We only live there part time as we live in Europe. The apartment complex is very nice and the grounds are well maintained. The apartment itself is a good size for us and was recently renovated before we moved in. It works well for us as a temporary home when we come back for a visit.

External look and layout of the apartments is great. Upgraded apartments are in excellent conditions. Staff and maintenance teams are very supportive and respond in timely manner. Community functions are great way to socialize and haven't seen them really in any other communities that I have lived in this area.

Only complaint with the apartment is that you can hear the neighbors walk upstairs. Otherwise, it is a great place to live and would definitely recommend to others. Staff is very helpful and covered parking is very close to apartment which is nice.

Excellent location close to freeway, several grocery stores and Rochester downtown. Community has beautiful trails nearby. Gated community and safe place to live in. Separate personal entrance to each apartment. Staff is very good, maintenance is quick and clean. Very calm community, No noisy neighbors. I have recommended this place to many people I know and will continue to do so.

The apartment has been a great transition from living at home to having my own place. The amenities and quality of the apartment itself was above and beyond my expectations when moving in, and I love having my own front door so it doesn't feel like an apartment at all. The view from our back door is very private and beautiful and we love seeing all the animals that wander by. Overall it has been a great experience.

Great place to live! Safe and clean. Office staff always responsive and any maintenance issues taken care of immediately. Management is always working on exterior projects to keep things updated - parking areas resurfaced, exterior paint/trim, landscaping.

River Oaks is nice enough. Apartments are spacious and nice-appearing. In-unit laundry is a big plus. Rent increases year-to-year, however, which is frustrating because apartment quality does not increase. "Security" gate is also frequently broken/inoperable. Maintenance staff are super nice and friendly though!

My fianc? and I moved into our apartment at the end of June 2021. We fell in love with the community aesthetics and the gated community aspect of it was a big plus. Upon entering the higher end units we instantly fell in love. The surprisingly tall ceilings are amazing, close parking makes life easier, and the appliances are perfect. We could not be happier living in this community.

My experience has been great. The community is safe, kept clean, and very friendly. The apartment itself was updated and very spacious with high quality appliances. I have only had to call maintenance for a few small things and they have always been helpful and responded extremely fast. Management is also very easy to deal with and always friendly. Gated community which is very calm and with friendly neighbors. Houses are very spacious, staffs and services are friendly and prompt. No troubles finding open parking spaces, plenty of spots in front of the house. Recreational facilities are clean and sufficient. Overall a nice place to live.

River oaks of Rochester Hills is a breath of fresh air. The professional care and respect you receive is unlike any other apartment complex. At river oaks you are appreciated and cared for. They are prompt with maintenance, follow up on all requests competed, and make sure all of your needs are taken care of. The staff really does care about all of the residents and they treat you like family. You won't find a better place to live than river oaks.

Clean building and grounds. maintenance requests have always resolved same day and the staff is friendly. Some units don't have updated counters/appliances and I would be much happier paying the amount I do if those were brought up to date. After 7 years of residing in River Oaks I have very few negatives. The office staff is responsive. The Maintenance crews work hard. The landscaping and area in which the complex is located is very nice. Close to many businesses and restaurants.

Beautiful apartment campus on an exceptional piece of property - treed, rolling topography, wetlands, river and wildlife(deer, turkey etc.) Great location with excellent proximity to Oakland University, City of Rochester, and major freeways. The location and grounds are gorgeous and make the community desirable for anyone who enjoys nature. The apartments vary widely, as some are renovated and some are not. The un-renovated apartment I've lived in has had many issues and has very old, run down appliances, windows and doors. With rent increasing every year, it is becoming less of a value to me. I cannot speak of the renovated apartments.
