Every one is very friendly. I feel like I actually live in a neighborhood. I visited a few apartments with a dog park and Grand Plaza was the one I liked the best. I like when they have social times with residents.

Building has great amenities and staff; perfect location with all what you should need close proximity ranging from transportation, food, groceries, restaurants and night life, and shopping. The only issue is the internet - as that can be spotty at times.

As beautiful as the website suggested. The apartments are spacious with lots of storage area, and all the appliances are practically brand new and state of the art. The staff is extremely accommodating, and the community facilities are top notch.

Great location and the door staff and maintenance staff are great. Everything is literally right outside the front door. The only negative is sometimes on the weekend the smell of smoke and pot can be overwhelming.

I can honestly say, Grand Plaza is by far the best apartment and community I have lived in by a landslide. The studio is incredibly spatious, kitchen is fantastic gas stove and all new appliances. This studio is bigger than most of the one bedrooms I have lived in. Obviously you hear the sirens like anywhere in the city, but the doors and windows cut out so much noise. Not to mention the walls are beyond sound proof. My dog used to bark and howl like CRAZY as a puppy when we first moved in. I was sure everyone could hear him. Turns out my neighbors didn't even know I had a dog because the walls are so soundproof. The staff is also incredible. Not only is everyone friendly and loving, but they really go the extra mile to help you out and make your day. Pierre at the front desk always greets my dog with a dog treat and lots of love. The maintenance staff I swear appear the second I submit a request. And they don't just solve the problem, they make sure it will never happen again. Shower making a funny noise? Replaced it. Toilet not flushing correctly, replaced it. Washer dryer not functioning properly, brand new one before you're even home from work. As far as the community and environment, living here less than a year, I've met some of my best friends in the city here. Everyone is so friendly and kind, you'd have to try hard not to get along with the people here. The community is also incredibly safe, which is huge factor for me. Being a single woman living alone in the city, I have never felt more safe. Its also such a convenient location. Jewel is right downstairs, which is so convenient when you forget an ingredient cooking. Tons of restaurants and shopping centers a matter of blocks away. Movie theatre right down the street. I have a car, but never have to use it because of the el stop right outside and everything being so close. Over all I can not recommend this place enough. Very happy with my experience living at Grand Plaza.

Being an expat in a foreign, I was placed in the Loop and every day I went back to my 'residence' I just wanted to go 'home' more and more. Several people at work recommended GP as a great building with a great vibe and opportunity to integrate into my new environment / city. It was worth the move and I am not moving again - now, when I leave work, I go home.... Besides the obvious location, access to shops and public transport (and the River North nightlife I might add) the amenities and so on, the building is just a great community of people. An average summers day at the pool could be a ticketed event and GP has just done a fantastic job at turning a building with a number of people living next-door to one another into a community of people. My colleagues were right, it is a great building to integrate into the city - but they were wrong if they assumed it was only the first step of integrating into the city - it is the last step too.

I've lived in Grand Plaza for 2 and a half years now and living here has been great. I honestly do not think there is any apartment building with a better location than Grand Plaza. You have the red line literally in the same block, a Jewel-Osco, which has been recently renovated and has now a fine bakery and a salad bar like Whole Foods. Also, there are tons of restaurants, bars, stores, etc. just a few blocks away, like Eataly, Nordstrom, etc. Another great thing about Grand Plaza is the people who work here. The people at the door (Everett, Carmen, etc.) are just the nicest, always greeting us and always there for us. This is important because you see them every day on your way out and back in and your guests talk to them and it just makes everything easier. Then at the leasing office I've dealt with very nice women as well. Kelli and Karen are both great and so helpful! Meet with them if you are interested in living here. The amenities are among the best I've seen in apartment buildings, comparing it to where my friends live. The gym has everything and they offer free yoga classes. There is a running track and a basketball court. The library/study room is also a nice space. With huge computers (new), free WIFI, free Starbucks coffee, printer/scanner and many different seating configurations. I've seen people with tutors studying in the tables, fathers with kids reading near the fire place, I've studied there many times and I think it's great. There is also a party room with a huge TV, a pool table and I've had friends come over many times and they all love that space. The pool is SO nice in the summer-time, and they host events EVERY Thursday, with free Rock Bottom brewery beer and food from different restaurants near by like Weber Grill. All my friends love these Thursdays and the pool deck. We have had BBQs here in the grills and it is just a lot of fun. You literally have EVERYTHING here. They just changed all the carpets, ceiling lights, wallpapers and signs in the residential corridors. They just made renovations to the facade as well. They just changed the furniture in the entrance. Added a dog treat jar. Renovated the guest suites (which I have rented three times for family visiting, they are fully furnished apartments that have full kitchen, washer dryer, etc.) Bottom line, I definitely recommend Grand Plaza, I have been very happy here.

