There's serval qualities that first come to mind for me. Engagement, Ohana vibe, creativity. All of these qualities wouldn't be that if it weren't for the staff, particularly Evalani Exner. My first encounter of her was in observation. I was standing in the office to pickup a gate pass and take a picture for ID. While waiting for assistance, Evalani was assisting another resident. Watching her interaction with her it seemed they were family. The woman was venting about personal struggles and seemed to be having a bad day. Then I realized she was just a resident. Evalani attentively listened and genially cared for the residents issues, suggesting ideas and relating to her concerns. That's great personal engagement. I thought right then, they care. The residence is known for all its fun filled activities. "Eat the Streets" has been an activity in the past. It's a blast! Everyone comes out, we eat many different foods, socialize with our neighbors. During this event in the past, I lost track of time enjoying all the food and talking stories with neighbors that I forgot to get BBQ to bring home. I rushed to the BBQ truck and who is in line in front of me, Evalani and her husband. At this moment I still only knew her as "the nice lady in the office." We stand in line a long time, seemed like forever, but we got to know each other. Long story short. They say we are running out of ribs... Panic!! Evalani lets me order my ribs before her and her husbands to ensure my family had food before hers. That's Ohana.. That's above and beyond for your residents. Im a Senior store manager, I aid in managing 7 fast pace stores in a highly competitive market. I only see what goes on on the outside surface at Kapilina. I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes and I can truly say I trust Evalani to get it done. There's several examples I can carry on about, but bottom line is she exceeds residents expectations and that's rare. I hope this letter helps her in some way for she has helped me so much in my 4yrs of living here.

We have been here for a month now and it has been great! We are in a 4 bed 2.5 bath townhome and the rooms are an ok size. Love that there is a fan in almost every room! I really hate the flooring though. It looks nice but it shows everything! All the dirt and dust because it's so dark. The splash pad and pool are awesome for my little ones. It's not just a lame pad where the water comes up from the ground. My girls can actually play there. And then attached is a playground so they jump back and forth. The pool is saltwater and only goes up to 4ft, which I love because I can walk anywhere in there. It has a spa, little kiddie pool, hammocks, showers, bathrooms, lots of seating, music playing and a bar! You can get alcoholic drinks with food! The ice cream sandwiches are delish. The main downfalls to living here is the location since it is tucked away in the middle of nowhere. It takes 9 minutes just to get out of here. And the other is the planes that fly over all day long. You have to literally stop a conversation til it passes. They are so low that you can see the wheels on the plane are already out. It's loud but I have eventually gotten used to them. It's a great community and I love our decision to move here.

We love living here! We moved in a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The grounds are clean and super close to the beach! The staff are great and Silvia is a rockstar! She was always very responsive during the move in process as well as before we even decided to move in. We highly recommend living here if you're already on the island or moving in!!

Beautiful property. We have only lived here a few days but my first impression is very positive. The move in process was quick and simple, the leasing agents were very kind and helpful. The homes are older military housing so they are somewhat rundown in parts and being Hawaii have many bugs. That said, we are in a very reasonably priced home less than a mile from an open beach that is rarely busy, walking distance to a swimming pool, lagoons, fitness center..,etc. We have an open green yard with plenty of space. The bedrooms are quite small and the master bath in particular is minuscule, but the open layout of the living/dining area more than makes up for it along with the ample storage space. There are some definite quirks, but if you are military looking to experience Hawaii in its glory, I would recommend this location.

I have truly enjoyed being a resident at Kapilina Beach Homes! There is a true sense of community and so many amenities on property at a reasonable price for living on Oahu. The Resident Services staff is friendly and knowledgeable, especially Evalani - she greets me by name and is always quick to assist me with anything I need. Such personalized service makes you feel special, and like you are more than just a resident/tenant on the property.

I have been a resident of Kapilina for 3 year and some months. I truly cant see myself living any other place. My roommates and myself have had the best experience here. We have met awesome people who we consider to be lifelong friends. Our neighbors have always been great, never any issues. Maintenance has always been prompt and courteous. Groundskeepers are friendly, always waving when they see us out and about the community. Evalani is awesome!! She has been nothing but helpful and welcoming! Our interactions with her have been pleasant, again it feels like we have made some pretty cool friends here! I love watching the ships come in and out of Pearl Harbor. Airplane noise can get loud during flight training but what do you expect when you live at the mouth of Pearl Harbor. Dlish, beach cafe in the community provides great food and entertainment Friday evenings though Sunday afternoon. This has become a tradition for our household and where we met our friends. Gym is as good as it gets when it comes to community gyms. I work at a gym but often use the one in the community. It has pretty much everything you need.

