it is a scam
we were ready to move in the next day to a one bedroom apartment. first sight of the place showed standing water in the foyer that rotted the wood all the way to the master closet, musty smell, and mold in the master. I was informed by property management that this apartment doesn't get shown much (I wonder why) BUT they could get us in another one but at a cost of $150 more. this plus the hidden cost for breaking a lease (which they were not up front with on the phone) made us decide not to live here. also there is NO parking.

NIGHTMARE .......RUN AWAY
We probably lived in seven apartments till now and THIS IS THE WORST.....way too over priced, most horrible staff and very less parking space...You move out and they charge you TOO much..I paid over a 1000 dollars for normal wear and tear....I have never paid so much before.....Trust us...run away..there are alot of wonderful apartments around....

Beware!!!
I lived in Preston's reserve for 2 years and moved out to St Louis. I could not do the Move out inspection personally and I trusted Preston's reserve folks to do a fair job. They charged me outrageously for replacement of carpet and cleaning ($500 to clean kitchen tops!!!). When I sought explanation, they never bothered to return my calls or answer my questions. Instead they turned the case to collection agencies and pursued the matter with them. The apartment folks are not to be trusted with. They are nice and friendly to to get you in but absolute nightmare afterwards. I lived in apratments in various cities for 6 years. Preston's reserve managment is absolutely the worst. So prospective tentants beware. What you see is not what you are going to get. Unless you want to payback all the discounts in the shape of cleaning charges

Wouldn't do it again
Eh. The place is BEAUTIFUL, with lots of amenities.

But...I don't think we'd live here if the opportunity arose again.

Why?

Well, the apt that we wanted, the one that we signed the lease for- on move in day was FILTHY. Things were damaged, the carpet was torn up, the paint job was half done,- basically it was awful. I can't believe someone signed off as the apt was ready to be re-rented. We went back to the office and said we were not going to move into it. It was a 3 bedroom (which in all actuality is really a 2 bedroom with a den). They tried to calm our fears by putting us into a 2 bedroom, which had been our second choice.

It wasn't quite ready they said, and didn't have a washer. That it would be remedied on Monday morning. That Monday morning never came. We ended up breaking the lease and getting out without having lived there. We got our deposit back, basically because we never lived there.

It's pretty, in a nice area...but I wouldn't do it again.

Highly recommended
The complex was very well kept and more affordable than we anticipated. The staff was very accommodating. We met many professional people living in this complex and became good friends with some of them. The general area was kept very clean. When we moved out, we were pleasantly surprised that we received our entire deposit because we had damaged a wall with a piece of furniture during the moving process.

I was shocked at the contents of some of the other reviews on this site as my wife and I had no negative experiences with the staff, the apartments, or the grounds. I would hope that while reading particular negative reviews on this site, one would consider the source of the review (which may easily be deducted by the lack of grammar and the use of choice four-letter words.)

We would defiantly recommend living Preston’s Reserve Apartments.
Great place to live
I've lived here for a little over a year now and have been very pleased with the staff, the location, the price, and the qualitity of the apartment. The staff here is helpful, friendly, generous and kind. NO apartment is without its small problems (noise level- really not bad here, parking, and maintenance), but here those on the staff do all they can to help make life here great.:) Also, the pool and exercise room is a great way to meet other people in your community. You should give Preston's reserve a try!

