Nice pet friendly community. The staff has been friendly and helpful. Outside maintenance of grounds is done on a daily bais. There is a good fitness center. The security staff has been especially helpful in facilitating access for cleaning help and family members.

Elkridge Estates feels like home-- safe, clean, well appointed and well maintained. I've been here for over 16 years and enjoy the sense of community at EE. I like that management updates the apartments, including for long-time residents. Am glaf to be here!

This is a gorgeous apartment. The grounds are wonderful, with beautiful landscaping and plenty of natural beauty. The staff are terrific, and it's a wonderful value. It's a real retreat, with a nice balance of younger and older people. Love it!

I am very satisfied with the way management handles all problems when they occur. They are attentive to my needs, are courteous and efficient. It is noisy, but these buildings are old.

I have been a resident at Elkridge Estates for about two years. From the outside, the grounds are kept in wonderful condition. The pool, club house and exercise room are wonderful. The maintenance is always prompt with fixing items. The things that I absolutely cannot deal with is the paper thin walls. I can hear my upstairs neighbors do everything - from using the bathroom, to talking to doing things in their bedroom. Nothing like the sound of two ------- going at it in the middle of the night. The staff doesn't do ANYTHING to address the noise; you just write a complaint letter and then supposedly the staff takes it from there. Nothing happens!! The apartments have not been updated since the 1980s. The appliances in the apartments are all old and need to be replaced. If you live on the ground floor, prepare to have bugs and other insects creep into your apartment. You will also have to share a washer and dryer. Thankfully you don't have to pay, but there is 1 washer and 1 dryer for about 5 apartments to share. They also have restrictions on when you can do your laundry - nothing after 8PM. I've asked on several occasions if they could have more washer and dryers to accommodate the extra apartments but the staff is lazy and doesn't do anything. They tend to spend their money on making the exterior grounds look wonderful.

Great place to live. The staff is amazing. Maintenance is ongoing and very quick for any problems. And it's wonderful to be able to walk the dog late at nite and still feel safe. As with any place, there are "pesky residents" but if you have a problem, the management tries to help resolve any issues - and usually pretty quickly! I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Overall a nice place to live, mostly quiet and great amenities. With heat, hot water, cooking, and laundry included, you can't complain about the price. One of the biggest downfalls are the speed bumps and road conditions. You literally have to go over 10 speed bumps and drain hole ditches whenever you leave or come home. After awhile, it becomes an annoyance rather than maintaining safety. The apartments are luxurious and up to date. Based on my personal experience with living in apartments, it's hit or miss with the noise. If you have obnoxious neighbors with no respect, you're going to have a negative experience. I thought I would get lucky here, since a majority of the tenants are older, but I was wrong. Great that they offer month to month renting after your first year as well as a car cleaning station with vacuum, air, and soap machines. If you're looking for a temporary apartment for a year or two, this is definitely a good find.

Originally our move here was to be for 1 year. We were: amazed at the loveliness of the apartment; discovered the continuing hospitality and attentiveness of the staff; attracted to the amenities and the grounds; and, very important, the secure environment. We remain in residence.

I moved to Elkridge Estates from a large home in Parkton and absolutely love it. My apartment is spacious, very bright and cheerful. I have a ground floor apartment that looks out on to a golf course and the view is spectacular not to mention the very roomy patio and beautiful garden. I really do not feel like I am living in an apartment at all. The amenities of the gate house , the pool and gym were a welcome bonus. I am so impressed with the friendly staff and how quick the maintenance staff responds. I have met some incredible neighbors. I could not be happier.

After a 30 year marriage in a gracious home, I found myself wanting and needing a simpler way of life. It took me THREE moves in FIVE years to find my home here at Elkridge Estates. I have cared for a large family for many years, and now needed to be cared for myself. With Privacy, Independence, and Graciousness, Elkridge Estates has come through for me. Here I found Beauty. Landscaped grounds, proffesionals on call at all times, and countless amenities. Thanks to all involved who make my new home a place of integrity and peace. Sincerely, Mary J. Fowler

I lived at Elkridge for one year. Great location, safe, clean and the grounds are well kept. Lots of extra's for an apartment community [fitness center, pool, 24/7 security at the main entrance]. I would recommend this place - the price is right and the staff are responsive. Barry S

I am in a penthouse 5bd-4ba unit and it couldn't be nicer in terms of space and privacy from the wing where our 22 and 23 year old professional children live. The category below does not even have the necessary allotment of beds and baths to describe this unit. After living in the country, we came to EE with all the confidence to rely on the management for all our maintenance needs and they have. Prompt, professional and courteous, they are like family. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate how they maintain the grounds and like clockwork, routine maintenance is always proactive. Built many years ago with the idea that large area homeowners would be moving out of their spacious homes, the owners catered to residents by combining units and installing crown molding, etc. This is one of those rare gems, with a expansive 44ft panoramic view of tree tops and nature. And, cleverly built into hills, our penthouse unit is only 7 steps to the entrance of our 4 story building. Lovely.

