dkling staff impress me with their hospitable manners and welcoming smiles. I've come here after living 17 years in 860 De Witt, so I come feeling uprooted from a place until the new owners instituted new practices such as closing down storage lockers, eliminating 24/7 door/receptionist service, and re-configuring the apartments to a building whose management enjoys a good reputation. My concern, however, was whether the good reputation would constitute the environment required to make 1350 my home. I feel that the staff has uniformly extended itself in a professional manner to help make my move-in as painless as possible. I can't help smiling at the little touches that make living here pleasant: sliding doors to the lobby which the receptionist invariably opens as a resident approaches; Freshly brewed Starbucks coffee available Monday - Friday; a choice of living in a building with or without pets; a non-smoking complex; and easy access to the CTA.

I've really enjoyed living at the 1360 building. The staff are all very professional and courteous. The building amenities (the commissary, dry cleaning, bike room) are a huge bonus. I'm very pleased with how this building is managed. Maintenance requests are promptly completed. There are great resident social events. Overall a great living experience. The only opportunity for improvement would be updating the apartment units (which they may be doing - I'm not sure). Kitchen appliances and cabinets are outdated (but it's not uncommon to find that in the area).

I've really enjoyed my experience in 1350. I've suggested the building to many of my friends and extended my lease for another year. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the amenities are fantastic. I also really enjoy all of the events they host and wish there were more. Also, bring back Fooda!

so far i love the area and the building. The door staff is extremely friendly as is the parking staff. The neighborhood is one of the nicest and cleanest in town and close to everything. Commissary has just about any last minute item you could need.

It's all been very positive, from tenant parties to excellent door staff to dog-friendliness. Only complaints are old plumbing, carpet in a dog-friendly building (terrible idea) and gross laundry room with frequently broken machines.

It's been a great experience, despite the fact that my work requests have gone without response or completion. It's very disappointing considering a small issue I asked about when I moved in was completed immediately, yet since then more dire ones have not been addressed.

Positive - Positive staff and Management. Comfortable living in a City environment. This is my home, not an a go-between. Very comfortable in every aspect on this community living environment. Great benefit as well is the care taken of the building, not just in esthetics.

I chose 1350 because I knew someone who lived there and told myself I would like to live in this location. Close to transportation, shopping, night life, etc. Commissary is so important to this property. Cleaners is great as well. Door folks are wonderful.

2 years here. Love it for price, location, staff, convenience. In the winter you don't want to have to walk for blocks for groceries. The dry cleaners is terrific for cleaning and tailoring. View is the selling point- the inspiration of the vast body of water is reason enough to choose this building. Completely safe and as a single female was cared for and looked after by door staff. 100% thumbs up!!

The management staff are very nice and responsive. Whenever I have any problem related to my apartment, the office staff were very responsive to that. The maintenance workers are not that good, but acceptable. I would recommend my friends to rent here.

Wish it was better. Wish they cleaned up after the dogs. Wish they had a lost and found instead of throwing things away they find. Wish the management didn't decide to use jackhammers as quick as the rest of us use pens. Wish the yard was cleaned up after the dogs so we don't have to constantly spot dog poo all over.

I have been living in 1350/1360 since Winter of 2010. I never thought I could afford a lakefront building in the GC, but with 1350/1360 pricing, I was able to live here for 3 years. I truly have nothing bad to say about the building or the apartments. The staff (from the door staff, maintenance staff, leasing and management staff) all provide topnotch service and make it feel like home. I would continue to live in this building, but I'm moving out west.

