Horrible Place to Live
The whole managment staff does a very poor job of managing the property. They are very rude and hide behind paperwork to excuse themselves for taking any responsibility. They are not helpful and you can call and complain and they don't respond back to you. Don't bother calling the leasing office for help, they don't return phone calls. The managment staff has change many times over, they can't even keep a Property Manager in place.

Location can't be beat, and really nice apt
I am really happy with my apartment. I moved in about a year ago and am deciding on to transfer to a bigger 2bedroom or move out because I need more space. Overall the apt is great though and it is right off route1 n only a couple minutes from boston. Washer and dryer in the apt n heat bill is really low because its a green complex and common areas are always neat and clean. Someone wrote soemthing about fire alarms, but I have never heard any and I mostly work from home. Gym is a pretty cool plus too! The girls in the office are really nice, and good loooking too! Size, Price, Location all in all its a good deal..I hope they have a two bed big enuf for me. Oh but parking is limited, that sucks

NEVER MOVE HERE!
At first it seemed really nice, brand new apartment and clean building. I moved in towards the beginning and didn't realize how thin the walls were until my neighbors moved in. You can hear people's conversations on the phone along with their tv's and dogs barking. The firm alarm goes off way more than it should and it's incredibly annoying and LOUD. The parking garage is not secure and many people have had their cards broken into and bicycles stolen. There are no cameras and anyone can easily break in. The hallways are filthy with dog pee and food scraps. I once saw a banana peel on the elevator! Turns out they rent to Section 8 people which explains the banana in the elevator. This information wasn't told to me when I moved in or I wouldn't have moved there. Most of the people are nice but the property manager is not very helpful at all. Big mistake moving here and it's not worth the money. The parking inside is $75 a month for your car to be unsecured and they won't allow new residents to park outside, they want to force you to pay $75.

Worst place ever
I used to live here for a year, and i strongly recommend NOT to move in there. Price and location are okay. Fire alarm, thin wall, poor garage condition, and maintainence. Just the worst ever. They seem nice at the first, but after someone moves in or out, they don't care at all! They even yell at you. Rude and unprofessional! They have thin thin wall so that i could listen to neighbor talking on the phone clearly! Worst place ever!

Poor experience
My experience at Parkside Commons(recently moved) was bad in almost every way. The Good: The residents are great. We made tons of friends and I really can't name a mean person that lived there. The Bad: -Fire alarms going off at a rate of once every two weeks for months on end. -Mice: the apartments have a huge rat/field mouse problem(Chelsea has historically had this issue). I had to ask the management for 2 months before they sent someone to take care of the mice. -The garage tiles started falling in because of poor drainage construction. These tiles/strange liquid landed all over cars. -Multiple cars have been stolen from the garage. Management will not consider installing working cameras because they are too expensive. Parking rent is $75/month. $75/month to have a wet dirty car that gets broken into. Doesn't add up. What is the parking rent for? -The poor drainage required fixing mid-winter. Residents on the first floor returned one day to have tarps leaning again their windows. To heat the work area under this they used diesel generators which pumped methane gas into everyone's apartment. The apartments have great sealing so everyone on the courtyard side had methane filled apartments. My puppy almost died. She was gasping for air with bloody eyes. Upon questioning management nothing was done. In addition, I was reprimanded by Corcoran's corporate call center for calling the emergency line to have the gas removed. P.S., the emergency service line never sent assistance. -You can't walk on the grass because of all the dog poop. -The manager will not answer any question you ever ask, but will rather dismiss it jokingly as 'no big deal'. Her prime move is to stare at an unidentified object somewhere above your head and examine it while your talking. -The whole staff is defensive and rude. -The building is setting poorly because of rapid poor construction so if you go down the hall way/garage you will see cracks ranging from the 4 inch crack in my living room to the 15 foot one in the concrete garage ceiling to the floor-ceiling cracks as you go down the hall ways. These were quickly spackled over but show how shoddy the construction is. I recommend moving anywhere but this property. Literally anywhere in Massachusetts.

This is a clean, modern, affordable, and comfortable place to live. The grounds are well kept and aesthetically pleasing. One suggestion: The carpet areas around and inside the elevators require better maintenance, especially since these are frequently traveled areas. Staff are generally quite friendly, however, of late, one staff member has become quite short, seemingly easily annoyed, and cold--doesn't make for good customer service. Other than this, everything else is superb. I really like living here.

Great place... at one point in time.
ORIGINAL THOUGHTS: Great place to live. The building is brand new, eco-friendly, and very affordable compared to equal-sized units within Boston-we are paying $100 less a month for a brand new unit that is 200 square feet larger! I don't have a car, but there is ample parking space outside for residents, as well as some limited parking spaces for visitors (free of charge). There is also a large parking lot next to the building that doesn't seem to restrict visitor parking. In addition, there is a large amount of parking in the secured garage underneath the building. I do believe there is a fee for this, although they were waiving the fee in the early renting stages (not sure if they still are). Very low noise level. The grounds are kept very clean and the apartment building itself seems very safe. Chelsea has a bit of a reputation, but I've never had any negative experiences. Seems like a good city to me! Construction is decent--green materials are a tough experiment. Paint doesn't hold up well to washing...rugs seem a bit thin and seem to wear out easily...but I am assuming they replace these after each tennant--they also didn't charge a security deposit. Maintenance people are incredibly friendly and do a great job! Staff is also very nice and get you the answers you need fast! Our rent inlcudes a 1 BR ( Den) and 1 Bath, upgrade (gas fireplace), and $50/month pet fee. Great place overall!!! UPDATE: Moved out a few months ago, because we were leaving the area. However, we would've likely moved out anyways at the end of our lease. As our time in the building went on, there was a lot of turnover in the front office. I thought they were still all nice people, and always did their best to answer my concerns, but the feeling of a community-oriented building was fading quickly. New residents were loud and started leaving trash in hallways, elevators, etc. We had to call the cops on our upstairs neighbors for having a party at 3am... on a Wednesday night. This place still has potential, but management needs to invest more into making this a community oriented building. Try having community events in the neighborhood--dinners, community service, etc.
