Friendly staff, affordable apartments, friendly neighbors. The neighborhood is nice and things are in close range. I don't have any complaints with living here. The staff answer in a timely manner and admits COVID-19 have done a great job with different service requests or issues that may arise.

The area is kept clean but the items they choose to concentrate on are often not that important. I have people that do hard core drugs that live above me and are always causing problems and the staff is barely doing anything about it. The police are called by numerous tenants weekly and they are still not kicked out. They cause constant issues even to the point of someone over dosing with no recourse. They need to clean this problem up immediately bu they choose other details to spend their time on.

You do not want to publish my comments.. I am not a fan.. From rude people in the office, to ridiculous, outdated laundry system, to the awful wall unit AC.. It looks nice on the outside, but it is not fun to live here for the prices they are asking for these units right now..

Administrative office is never available. I have not received a response to my email about where packages go. The maintenance staff has no professional care. Leaving debris while replacing the GFCI outlets. No concern for water damage on multiple occasions.

I have found Ellyn Crossing to be a peaceful, friendly, and great place to live. It has everything I was looking for during my apartment search. Space for my son to play. 2 bedroom in an updated unit. Clean and well kept grounds. The neighbors are very friendly. I am very happy with my choice to move here.

Most recent experience: I have lived in this apartment for 2 1/2 months. There was dog urine and feces on the floor before it was carpeted which was never properly cleaned and sealed. The smell is getting worse as the carpet is walked on. The odor is starting to permeate my furniture and clothes. I have called the office many times and never get a call back. They are quite aware of the situation...and still nothing is being done. The padding and carpet needs to be changed and the floor cleaned and sealed. I am being totally ignored. Can someone from the association please address this situation. I should not have to live under these circumstances. Cheryl Piunti

This apartment just isnt the right fit for me and what I am I looking for. The parking lots are not that great, there arent any good amenities besides the pool. The police are always here for some reason. I have never seen an apartment that has so many issues with its residents. I also like that other apartments office staff and maintenance live in the complex building.

We are staying at Ellyn crossing from last 1 year. The living space is kinda small but comfortable. Our patio is good and has a beautiful view. Everything about the apartment is just right. Office people and Maintenance people are really sweet and helpful. You see workers cleaning every building everyday day. I totally recommend this place.

Not my favorite company. Too many problems and issues, recently had someone steal a package from the front of my home, takes forever to get a response via email, management does not seem to be very active with helping resolve issues.

There are obvious things that need to be fixed. With the resident portal and Greystar Management we should be able to tackle the things that were overlooked and desperately in need to be taken care of around my unit.

Overall its been a good 2 months. My first experience with maintenance was great. They came same day or next day and handled everything. Ive been having an issue with a neighbor who smokes cigarettes and its affecting my asthma. This hasnt really been addressed by management. Ive left a couple messages about it. The entrance way of my unit is dirty. The grass is cut once a week, itd be nice if we could get the common area cleaned once a week as well. I find myself picking up other peoples garbage to avoid such a trashy appearance to the area.

The professionalism from the leasing department was beyond my expectations. Customer service is what sells your company/property and having that unconditional comfort to offer of uncertainty. Thank you for making me feel welcome at the beginning of the process.

What really causes problems are neighbors that do not respect other neighbors. Excessive noise, littering, smoking in apartments and so on. There are some really nice people but l see them leave because of those who are really disrespectful.

Office staff are not so great , though maintenance staff was and are always best no complains, quick to response to any problem and get it fixed right away. But office staff is always always been worst even though with management changed several time .

I like it here its just minor things I feel like can be fixed but maintenance doesnt really care. And the parking lot has a bunch of potholes. People need to pick up their dogs poop. And I feel like the 3rd floor is always very hot! Is there something we can put in the hallways to get the heat to escape and cool down??

Its been very a up and down experience. My neighbors above me are not the most courteous and they never seem to stop walking around. You can even hear one of their cellphones vibrating on a table or something. There is enough parking but the actual lot is a terrible mess to drive through. I wish there was a better recycling program for the community as well.

