Recently came by and was inquiring about renting an apartment from York creek. Charleen was extreamly helpful. Sat down went over the process with us, offered to show us an apartment, and was very helpful. She kept us informed with how our application was going and called us very cheerful when we had been fully approved. She was very happy and awesome. Looking forward to working with her again.

Transferred recently from a 1 bedroom to a loft apartment. My leasing agent, Stacy Sanchez, facilitated the transfer and offered some possible units that would be open during the time frame I wanted to move. There was a mix up in the apartment # I was given that had to be sorted out a few days before the move, but Stacy found a solution quickly and resolved the issue. She showed me the unit twice before moving in and was helpful to answer any questions I had. In the end I was happy with the transfer and satisfied with the service. My leasing agent did a good job overseeing the process.

Comfortable living. Love that the public hallways are kept clean, grass stays cut & in the winter I'm always hearing snow plows at work I'm seeing staff throwing salt down the walk ways & trash bins are always empty for the residence just to toss the trash in.. York Creek has the best staff any questions or concerns about apartments there willing to help a.s.a.p without the run around. Jen Shea remember that name, ask for her she always gets the job done correct the first time!! SN

Jen was great. She was very helpful getting us into the apartment. The other office staff is friendly. The grounds are not kept the best in winter. They are slow to plow the snow and shovel the sidewalks. The hallway always smells and cleaning isn't consistent. If you have service calls maintenance will do a quick fix only. I have never been satisfied with the maintenance at York Creek. If only the maintenance staff was as friendly... I have lived in a few different buildings. Some have been great but this building has been the worst. Maintenance has always been poor.

We love Lupe! She was awesome through the whole process. The first unit we looked at rented before we got back to her however we are so glad it did! We are now in a beautiful 2 bedroom loft in a great building, the granite counters and extra deep tub are awesome:) we are still waiting on a few things on our move in checklist to be fixed, other then that we are very happy returning renters.

We were told that we would be placed on a vip list for a 2 bedroom 2 bedroom apartment with a washer and dryer . I was 8 months at the time and expressed to the leasing agent that we wanted to put our application in and deposit down and have everything set before I got to close to my due date . She insured us that we would get an apartment and that York creek was the biggest apartment complex here near Grand Rapids . So we put our payments down got accepted and waited . After waiting a month for a call back and only 9 days till our move in we get a called back saying there is no apartments available . It's jus really stressful because now since we waiting so long to get a answer from york creek now there is no other apartment a that meet our requirements for our family that soon of a notice . Everyone is saying that's to of a short notice so despite in already being in a high risk pregnancy I have to worry about where we will go since we already put out 30 days notice in a month ago when we put money down on a apartment at york creek . Our agent doesn't seem to care and don't care to accommodate is either .

I just recently moved in to my two bedroom loft apartment here and have has a great experience thus far. The staff was extremely welcoming and Jen Shea made getting in so fast and easy. Within 3 days of applying she had me moving in. My apartment has a lot of open space and let's in a lot of natural light. There is a huge kitchen pantry and lots of kitchen counter space. Rent is 870.00 and then you pay electric. Free gym membership at elite was a nice surprise I was unaware of (daycare provided.) My apartment is nice and clean and my building seems to be pretty peaceful. There are on site security staff that I've actually seen patrolling and the staff makes it really clear that if anything is needed to just let them know ... Thank you so much York Creek Apartments and Jen Shea!

I recently moved into a 2 bedroom garden apartment in York Creek and I'm extremely satisfied. The staff was beyond helpful, especially Charleen. Charleen not only was accommodating, but she was positive and outgoing, making my 1st apartment experience a smooth one. So far I have no complaints about noise and I feel safe at home. The apartment overall seems up to par, clean. Bedrooms are a tad bit small but I have a spacious living room so I wasn't really too worried about the lack of bedroom space. Great staff! Good location!

I recently moved to Grand Rapids for work and was looking for temporary accommodation for a month or two until I find something permanent. I did not want to get into the whole lease game since it was only for a short period of time. York Creek offers fully furnished executive apartments on a month to month lease, they also provide weekly maid service which is greast. Jen was an awesome leasing agent, she walked us through every little detail. She helped us finding just what we were looking for without any compromises. If you go check out these apartments, make sure you ask for Jen. The price is a little on the upside considering that the apartment is fully furnished, but it is completely worth it.

