Apartments are a nice size especially for Downtown Silver Spring apartments. The building is pretty old and some of the apartments are not updated. But the location is very convenient with walking distance to shops and metro. The building has a roach and mice problem but living in a higher lever apartment I haven't had too many issues with that, but it would be nice to have none. I have heard from other residents that it's a severe problem for them. Office staff does not keep residents informed about anything going on in the community, so communication is very very limited, you won't know about changes and such. Often you find those out as you go which is very frustrating. Also when you want to speak to someone from the office they are always 'busy' or 'on the phone' even if they are not. So it's hard to get a hold of them. If you can find a similar deal, go life there. I wouldn't recommend moving in here to my friends.

This has been a very good apartment for me. I never actually thought about moving out since I started living here. First of all, the convenience of the apartment, the staff are really nice and when you need maintenance, they are readily available.

Why is there a front desk/ concierge if in the evenings no one can buzz you in when your hands are full [they know me] and/ or in a wheelchair? Work from home is a chore when front desk WILL NOT accept packages or refuse to allow delivery driver in.

This is generally a good rent-to-value apartment. The exterior and common areas can appear dingy, but the interiors are generally nice. Even the un-renovated apartment we live in was clean and adequate upon move in. The fitness center is small and lacks a lot of the equipment often found in more adequate gyms.

I love my new home. Although, it was under distressing circumstances that I decided to move from my large home to an apartment. Colesville Towers has become my comfy zone and the front office has made me feel so at ease living alone.

The front desk staff is helpful and well organized. The building is older and it shows on some of the fixtures, and the rates are good for the area, but there could be more done to fix some of the clearly aged areas of the building.

Apartment appearance and condition was adequate. Management was not very good and took forever to respond. For some reason, management never sends out emails to notify you of anything. Instead they just leave a piece of paper at your door so if you are out of town you will have no idea what is going on. They have our emails but just dont use them. Front desk person would open the door for anybody that wanted to get in and then they didnt need to prove they lived there and could just walk in. Many times neighborhood kids would come into the building and smoke weed in the stairwells. If the front desk would just require residence to use their key fob to open the door and require people without a key fob to sign in and be picked up in the lobby by a resident this problem would be solved easily. I live on the top floor so I dont have many pest problems but I do have some mice and bugs periodically. Lower floors have more of a problem (but it depends on cleanliness). Quality of residents is a bit lacking but thats what you get for the price. They finally finished the garage maintenance after more than 6 months of not being able to park in my spot. I was still charged for my spot every month and would need to contact management every month to get a refund. Overall not a terrible place to live. I loved my individual apartment layout and view (top floor, one bedroom with balcony) but idk if I would have enjoyed anything about it if I wasnt on one of the upper floors.

Very disappointed. Huge scam. It's said on their website that the apartments are renovated but upon my moving i was very unhappy. Kitchen cabinets dirty, smelly and infected with roaches and roaches eggs.

When I moved in here, it was the first time living on my own. I remember how one of the maintenance workers offered to help me move my stuff from the van. The staffing are always friendly and courteous. The only utility I pay for is water, and it's usually a low number (less then $50). I will say they have issues with keeping up on pest control (cockroaches and bed bugs) having said that, everything else has been great.

As a Member of the military, my wife and I are constantly moving around. But moving into Colesville Towers was the easiest move we've had. The leasing agent was fantastic and worked with us every step of the way. And on the day of move in, the closed the freight elevator for us for a 5 hour window. And any issues we've had with the apartment, the maintenance people have been right on it.

Ms. Laverne Walker is amazing as a Property Manager and as a person. Most people are human doers all the time. Ms. Walker takes the time to actively listen to her tenants and she is always fair. Ms. Walker is always professional, kind, courteous, and KNOWS her community down to the tenants. Love it!!! Furthermore, Ms. Walker has an extremely courteous, professional and knowledgeable staff. She always provides excellent customer service and I love constant and consistent renovations to the property. Thank you Ms. Walker for all that you do ma'am!! You are very much appreciated!!

A mouse, loud music, no garage parking, leaking faucet for 3 months before fixed properly. Large apartment is great however the enjoyment is taken because of the issues. The water bill is low and no electric bill is probably why people stay.

The apartment overall is great, although leasing staff was misleading about parking availability when we initially applied - the garage is under construction until further notice. Assorted things are broken or not functioning correctly in the apartment and communal areas, and maintenance requests take well over a week to be addressed (ours are all still pending). Overall, it's a good value, but be prepared to wait to have issues addressed.

I wish I checked everything before signing the lease. The condition of the apartment was not good, kitchen has cabinets that should be replaced, oven was disgusting dirty, trays from cockroaches in the kitchen cabinets. It was leak in the kitchen.

Pre 2000 community and living condition was excellent. I am not satisfied with maintenance work performed. Proximity to shopping areas, transportation are excellent. Followup of problems noted to property manager(s) could be done better.

We reported a mouse siting a week ago. The person offered some mouse traps. Eventually we got maintenance and they paved down some of the gaps in our walls, but indicated they didn't see anything. This morning I saw a mouse run from the counter to inside the dashboard of the stove. We have had a hard time getting the eyes in the stove to come on lately, and now I wonder if this is because of the mouse inside our stove. If you look at other reviews you will see other persons in the building have reported mice being in their stoves. I am now petrified to cook on my own stove in fear that there are mice in our stove while cooking. Not to also mention, the health risk of mice: hantavirus and listeria.This does not include the effect of a ticking stove that will not ignite, which can be extremely dangerous. We are horrified by this experience, and the complex has done nothing to compensate us for this experience. This excludes a previous experience where they left a gaping hole in my ceiling for a week (which I have pictures of). This was due to a large mold/mildew spot inside of the ceiling. They had a loud machine blowing air into it for a week. At one point the plastic connecting the machine to the wall had fallen down, leaving the inside of the ceiling fully exposed (which I have pictures of). When I asked them to fix this they mentioned maintenance was not on duty. It wasn't until I threatened to contact the health department that someone put tape over the hole, which eventually fell apart again. Please beware of moving here, as they have several issues here which could be hazardous to your health.
