Great and easy!

Diamond was beyond helpful in getting us an apartment as soon as possible. She was amazing to work with and made the process quick and easy. Bre walked us through the apartment and everything looked great! They listened to our needs and wants and were able to get us into an apartment that fit the bill. We noticed the complex was proactive and salted all walkways before the expected snow storm this week. The laundry facility and hallway in our apartment were clean and smelled good. Overall the experience was great

I moved to Grand Rapids from Lansing, Michigan in mid 2023 to pursue new employment opportunities. Overall, I am satisfied with what the apartment offers as I learn the new city. However, I am not in a remodeled unit and there have been more maintenance issues than I would've liked. The staff have been timely in addressing the issues, so it hasn't been too bad!

First 3 years were amazing. Year 4 one of our cars was stolen. Year 5 the grounds have not been kept up especially after a holiday and the trash is overflowing all over the parking lot. It is so depressing driving in. The trash trucks come and then the overflow spills out onto the parking lot, and it doesn't get picked up. It blows everywhere.

York Creek is very accommodating and friendly. For every roadblock or hurdle that was in front of us Bre and the team they helped out 100%. I was doing a long-distance move and they were super helpful with keeping in touch.

Terrible. Units are severely outdated, nothing gets fixed, bugs and black mold are common, management won't do anything about noisy neighbors, rent just keeps going up. York creek will do tons of work to increase its curb appeal, but even that work is shoddy and not to code. (My new handrail around my deck can be pushed out about 40? with no effort because it's mounted to rotten wood.)

I like where I live and don't have plans to move, and my friend has been here over 10 years, it is close to everything and generally quiet, but you should be prepared for a lack of interest in the residence from the Property manager, an unprofessional front office that struggles with answering the phone, proper filing and responding to calls or emails.

Started off okay but slowly declined as time went on, and is the absolute worst place to live at. There's a reason this place has a bad rep. Loud neighbors, smelly hallways, dogs never leashed outside and constantly barking, upstairs neighbor vacuuming and playing loud music at night, and cars getting broken into. The worst part is that the management doesn't care and does absolutely nothing to properly manage their property. I've made countless complaints of neighbors not following the lease, and not once has the problems ever been resolved. At one point the management gave an excuse that "whatever is in the past is in the past." Whatever that means since the past problems are currently still happening. Management sent out a newsletter about noise complaints and what they will do to mitigate it. Yet the very same day I made a complaint, I get told to call the police because they don't handle that. Curious what the management actually does because their job to "manage" is not it.

The yearly pricing increase has been insane. The quality if the apartments for the amount of rent is unacceptable. Everything is cheap and the bare minimum is done to fix anything. Even the exterior of the buildings are poorly maintained.

It beats being homeless...

They rent to a lot of bad people. I am aware of garages being broken into regularly (some are verified as criminal tenants). Kids run around unsupervised. Shootings. Car thefts. Break-ins. Bad neighbors who steal from those around them. Huge noise issues that they refuse to deal with. They raise the rent on average $100/month at lease renewals with no improvements whatsoever with those rate hikes. Floods due to negligent neighbors or shoddy sprinkler systems. Fires. If it can happen, it's here! There used to be better security, but Yorkcreek cut back dramatically years ago. Crime increased. Security is given no real authority. I used to pick up garbage all over and sweep the entryway to our building regularly because Yorkcreek doesn't bother. It also shows the attitude of the horrible people they rent to. People don't pick up after their dogs. Do NOT rent a bottom floor apartment. Everyone in the world thinks you are the door person. Kids staring in your windows and trying to climb into your apartment. People walking their dogs up to your windows. You should see what's sprayed all over my windows, and I just cleaned them! They honestly don't care about the renter except to get paid. Poor record keeping. Expect erroneous eviction notices and blatant threats from management due to poor record keeping on their part. I could be more specific and detailed, but no one is here to read a novel. Renter beware! Seriously? You want identifiable information in order to post? For what? So you can evict me for telling the truth? I'd give you a negative star rating if it was possible. Unfortunately, there is nowhere else to move to. Oh, and after I was PROMISED by management that they would move me, they have now refused. It's been over a year since that lying promise. My carpeting is puckered everywhere from age and the flooding. THEY DON'T CARE!

Not terrible, but not great. Maintenance department seems to answer requests in a timely manner and have always done a good job for me. The rent prices are absolutely stupid though. It's a robbery in that sense. Rented an extra garage at $70/month flat, then the price increased when I renewed the lease for my apartment, which is completely uncalled for, seeing as how my apartment rent was already increased by $91/month. I also renewed my lease online, which did not require me to upload any documents, and then I received an eviction notice in the mail because I did not provide my renters insurance during the online renewal. If the renters insurance is mandatory, then make it mandatory when tenants renew online. And a phone call would have been the least you could have done prior to sending me the eviction notice. I did, however, provide my renters insurance to the leasing office after I had received the eviction notice and it was waived, but I still had to take time off of work to address the issue because your system is not set up properly.

The apartment experience has been reasonable. The only complaints I have is the excessive noise and rent increase each year. It would be great if noise complaints were dealt with right away regardless of the time of day, It also will be great if there was a cap on rent after number of years living in the apartment.

The apartment complex is always messy, my neighbors leave trash in the hallways and outside the building. People who aren't handicapped will park in handicapped spaces but nothing seems to be really done about it. Some other residents are nice and quiet, but my neighbors are constantly playing loud music and their children are always running around in the hallways and screaming and crying, so it's really hard to relax after work and it's hard to have a WFH job. Other residents really aren't reprimanded unless you complain a bunch. On the positive side, the apartment complex has garages which is nice, and the apartments aren't too expensive for the area. Maintenance people are usually always friendly.

First time apartment

This was my first time looking into an apartment with my boyfriend and 2 of our close friends. We’ve looked at a few different places but when we came to York Creek we were approached with a welcoming smile from Diamond. She helped us search and find what was right for us. She was so helpful and I really enjoyed her personality and patience plus she was extremely professional and presented herself very nicely. She explained everything very clear and now because of her help we are about to have our first apartment and we couldn’t be happier! I highly recommend having Diamond as a leasing agent:)

When I first moved in I saw so many mistakes, I saw few walls scratched up, doors were loose, everything was sticky, and I also had broken drawers in the kitchen. Basically they need to improve on making sure the apartments are clean and everything fixed not give someone an apartment half way done. Over all its okay.

Don't expect a good maintenance service, after six months I'm still waiting for them to fix the garage door and pressure wash the balcony that smell like dog urine, all of this issues because of previous owners.

Rent is a great price when you move in but after year one it went up by almost $75. There are little to no amenities, buildings are constantly unsecured (tenants break the doors and maintenance never fixes). Little to nothing is done about noise complaints, parking is awful and maintenance requests are constantly closed with no resolution.

Honestly we have had a couple bumps here and there but for the amount of rent we pay I guess it's too be expected. Maintenance does not respond quick, the office staff never communicates properly amongst themselves and the cleaning crew for the building do not clean the 2nd or 3rd floor of our building. Could be better but again for the amount they charge in rent it's to be expected.
