I lived here for a year. If I could list the pros-cons: Pros: Good apartments. Spacious floor plans. Walmart is close-by. Good parking space. Safe. Good maintenance team. Cons: Rent is a bit on higher side. No trees, so no shade parking. Staff is good except for -------. Dont ask her for anything. You wont get any answer.

Go elsewhere

Don't live here unless you enjoy being talked to like a child when you have issues. I have had the unfortunate task of speaking with -----------------------------...whatever her name may be, when calling into the office 3 different times. Each time was worse than the time before. She is completely rude, doesn't know how to speak correctly, yet feels the need to talk down to you and doesn't seem to have time to address any issues that you have. If you do make the mistake of living here and have a problem, talk to maintenance OR the property manager, they were always helpful. Windsor, I would look at replacing her, there are way too many people out there that will work hard and know how to deliver customer service.

I have lived at the vinoy for 3 years now, and really have enjoyed my stay. The entire staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Maintenance always is very nice and gets my service requests done quick. They had a pool party recently and it was very fun. They seem to always do different events for us. The only thing that I would say is that sometimes I can hear my neighbors, but overall it is a beautiful neighborood and great place to live!!

Good place to be in

We have lived here for over an year now. Overall, I felt that this was a good place. The only problem that I had was that there were no considerations on the rent for old residents. There are deals that apply only to the new tenants. But that maybe the case in almost all apartment complexes. Another problem that I had was when we requested for a transfer to another apartment here. I was initially told that it would not be a problem, but later was informed that they were not accepting any transfers. That's when we decided to move out. Apart from this, we really enjoyed our stay here. We had good neighbors, mostly friendly staff and prompt maintenance. On some occasions though I felt that the staff could have been a little more caring, but maybe I am asking too much. There were some security incidents as you may have in a non-gated community. But they have security alarms installed in all apartments. You could also opt for a service on the alarm system, but that will be at additional cost. Anyways, for those who made a decision to move in and got a deal on the rent while doing so, I believe you would enjoy your stay here. Good Luck.

Rip off in the name of Month-to-Month

I lived in this community for about a year had no issues, however the real trouble pops up when your lease ends. For job related reasons I was not able to sign a long term lease and requested for month-to-month. To my surprise they charged a whopping premium of $350 for that. I could not believe paying $1080 for a small apartment for which I was paying $730. Many of my colleagues were in the same situation and in other communities there were paying just 50 to 100 dollars as premium for month to month. Is this a punishment for moving into this community ? Apartment seekers should insist the management to state the exact premium in the agreement so that the tenants will not be taken for a ride at the end. I do not have any complaints about the property quality, maintenence staff or office staff.

worst management & apartments are very noise & scary palce any time you get looted.

I stayed here for few days horrable, We stayed there just because we signed the lease & we didn't have any alternative. Please don't go here, The management is very irresponsible & they don't give respect here at all to clients they think they are the only apartment guys in that area. There are couple loots happened & lot of robery also can take place, I know there were 3 roberies happened in just less than a year time. My kind advise is not to move here. I really like the vinoy

I have lived here for a year now. the staff is very helpful, even though I see alot of people give them a hard time, they are still polite. The maint does a great job at taking care of the outside and doing my requests. I like being close to harris but not right on harris blvd, its very good for me. The neighborhood is quiet and the office has nice parties for us. I will be renewing my lease here and have recommended the place to several of my friends who now live here as well.