We recently sold our home and were looking for a nice apartment with adequate space. We needed to be much closer to work but did not want to spend a fortune for rent. We did a lot of research and walked through at least 10 different apartments and complexes from the north end to the south end of Grand Rapids. We saw some nice apartments that had very healthy rent attached to them. We saw some small ones and some big ones. We have heard "stories" of York Creek but a current resident assured us that the complex was fine and that she did not have any issues and she had been a resident nearly 5 years. We decided to check it out. First of all, our leasing agent, Jen Shea, was top notch and professional. Very friendly and full of information. She answered every question we threw at her and even answered questions we didn't know we had. She even put off date night to help us find just the right floor plan. Taking into consideration floorplan, amenities, rent, and the condition of the units, we were pleased in our decision to reside at York Creek. We are in a loft apartment which gives us the little extra room we wanted, easy living in a clean and updated apartment. We also happened to get an apartment with a view of the woods and a creek. So far our neighbors are friendly and quiet. Hopefully we aren't the noisy ones! We are very satisfied with our choice.

I have rented from York Creek twice in the past 2 years, and I like it. THe apartments are nice and depending on where you are, quiet. In my last apartment I almost never heard outside noise other than the people walking above me, which is basically a given if you are living in an apartment. At my current apartment I do sometimes hear more noise outside, mostly just talking, but it is not terrible or intolerable. They constantly have security driving around to ensure that the property is safe. I am not sure who I worked with in the leasing office my first time around, however, this time I worked with Jen Shea and she has been absolutely wonderful the entire time. Her effort and positive attitude stuck out to me from day one. She made the most efforts possible with every silly request I ran by her, and importantly, has always followed up with me, even after I moved in! I have never come across a leasing agent in ANY leasing office at any apartment complex like Jen.

We have been living here 2+ years with relatively few issues, and we feel this is not a bad apartment as it includes heat and water. But we were just informed that rent will increase with our next lease in a few months about 5%. We've never been late on rent and when we asked why an increase, we were told all rent is going to be increased to all residents, and supposedly we were actually given a lower rate. FYI: our rate for a one bedroom with loft and a washer/dryer was $670 for two years, but will be $705. Hmm. I looked up the rates on their website and they show rates listed from several years ago, soooo why are our rates being increased. The hair raises on the back of my neck and I have a funny feeling that because we have been great tenants, and been here 2+ years that they are attempting to stick us for more money. So in my opinion, stay here for a year or so, then beware of price gouging! We will soon be moving.

I looked for over a month and had several apartments rented out within minutes of me getting there. One complex I contacted sent word to their other properties and I checked out York Creek. I love my two bedroom loft, the apartment was clean and free of pest or mice or anything. The area I live in is quite. I understand the crime here is high but I have seen no evidence of it. Kent County Sheriff' and Walker police patrol regularly. Jen Shea was my leasing agent and I checked out the apartment and moved in within two days. With that said I will be moving when my six month buy out comes, simply because Alpine is to far away from my kids and grandson. If it weren't for that I would stay here with no problems. I love my free gym membership to Elite Fitness and how close everything is. If I could move the complex to Kentwood I'd be thrilled. I hardly ever hear a neighbor and had no idea that children even lived in the building until I'd been here for two months. My only issue is the appliances are old and very outdated. I cook a lot and the stove drives me nuts. But overall I have a beautiful apartment with great lighting and good maintenance.