Elkridge Estates of Roland Park is a great place to live. Though I physically do not live there, I have a senior parent who does and I spend quite a bit of time taking care of him. When my mother & I first toured EE in July 2012, we immediately fell in love with the apartments and the well kept landscaping and overall appearance. What also added to our liking was the pleasant, warm personality and experience of management. In my opinion having a great management team is equally as important as having great apartments. EE really live up to their name. I love how they encourage and require that tenants respect and abide by the rules, such as keeping your balcony clutter free and picking up after your pet. It is also nice to read the newsletter filled with information, receipes, and other good things.Though my mother was not able to enjoy the livings of EE because she passed away a week after moving there, my father really loves it there. He lived in his home of 50 years before moving to EE and at first it was a little hard for him to adjust, especially not having my mother there to enjoy it with him. However, he rarely is alone and has settled into his apartment very well. He cannot wait until the weather warms up so he can sit out on the balcony. Thank you Elkridge Estates for keeping up such a beautiful property. Karen Edwards.

I am currently a resident at Elkridge Estates. I love living here, it is extremely quiet, and I have the best neighbors. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept, the maintenance staff has been prompt, and the ladies in the office are always friendly and professional. I haven't had any problems with --------, I will say that she stays on top of things and thats what makes this community shine. I can hear my neighbors occassionally but that comes with apartment living. There is always parking even when I get home late. The only thing I would like to see is more lighting in the community. Over all I think Elkridge Estates is a great place to live!

Disappointing Experience
Wonderful location, beautiful grounds and excellent open and light apartments. However, there is an oppressive, meddlesome property manager who is "in your face and business". There are rodents roaming through the walls that do make it into your apartment from time to time. Insulation is not adequate and you can here everything your neighbors do - to include conversations, arguments and lovemaking. I would recommend Elkridge to retirees and couples. I would not recommend Elkridge to families. This community does not tolerate kids.

A Delightful Community
I have lived at Elkridge Estates for over 9 years, after having looked at numerous apartment complexes in the north Baltimore area. Elkridge Estates is a cut above all the rest. A gated community (with a guard 24/7), yet very friendly place. Over the years I've gotten to know many of my neighbors, who I now happily call friends. The complex is extremely well-managed by Mrs. Cook, and for any good manager it is important to enforce the rules for the betterment of the entire community, which she does quite well. She is a consummate professional. Elkridge Estates is not "just an apartment complex"; there is a sense of community. The staff throw wonderful holiday parties for the tenants. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and they decorate for all the holidays. When I have a maintenance issue, it is addressed very quickly. The main drawback is that the walls are a bit thin, so sometimes I hear a neighbor, but that's to be expected with an older building. Pam Kossian

Former tenant
Could not wait to move. Rare to be able to sleep due to noise level. Lawn maintenance, tree cutting, repairs were constant. Be aware of the golf course behind the apartments. At times, including 6am on Sunday mornings, course was being maintained. Sounded like a very loud vacuum cleaner. Walls so thin that you hear everything. Unless you are an insomniac, I would say a definite NO to these apartments.

Elkridge Estates property manager/----
M's ---- runs this place like a concentration camp. She fabricates stories and butts into the tenants' private business. When you go to the office to talk to her she talks to you in a demeaning manner like you are the child, she is the adult. She sends nasty erroneous letters to tenants before "checking" the facts. Do you want to live like this? I don't. I can't wait to move. This place is like a cancer: pretty on the outside and decaying on the inside. The reviews are correct, the noise level is awful. Yes...there are mice from all the birdfeeders. If you have a dog, the older tenants are intolerant of their barking and ---- will send you a "famous" nasty letter.

Old apartments thin walls
Lived there for a year and since day 1 had problems with the noise coming from next-door and upstairs neighbors, the wall are so thin you can practically hear every single word/ thing others dwellers do. Hated the place, always problems with pipes, and rodents. Leasing office staff are very friendly but manager Mrs. Cook is unwilling to help. Apartments are very old and pricey.

Badly Managed
The gounds are kept beautifully manicured, however there are several problems that are dangerous and uncomfortable. In the winter, they shovel the main roads, but the staff will not help get cars out-you are on your own.As several tenants, like me, are over 65, we have difficulty getting out, and when we do, there is a lot of snow around cars and several people have fallen. Ice is also a big problem. There are several common areas with running water which freezes and turns to ice. Mail boxes have been broken into, and noise is a problem. Several of us have brought these concerns to the manager, Ms. Cook, or her assistant, Robin. They have done nothing except pull out the lease agreement and point out what they will not do. They are very rules oriented and not people oriented.I have never lived in a place where problems are not solved and the management is so nasty. It really ruins the beauty of this place.

Pros & Cons from a Current Tenant
Pros: - spacious & modern apartments - best kitchen & bathroom (for an apartment, for the price) I have seen so far - efficient heating and aircon system - modern appliances - washer, dryer, microwave... - beautiful & well-maintained landscaping, gardens & park areas w/ quiet & secure community - gated community - feels very safe both day and night - very friendly security staff - responsive & helpful maintenance staff - with nearby top-of-the-line schools - abundant parking space (except during heavy snow days) - 15-20 minutes drive to the inner harbor or downtown - friendly neighbors Cons: - being near lots of schools, traffic can be an issue during school days - soundproofing between apartments from above and below could have been better designed but I think its comparable with other apartments I have seen. - rent is on the high end (but I think it is worth) In a city like Baltimore, I value safety above all others and I luckily found it here at Elkridge Estates.
