Extremely disappointed in York Creek. The only reason we went through with the application process was because we were crunched for time and needed to find something. It started with Stacy. She was horrible at her job. Extremely incompetent. Second, the apartments start literally falling apart after about 6 months. Maintenance has only answered 3 of our many requests. Under the sinks are all caving in and there is mold on the window sills. Our vehicle was towed and ZERO info on where to find it was given. The better business bureau will be getting involved for sure.

The apartment was a roof with a detached garage. The handy men that came to fix things were polite and fixed the items with the cheapest possible solution which then looked tacky. There's no lighting for the entire living room, and the hallways always smell of marijuana. You can call and York creek will just boot a tenant then replace with a new problem. The tenants overall decent hardworking people and kept to themselves. The worst thing about york creek is the move out. They will offer you proration to move out early but 6 weeks later you might get a deposit check back but definitely not a proration check. They never fill the apartment because you already paid the month. I am giving the office the two stars. The building gets three stars and the tenants get three stars. Oh and make sure the apartment you see is what you get. I was baited and switched with my moving truck ten minutes behind me.

My wife and I moved into York Creek apartments in November. And for the first month or so it wasnt too bad of a place to live. But then the problems started to pile up. So the neighbors above us decided to move someone else into their apartment and with that person came a child... a child with led feet who thinks the floors are their own personal trampoline. And LOVES to jump off furniture making it sound like bowling balls are being dropped above us and also loves to run around and scream with their siblings from 7am until 10 at night on a daily basis. So because of the noise we would occasionally bang on our ceiling to say "hey excuse me we can hear you". And because we were choosing to not put up with their noise we get a call from the office saying that we need to stop banging on the ceiling and let security take care of it. So we didnt want to stir up trouble so we stopped. A few days later we try to talk to Jamie Hourren about whats going on and she said that we received complaints towards us for banging on our ceiling... on a day that we werent even home... so the people above us are now lieing and making false complaints towards us. We continued to talk with Jamie about what we could do and she informed us that everything that was going on was just "apartment living". So apparently apartment living consists of the people above you can sound like a heard of elephants at a bowling alley all day but the second you try to get some peace and quiet you get scolded. At this point we were becoming tired of dealing with our neighbors so we went to the office to talk to Jamie again and asked if we could just transfer to a loft to resolve the conflict. She said that she would talk to the property manager and see if we could transfer. so we waited and got a call saying that they looked over everything and the only way we can transfer is if we pay $700 to cancel our current lease and then pay a minimum of $500 to start up a new lease. And they told us before that it was possible for them to wave the fees but that they "just cant". We tried to address this problem with the office and they said that if we have a noise complaint, it has to be "verified" to even become a noise complaint. In order to get it verified we have to call security or Jamie Hourren (resident relations in the office) and they have to come out and come in your home and wait for the noise to happen. After calling security or Jamie 14 times in 2.5 months we got 2 "verified" complaints... but only one made it to the office... so one didnt even count. All the other times they just get a call to be told to quiet down and yet the noise continues. our lovely neighbors have learned how to get around getting caught (i.e they look out for security or Jamie when they know the kids are being loud or listen for a knock on our door and stop all the kids... then wait for whomever is in our apartment to leave and then lets them continue what they were doing. Unfortunately that isnt the only problem we have had with said neighbors. One day i was "going about my business" when i started getting rained on by yellow-brown water from our ceiling vent! Yep... PISS WATER... The people above us flooded their bathroom toilet SO MUCH it started draining into our bathroom through the ventilation fan. so then our entire bathroom got flooded. we called security/emergency maintenance and they came over said the toilet was unclogged and left. 6 hours later our bathroom is flooded again and our carpet is soaked. So yet again we call for help they come in and say the toilet is unclogged and if it happens again to call. When we went to Jamie with this problem, we were yet again informed this is "apartment living". And after ALL THIS we have a newborn who has been woken up multiple times by the kids above us as well as ourselves. It is now to the point where my family and I are no longer living in the apartment we are paying for. So if you enjoy loud neighbors, awful maintenance, office staff who blow your problems aside and literally and figuratively being pissed on York Creek is the right place for you.

I have rented here several times and recently after moving back in from out of state came back to York Creek. I would like to share the management has done an excellent job in making it a safe and nice community to live in. It is a city within a city and people must understand it has as many as 5000 people living here. I would recommend it and give it a 5 star! We rented in many states and the apartments were much pricier and not near as nice nor the grounds as well kept. The maintenance is fast and efficient. The apartments are quality and very clean upon move in. The Office Staff is polite, friendly and very helpful. I have not seen anything near Land and Company's Apartments anywhere. They are quality and well maintained. Garage and Heat are included as well. We live in an upgraded 2 bedroom with Granite Countertops and all the extras for a very low price. This is a great place to live!

