My experience here has been pretty good, large living space, affordable, garage, and very little noise. My only complaint is the place is covered in litter all the time. In front of my patio garbage is thrown, parking lot garbage everywhere. Very annoying.

I really love living here. Where I am it is quiet and peaceful. Whenever I needed something looked at Maintenence was here in a reasonable time frame. All the tenants in my building keep to themselves besides a hello in passing. The cleaning ladies do a really good job and the place looks really good when they are done. I love the respect I get from everyone. The parking lot is usually quiet expect an occasional car alarm going off usually from thunder. There are a lot of cops driving around keeping it safe. Rent is kinda high but it's high everywhere. Walmart is right across the street plus other stores in walking distance. The bus stop is near so there is no issue there. The staff is professional and curious and nice to work with. You do hear a lot of sirens because of Alpine but it's tolerable. I've been here a long time and I'm not planning to leave any time soon.

It's been horrible. I have had constant flooding for 3 years. The upstairs neighbors who flood me. And their kids constantly are playing in the hallway, and pounding on the ground. That apartment yelled at me cause my dogged barked at his car door opening. Which we pulled in two seconds before him. And lots of times my dog is loins. Then just sleeps. But a nose like a slamming car dooor he'll bark at. Not to mention the office staff?? Terrible.

I already lived here for five years in a two bedroom and just needed more space so decided to go with a loft with washer and dryer. It was cheaper to change apartment and not move out of YC completely

Same thing all over years I have been here. Nothing has changed in the apartment but the rent going up and up. When you call to change something, they want to make sure it is not usable before replacing it

KHOLS BY MICHEALS IS HIRING From meijer Brenda (Meijer) Corner of third street and summit Tabletop con Marmaladedog (Kalamazoo) Campingcarl #4610 I want to start off by saying the 2-star rating on places like Google are absolutely wrong. Sure, the apartment complex isn't a perfect 5-star grand hotel, but it deserves much better. My experience I'm about to reveal will be a little long, but may sway your opinion so buckle up: I have a few psychological disabilities that really limit my life, one being I cannot drive due to PTSD. I was practically taken care of by my mother until she had an aneurism when I was 28 years old- she had to live with my sister (who lived two hours away) for recovery, and I stayed home to take care of the plants, animals and house. We lived out in the country -farmland and forests- in the rural area of Livingston county. The only mode of transportation (that wasn't my mother) was a special county bus called L.E.T.S bus. It's similar to The Rapid GO Bus (not the main The Rapid Bus that runs a set route). I had no nearby friends or family that could drive me places. I knew I needed to move to a city area with more modes of transportation options if I were to live independently. When I turned 30 in 2022, I got a large lump sum of money as part of a settlement from when I was in a near fatal car accident at 9 years old (hence the driving PTSD). I had plans to put all of it towards an apartment because I could not keep working a job in Livingston if I moved to another county (especially Grand Rapids which is almost 2 hours away). Almost every city in the lower peninsulaI that I looked at turned me down because I was not actively working, even when providing bank statements to prove I had money. York Creek was the only one who gave me the chance. Rebecca at the leasing office was extremely helpful and friendly and I had very little problems in communicating with the office over the span of a week or two. Even during an extremely stressful event where I practically broke down in a panic attack over a time sensitive issue/event. The condition I had to agree to in order to move in was to pay a year's worth of rent in advance, and when the next September came around (the month I moved in) I have to re-apply to show I had found a job that is stable and can meet my needed monthly rent. If I do not meet the requirements needed then I'll be evicted, which I believe is extremely fair. So once I moved in, the addition of being able to walk to places, ride my bike, take Uber/Lyft, etc. made living independently perfect. My 2-bedroom apartment (I live alone but needed an extra room for an art studio/office) is beautiful and spacious enough for me. It may not be in perfect condition, but everything that was or may be an issue is extremely minimal. When I realized I had a faulty fridge, maintenance was quick to replace it with a brand new one. When one of the kitchen drawers broke (the apartment I'm in is one of the fairly older buildings), they too were quick to come back and fix it. It's now a little harder to open than the other drawers, but maintenance did their best and having to pull a little harder than usual is an easy and acceptable sacrifice. Each member of the maintenance team that I met have been friendly and professional. Sure, the hallways can be a little dirty and some disrespectful tenants leave wrappers or little trash items on the ground, but it was never "filthy". Plus, my apartment itself is clean so why should the condition of the hallway bother me if it's not piled with garbage on every floor? Every tenant I've met has either been friendly or at least respectful, even the ones who I know have radically different beliefs and views than me have had decent behavior. When I first moved in, my garage had accidentally opened a few times and I wouldn't notice. The remote opener I kept on my lanyard was really sensitive and the slightest pressure against the button would connect and the range of the device was pretty far. Either the neighbor I made friends with would text me to say it was open, or I'd realize it when I came back from an outing or to take things to the dumpster or garage itself. A few times the garage had been left open all night! I would thoroughly check to make sure everything was still there and each time everything was! No one decided to take the opportunity to steal any of my possessions. When there did happen to be an inconvenience or annoyance regarding other tenants (not picking up their dog's waste, smoking marijuana in the hallway, etc.) the staff would respond, leaving detailed notes on the building door as a warning to stop/fix the situation or face termination. My only real negative opinions are very few in comparison to the positives: that being the way the complex's signs are numbered (it's extremely confusing to navigate for Ubers/Lyfts, bus, friends/family, etc. and even GPS can't help half the time because it has a fit) and the price to do laundry seems a little steep- $3 for one load ($1.50 for the washer, $1.50 for the dryer) considering my rent covers everything except electricity and wifi. I've also had some noise complaints when a neighbor moved in with a group of young and rowdy children right above me, but the apartment staff were quick to talk to them after I phoned in my complaint. The kids still get rowdy a lot, but now it's more tolerable (young kids will always forget to control their energy after all, that's to be expected). Again, any issues I have are completely bearable and worth it for the rest of my experience. Now I've only lived here for around seven months, but I've noticed some very low reviews come from people who had lived in the complex for a few years or more. However, reading their complaints made it clear that they were likely expecting practical perfection which isn't realistic. They also complained mostly about other tenants, but that isn't the fault of the complex itself or staff. Maybe my opinion will change in a few years (granted if I can find a job in this current economy that meets my rent requirement. The job I have now isn't enough), but from my experience so far, I have a feeling my final opinions won't change much over the course of time: Despite any issues or annoyances, they are completely bearable in comparison to the rest of my experience. York Creek definitely deserves more than 2 stars.