I have been a resident at the Grand Plaza since 2009. I left for a brief time in 2013 and returned in early 2014. This building is wonderful and I consider it home. I returned to sign a new lease because of the staff, amenities, security and the location of the building. All of the staff, including the door staff, leasing group, building maintenance, and management are attentive, professional and extremely friendly. My apartment is fantastic and the perfect fit for a downtown lifestyle. The in unit washer and dryer are the best. I am steps away from the Red Line as well as shopping, restaurants, parks and museums. The pool and garden area on the 9th floor are a great getaway during the summer months. The workout room, business center and club lounge are modern and welcoming. Maintenance requests are handled in a timely and professional manner. The common areas were just remodeled with new lighting fixtures, wallpaper, paint and carpeting. There are numerous activities that the building hosts during the year and these events are thoroughly enjoyed by the residents. I highly recommend the Grand Plaza!

Grand Plaza has been my home for just 3 months now and it could not have been a smoother transition. The leasing office is very welcoming and attentive, the door staff and maintenance crew are responsive and friendly. I couldn't ask for a better group to manage the building! I live in a Studio and it is very spacious and includes a huge walk in closet as well as two large additional closets. The kitchen is well equipped with space and appliances. The best part about this building is the location! All I have to do is take the elevator to reach not only Jewel (grocery store) but also Bed, Bath and Beyond. We are located right in the center of the city, steps to anything and everything!

I have been at Grand Plaza for the last year and it has been one of the best properties I have lived at. This is our first one in the city vs the suburbs, and it has far exceeded our expecations PROS: - Location, location, location: next door to the Red Line, near multiple bus stops, few shorts blocks from Michigan Ave, so many bars/restaurants/shops near by in River North. Never bored! - Convenience: drycleaning on-site (although a bit pricey, but hey, its in the building!), Jewel on first floor, Bed Bath on the 2nd, Chipotle right next door (there have been days during the Polar Vortex where we didn't leave the block!) - Views/Balcony: balcony is HUGE and provides an excellent way to entertain guests with insane views - Ammenities: laundry in unit, available monthly parking, pool, gym, basketball court, club room (with a sweet new 80") - Staff/events: leasing and management staff very friendly and helpful; experience with maintenance has been minimal, but have seen new faces and other neighbors say its a breath of fresh air; LOVE the weekly events that the staff puts on CONS: - Can be noisy sometimes. Not from other neighbors, but just the noise that comes from the River North area (building is a few blocks from the fire station, so the occasional siren in the middle night - you get used to it quick, though) - Door staff could be friendlier. There are a few that always say hi and know me by name, but there a few others that could use a little coaching Overall a fantastic property. Would recommend highly to a friend.

I moved into the Grand Plaza two months ago. Leasing office and management have been exceptional in their customer service. The Grand Plaza is clean, the staff are helpful, and the location is perfect. The Red Line Grand Street stop is on the corner, there is a Jewel and Bed/Bath Beyond in the same building, and easy walking distance to the loop and the Lake. I highly recommend the Grand Plaza.

I have been at Grand Plaza for over 5 years and love it here. I have a large one bedroom with a good sized balcony space. My view is open and the Jewel downstairs is so convenient. One thing I will say is that the gym could use some tlc but I love the variety of equipment and the yoga class is free twice a week.

I have been renting condos at Grand Plaza, Chicago for 5 years. The community at Grand Plaza has always been a friendly and casual place to live. The location is ideal and the amenities are beyond any building in this price range. The new change of management this last year has made a huge positive difference in professionalism and attentiveness. ---------, our new property manager has turned this large building into a fine tuned ship! Work orders are simple, and taken care of in a timely fashion. She has gone out of her way to get all her staff to understand that the tenants are the priority. Even situations with cable/internet or electric companies have been awful to deal with in the past, they now have taken care of things for us, instead of us waiting on hold forever. We are treated with care and kindness and efficiency. I highly recommend living at Grand Plaza. Draper and Kramer are working hard to keep this building a high class, fine, and exclusive living place.

