Colesville Towers' as a place to live has deteriorated in the last few years. Part of that decline comes for how management maintains the property and how they communicate with residents. Mice continue to be a problem as well.

Good location. Friendly staff. Good amenities. Clean. Well maintained. Roomy apartment. Good closet space. Comfortable temperature in the apartment most of the time. Utilities being invluded in the rent bill is a plus.

Other than the ongoing state of the gym, with its broken TVs and broken equipment, its dirty machines and chronic lack of alcohol wipes, and other than the former issue of the roaches, no resolved thankfully, I've been very satisfied. The people especially, both neighbors and staff, are very friendly.

I loved living in this apartment building until 2 years ago when new management came. They are disrespectful, blame all problems on there tenants, fail to upkeep the apartments. Are overpriced people to keep up with the area but won't keep us safe from strangers walking through our building. If you have a choice to live somewhere that is roach, rat or environmental hazard free, or secure. choose there, your life and sanity is worth more. Take it from me.

Lived in this apartment complex for two years. Can't even begin to describe how awful my experience was. This place should be shut down. The con starts when you walk into their overly done lobby. They talk the place up and tell you how wonderful everything is and for the first few weeks it seems true. Suddenly, the cockroaches and mice appear. If you walked into my kitchen between 7pm-6am there were literally roaches everywhere. Climbing up walls, in my microwave, even in the dishwasher! They sprayed and things only got worse. The air ducts are so incredibly dirty and moldy. I constantly felt sick and missed work and my otherwise very healthy Jack Russell suddenly got sick and died shortly after. Oh and to top it off the lady at the front desk managed to lose THREE of our packages one being my contract of employment. Talk about a horrible, horrible experience. Please take my word and don't give these crooks your hard earned money.

I just moved in my new studio on November 24th, I am really happy living here. When I was search for apartment I went online and saw a lot of negative comments about colesville towers because of the cockroach and mice, but I only saw three cockroach (acceptable to me) within the three weeks since I moved in and never see mouse. Except the water (20 to 25 dollars per month per person) and internet, the rental fee contain all the other utilities. Their maintenance is good, I asked for repair my windows and disposable spin, they solved my problems within a week. Their package service also very nice, I can always get my package easily. The location is really convenient, the night scene around the community is beautiful. I will suggest colesville towers to others based on my current experience.

Great Apartment and location! It's very convenient to Silver Spring downtown area. However the property is poorly managed and the leasing office staff is extremely incompetent and they are not transparent with extra fees. Example- I confirmed the amount due prior to moving in and was quoted a completely different amount and was only informed after I spoke with the Assistant Property Manager- please keep in mind payment was tendered on Nov. 1. In addition to that they lost my renter's insurance which resulted in a delayed move-in date.

This complex has become below average since 2014. Tok many issues with maintenance. It's very frustrating for a resident that spends most of her time at home and would like to live peacefully with no recurring problems and unwanted guests.

I wish I could love this apartment; I stayed here long enough hoping it would get better (or at least not get worse), and it hasn't. Here are my issues: - There's an odd arbitrary system in place where we pay for water that we don't use in an "all utilities included" apartment. In a one bedroom apartment with only two people, there is no reason why we should be paying $40-80 a month in water. Like I said, very arbitrary. - Air conditioning is turned on way too late and cut off way too early. It was nearly 80 degrees yesterday, and this happens every year. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I can't sleep while sweltering in my bed. - When anything serious occurs in the building, we get a few hours notice, if we're lucky. - Kitchen and bathroom need to be updated. - Location is very convenient and generally safe, however, despite new key fob entry system the back door is often left open at night as well as one of the garages. - Maintenance is responsive and friendly, but building mechanical systems are unreliable and under repaired. - Lack of parking enforcement in garage cause surprises. - The ventilation in the hallways is poor. This could be a great apartment building, but it's not. And that's a shame. The surrounding area is fantastic, but we still have to live in this building. When the lease is up, we'll be leaving.

I find Colesville Towers to be one of the best for those who wish to stay in apartments. I received all support from the Management and the people living in this Tower as and when needed. I wish all the team from Colesville to be part of my family.

