We stayed at LOfW for 1 year and moving away from LOfW was very painful. LOfW gave me a perfect home/apartment I always wanted. I LOVE LAKES OF WINDSOR. I am a huge fan of LOfW. It is THE BEST apartment in Indianapolis infact in the whole midwest. Perfect location. Good maintenance. Good neighborhood. Beautiful homes. Next to Meijer(walkway till 24 hrs Meijer). I-65 nearby. All good restaurants and other stuff nearby. Pet friendly (only few apartments). What else do you want !!! Small problems : 1. Amy (1 of the LofW staffs). She is a bit rude person but rest all are okay. 2. Being a townhome kind of community there have been 2-3 incidents where some person knocked on my door and asked for money. 3. During summer , the lawn at all places is not watered. The areas visible to LofW office visitors are well maintained than the hidden LofW areas. These 3 problems were negligible as compared to the satisfaction I had staying at LofW. Love you LofW. I miss you.

Simply the Best
I lived at Lakes of Windsor for 1 year before I was forced to move due to job relocation. The property is absolutely beautiful and makes you feel as you are not in an apartment community. The entire office staff is always friendly and helpful. Michael always goes above and beyond to help the residents of Lakes of Windsor (past and present). The only negative thing I can say about Lakes of Windsor is that they spoiled me and now I will never be happy with any other community. If you are looking for a new home anywhere on the South side, Lakes of Windsor should be your only option. Thank you Lakes of Windsor for a wonderful place to call my home for the last year. Hopefully, I will be able to relocate back home to Lakes of Windsor in the future.

Poor Customer Service
Maintenance showed up to our apartment while my wife and I were at work due to a water leak in a shower only our guests use, we showed up back home later that night to a pile of our belongings sitting in the hallway and scattered like they were just tossed there. I found out they had to get into a closet to cut a hole in the wall and fix a leak. I also was told that it would not be fixed until Monday! The leak happened on Sat! Who would just leave a job with tenants items scattered in the main hallway for them to come home to and know that the issue wouldnt be resolved until Monday?!?! When talking to the weekend office staff trying to resolve the issue the guy was rude to my wife, and had no resolution but to say "he will try to make it a priority to fix but no guarantee". We have a hole in our wall and no place to put the items from the closet?!

Great Experience!
I've lived in my apartment for 10 months now and really don't have many complaints! Location is great other than traffic making a left on Southport Road. The staff is always friendly and kind. I've only had a couple very minor maintenance issues which were handled next day. One complaint is that they put cheap carpet in, it was new when I moved in but you can already see traffic patterns and I'm diligent on never wearing my shoes in the house. Noise isn't too bad between neighbors. I'm a night shifter so I sleep during the day and rarely have any noise problems. Only times I get woken up is if a neighbor slams a door or during Wednesday morning lawn care. The setting is nice, not your typical complex that is all buildings and parking lots, they break it up with trees and ponds. One downside is a lot of geese and geese droppings on the sidewalks. They provide a washer and dryer which is awesome! Parking is rarely a problem. Very occasionally I can't park directly by my building but it's never a very long walk. As far as safety I've never felt insecure or had any apartment or vehicle theft. I go running around the complex both day and night and always feel safe. They keep things well lit around the grounds. They have a playground for kids and also bball and tennis courts. Utilities are very reasonable. They cover water, sewage, and trash in your rent payment. Electric runs me about $60-70 summer and $120 winter (for a westminster 1 bed 1 bath) They have a partnership with Comcast so I got an unbelievable rate for hd tv, phone, and internet ($89/month). As I said, very few complaints! Very pleased, only moving because I'm ready to be a homeowner!

dissappointed
We have lived at Lakes of Windsor for three months. It has been the worst mistake we have ever made. Four young people live above us and all we hear is noise, noise noise. They play wii games and it sounds like they are gonna fall thru the ceiling. We can't sleep at night until they go to bed it is that loud. We are moving as soon as we can. The office staff did not do anything about it. In fact they told us that we could move. We like the layout of the apartment but that is all. We are so dissappointed. We hear them running up and down the stairs, slamming doors you name it. They throw food down from the balcony. Don't complain, te staff will take up for them.

Extremely good apartments!
I have lived at this place for 14 months and moved out due to my job change to another city. As you can see, I renewed the lease once and would have renewed it again if I was not to move to anotther city due to job change. I must say that I enjoyed my stay at this quiet, clean and well maintained place. The staff is extremely good and always there to help with a smile. Great place for family as well students. I have seen a good mix of both at this location. I strongly recommend this place.

Great Apartment Complex
After living her for one year, I have loved my experience at Lakes of Windsor. The office staff is excellent and the response times to service requests is oustanding. A great workout facility, nice pool, and walking distance to Meijer makes it a nice place to live. Each unit has a private entrance and very new/modern appliances. I have not run into any problems living here and recommend it to others.