This is an old building, built in the 1950's. I live in the 1360 building and I have been living there for 1 year. The problem that I have with this building is that their customer service is terrible. I even contacted the building management and got nowhere. Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm, there is always a lot of noise (construction related noise). I can understand repairs and emergency repairs. But our neighbor above us is doing his own wood shop hobby or it might be his living. Because he does it constantly, even 10PM at nights or sometimes on weekends. And yes, I have called concierge, management, etc. Management doesn't seem to care. I pay my rent on time, when the total amount is available, check will be sent. I am not building anything that will cause noise issues with my neighbors. And yet, I guess it's okay for them to ignore tenants like me when I let them know of any noise problems. Parking is $240 and most of that are taxes, so it's not like they're over charging you. Laundry room is frustrating. Because they're all maytag brands, they tend to not work more frequently than not. One time it was 2 weeks of I believe only 2 washers that were working! Oh and the machine steals your money, you will not be refunded. In the colder months, you cannot adjust the heat. And it gets extremely hot. They have an engineer in which will look at the time before 10am ends and sets the whole building to either have air or heat. There are no choices for tenants. That marketing part is a lie! Also, you cannot adjust on how hot or not so hot the heat is. You endure this extensive heat! Their maintenance works 8 or 9am-5pm (Mon-Fri) before or after those days and hours, only 1 maintenance person is around. This person will be the maintenance person for 2 buildings! There is a front desk manager called James and there have been occasions in which he is on the phone with his gf and did not put in our work order. We waited 2 hours and the maintenance guy said he was just told 5 minutes ago!! OMG! From being a really good tenant, to renew the lease they have increased it to $61. I think it's a low blow. Why add extra money? I would understand if I have made late payments on rent. But that never happened! Good parts, this place is pet friendly. There is a private dog park and dog run. The neighborhood is very safe and when unit related items are broken, they will be fixed. However, it depends on when you call it in to get it fixed or replaced.

PROS: Nice place, in front of the lake, close to michigan avenue 151 bus stops in front of the building Spacious apartments Laundry room with enough washer and dryers Efficient and friendly doorstaff. CONS: NOISY!!! Lake shore drive's noise is really a pain, especially during sunny days with motorcycles thinking they're in a race. Noisy days and nights, with the continuous flow of cars, even with closed windows. Difficult to stay concentrated to work, or to sleep early. Higher apartments or apartments not facing the road maybe less noisy. But don't believe the leasing office if they tell you that it is well insulated. Check yourself when visiting the apartment. If your neighbors have a dog, you can hear it barking for each movement in the hall. If they like music, you'll have to like their music too. If they're active during the night... well... hope you're not single. Prices are expensive for what we have, around $1700 with amenities for a 1BR No in unit washer/dryer. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this building, unless you verified if your apartment won't be noisy.

I have been living in 1350 for a year now and don't see myself moving for quite some time. The staff is wonderful and the amenities are hard to beat. The roof deck has been re-done and boasts spectacular views of the lake and city, not to mention wonderful furniture and BBQ's. The apartments are clean and spacious, many with a lake view. The laundry room is on the 21st floor, rather than a dingy basement, with plenty of machines. Another one of my favorite amenities are the storage units on the 21st floors, which can be rented monthly. Living in an apartment it is hard to fit everything inside, so it's great to get some stuff out and in storage that is easy to access. Other great amenities include the dry cleaner, convenience store, and business center. The staff in the office and at the front desk are always extremely friendly and happy to help. A sense of community comes from the variety of events hosted throughout the year. All in all, for the location and price I don't think that you will find anything better!

I LOVE living here! Where do I even begin! My husband and I moved here at the end of last summer and it was important to us that we live somewhere safe because he travels often and he wanted to know that I was safe while he was away. Not only do I feel safe in this neighborhood enough that I don't hesitate to take my dog out in the middle of the night. But the door staff is so sweet they keep an eye out for me when I do take her out late at night, just in case. It is very reassuring to know someone has your back on the odd chance something were to happen. Another thing I love is the sense of community in the building. The tenants (for the most part) are very friendly. And the building hosts all sorts of things to bring the community together. An occasional FREE grab and go breakfast, a Christmas party, Halloween treats, and daily free cup of coffee in the morning! I moved from a VERY LARGE 2 bedroom apartment in river west into a studio here at 1350/60 N Lake Shore. I was worried that going from such a large space into such a small space it would be a bit claustrophobic, but its not at all!!! I love the way the studios are broken up to have a kitchenette and the closet area has space for changing and getting ready. I feel it is the perfect space for my lifestyle right now. I could go on and on about all the GLORIOUS things here; the staff, the mini grocery store in the building, the cleaners, the dog park, the parties they throw, the rooftop, THE VIEW!!! (its worth moving in alone!), and the location. However I am sure you didn't want to read a book on the place. But if you are looking for a recommendation on where your next place to live will be, well My husband, Myself and even My Dog "HIGHLY" recommend 1350/60 N Lake Shore we love it here!!!! Hope to meet you as my neighbor soon!