First of all, ALL of the positive reviews on here are most likely from the office staff at York Creek, or from someone being paid to write these. I have only been here a little over a year and I have yet to hear of a tenant having anything positive to say about York Creek. York Creek lives up to its reputation, and sadly the management knows this and just doesn't care. Simple as that. I moved here in June 2013 in a pinch (I had little income coming in and shaky credit at the time). On a whim I came in to get an application and a gentleman named Donald (who unfortunately doesn't work there anymore) was in the office and asked me if I wanted to tour an apartment. So we went and looked at a 2 bedroom: the apartments are extremely spacious; it just that the management and the majority of the residents are awful enough to ruin it for everyone. I told him that I had a dog; he told me that pets were only allowed in certain buildings, required a pet deposit, ect. That was fine. I told Donald all my reservations about signing a lease: the drugs, the break-ins, ect. He assured me that York Creek had security officers and resident patrols to help enforce crime in the apartments, and that management was pretty good at kicking out the rotten eggs (the bad tenants). The only reason I signed a lease was because I had been turned down EVERYWHERE else for an apartment and had nowhere else to go. I signed my lease on June 28th, 2013. WORST MISTAKE EVER. First of all, they didn't put me in a pet building, despite me giving them all my dogs info. I will never forget the Sunday evening after I moved... I had my patio screen door opened to let the breeze in. I was laying on my couch watching a movie, when out of nowhere a deputy police office literally came out of nowhere with one of those HUGE double barrel shot guns. I almost ---- my pants. I went over to my door and he asked me what apartment building I was in. I told him and asked if everything was ok; he only told me to close my door and to stay inside. So I did just that. To this day I have no clue what was going on the day, but seeing Walker police at York Creek and deputies are a pretty common thing to see. Scary. That Monday I went to the Business office to tell them about what happened the day before and was referred to Jackie, who allegedly was the Resident Relations manager at York Creek (whatever.) I spoke with her and insisted that I be moved to a quieter apartment on another floor: she refused, saying how safe residents feel at York Creek, and if she didn't have so many kids she'd feel comfortable living here. BS. A couple of days later, my dog and I were chilling in the living room when some kids were walking past my apartment. One of them said "Hey ya'll, there goes her dog! Let's get him!" and literally tried opening my patio door to come into my apartment. I'm guessing they didn't see me, so when they got close enough I scared them and they ran off. AGAIN, went to the business office. Reported it. Was referred to Jackie. Nothing done about the situation. See where this is going? Then, one Sunday morning, I was JUST about to jump in the shower when I heard a knock on my at apartment door. I go to peek to see who it was: it's (surprise, surprise) a police deputy. She told me that the apartment directly over me had been broken into that morning and was going around asking residents if they'd seen/heard anything. AGAIN, another trip to the business office. Reported this. Talked with Jackie (who said whoever it was never reported it with the office, so she would "investigate it" and report back to me. I guess she never found out anything because she NEVER called me back. Mind you, this all happened within my first month in York Creek. Things did eventually get quieter during the fall and winter months (except our hallway reeked of weed and someone got killed there in September)... However, one day a neighbor called the office on us because "my boyfriend was playing his music too loud." Jackie, the same woman from Resident Relations, came to my apartment and saw my dog. When I got home from work there was a letter on my door stating that I have to get rid of my dog, and in one week they were going back to inspect my apartment, and if any pet related damages were found or if they found evidence that a dog was living in my apartment, I would be evicted. Do you think they ever came back and did my inspection? If you guessed "No", you're correct! Management is SO full of hot air! So, our lease was going to be up soon. My boyfriend and I were debating if we wanted to move or renew our lease and transfer to a 2 bedroom loft on the 3rd floor. We went into the office and paid the $100 for the "waiting list" and everything. Well, the following Monday, I go to get in my car to go to work. Lo and behold, my rear drivers side tire and wheel were GONE!!!! (They got a few of my neighbors too). That was THE final straw! I called and reported to the business office, where (AGAIN!) I was directed to talking to Jackie, who (AGAIN!) did nothing about the situation. UPS has left 2 of my packages at the front door for me: of course someone stole it both times. I didn't even bother reporting it to York Creek because seriously they are fully in denial about the crime that happens in their buildings, so what's the point??? Recently, my neighbors have taken to using the laundry room afterhours, like 1, 2AM (my apt is right next to the laundry room, in which Donald assured me that residents are aware that the laundry facility is off limits between 11pm and 7AM. I called several times to complain and have gotten NO WHERE. John (I'm guessing is the new guy from "Resident Relations") informed me just today that they could put up some signs, then stated that he "didn't feel like it's been that big of a problem yet." Of course not, he's not the one sleeping in the apt by the laundry room. I try giving York Creek all kinds of benefits of the doubt, but at the end of the day all they just want your money. They don't care about the safety of their residents. My advice? Save yourself the heartache... DO NOT MOVE INTO YORK CREEK APARTMENTS!!!!!!!!!

I've been living at York Creek for a couple weeks now. Stacy Sanchez was amazing and really went above and beyond to find us the exact apartment we were searching for. We had quite a few requests and Stacy took them on like a real professional. The complex is massive. It's almost like a city within itself. All my neighbors seem polite and friendly. Being right off of Alpine, I was concerned about having to commute down Alpine anytime I wanted to go somewhere but I was pleased to discover that the complex also exits to 4 Mile road which is incredibly helpful for those looking to avoid busy streets. Our apartment was incredibly clean when we moved in. So far, so good. We are loving York Creek.

I moved into these apartments about a week ago. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. From the start of filling out the app to signing the lease, Charleen was absolutely great! She was very nice and courteous. As far as the apartments are concerned, given the price they are very nice and there is plenty of space. I give these apartments a 5 star.

My husband and I are new to the area and we looked for ever to find an apartment. When we came to York Creek, we fell in love with the place. We worked with Jen Shea during the whole leasing process and she was wonderful and so knowledgable. Even after the official move in, she is always available to help with questions and area recommendations too. Jen really knows her stuff. The maintenance guys are awesome as we'll. Haven't moved in yet, but my leasing agent Charleen has been the greastest! Went to turn in my application for a two bedroom and she said she had really good news for me, a one bedroom with w/d hookup became availalbe and she remembered that was what I had really wanted. So, I was able to reserve that one. She's awesome to work with, gets anwers for you and goes beyond what you expect an agent would. Looking forward to moving in. Doug