Do NOT lease @ the Vinoy

Please do not be fooled by the models of this community. Yes, i agree the floorplans are spacious.. however, the walls are soooo paper thin.. for the 1st 6 months of me living there.. i could hear the guy above me snore! you heard me.. snore! i couldnt believe it.. i would wake up in the middle of the night wondering wth that noise was.. and finally my assumption was validated by my BF who happened to stay the nite one nite.. i can hear their toilets being flushed.. their loud ethnic music til all hours of the nite! AND you can hear people walking down the stairs! On top of that.. as much as vinoy's residents complain, you would thing they (Vinoy Mgmt) would like to have tenant retention by keeping their rates reasonable.. think again.. and keep on wishing.. my 6-month lease was up and had to make a decision soon and i tried to get the office to lock in my rate.. they refused and acted as if i was insane. In addition, i placed my 1st maintenance request the other day by phone (b/c it was after-hours), but no-one called to confirm if i was going to be home, or if they were even going to come out.. or whatever! Luckily, my sister was home & let them in.. If not for her being home, would the maintenance man come in without notice? Who knows! Another big issue for me is.. the oommunity if located right across the street from 3-4 schools.. so you will have to be super careful in the mornings .. if you're not where the "school" xing flashing lights are and you can't see them.. you could be stopped by cops! School zone speed limit: 25.. UGGH.. especially when you're in a rush in the mornings! The staff is wonderful WHEN at point of sale.. beyond that.. total B!otches!

Vinoy is Hell never live in VINOY if you want to be SAFE

First let me talk about the reviews if you see any reviews showing 5.0 then its 100% sent by the Vinoy staff only, cause not even a single resident can write a review with 5.0 for sure. You name it Parking is the worst. CRIME..., The management dont want to deal with it. Management : WORST , WORST AND WORST, BETTER AVOID THEM .., Every body are the same. LEASE RENEWAL..., They will send you a letter , but if you think you want to renew then will then come up with a different number it will be definetly $200 above the numbers they coted you in writing.. it happend with me and atleast 4 friends of mine living there. Management: is the WORST even you complain to the head quarters then will not take any action, if not you would have notice that the management has nto changed their staff so far, as they like this dirty staff. ***I WILL NEVER RECOMMAND ANY ONE*********** *******if you are working for cibt wachovia or TIACC that street you want want to rent in ARBOUR HILLS where there are lot of individual home for less price and peace of mind or that side of the appartments*********** I know atleast 10 time the houses was ROBBED in 6 months.

i just renewed my lease for another year. The vinoy has been great! Maintenance keeps the vinoy looking very good and has always taken quick care of any problems we have in the apartment. The staff in the office is very nice and always helpful too.

Risk your life, lose your ego, get abused.. everything here in windsor at vinoy

Worst mngt, frequent thefts(mngt supports indirectly especially those cleaning guys), Racism(you are abused to the core if you are a foreigner). No way cooperative or no human value. Better find another place instead living in such worst place. I lived here for 18months and always had bad time with them. None of the head/regional office will co-operate for any voice that you make. If you think it is new apartment, then you are wrong and you will realize once you get into it. Better knock some doors and talk to people directly before signing in. Better to speak with people who are there for atleast a year. All the best.

great staff

I have lived here for over a year. This is one of the best apartments that I have lived in. The whole staff is very professional and are always willing to help you. The maintenance is ggod as well, my work orders are always done very quick. I read some of the others reviews on here and completely disagree. The property manager has always been courteous to me along with the other staff. Mani is very professional as well. I think some of the residents here do not like to be told no and that is where the problem comes in. On two different occassions now I have been in the office when residents were arguing with staff members, it was really unbeilievable to me that they did not understand that no means no. The staff handled to better than I would. I think this is a great place to live and that some of the residents need to understand they should treat that whole staff with more respect.

Wonderful place to get stripped off

Hi, I am still living here and decieded to move, just not myself but most of the families are plannig to leave this place, if you would want to consider this place wait for 4 monts you will get 3 months free if you live here kind of deals :-)) This place is like you are living with Kristene(manager of this property) as she keep dictating stuff but never really works, she really pisses off every one on the property, if she is been thrown out 50% of the pain on the property is gone, the rest 50% to deal with Crime which is out side the management control but can definelty take measures which she will never even attempt, There are many volunteers asking for information to help protect the community but she dosent want to pass on the information, especially ------- are getting really really screwed up at this place living here is a night mare just consider my words DONT TAKE THIS PLACE AS YOUR HOME