I have lived at Lakes of Windsor twice !
I lived at Lakes of Windsor two times, these apartments are awsome. The pool is fantastic,it's right next to the 24 hour fitness center. The landscaping is extordinary. Wifi worked there for me and I live the furthest from the office. The residents are people who you like to call your neighbors. The maintenance is incredible and friendly. The staff is very acommadating and feel your family. Also, ducks are cool ! I bought a house, so sadly I had to leave.

A very good property Indeed
I recently moved into a 1 bedroom here. The property is awesome. The leasing office staff is the best that I have ever encountered and believe me I have seen quite a few properties across the country. The floor plans are very nice. The ambience and location of the property is simply great. Close to everything you can imagine. To sum it up so far I have no complains.

My boyfriend and I recently moved in and the staff couldn't have been more helpful! They were absolutely wonderful to work with and answered all of my questions...which were ALOT considering we had never lived in an apartment before. VERY minor issues were solved immediately and we are really enjoying our time so far. We are looking forward to more time in this apartment. The grounds are kept very nice, playground is WONDERFUL and my niece and nephew that come to visit absolutely love it! I can't wait to enjoy the sand volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts. The pool will be great to enjoy as well. The private entrances to each apartment are very nice. I never would have even thought that it would be a big deal but everyone in my family and friends were impressed by that. The apartments also feel more like a condo or house much more than the other apartments we looked at. We looked at about 10 places before we looked at Lakes of Windsor. We thought that it would be out of our budget but it is afforrdable and beautiful. Definitely worth it :)

Happy Family
We moved here in October and have really enjoyed it. The staff is fabulous, always cheerful and definitely helpful. Our apartment, 3 bdrm, is spacious and we don't feel on top of each other all of the time. We have great neighbors and rarely hear them. Whenever we have need something fixed, we just call or stop by the office and they are fix it promptly. We do want to purchase a house again, but will stay here until the time is right.

Moved from a house
Just recently we moved from a house into a 3 bedroom apartment. The experience has been wonderful. Not only is it quiet and roomy, but when something breaks we can call someone to fix it and they actually show up. In addition to these features, everything is nearby. You can walk to the grocery, or just drive a short distance for most other things. It is wonderful!

Impressive Community
Just moved here from West Lafayette, IN (Purdue) & I am overall very satisfied with the services here. I'm not hard to please, so i take comfort in the simple things, but i do have standards due to working in leasing myself. i feel quite safe here, which is a big plus. im very impressed with the promptness of the maintenance staff (actually, they were so quick about it once, that they walked in on my roommates....um yeah...cause they figured maintenance wouldn't be there for an hour or two. haha!). our apt was good to go when we moved in, no complications; roommate did walk through w/ leasing agent. The staff is fantastic. I understand how frustrating it is to work in a leasing office, so with that in mind, they are very friendly. Plus me n my roomies are in there quite often, just to shoot the breeze w the staff cause we're bored (we're students n we're broke n we do know anyone in town yet). It is very quiet, at least where I'm at. I barely remember that I have neighbors sometimes. My neighbors seem reserved & quiet. They keep to themselves, mostly families, couples & students as well. I love the location of the property. we r still close enough to feel like we are in the country, but the city is just up the street. Perfect. The only thing that was unfortunate was that when my roommate was apt searching & found this place, he requested a designated dog building, which was what helped him decide to lease here. In the end, we didnt get one. not sure y. Perhaps a human error, which happens, but I still consider that a pretty important thing since that was the whole reason we picked this complex. It is a little expensive, but if you want to live somewhere safe & nice that isn't a ------, you must go where it is pricey. Nice pool & fitness center. Grounds are kept very well; a few patches of dried grass, but nothing major. semi-gated; approx. 6' brick walls & the back is fenced in (cause we are RIGHT NEXT to Meyer. super sweet!). They send email updates on events, reminders of procedures, etc (how courteous!). In the end, I've been here for two months & it already feels like home. For someone like me, home is my center, where I go to unwind, relax & be myself. I can definitely enjoy that luxury here. Jeez, look at all that! Sorry, I tend to list everything like I'm at work. lol. Anyway, I hope my opinion was of some help.

LOVELY PLACE TO LIVE
I have lived at Lakes of Windsor for almost five years and would highly recommend it. It has been a good experience for me, from the friendly staff and excellent maintenance service, to simply the beauty of the place. Through the years, I have checked out newer apartments in the area, just out of curiosity and to do a bit of comparing, and have always been disappointed on some level, either from lack of storage space, an extra monthly charge for a washer and drayer, or less square footage than Lakes of Windsor offers. Lakes of Windsor offers more square footage and storage space than any apartments I have ever looked at. I definitely get the most bang for my buck here, not to mention a sense of saftey, a peaceful atmosphere (very little noise, ever), and outstanding, award winning, landscaping. Many, if not all, patios have a lovely tree in front of them. I placed bird feeders in mine where I sit and watch a variety of birds feed throughout the year. (In cold weather, from my living room windows.) Not many apartments elsewhere, have a tree for each tenant to claim. I also enjoy the various ethnic groups represented here. Whether from India, Japan, China, a Latino country, or simply American, Lakes of Windsor appears to be populated with a high calibur, professional clientel. For the money, I think it can't be topped.