Been living in Grand Plaza for almost 1 year. The location is perfect for transportation and shopping. Red line is on the same block. My service orders for the last 12 months are done promptly. The internet service have been working fine since the new management team take over. BTW, the indoor basketball court is awesome.

This place has turned into a joke after DK Living (Draper Kramer) has taken over management of this building in July of 2012. The property manager Bonnie Wu and her assistant Katie Feehan are the rudest individuals I have ever met. They keep promising to resolve issues and never do and look at you like you are stupid. I cannot believe that the owners of this building could contract with such a company that treats the tenants like trash. I know many individuals in the building that have lived there for both short and long term and are leaving when the lease is up because of those 2 individuals. The only bright side to this are the people that work the front desk that cannot do enough for the residents.

We have been living at the Grand Plaza since September. The 1 bedroom has good space especially for downtown. When we first moved in we bought storage and our locker was filled with the previous owner's belongings. The Assistant Manager did not think to reach out to her maintenance staff to ensure storage was cleaned out before giving it to a new resident. Then we got another storage unit a few months later and happened again! We had 4 issues with our toilet the first week we lived there. My husband was livid that it continued to overflow and spoke with the Property Manager who gave us a new toilet, which we appreciated. The elevator banks on the right usually have one that out of order and there are 3 elevators or 40 floors so you can imagine how long the wait is when an elevator is down. Now most recently the hot tub is out of order and has been for a month. When you call the onsite staff they give you different answers on why it is not running yet; city inspection, missing part, improper water levels and a crack. They also allow people into your apartment without permission. I was home and someone knocked and I did not answer and the next thing I knew a cleaning lady, who is not associated with the building, was in my apartment and it is a service I do not have with them. When we voiced our concern to the Property Manager she apologized and offered us 4 movie tickets as though that would rectify that she allowed strangers into our home. It is disappointing since we really love the location and building but the office staff is not very good and customer service centric. I will say that the door lady, who recently left, was absolutely awesome and the maintenance man, who is also leaving, was really great too. You would think paying $2339 a month for a one bedroom, that the office staff would provide better customer service to its residents. Very disappointing.

Do not live here! Seriously. This building was great until DK Living took over in the Summer of 2012. Now it is a complete joke. The two people who are in charge of management of this building should be embarrassed at the job they are doing. It's as if they are going out of their way to make current residents unhappy. Both of them are completely incompetent. Almost to the point where I have no idea what they are getting paid for. If they are getting paid to piss residents off, then they deserve a lot of money because they definitely accomplish that. I have lived here for several years and there is no way I will renew my lease. Even if they paid me to live there. It's just not worth it, especially when you pay over $2,300 for a 1 bedroom apt. Do yourself a favor and find another place to live. Do not give these people your money. They do not deserve it! And anyone who says otherwise is either completely delusional and/or haven't lived in the building during the time that DK Management has been the property manager. About the only good thing i can say about the building is that the door staff and maintenance guys are great and are the 1 bright spot.

Great Location
A good friend lives in the building and I am often told how awesome it is. I've used many of the amenities & have rented the guest suite several times and have to admit that there was nothing I didn't like. The views are great, the location couldn't be better especially having the grocery store below. The gym is huge & the equipment is all state of the art. My lease is coming up for renewal and I'm planning on becoming a new tenant myself.

Great Amenities and Location
The building has some amazing amenities. I know I loved the fact that the gym was open 24/7. And also there were some awesome events for the residents and the staff is very friendly and accomidating. However, I would have to warn potential residents to not over pay in the lease contract and pay attention to sub-leasing rates of similar apartments in the area.

Great Experience
I moved into the building this year and it has been great so far. The workout facility and amenities are amazing. The best thing about this place is the location! The parking is convenient but there are plenty of drivers zooming around (Valets) so be careful. Some other reviews commented on the internet but we upgraded to the faster internet and it is fine. I play video games over the wireless internet online and I have had no issues. I also love the size of the balcony compared to some of the other buildings that I have lived in the loop. I am in a corner unit so I don't hear my neighbors much at all but the staff has been very professional and courteous. I also have a small dog which is nice to have a building that accepts dogs. Some other reviews mentioned a lot of loud music and young college kids but I have not experienced this once on my floor.