I would never recommend York Creek to anyone the way they do business is wrong they have bed bugs and 57 buildings they've already been to my apartment and sprayed twice they have to come and spray three times and you have to move everything from your apartment it's a big inconvenience for everyone I would never ever live in York Creek again

The front desk associate, Tara F, has been very helpful to me. I had an issue with my garage door opening periodically and my storage space becoming insecure. She was prompt with getting it repaired and is a friendly person to work with.

Started off working with Trevor, had to keep calling to get any info from him in regards to if we were approved or not. Finally i call and he says we were approved and we put $100 down to hold an apartment, we were given an address and it was ours right? WRONG!!!! we had a 2 bedroom on the second floor with second floor entry, and a deck overlooking woods with a move in date of January 29th. We were called and informed that the apartment was "trashed" and we could not rent it, but that they had one if we wanted it, it was available on the 14th, well we were saving money for the deposit and first months rent, so this would add to the rent. so that was a no go. Then on the 27th of January, after not hearing anything for weeks, we got a call from Ashley and said she had the keys for an apartment, and that we could look at it. we went to look at it, then were informed we had 24 hours to come up with a decision and money, or someone else was going to take it. When we asked if we could wait for the original one we wanted, they said it had already been rented out. We were told it was trashed and wouldn't be ready for the Jan 29th move in date, but somehow its already rented out. We were forced to accept the apartment, even though it is up a flight of stairs, and overlooks a road. So then we had 24 hours to get insurance, cable, and everything else in line, while working a full time job. Ashley was very pushy in her demeanor and not a very friendly people person. We asked if she could do anything to help us since they screwed up, all we got was "sorry, i can't do anything" but had no problem taking our money. We then go to move in, and do some laundry, only to find gum, a used sanitary pad in our washer and dryer and gum stuck in the carpets. Called maintenance to clean it, because it was supposed to be clean when we moved in. They gave us lip service and 2 days later we are still waiting to do laundry. Although it is affordable, they do not seem to have enough people on staff to keep the paperwork straight, and it feels like you are just another body to fill the apartment, and not important to them.

Started with Trevor. Showed me three apartments. Great to work with. Had questions that the manager had to answer. At this point worked with Jen Shea- AWESOME. All my questions were answered particularly the security of the area. It helped that she lived at the complex. Once moved in had an issue with the water pressure in the shower. Their guys looked at it. Still not corrected. They called a contractor that came out SAME DAY. After speaking with him- HE WENT THE EXTRA MILE and fixed it right. I'm a (former) homeowner living as a rentor and I have not been this comfortable since having my own home. I highly recommend them. Tell Jen 'Ynot' sent you!!!

As a young single professional right out of college I found it difficult to find a place that was affordable in GR. However after looking at York Creek I found it very affordable and I loved the high ceilings and extra space in my 1 Bedroom Loft. I looked at several other apartment complexes in GR before choosing York Creek. I was warned by family members and co-workers that York Creek didn't have the best reputation and it was recommended that I didn't live there. I chose to sign the lease anyways. I've lived at York Creek for about a month now and it's great. I have a garage for my car, I love how much space I have in my apartment and my leasing agent Deena Scianimanico has been more than helpful throughout the entire process. I love how she greets me by name when I see her and I can email her about any questions I may have. Another thing that I like about York Creek is that I can easily pay my rent online through an online payment portal and set up automatic payments. The only "bad" things I would have to say 1. Sometimes the hallway is loud however once I close my door I can't hear anything 2. The hallway smells like pot regularly, don't mind it personally (although I don't smoke pot) But I would be much more bothered by it if I had children. Overall I would recommend York Creek to other young people in a similar situation.

We moved from south Carolina to Michigan and were looking for a place to live and we found York creek. Deena Scianimanico was a really big help in getting us the place we wanted and we now have a lively view of the woods from our back deck. It is a very affordable place for a family or just a single person. They have great spacious apartments. I would recommend applying there and asking for Deena.

Has mostly been a good time living here with a few exceptions. I have had it where they have lost my rent check and then when I checked in on it to get taken care of I ended up having to pay on a debit card and do a stop check for the check they lost. To cap it all off they sent me a letter saying "pay the rent or else" luckily I paid it the day before but one would think they would be more understanding since I have been working with them on finding the missing check for days.