Love this place
Lakes of Windsor is awesome. The staff is exceptional and maintenance is quick to fix repairs. I absolutely love living here. Some of the other comments on here are quite ridiculous. For example, the individual who mentioned being intimimdated by "brown" people walking around.... are you serious? First of all, let's use some current "people friendly" terms here because you sound as if you have the education of a second grader. I welcome anyone considering to live her to come here in the evenings and view people of all ethnicities walking around taking advantage of the fact that they live in a safe community. I highly doubt you will be intimidated by anyone. As for the geese poo.... one cannot expect to live in a community with surrounding lakes and not have geese poo. What matters to you more? Lake or random geese droppings? This community is great and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Love it!
I love living here. It is by far the nicest apartment complex on the southside. I have never experienced any problems since I have lived here. The last person said there are too many "brown people" here (obviously some uneducated person). Yes, there are a lot of so-called "brown people" and they are all extremely nice and friendly, always minding their own business. The apartment is very modern and has a nice layout. The pool area is also really nice and I feel comfortable going there alone. I take my dog for walks alone too and never worry about my safety. I have found the office staff to be very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone and plan on renewing my lease next year.

5 stars
I've lived here two years and everything has been great. Everyone in the office is very nice, and always helpful. Maintenance is always prompt (usually there within a couple hours) and helpful and there is a 24 hour number if you have an emergency. I had a water heater that needed replaced earlier this year and when I called in the afternoon there was someone there to fix it within an hour and when they arrived they told me that if I have a problem like after the office closes that I can call the 24 hour number and someone will come right over. It's pretty quiet. The apartment layout is nice and has everything I could want/need. I like my aprartment complex better than most others that friends have, and when I have to move at the end of the year I hope I can find a place I like as much, and will probably try to stick with the same managment company. I believe (not 100%) that the managment changed a couple years ago so maybe negitive feedback here is in response to former managment- I can't see why anyone would have a problem here unless they created it themselves.

"friendly" service
I've lived here for 3 years and just to show you how much they appreciate you, I'll tell you what happened tonight. I got home at 6 and found that there was a package that needed to be picked up in the office. I ran over there thinking they might be open still since it takes only 30 seconds to pick up a package. The "service" rep inside was closing down and ignored me as I walked up. She then pretended to duck in to an office. The only problem, I could see her through a mirror in the lobby. Thanks a lot lady. After I walked off and got in my truck, she then just happened to walk by as if still not to see me. Thanks a lot, Lakes of Windsor, it's good to see my 360 dollar rent is going to good use. I'm definitely out after my lease is up and you should stay away.

Tired of the same old same old!
Used to love living here until things changed within the last year. Maintenance takes FOREVER to get to requests...sometimes has to come bak 2 or 3 times. Geese droppings all over sidewalks and grass all summer long...no one cleaning it up....yet we are expected to clean up after OUR dogs!...but not everyone...some people apparenyly are exempt from doing so. used to LOVE my apartment close to the pool...now can't wait to move out next spring!

I still love it
I was a resident here from January 2005 to July 2006 the first time. I loved everything about my apartment as well as the complex. I moved out to live with some friends and last month the lease on our house was up so I decided to move back here. I think it's one of the most convenient, comfortable communities on the south side!! I've had a few maintenance problems this time around, but they have all been addressed and resolved. So far, so good! I love living here.

Would not Recommend
Lived here a year, and when we moved in the apartment wasn't painted or carpet cleaned. The people downstairs smoke and it comes up through the vents. The have not sprayed once since I moved in. They dont change furnace filters. They dont check smoke alarms. The management is very rude. They say the pool is heated...It's NOT! Geese are real bad. Very expensive to heat and cool. They dont keep common area's clean especially around playground and the very back of apartments. It's always the last to be done. They didnt do a great job of shoveling the snow and ice this past winter. I went out and had to do myself and didnt get so much of a thank you.

A good stay....
Lived here for 26 months and found things work out pretty well. This is probabaly the best south of downtown. it is not too expensive either unless you want a short term lease or go month-month.
Generally very helpful and courteous staff...no major breakdowns/repairs in 26 months. Very neat and clean too. AND stone's throw from everything.
Subash Nanjangud

i have had a horrible time at lakes of windsor. the management is inconsiderate and will make you pay for repairing each and every thing after you move out.
I am being made to pay for repainting the whole inteior - 2 coats of paint, replacing the whole carpet ($1000) and replacing 2 doors and 2 jabs. I have been a decent neighbor and have never had such trouble in my past. This is absolute insanity. I will obviously have to seek legal counsel as a means of being able to get some justice.
Please be aware before you sign up at this place.

One of the nicest on Southside
Lakes of Windsor is probably the nicest apartment complex on the southside and one of the nicest I've lived in (been renting since I was 20 in several different cities). They are a little pricier than some, but I think it's worth it. it makes the neighborhood nicer. I'm buying a house in the next few months, or I would not be moving. I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone who wants to live somewhere nice, not cheap.