We love living here. The amenities are great and we have an awesome beach with a great view. Our resident services staff is top notch especially Evalani. She's my go to person when I need help with anything. She's always kind and willing to help. Overall this place is great.

I love this community for a million reasons. The beach, the parks, the pool, the fitness center, the farmers market, the business center, the school, the splash pad and other events are all within walking distance. There are community events (at least monthly) or services (daily of some sort) offered from Food Trucks, to Movies on the Beach, to holiday celebrations, to yoga to hula lessons, to painting parties and bunco. This place is pet-friendly and if your dog gets out, residents will take him/her in until the owner is found or house in a kennel thats on the community. Resident services even as a chip reader to help get a pet back to her owner. The community itself is very inclusive and friendly and through different facebook pages specific for Kapilina residents, people set up events such as play dates, game nights, hikes, etc...On these same pages residents offer services like dog-sitting/grooming, transportation, hair services, babysitting, photography, handyman services, and so much more. And lastly, the staff is wonderful! They are friendly and very helpful. Evalani in particular has been an enormous help when I have questions or concerns, she does not rush me or act like she needs to get to other more important things (though I'm sure she is super busy) and she treats me (and others) with kindness, concern and humor. I think it says a lot about someone when they respond to a concern with, "I would hate that too if..." That's how Evalani responds to resident concerns and then proceeds to help them. Yes, this place has it's issues as all communities do - noise from planes, things break down, bugs and rodents show up too but without hesitation I would recommend this community to EVERYONE.

We have been at 6049 Marina Drive for for 3 1/2 years, there has been so many improvements which we are grateful for and the staff are friendly and courteous, especially Evalani Exner. Whilst I rated noise and neighborhood 3 stars I understand it is where we are, despite that I love where we live and the view. I do not like the centralized calling system for maintenance (most of the the time they cannot help) would like to go back to maintenance calling with a time so you know when to be home.

Aloha my name is Anthony Bartholomew. I live at 6305 Ibis Avenue. Before that I lived at 6733 B 108th Street. I have been a resident for over 12 years. A lot has changed over the past 12 years all of it for the better.(well everything but the rent increase. Nobody likes those ) :-) everything from the beach renovation project to the new pool and Rec Center make living here a great place. The two ladies that I deal with most are Kathy and Evalani. I very rarely have to go to the front office maybe once or twice a year at most. And they always recognize me by name. And they always make me feel like I'm the most important president. I have nothing but great things to say about all of your staff. But these two ladies in particular always take care of all of my needs. And unless a great deal fall in my lap the opportunity arises for me to buy my own home. I plan on being a resident for many more years. And that is in no small part attributed to the service I get from your staff.

A great place to stay! They is always something to do here from the gym to the beach. Evalani is always helpful when I need questions answered or need assistance from residential services. The maintenance is well taken care of here on a weekly basis. This is one of the best kept neighborhoods i lived in. I would recommend them to everyone I know.

I love this place! From when my wife and I walked in we were greeted nicely by Rachel Ventura who sat us down and asked us what we're looking for. After a few questions we were off to tour the neighborhood, and let me tell you the amenities are dope! You can enjoy a 24 hour gym, pool and bar for the family and a beach to go along with it! The house was everything the wife and I wanted 3 bed 2 bath with washer and dryer along with the amenities, plus if there's an issue that requires maintenance they usually come to the house to resolve the problem within a day or two. Uninhabitable community. Condemnable structure. Egregious management. Hell on Earth I cannot list the countless things that are dangerous and unacceptable at this community. From things that are missing (bathroom mirror for a month), paint man the floors, paint falling off, doors in the kitchen falling off, infestations, flooding from eroding pipes, spickets that crumble, 12+ outages (one 36+ hours)

This is an amazing community, it has everything from schools to an amazing beach. It even has a very impresssive gym. There's always stuff going on like farmers markets or family events during holidays, there's nothing more you could ask for.