DON'T BE FOOLED!! LOOK ELSE WHERE!!
To anyone that's even considering renting from here, take my advice and don't do it. It may seem nice at first with the ammenities, curb appeal, and other things that's offered, but once you get approved, the truth about this place starts to show its true colors, from all angles and directions. And it won't look good and probably will be one of your worst experiences ever with an apartment community. And from my experience, going through what I did after approval, including the lies and attitudes, it's not worth the time, money, or headaches. It's alot of apartments, that are alot better and newer then these are. Trust me, I found one and couldn't be happier with the choice I made. And that was to get out of the situation with them, before I got in too deep and not even sign a lease there. Knowing now, that I would only regret signing it later, and be ready to move before time to renew the lease. Plus I got the ammenities they offer plus more. But if you do decide to rent from there, AVOID THE WAITING LIST IF YOU CAN. But if you get on the list, PLEASE AT ALL COST, HAVE A BACK UP PLAN!! YOU'LL PROBABLY NEED IT, TRUST ME! Also you'll understand why as you proceed with the process with them, from start to finish. But here's something for you to remember. SEEING IS BELIEVING AND EXPERIENCING THINGS IS BETTER YET. But hopefully you won't go through the nightmare I did. But BEWARE OF EVERYTHING THAT'S PRESENTED TO YOU, AND THAT EVERYTHING THAT SOUNDS AND LOOK GOOD MAY NOT BE IN THE FUTURE, AND DON'T SAY YOU HAVEN'T BEEN WARNED.

Staff leaving positive reviews here!!!
I happen to know for a fact that the positive reviews you are reading are left by the management staff in an effort to offset the true, negative posts left by real tenants.

Notice how complimentary they are of themselves. The truth is that Preston's Reserve should be brought up on charges for fraud and misrepresentation. When you're moving in, they're all lovey-dovey, but just try to move out. Jeckyl and Hyde in full effect.

A fine place to live
I have lived here for the past two years and just renewed my lease. The apartment is roomy and bright and fits my needs exactly. The clubhouse and grounds are very attractive and the staff is delightful. They are always ready to help and repairs have been made promptly. They call me by name even though they have a couple hundred tenants to recall. Parking is a bit of problem for those who don't have a garage, but that may be because they don't want to walk more than two feet from their front door.

I will continue to live here for the time I am stationed in NC. Great place!

Problematic At Best
I stayed there for 3 years, the staff was everchanging and very unprofessional. The maintenance was horrendous and took 6 months to finally repair basic items. The floor plans were nice but way to expensive for what you were given. The sales staff did not take care of existing customers for lease renewal and offered new clients much better deals. The main point is PR worth the price?...I would say look elsewhere!!

A Little Piece of Heaven
Moving into Preston's Reserve was the best thing that we ever did. The staff here is so friendly, they are more like family than the overseers of the property. While the apartments themselves are beautiful and spacious, it really is the employees that make this place so wonderful. They are personable, efficient, and are quick to respond to even the smallest of needs. The fact that this place is almost always full speaks for itself.

Top-notch
We have lived at Preston's Reserve for the past three years and the experience has been nothing but the best. Great location, great apartment, great service. The staff, Jason, Steve, Amy, and Andrea, is "top-notch". They are very efficient and are warm and friendly. Any time we have had any problems, the staff has always done their best to take care of it right away.
We had looked at numerous apartment complexes, before we chose Preston's and we are so glad that we decided to live here.

Great Place but very pricey
I lived there from 8/2000 to 1/2002 and it has been a very pleasant experience (especially using the free clubhouse). But the rent was very expensive at a whopping $1650/month for our 3 bedroom apartment with a 2 car garage. If you want to live here I suggest you get a job that pays at LEAST $20/hour and good luck!

Don´t walk, RUN away from here!
Staff turnover is unbelievable- and they are rude and seem miffed when you "interrupt" them to hand in a rent check or pick up a package. Better hope you don´t have maintenance issues, because it takes days or sometimes weeks of calling to get things fixed! Parking is a nightmare and one trash dumpster for all of those apts. is just poor planning. Dog crap EVERYWHERE- some of us without animals do not care to dodge dog crap on a daily basis. I know that the move-out will be a nightmare (like everything else here), but at the same time I can´t wait to get out!!

Mixed Feelings
Staying for last two years. Apartments are roomy compared to most others in the area, and cheaper. The move-in specials were great but the rent has been increasing with each renewal! Lousy parking arrangements.. Lot of times I do not find parking near my buildging. The idiot planner forgot to add open parking for two cars per apartment. Here´s their calculation: 2 parking spaces per apartment (sound great). However, if you have a garage, then one car in garage and the 2nd right in front of garage. Very few park their vehicles in garage or in front. That creates parkingnightmare and you even see some cars parked in the fire lanes!! Service is poor, which starts with their response time. At times, you have to notify them several times before the work gets done. Some of the office staff has behaved rudely.

