This community promptly works to get you in. The staff is nice and professional. The community is quiet and clean. I am impressed by the trash and the recycling items beeing picked up almost as soon as you put it outside your door.

I reported the issue of the guest bathroom toilet that wouldn't stop running water in the tank. Fortunately it never overflowed on the floor. The same day I reported the issue it was fixed within the hour, no mess was made, the maintenance staff always professional and courteous. Thanks.. We're still working on the bug issue which we hope to get under control soon.

Great community a lot better than what I came from at gates of Cipriano , great people in the office, quiet and clean and spacious . A lot of amenities with the complex, I like the easy way of paying online. They just moved to a new system where you can submit request and pay online

Very inconsiderate apartment management company. No one ever answers the phone in the office. You don't receive a call back when trying to reach the property manager. The trash isn't always picked up on days that it should be. The water is always being shut off. I had no hot water intermittently throughout my stay here with the longest time being a week without hot water. They don't honor Maryland's quiet enjoyment laws. I sent several notices about loud neighbors and no one ever contacted me back. Cars have been broken into, kids run wild and I have heard altercations from my bedroom window in the middle of the night several times throughout my stay. I have been at this apartment complex for two years, payment always on time and I have to leave the state short term for a family emergency (father getting a transplant across country) and asked if I could be let out of my lease just a few weeks to a month earlier OR asked if I could set up a payment plan so that I could cover my last month of rent. I was callously just told "no", when I know that they have the ability to make these types of arrangements. Save your money and rent elsewhere.

As a resident of Governors Green for over 4 years, I have been pretty satisfied overall until the change in property management companies from Equity to Bainbridge. The office staff does not follow through sometimes and have been caught in multiple lies in reference to issues that have been reported multiple times. It also seems that the property is not being maintained as well as it was under the previous property management company. Preventative maintenance (i.e. extermination, exterior building maintenance/cleaning, etc.) is no longer done or not done on a regular basis. I will be considering moving once my lease is up unless I see some major changes.

Not pleased with the lack of upkeep, the trash collection and disposal, build up of trash at the compactors, broken down garages, pet waste everywhere, lack of parking now that anyone can park, old appliances and lack of amenities.

I like that the community is dog friendly. I like the trash service. The maintenance staff was courteous when fixing my dryer. I've only been here a few months but everyone that I've met in the community has been very nice.

I have been a resident for over 10 years and the service and quality has went down. There is a lot of turn-around regarding staff, the good people employees never stay. The folks are nice, the job doesn't get down correctly.

It's okay, pricy but common for this area. Rental office doesn't answer the phone and parking sucks. Don't expect to come home after 9pm and have a parking spot. People constantly park in front of our garage. Rental office is hard to get ahold of no matter what time you call.

Listen and read the Reviews DO NOT MOVE HERE. While it is convenient next to 50 and to other shopping centers, This place is literally a joke. The leasing office does not care about our concerns. They will move you in and think they do, but once you are in, they will completely ignore you. Walls are thin, can hear arguments, children, neighbors having sex, etc. Trash overflowing, yet they have this "valet trash" which is a complete joke and they charge $30 a month to use and you cant opt out of it. Insulation SUCKS! Windows are old and outdated. Lighting isnt bright in the community, weed smell in the building and on the balcony, Appliances are OLD and OUTDATED and will break down on you, oh and crime. From assaults to thefts to autos stolen, my truck had its rims and tires stolen. Went to the leasing office and they said "Crime happens everywhere" Safety is absent here. Cars and vehicles have been vandalized, rims and tires stolen (about 15 so far) and Bowie Police are always here for something. Yet, Property Management has NOT sent any emails about the incidents but are quick to email you that your rent is due on the 1st. That ------------- who is the Assistant Manager is a joke. The Manager is a joke and the ------------------------- has an attitude when you walk in. DONT DO IT! Will not be renewing my lease next year. If you want better living move elsewhere in Bowie.

I have mixed emotions.I had a theft of property less than a month of moving in. There is not an option to not use or not use the garbage $30 garbage service. One person doesn't generate much garbage. There was also a annual rent increase of approximately $60 and I expect another one on my anniversary date. I'm preparing to move out next year if there is a rent increase.

Unit is an updated and modern apartment, clean and ready to move in to when promised. Prompt attention from staff, lease/keys ready to go on my arrival from out of state. Very pet friendly, even compared to other pet friendly complexes!

Very helpful and friendly staff. The apartment was clean and upgraded. The mailboxes are near the apartment you live in instead of a whole community box area, which is nice. The building areas are well lit. The apartment is right by hwy 50 and easy access is nice. The neighbors seem friendly.

My side of the community is relatively quiet and a nice place to live. I haven't experienced any major issues and have been here for 2 years. The rent is a little high compared to the the accommodations available in neighboring communities, but overall a nice place to live. There has been alot of turnover in the rental office it seems, but that could just be my perception as I don't frequently visit. I loved working with a particular agent who is no longer employed with the company, she was the only person who has really wowed me since living there. Nevertheless, the staff seems to be willing to help to the best of their abilities. I have had some experience where there were issues that were not my fault (broken AC, water mane break, billing issue) and the tone of the rental office has been somewhat flippant and overall bothered, when as the tenant I am the only one who should have been bothered as I was the one inconvenienced. But no one has ever been outright rude. Overall I would recommend Governors Green

Just moved in last month. The process was quick and easy on move in day. Appliances are very old and are in need of updating. Security seems to be a problem in this neighborhood with the lack there of. Maybe placing an entry gate or having roving patrols at night would make the place more secure.

Pros: 1. Governor's Green is located in a great area, very close to shopping, gas, malls, food, etc 2. Quiet neighborhood for the most part. I rarely hear loud noises. 3. Maintenance responds very quickly to service requests. Cons: 1. Maintenance has never fixed our problems. We have literally submitted the same service requests since we've moved in. The roof leaks when it rains. Each time we do a service request, they simply paint over the water marks. The office sent a mass email stating roof tops will be replaced, then we were told our specific roof may not be replaced. Also the tub faucet falls off into the tub all the time. Each time they come they use caulk, and each time it falls off again! 2. Car theft is a MAJOR problem. People's entire cars, items from their cars or simply their rims get stolen all the time. Maintenance does not acknowledge the problem. 3. There is NO storage in the apartments. I know most apartments have either an interior or exterior room simply for storage. Not the case with Governor's Green. We will not be renewing the lease.

I moved into this community over a year ago. This community has not been this "wonderful" image as people portrayed. This community is TERRIBLE. Lighting is non existent in the community, its dark and not well lit in certain areas. Crime and safety is NOT of the leasing office concerns. Bowie Police are always here. There have been assaults, thefts, robberies, and now vandalism of people's vehicles. My tires were stolen off my brand new vehicle. Another neighbor had his tires stolen and window smashed, look on the facebook site, you will see reviews of vehicles stolen and damaged. The leasing office does not do anything. They sent emails announcing a pool party and renting a garage, but nothing in regards to safety and acknowledging the crime in the community. With the amount of rent we pay to live here, Safety needs to be their priority. Do yourself a favor, dont move here.