I do not like to leave bad reviews, however, this place has forced my hand. I moved here because I was looking for a small, affordable apartment for myself and my cat, with access to a pool, because I love to swim. I work the night shift, so I was excited to be able to use the pool every morning after work in the summer. After living here 2 years, I have used the pool twice. All other times I went to swim, it was closed for maintenance, or closed because there was no lifeguard present, or closed because no one remembered to open the gate, and no one I asked had a key. Also, it didnt even open till 10 everyday, and it closed well before I woke up to go to my job in the evening. After the first summer, I just stopped trying to swim. That was the only reason I chose this place over everywhere else. I regret the choice, and wish I had chosen a place based on whether the apartment itself was livable. All I can say is there is a reason it was cheap. The stove is outdated and has no indicator for what the oven temperature is. The pilot was constantly blowing out, and I had to relight it, or just use a lighter to light the stovetop burners. When the kitchen didnt smell like gas from the stove, it smelled like cigarette smoke, and as a non smoker, I found it intolerable. All my neighbors smoked, so I never got to enjoy my patio. The heat from the baseboards never turned off, even when I set them to 0. I asked at the office and a staff member told me they turn off automatically in the summer. They never did. There is no thermostat. I bought a thermometer, and with the AC from the window box blowing at the highest setting, I could get the temperature in my bedroom down to 78 degrees, if I drew all the shades and kept my bedroom door open, because the AC was in the living room. Otherwise, even in the dead of winter, my apartment was between 80 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Perhaps it was because I lived on the third floor, but for it to be that hot, something is definitely wrong with ventilation/insulation/something. I asked maintenance about the ovens gassy smell. They came when I was not home, and left a note that said, Pilot is lit. No explanation of why it smells like a gas leak, or why it wasnt lit, or how to light it myself if it went out again. I had a list of things when I moved in that were wrong with the apartment. Most were minor things, like wrinkles in the carpet, or holes in the window screens, but some were big things, like the fact that my refrigerator leaked, filling the crisper drawers with water. When maintenance came to look through this list, they came in the afternoon, even though I specifically said morning, because I sleep in the afternoon. When I answered the door in my pajamas (an actual flannel shirt and flannel pants, not anything embarrassing) the man from maintenance appeared flustered, refused to enter the apartment to look at anything, and insisted I sign off on everything being fixed, even though it wasnt. I truly regret signing that, but I was really tired. I lost faith in the maintenance department after that, and ended up doing most maintenance myself, and what I couldnt fix, I dealt with. I emptied the crisper drawers from the fridge of water once a month, and never stored any food in them. I ran the AC full blast in the summer, and opened my windows in the winter to let out the heat. Even on the coldest days, the apartment did not drop below 75 degrees. And, as I said before, most days, it was 80 to 85 degrees. I mentioned a pet, and I did have to pay pet rent for my cat, on top of the initial fee. Other apartments do do this, and $20 is a fairly reasonable amount, but with all the other things I had to deal with, it was an extra thorn in my side that made me feel even my pet was not welcome. Not only did I feel unwelcome, as if I was not valued, but I also felt unsafe. There was a lot of police activity around my apartment, (at least once a week there was a cruiser blocking the entrance) and some of my neighbors would hold screaming matches. Sometimes I would wonder if I should call the police upon hearing these shouts at 11:00 at night when I was on my way to work, but never did, as that would make me late. Also, once every few months the building fire alarms would go off in the middle of the afternoon when I was dead asleep, or at 3 in the morning on my days off. They were always false alarms, but I always treated them as if it was a real fire, and had to throw on clothes, grab my yowling cat out from under the bed and bundle her down the stairs and into my car while the alarm blared, making it hard for me to even think. I feel very sorry for her, because I am sure the fire alarms went off even more than that, but I didnt know because I was at work overnight. My poor cat has started to go deaf, and no longer reacts to small noises like the shaking of her treat bag. Ellyn Crossing changed ownership a few times, but whenever they changed over, the only thing that happened was that I lost access to their residential portal website, had an increase in rent, had to re-set up automatic payments, and then added service fees for paying online. The only reason I stayed this long is because I was low on finances, and was saving up to move into a house. Finally, after 2 years of living in this horrid apartment I am free. Thank God.

Sadly, my experience has been very bad as its noisy and people smoke in their apartments and it goes to my apartment and I have to smell weed all day. Maintenance tried to fix it but since the plumbing is old so is out of their control.

When I first moved in I was told I could on the date. When I get there with my stuff to move in the Women told me my apartment wasn't ready because she did think I would want to move in on that date. When I did come in, 1 week later, I complained that the screen had holes in it and I wanted it replaced. I moved in on October. December I get a nocked on my door and it was the repair guys asking that I put in a ticket. When I told them about the screen they looked at me and said "ok" and walked out. I never heard from them again and I still have holes in my screen!

I like it Its mainly quiet. Downside is people above throw cigarettes over balcony and dog poop does not get cleaned. Only other complaint is roaches. Nothing is being done about them. Other than that I do like being here.

It's a good place for someone to be independent of course. If only the noise was much better. The other concern was fixing problems to where when a resident puts in a work order please dont just walk in and assume just because it's there that it doesn't need to be fixed at all and to simply put it ignoring the situation.