Reading other reviews (negative ones), I chuckle. I've lived here almost 15 years and feel like I have seen it all. Let me start by saying before I moved back to Chicago, I decided that this was the place I wanted to live. I had passed by here for years and had never even been inside. The location is remarkable. You are close to Lincoln Park and the "beach" (or concrete on the Lake)--I can see Lake Michigan and the Park from my small apartment. Once I saw the place, I was hooked. People ask me all the time, why haven't you moved? Bought somewhere? Gone to a bigger place? All fair questions. My response is: Now, as it is just me, I don't need a large place (my large studio is remarkably spacious--in NYC or SF this would be huge) and my views are killer. And the rent is about par for the location. You just don't find rentals in this neighborhood (unless you live across the street where the apartments and management are much weaker--but old--and some have condo owners, not good). The amenities, having grown up in the city, are fantastic. There is something of a community here, but it is what you make it. One tower allows dogs and the other doesn't. The population of the building turns over fairly quickly (or so it seems) with a lot of young professionals with dogs. Most are really good folks. There is also a large population of people who have lived here a long time. Living in Chicago and having a dry cleaners (who are the nicest couple you'd ever meet) and small grocery store (George and his team are wonderful and always remember you) is beyond helpful. I don't have a car (so I can't speak fairly about parking) and these two services alone make living here worth it. And the location is great without a car. Even in the cold, I can walk to work, the park, the beach, downtown. The only bus service is the 151 (it is one step away). However the 22/36 is a few blocks west and the Red Line is about 10 minutes (an easy commute). If you are really up for a good walk, the Brown Line is about 4/5 of a mile. And the door people will get you a cab anytime. Which brings me to probably the best part of living here. The people who work here. It isn't just the market and the cleaners. Draper and Kramer has been a excellent company to work with. They are fair and very flexible. Now, considering it is a big company, you might have rules people don't like. That's life right? If you look beyond simple announcements, you see the people who write them. The management office and leasing office are great face to face. They are responsive via email and phone. They recently painted my apartment, put in new carpeting, and put in some newer appliances all at no cost. My dreams of a washer dryer aren't possible, but they will do just about anything else. The maintenance is remarkable. After a recent flood, the team literally spent hours with me helping me bail out. Some of the guys have been here since I moved in. They are kind, patient, and don't ever do a half-hearted job. Finally, the door staff. They are top notch in both buildings (some do time in both buildings). Some of the door people have been promoted through the ranks which is wonderful and gives great comfort as you trust the people in charge. Some of the faces have been here for years and you really can (assuming you are smart enough to) a warm relationship with them. It is very rare that someone isn't good. On the very rare occasion the person isn't working out? The office will listen to your issues and take care of it fairly. They are very responsive. In the end, knowing you can trust the staff at all hours make me feel very worth renting over buying. What else? Oh many things. But, I'll summarize. The conditions of the apartments are quite good for a building from the 1950s. They replaced all the elevators (well worth waiting for) and they are super fast. They fixing the deck on the 1360 roof a year late, which is fine. It's being done. People seem to like the dog park. I'm glad I don't live above it, but that's me. I'm allergic to dogs, but they never are an issue. The laundry room can be checked on your computer to see what's available before schlepping upstairs. They can text you when your laundry is done. It isn't ideal, but you can watch TV comfortably while you wait in the rooms. Storage is good, if you can get a space. Whether you are here for a year or decades, it is great. Recently, I was at an upscale store downtown buying something and the manager of the store was ringing me up. She saw my address and immediately (this is entirely true) gave me a high five before I knew why. She told me she lived in the building (as did several friends of her) for a few years and loved it. She lived two floors down. We compared notes on our favorite doorman and other folks. She asked how they were doing. Here was someone who lived in the place for 3 years, moved out a few years ago, and remembered it very fondly. And the names of all the people here. That's a successful building. Whether you are a keep to your self type or get to know the neighbors type, you will be happy.

I have lived in the buidling for 3 years and have had a wonderful experience. Throughout my time there, the building has continually made improvements to make this truely an elite building in Chicago. The units are spacious and updated. The views of the city, lake and navy pier are spectacular and the rooftop is second to none. In addition, the store on the main floor is such a convenience. It truly has everything you could imagine. Overall, I will miss the building, there are great people and its a great place to live!
