The unit sizes at Grand Plaza are amazing! You definitely get good space for price. The location is also great - right on top of the Jewel Osco, minutes away from Michigan Ave, etc. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. Huge balconies, washer/dryer in unit and an amazing view!

I love the community here, in the short 5 Months everyone has been extremely helpful and welcoming. A few plumbing problems I noticed were quickly and efficiently taken care of (within the hour of my request). Patio area and pool is a major plus.

River north use to be a very safe and fun area. With the last few years it hasn't been as safe. I've been in this area since 2003, one of the first tenants at the Grand Plaza. Safety is definitely an issue now.

I love this community and the people in it. Management has always been excellent, genuine and helpful. It is the best apartment in the city of Chicago to have a dog, as the dog park is huge and perfect for dogs of all sizes.

The Grand Plaza community is nice and quaint. I've enjoyed living with the neighbors in my short time here, however the area has experienced a fair amount of crime in the recent year that does not get mainstream media attention because it is in a nicer area. The blocks south of Grand Plaza from State and Dearborn Grand and Kinzie just do not feel safe when the sun is down.

Great place to live! Very well managed and Maintained excellently! Beautiful pool and deck area! Health club offers a wide variety of equipment. Great location as it is closed to public transportation and walkable to many places.

We love the apartment lay out, it's prefect for us. Also, the location is very convenient. The staff and maintenance crew are always kind and helpful. The negative is the crime in the area and stepping over homeless folks lying on the ground to go to the grocery. The noise level is so great that we can't hear our TV in the evenings. On weekends, the noise lasts until 4:00am.

I moved in this past weekend and the building is great! Halli from the leasing office was awesome and helped with every step of the leasing and move-in process. As someone new to downtown Chicago living, I had lots of questions. She was very accessible and answered all of them quickly. The level of service was beyond expectations, especially for a building with so many residents. The maintenance team went out of their way to help us with moving boxes and furniture and made the actual move far easier than we were anticipating. The building location, amenities, and team couldn't be better. I'd recommend Grand Plaza to anyone looking for a fun building in the heart of River North!

The location of this building can't be better. It is the center of river north, steps from the redline, and right by tons of bars/restaurants. The building is nice with great amenities, however they can get very crowded at times.

We moved in two weeks ago and have been very pleased with our choice to live at Grand Plaza! The building location is great and so close to so much shopping, restaurants, and bars. The building's staff is also so professional, friendly and helpful. Especially Halli, our leasing agent, was very accessible and accommodating. She answered all of our questions or concerns very quickly. I would definitely recommend Grand Plaza to anyone new to the city. It is an awesome community and the units have fantastic layouts and fresh new finishes.

Just moved in and Grand Plaza has already exceeded our very high expectations. The amenities are top notch and the unit itself is updated, very spacious and has tons of natural light. Halli made the whole leasing/moving in process very easy for us and we are beyond satisfied with everything so far.

Grand Plaza has largely been a disappointment so far. There have been 3 major issues that have we have experienced. First, we were given a great concession at the time of signing which included 3 months free rent. We were told we would still be able to pay rent during those free months so that over our entire lease, we would be paying a prorated amount each month. In between signing the lease and moving in, we were informed that this would no longer be allowed. I understand that this may be a Chicago law, but the point is that we were informed we would be able to pay rent a certain way, and now we can't, which really messed up with our budgeting. Second, there was a shooting in the garage of the building recently. Again, I understand that this is out of Grand Plaza management's hands, but it just goes to show what kind of area this building is in. And real estate is all about location, and having a location that is susceptible to gun violence is unfortunate. Third, one of our major reasons for signing with Grand Plaza was that there was parking in the building. Recently, we have been notified that the parking garage will be undergoing maintenance, so our cars will now need to be parked 3 blocks away. I don't feel safe having my girlfriend walk from the new parking garage to Grand Plaza at night, especially in an area that is evidently prone to gun violence. Being in the construction industry, I understand that construction is necessary and helpful, but I also understand that construction takes a lot of planning, so this maintenance project was probably known before we signed our lease, but we were not made aware of this. And of course, there will be no concessions for the 2+ months our cars will be parked 3 blocks away. I will say that the amenities are great and Halli was super helpful in answering all our questions early on.

Great location, great amenities package and the interior of the apartments are well kept/are cleaned before move in. I recently moved in but so far my impression is that I have made a wise decision to move here. I was surprised at the low level of noise given that it is in a busy part of the city. With respect to the leasing/property management staff, Halli is smart, professional, efficient, and she ensured I had a pleasant experience applying/moving in. My family and I have lived at Grand Plaza for over 8 years and have occupied 4 different apartments as our needs have changed. We LOVE all the amenities such as the pool, gym and dog park. The staff at GP are really great and handle any maintenance requests within hours. It was a rough last year to live in River North, but the building and staff always did a great job to accommodate all our needs as the situation evolved. We are excited and looking forward to things opening up and returning to a more normal environment.

The amenities are absolutely amazing. The only negative was not knowing the floors in the unit were slanted until a week before when we got to see the finished unit I was going to be moving into. Other than that living at the grand plaza has been amazing!

I worked with Halli S. to secure my apartment at Grand Plaza. She was a pleasure to work with as she provided guidance, reminders, flexibility, timely responses and overall has a great attitude which is hard to find at some of these large management companies. The front door staff had my keys ready for me upon my arrival and helped me with some of the smaller items I had with me at the time. This building has all of the amenities you would find at super luxury building in River North but on a much bigger scale and you can actually find a grill to use or a spot at the pool. The residents are very friendly and the vibe is not stuffy at all. My personal favorite amenity has been the dog park, it's the largest I've seen in the area, the maintenance team keeps it clean and the other pet owners are great about keeping a close eye on their dog. Highly recommend this building for dog owners.