I don't understand why the rent keeps going up so much I wish that they would think about the people that work that are not on welfare and not on section 8 because it's struggle for us to pay the rent it's just been a challenge I have to work two jobs and have no free time to be anything else

I have not had any problems while living in York creek apartments, the grounds could be kept up a little better and office staff could be a little bit nicer and considerate and knowledgeable. Over all I give it a 7

First of all, when I moved in, I was promised a new cabinet drawer to replace the broken one when I moved in and the drawer was never replaced. Second, my apartment wasn't as clean as it should have been. I spent two days cleaning the apartment. Third, the apartments are outdated. The interior of the apartment has old brown cabinets with an old air conditioner unit in the wall. Aside from that, I'm located in a quiet peaceful area where my neighbors are kind and respectful. I don't have to fight for a parking spot and the grounds are kept nice and clean. It's a safe place to live and convenient to nearby shopping. Not to mention quick access to the majior highways and the short commute to the city of Grand Rapids.

I really like it here, close to stores, the staff has been helpful and polite, easy to work with. I like the garage, a place you can put your car and not have the snow on it. The decks are nice to have in the summer.

My experience honestly has not been the best. There is an on going issue with mold in this apartment as well as others that I've talked to. There is ongoing issue with The water being cold, which hinders me from taking a nice hot shower after work. The issue is resolved pretty quick however the root problem needs to be rectified. This happens at least 1-2 / month and it is extremely frustrating. When I first decided to move into York Creek I had intentions on moving into a loft however I was told the day of my move that the loft wasn't available due to bugs?so I had to move into 2 bedroom apt which was less but not the space I had planned on. These just a few of my experiences but I hope yours is way better.

You will enjoy views of trash, diapers and ------ wipes hanging from trees. The shrieks & cursing day and night lull you into a fetal position. No street lights, unsafe to walk. Black mold is an added bonus. Some appliances work. Advice, look elsewhere for your home.

It is a decent apartment for the price you pay. They do try to keep the surrounding appearance updated, but if you live in your apartment a while they will not care if things like your dishwasher or refrigerator are getting older and begin to fail. Also, they left our building with a broken washer for nearly 6 months because they were waiting on a parts order to fix it. It is clearly already an extremely old and deteriorating washing machine. Things like that are pretty unacceptable when they raise rent at $50 plus each year per tenant. Otherwise, it is a good place and staff is always friendly.

We have been struggling with the maintenance team and management to have noise and disruptions reported and handled. Since I've lived here the neighbors have has multiple cop visits due to violate behavior and their apartment is extremely dirty and smelly. Multiple times I have called and unable to reach anyone for hours to report or speak to people about the issue. I feel our concerns are NOT being met at this time.

I like the experience, but I don't enjoy waking up to noises coming from the hallway that sound like vacuuming the hallways at 9 am. I get out late from work & would appreciate consideration on what time to do that for 3rd/2nd workers who are trying to rest. 12pm would be a good time I think. Thank you

Moving in our experience was poor. We were told the day before the unit we were supposed to get wouldn't be ready for at least 90 days. Additionally we were told we cant have dogs in this building eventhough there is no language in the lease agreement preventing dog ownership.

This place is okay! But they need to buckle down even more on who they let in. Also they need to really start enforcing the lease agreement, because I see violators Everyday!! They told me that this area is income based and that's why it is the way it is. That's ridiculous, they need to step up their game.

York Creek is a good budget complex. It's nothing fancy, and you do run into some issues here and there but overall I'm happy with the situation, especially given that the rent is fairly reasonable for the area. Maintenance takes awhile to get to things, and we've had one instance of a car being broken into with nothing stolen, but otherwise no major issues.

My experience here has been absolutely terrible. The heat constantly goes out and maintenance takes their time to handle the situation. I've had numerous of plumbing issues. The first day I moved in, I didn't have hot water. Sewage is always coming out of my tub. The lines are backed up. It causes my sinks and tub to make bubbling sounds. I had a mold issue. It was caused by the flood from the above apartment. It took over a month to fix the issue. The complex did not want to give any compensation for my damaged items. I had to file a complaint with the Attorney General. The only way I was able to get some money knocked off of my rent was to sign a new lease!! I will not be renewing my lease. I wouldn't recommend this place to a homeless person.

It's an ok place, will say that when they want to they will get things done and help you. If they don't you will be waiting forever on them to fix the drywall from a leak that happens it the unit above.

York creek was very helpful from the beginning. I had to be put on a waitlist when I first applied. Once there was an apartment available our agent Eric was really good about getting things going right away. Since I have lived at York Creek I have had no issues with the property.