No No No
The only good thing about this place is that appartments are really spacious. For the amount of money you pay you do get space. However, the making of the appartments is very cheap. I mean, door hinges are of the worst kind, security door locks are so cheap that my 2 year old son managed to get one off by pulling the door with a normal 3 yr old ability.... The maintainance are unresponsive and bathrooms are of the cheapest kind.. toilet seats are made for children not for adults!
I leave there for 13 months and when I moved out, they charged me for obscene amounts of money and they claimed that they have proof of the claimed damage. it has been 2 months that I´m fighting with them asking for that claimed ´proof´ and they simply have none because I left no damage!

Overall.... don´t do it.... It was definitely a bad experience.

I like it here
Whats all the problems?!?!?! I´ve lived here for two years and never had a problem. The only issue I run into is the parking and it´s usually around the holidays. The grounds are cleaned once a week, which is normal for any complex. The staff has been nothing but nice to me each and everytime I spoke to them. They see me in the parking lot and say ´hello´ and they know my name. I have no problem with the maintenance crew, they are very nice and professional when I have needed them. NOISE, what noise?!?! I see kids outside and my hear cars at times, but for the most part, the noise isn´t that bad. Overall I would rate this complex as a 4

Great place to live.
I THINK THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE. OTHERS COMPLAIN ABOUT MOSQUITOS BUT I DON´T THINK MOSQUITOS ARE A PROBLEM IF YOU LIVE ON SECOND OR THIRD FLOOR. THERE IS GOING TO BE MOSQUITOS IN EVERY APARTMENT IF YOU LIVE ON THE FIRST FLOOR. PARKING IS THE ONLY PROBLEM. OUTDOOR FACILITIES ARE THE BEST PART. THE BASKETBALL COURT, POOL, ETC. THE GYM ALSO HAS GREAT STUFF. PRESTON RESERVE IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE. RIGHT BESIDE PANERA BAKERY, CHICOS MEXICAN RESTAURANT, FOOD LION, AND CARMIKE CINEMAS.

Don´t Do It!
If you are interesting in moving into Preson´s Reserve Apartments I would suggest that you don´t. I have lived here for the last three years and have watched the place go rapidly down hill. I was the first person to live in my apartment, so the complex was brand new and the management team was decent. In the past three years the people in the rental office have changed so many times I can´t keep track. If something breaks, good luck getting it fixed. They don´t return phone calls. The parking is horrible. There are 12 units in my building and six parking spots in front of the building, two being handicap spots. You do the math. Even though no one in my building is handicapped don´t even think about parking in the handicaped spot. I learned this one the hard way. Can you say "ticket"?
The gym is a dump. I dont think it has been cleaned since I moved in. Doesn´t really matter since most of the equipment is broken anyway. If you do decide to move in hope you like animal waste, cause we got it in large quantity here at Preston´s Reserve. I am talking wall to wall dog crap. Dont even think about walking across anything that isn´t paved, not if you want to keep your shoes that is. Do I need to go on? Ok, the water heaters are too small, they dont replace the air filters, and the dumpster is usually overflowing with garbage. My lease is up in a couple of months and I am so out of here. Don´t make the same mistake I did.

Wonderful place to live!!!
I am not so sure what the other few people are seeing that I don´t. I have lived in the Preston´s Reserve Community for the past year. I have enjoyed the experience and the staff that work very hard to make things look and feel like a home. They often offer community events in order to meet and greet with neighbors and to benefit the community. I would strongly recommend renting from Preston´s Reserve.

Crappy place to live.
I feel sorry for anyone moving in here that didn´t have a chance to read these reviews first because the staff is definitly two faced. They´re angels during move-in, and monsters on move-out. Don´t think they give a hoot about any residents. It´s all about the dollars.