We LOVE our Kapilina Community. Kapilina is home to monk seals, sea turtles, manta ray, eels, and abundant wildlife in the lagoons, oceans, and trees. The beach view of the city and Diamond Head is the best on this side of the island! The maintenance team here is efficient and always addressing my requests in a timely manner. The office staff and managers are always available and happy to lend a helping hand. Kapilina has what is called "resident services" which is basically a team of staff and managers that will assist you with ANY and EVERYthing. They are like family and truly reflect the Ohana Spirit. There is always something going on and the community hosts family friendly events every month. There is an activities calendar with things for the children, adults, and entire family! The community is gated with Security always on patrol and available 24/7. The homes are older, but most have been fully renovated with updated kitchens, appliances, flooring, and hardwares. If anything needs to be fixed the maintenance team promptly resolves the issue. There is a landscaping crew so my husband no longer has the task of yardwork, which allows us to enjoy the wonderful perks of the neighborhood. My daughter loves the splash pad (I take advantage of the lap pool and hot tub). We have met some amazing neighbors and we feel very fortunate to call this place our home.

Overall a great place to live. Some hiccups with maintenance but it was all sorted out in the end. For the quality of the community and the size of the properties, you can't beat the price. Recently, a concert limited how many passes per household I was allowed to have but, Evalani came through in the clutch to get me a few extra so I could throw my party.

We love this community because it has everything that we wanted for our move to Hawaii. Close to the beach, secure, gated entry, farmer's market, and amazing staff. Liza Maddox in particular has been a huge help to us. If you are looking for a safe place to live with amazing amenities and staff, then Kapilina is the place for you!

We've been here for over 8 years now, and it has changed big time. They have done some cool renovations for all the families, so that's kind of cool. Neighbors are great, staff is very friendly, and everything runs smoothly. It is very safe place to live, knowing that we have security 24/7 at the front gate, and driving around. There's an elementary school also in the community, which is awesome. Awesome living, you have access to about everything for free if your a resident. The only downfall is that every year the rent goes up, which is understandable. However, my family and I have been here for 10 years going, so you do the math, esp because were living a 4 bedroom =) What can I say, we love living here, as you can tell the years. So it's definitely a blessing so live in this gated community. Were still here, and going ......

I hate writing reviews, but this time I am making an exception. As such, provided is a play-by-play review of Evalani Exner and the Kapilina Beach Homes (KBH) property. Customer service. Overwhelmingly, KBH employees provide superior customer service; however, Evalani Exner, repeatedly, goes beyond the call of duty to guarantee customer satisfaction. Last December, for example, the exterminator did not show up at the predetermined time. To calm my anxiety, Evalani went through many sources (after regular business hours) to gain a response pleasing to me. Promote her! Living at Kapilina Beach Homes. Residing at KBH is like living at a 5-star, All-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico. This observation is based on my personal experience vacationing there years ago with my family. It was amazing! Amenities. Their state-of-the-art, newly built community center is unmatched. The pool, with jacuzzi, operates from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. The attached gym operates 24/7s. My soon to be neighbors, the gym is magnificent! The property’s beachline is to-die-for. You can lose yourself in the radiance of the ocean, sun, mountains, and stars. For dog owners, KBH recently built a phenomenal dog park for man’s best friend. You got to see this; it is over the top. Security. Peace of mind. 24/7s gated security. I have been a tenant here for the past six years with no knowledge of any dangerous criminal activity occurring on the property. Knock on wood! Yacht Club. I do not own a yacht, but one is on the property. Fishing. If you love fishing, like me, this is the place to live. Yummy! Elementary School. The elementary school is located on the property. Can you believe it? Each morning, my son walks 75 yards, from our doorsteps, into his classroom. Military Mini-mart. To military folks, both active and retirees, the mini-mart (with a gas station) is located across the street from the elementary school. Surrounding Environment. A top-notch golf course is attached to the property. There are many other golf courses within proximity to KBH. Barbers Point military golf course is about three miles from KBH. I am a golfer and retired military, so this a big deal. These golf courses are not affiliated with KBH, however. There are three malls and shopping centers located within a 3-to-5-mile radius of the property. Also, for those who love to eat at Applebee’s, like my family, one is located within 2-miles of KBH. It is difficult to find great customer service on this island however Evalani has made up for it. My interaction with her at “Resident Services” far exceeded any customer service I have encountered. She was pleasant, informative and helpful. She represented Kapilina very well and with a smile. Thank you Evalani!
