has been wonderful! The staff is friendly and respond quickly to any questions or maintiance issues I have had. For everyone talking about the old management being "better" I don't know as I just moved in this past September, but the conner group staff has always been very accomodating to me. I had a pipe burst in January in the big freeze and had forgotten to get renters insurance. Needless to say I was mortified and horrified! Not only did they respond quickly to my issues but they moved me to a brand new unit the very next day, and even moved my things for me for free! Above and beyond!

How does the Connor Group stay in business?
I lived here for two years. The first year and a half were with the Worthing Company and then the last six months were with the Connor Group. I have nothing good to say about the Connor Group. They are lying, cheating, stealing slumlords who take more money for less services. The trash was unbelievably awful, the pool was tinged an orange color because they wouldn't clean it, the hallways were filthy and full of dog feces and urine, they charge fees for EVERYTHING you can imagine. Thank God I left when I did because they single handedly ran that property into the ground. I wouldn't let my worst enemy live there.

They are now called residence at NorthLake
Despite the name change, I agree with some of the comments on this site that the apartments are definately lacking security, cleanliness, etc. I am not sure how their background and screening checks are done, but this is neither a safe or luxurious apartment. I am one of the 4 people that have been robbed this past month in this community. Definately reconsider.

This place is a joke. When you call the leasing office, it's almost impossible to get someone on the phone. Even after leaving a voicemail no one calls you back. The staff which is currently taking care of the complex needs to get off their ------ a$$es and do something useful, like fixing the gate or have someone sweep the pollen off of the stairways from last year. Hallways are a mess, piss stains and feeces, vomits and trash all over the place. Each day this comlex goes from bad to worse. Across the courtyard fro mus there is a tennant living with a dog, so lazy he lets his dog pee and poop on the balcony, while the pee is dripping down the balcony onto other balconies below. After contacting the leasing office about this manner 2X, they still haven't do anything about it. It is such a bad stinch on hot days, that we can't even keep our windows open. You can see for yourself with the picture I have attached.