Nice building. It is getting old so alot of maintenance is needed. A lot of plumbing problems and water disruptions. My biggest complaint is the air conditioning. I live on the sunny side of the building and in the spring and fall my apartment reaches 90 degrees some days due to no a/c. The management waits too late to turn it on in the spring and turns it off a little too early in the fall. It's like living in an oven during these times. Also more notice should be given for non emergency apt entry such as pest control.

This building is in the best location in downtown Silver Spring. You can walk to everything in under 10 minutes -- Metro, movies, CVS, 3 grocery stores (WF, Giant, and Safeway), TONS of restaurants, the new SS library, doctor's offices, gyms (Golds and LA Fitness) and pretty much anything else you need. HOWEVER, the location is the ONLY redeeming factor of this building. Management overpromises on improvements they are making and then if those improvements are made at all, they are done both extremely late (the laundry room was out of service for 7 (not a typo) weeks and the new gym really only added one elliptical machine. In the past year alone, I've had endless cockroaches, leaking from my upstairs neighbor's air conditioner, and most recently came home from a work trip to a toilet that had overflowed. The managers communicate extremely poorly and it feels like you have to go through a screening process by the concierges just to talk to them. Save yourself the headache and look at other places nearby in Silver Spring. It's such a great neighborhood but you can do better than Colesville Towers.

It's the worst place ever! They push you to put the application and they pretend they want to approve you.. the game takes few days, even weeks bc they want you to get mad and walk away! In the end you find yourself on the street bc of their strategy. They choose people! Be aware!

It is has been really good so far! Big one bedroom apartment for great value in a good location. I like the walking convenience to the metro and grocery/shopping/food center. Also, love their pet friendly apartment. A dog park is coming soon which I am very excited about.

Just started, it will take some time to form an opinion. still, at the beginning, it is a good experience and I recommend others this tower for residence, tough there are some minor issues like roaches inside the house, etc. Hope management will take care of these type of minor issues.

They did not allow to see the apartment before signing the lease. lot of works were to be done but these works were not carried out which creates lot of problem as we came in the apartment with all our stuff. the style of solving the problems is not professional.

The building has great prices because it is badly run and very gross. The hallways are never cleaned and there are cockroaches. So far this year they have turned off the heat on the coldest day of that year and they have shut off the air on the hottest days.

High turnover rate with the leasing staff. Hot water is constantly shut off for various "upgrades". A/C Unit is on a temperature gauge so when the temp outside gets cooler the unit will not blow cool air. Roaches area big problem in the building.

Generally, the maintenance staff are all responsive and courteous. The carpeting in the hallways need to be cleaned more frequently. The building may need to consider using a different material on the floors in the hallways. I have been waiting for a company to clean my the terraces on my their for several weeks (originally planned for the week of May 2). The last update for this work indicated that the our their would be done this week. I see no sign that the work will be completed by Friday, May 20. Since May 2, I have had to store the plants and furniture from my terrace in my living room.

Great deal for Silver Spring. Im very happy here, but it it's definitely a business, not a community. Terrible deal for the US. Very nice, huge apartments. Pool hours are only 12-7pm. The laundry room has been closed for 10 weeks and has been very poorly managed. I get the feeling that front desk staff and management dont have a lot of support from Ross properties. They cut off the AC too soon in the season and the apartments are very hot. The workout room is pretty scant. The maintainence team are wonderful. Very nice people live here.

I keep to myself mostly. I like the apartment for it's convenience but it does have roaches and my windows do not block out noise on the street. There is a mix of people and my neighbors are mostly quiet. The building staff are very friendly and they have events, I just don't attend them.

I don't have any complaints so far. The community is really nice with lots to do and I feel safe there but I just moved a week ago so I do not have much to say about my experience quite yet. Silver spring is very nice and my apartment is nice although I will say it does not seem to compete with other apartments who offer more fun things to do and a better overall presentation

The best part about the building is the helpful and friendly staff like Karyne. She is patient and responsive and is always willing to help.