Just had to move in a hurry and Jen Shea, my leasing agent, was incredible. Helpful with everything, honest and funny and a great big help for me. Apartment is huge!! 2 bedroom 1 and a half bath with loft. They painted for me, put in new countertops and new carpet. Very quiet so far, nice neighbors in my building that held the door for me as I was moving stuff in. Only improvement in the move in process would be to put cones up at one of the very front door parking spots for NEW RESIDENT MOVE IN PARKING ONLY. I would think that would make the welcome here Over The Top, and would be greatly appreciated by all. Cannot best the price per sqare foot and location. Look forward to staying here awhile. I rrally like that you have to pass a backhround and criminal check to rent here or move in here.

I have only been living here for just under a month but have had no issues. I have a friend that has lived here for a couple years and feels the same way. I had come here to visit multiple times for the weekend and never seen or had any issues as to one of the reasons with my move I chose this place. I had a small problem with my stove when I moved in but it was taken care of very quickly and done right. Jen Shea was my leasing agent who showed me around and took me through every step of the process of different prices per apartment, different layouts, down payments and any other questions I had. We walked around to 3 or 4 different apartments to see the difference and was in no way rushed or felt taken advantage of. For the price I can't complain. I get a garage, only pay for electricity and a free gym membership. Thank you Jen Shea.

York Creek Apartments is a great place to live in. To start with the agent that help me was very friendly and helpful she also was just as excited as I was getting my apartment... She walked me through the property showed me the value of the place and made sure I understood the entire process. Other places told me it would take a couple days to get me approved but Jen Shea took me to her desk ask me few questions and told congratulation you're approved.. It was that simple of a process that other places made suck a big process!! I love the place and get exactly what I wanted for great price!! Thank you Jen Shea all you've done for me!

I lived at York Creek for a total of 5.5 years in 2 different buildings. Maintenance: They are quick to respond to any issue but I agree with others when they say they do "quick fixes". For instance, when my base heater broke, the maint. person shortened the front cover of the heater which allowed the inner workings of the heater to show at all times. It was really an eye sore but they fixed the heater. I also had multiple mold problems and all they did was clean up the mold and spray some stuff on it. They didn't stop the wet source causing the mold so it kept coming back. Office staff: The office staff is extremely helpful but definitely has some issues with staff turnover. Most of the staff try hard to help you out but it's hard to help when you're brand new. Pet policy: If you have a cat, they require you to declaw the animal. I see this as intrusive to my ethical wishes for my animal. I was able to talk with them and got the manager to OK my cat without requiring her to be declawed. Snow removal: Like others, the snow removal on the roads and sidewalks has historically been slow. I understand York Creek is huge but at least plow the main road first! The hill coming up from 4 mile is dangerous in the winter so beware. This past winter I did see some improvement but it's still lacking. Apartment/Building/Garage: The building I lived in for the past 3 years was generally quiet and was vacuumed at least 1x week. It was smelly, but what do you expect with all the crap people bring in or drop on the carpet. Also, my apartment had many stress cracks in the walls that I watched get bigger every year. This tells me the buildings are not structurally sound and/or not built on stable ground. The garage is really an added bonus which helped keep my car clean while adding extra storage space or a place to work on your car. Move out: Moving out was easy as I took the buy out option (only $300!). Once you sign everything all you have to do is turn in your keys and garage remote through the rent drop box. No need to stop by the office at all. It did, however, take them 35 days from my move-out date to receive the move out charge summary. Overall: I would live in York Creek again if I had no other option. I enjoyed my 1bdrm + loft apartment mainly because of the washer/dryer in unit but also that I faced the trees and not the parking lot. The office has improved a lot of things since I originally lived there in '08 with a friend.

Everything at York Creek is exactly what i have been looking for. The maintenance responds quickly and gets the problem fixed in a quick and efficient way. Updates to anything regarding the lease is notified to the leaseholder. Our leasing consultant, Lupe Torres, did an amazing job finding us an apartment despite all the confusion and trouble. York Creek is a great place to live!

I have been living at York Creek for about a month. I love my apartment! My only real peeve is that I didnt ask for a non smoking building and I am in a smoking building and really wish I wasnt. But the maitanence staff is awesome and quick to help. The leasing office is great! They are all very warm and friendly and super helpful. I have 2 toddlers that love the park at York Creek and where are building is has a wooded view that we are able to enjoy the wildlife from! Also, it is a convenient location - near everything without feeling like you are in the middle of it! And I am a Spectrum Health employee and they give discounts for that! Jen Shea was our leasing agent and I would highly suggest speaking with her if you call York Creek! :)

Hi my name is Ric and I want to tell Yourk Creek how nice is was to do busniess with them. My experence was this. I was looking for a one bedroom apartment, I put $100.00 down to be on a " top of the list ". After one and a half months there still was not an opening for the apartment I needed. I worked with Nichole Andree, very nice lady. I was able to get my $100.00 back. I had to find a place to stay but hope someday soon there will be an opening for me. Ric