Above average, lived here since 2005

I have lived here since 9/2005, one of the first residents. The assistant Manager Mani S is outstanding. She is very professional and always follows up on any concerns or issues until they are resolved to your satisfaction. The apartment complex is very diverse, and neighbors are friendly and keep to themselves. The apartments are very modern, and well built. I live on the first floor, and sometimes my upstairs neighbors are noisy, but I do not hear noise, talking, flushing toilets on the apartments next to mine. Which to me, means the walls are sufficiently insulated. The maintenance staff are very friendly, and responsive. I have lived in two different apartments, both large two bedrooms, two bath, and the closet space is tremendous. For the most part, I did not have any issue with plumbing, window drafts, leaking faucets, etc. The staff communicates break-ins and sends out flyers to remind you to be careful, and to look out for each other, and quickly report suspicious individuals. CMPD came in a few times to educate tenants and safety issues. Obviously, the location is great, easy access to 85 and Harris Blvd. I highly recommend this apartment complex.

I have read some of the other reviews here on the website, and realize that people only write these mainly when they are upset about something and did not get there way. The staff her as been nothing but very professional every time I have to deal with them for any situation. As far as crime goes, there have been break ins which a letter was sent out about and there was also a safety meeting ( which alot of residents failed to attend). In any case I am upset by the crime, but I do realize that managenment cannot stop crime, and they are doing all they can to try to make it the best environment to live in.

worst management

Hi everyone, Worst managment.Especially the staffs(-----------------)each and everyone having there own rules and regulations.We are here still 2006.The Vinoy management at that time was terribly superb.But the new management is terribly worst.But the maintainence people are very friendly and too good.I think if the management changes everything will be fine.The crime rate has increased (recently)under this management.Very careless behaviour of the management in each and everything.

Crime at the Vinoy

Folks, a friend of my was recently assaulted during the day time. Management came by after the attack and said little to nothing about the attack to other residents. No flyers, no special meetings. nothing. Now, the community is mixed and usually is peaceful. The attack came as a surprise to me and others. Now, as a selling point, they will usually tell you that they have a security guy living there. Well, they refused to pay his rent and let him go. Now, cars are starting to get broken into. Day light apartment robbries and assaults with little police attention and office manager concern. I really lost respect for everyone in that office. Oh, they are more concern with watering their grass then your safety.

Rude Property Manager

First thing, property manager is so rude and she doen't know how to behave with the people. If you expect some professional behaviour from the management this is not the place you should look for. There are lot of complaints about the new management(especially the Manager Kristen) as well. remaining staff behaves reasonably well than the manager!!! We have been living at Windsor at The Vinoy for a while and they keep changing the rules and maintenance fees because the property is on demand for some reasons a while! Maintenance staff is good and friendly! I have no complaints about the property except the above!!

Great place to live

Don't base renting or not renting a place by one or two reviews, definitely come to the property and talk to residents and see for yourself. I have lived at another Windsor property in the past and think very highly of the management. They are very professional and the same rules apply to everyone since the new management has taken over. I'm only here for a short time while I wait to close on my house, but management has been very accomidating. The property is gorgeous, there is no trash or vandalism here. I was very surprised by the apartment, it's even nicer than I remembered when I saw the model. Huge ceilings make it feel like more of a home, ceiling fans, crown molding and everything is so new. I have a newborn and love going for walks around the property, all of my neighbors, even though I am new smile and say hello. Parking is super easy as there are tons of spots and maintenance is fast to come and fix things. My only complaint is people who don't pick up after their dogs, you know who you are! Other than that, good price for great quality. I haven't really used the amenities but there are a bunch. If we weren't buying my hubby and I would definitely stay here longer.

horrible management

we have been living at Windsor at The Vinoy since june 2006.everything was fine in the beginning.but the management changed in sept-oct 2006.since then everything has changed.they keep changing the rents,rules & regulations from person to person.one gets some concession and other does'nt.they keep charging money for literally everything.the staff here is quite rude.they don't respond properly.they can never help you out in getting what you want.they reserve some apartment for you but later inform that the apartment is not available.this has been happening to everyone here.they give referral checks to people who bring in new residents to the apartment community,but thats illegal in NC! if one can afford ever increasing rents they can come to Vinoy !