We were harassed!
We no longer wish to live at the Grand Plaza for the following reason: We feel Management supports the unfair and irrational complaints by certain individual(s) of our basic every day living activities. We've received complaints for our dishwasher noise, closing our door, talking on our balcony, talking in our condo. Security has approached our condo and has agreed they heard NO noise on several of these occasions. On one such incident, our dishwasher was running, no TV was on and I was sweeping the floors. REALLY??!! Security came to the door TWICE that evening with the same complaint from the idiot We pay approx $5700/month and have the right to use our dishwasher, balcony and doors. Managment has decided to support this irrational idiot and harass us. We did not take a vow of silence to live in the Grand Plaza. Perhaps you need to add that to your lease agreement so everyone is aware they cannot enjoy themselves while living at the Grand Plaza.

Exaggerated noise issue
The last reviewer is exagerrating. I have lived here several months and have NEVER heard the neighbor's dishwasher and/or people talking at normal levels. Having said that, the wall between unis are relatively thin and therfore loud talking, music and barking dogs can be a problem Another issue is that unlike many other buildings in the area , Grand Plaza does NOT have private balconies(separated by a distance from neighboring apartments.) Therefor if someone is on their balcony at 2 AM while you are trying to sleep(I must arise early for work each day) this can lead to insomnia. Furthermore the patio doors are VERY loud when opened/closed which is also a problem if one is trying to sleep

I love it here!
Not only is this building in the perfect location, but the amenities are awesome! The fitness center is one of the best I've seen for an apartment building and the outdoor pool is a blast in the summertime! The office staff has always been overly accommodating and helpful anytime I've ever had to deal with them. The door staff is wonderful and so friendly. I really can't complain! I highly recommend this place to others.

I Would Rather Live in a Box on Lower Wacker Then Here Ever Again
Believe the reviews, this place really does suck. Me and my fiance have had a number of different problems with both the building and the management and quite frankly I have met brighter and better management working at a dive bar. First, our ceiling started leaking water one night, after the building refused to contact us, we contacted them and only after several minutes of deliberation did we find out the toilet above us was leaking and the water was toilet water. This water leaked all over our coats and after building mainteience came forty five minutes later it had stopped, they looked at the problem, laughed, and went on their way. When we called back we were told it was "clean" toilet water and had nothing to worry about and when we asked and sent a letter requesting our coats be dry cleaned and closet repainted (the cheap paint they used all "wiped" off with the water running down it for thirty minutes)we recieved no response. We called back several times in the ensuing weeks to no avail and the issue was simply swept under the rug and when we called the final time a month later the management acted like we hadnever been in contact with one another. Another time are screen door was ripped by high winds and was told it would be fixed within an hour or two of the work order. After waiting all day they finnaly arrived, haphazardly installed a new door and then charged us 200$ for the screen, are you kidding? Screens cost 3$ per foot at Ace Hardware and the labor took maybe thirty minutes and to top it off I would have fixed the whole thing myself for under twenty dollars but the screen doors are installed in such a way that one needs special tools to take it off the hinge. My final problem began the day when we moved in. My girlfriend has a cat and we were told that we would be on a quiet floor. However, apparently all pets, wheter they be dogs, cats, or "babies" are all placed on the same floor so while my cat sleeps for 16-18 hours a day and makes less noise then a book, I have to constantly listen to my neighbors 10 lbs. dog yap away while a baby cries down the hallway, awesome. These are just several of the instances we have encountered at Grand Plaza and we havn't even been here for our whole lease yet. However, in the upcoming months are lease ends and about a month ago we got a call from leasing agent telling us that if we wanted to say our rent would be increased...really? I laughed in the phone and she told me the building was at 98% capacity, meaning that they have to increase the rent...I seriously laughed at this dumb B$^%&$% and told her we will never be coming back...I'm really glad you can contact me for money and a rent increase but when toilet water is running onto my Burberry you act like I don't exist. For those of you looking at the GP think long and hard, we will definetely go back to a more "personable" building like we lived in before (like 777 N. Michigan Ave.) then ever have to deal with the F%&%^#& idiots that run GP, thanks.
